Cruz Del Sur Music Releases THE WATCHER’s Out of the Dark

Boston (MA) – U.S. Doom-Tinged Heavy Metal outfit, The Watcher, has released Out of the Dark on Cruz Del Sur Music. The band’s first full-length album is available now on CD, vinyl, and digital formats! Fans of Iron Maiden, Trouble, and Satan should take note!

The 2021 release of The Watcher’s debut Your Turn to Die EP was the culmination of delays, false starts and good, old-fashioned patience. The 2016 creation of guitarist/bassist Max Furst, The Watcher was not intended to have such a prolonged gestation for its first release into the metal world, but the wait proved to be worth it.

Physical copies of Your Turn to Die sold out upon its release, signaling to Furst, vocalist Paden Reed and drummer Chris Spraker that there would be demand for their distinctive brand of NWOTHM with elements of doom. Alas, that moment has arrived in the form of the eight-song “Out of the Dark.”

Out of the Dark was recorded in the autumn months of late 2023 with engineer Sasha Stroud at Artifact Audio in Maspeth, Queens, New York. The Watcher went to great lengths to ensure that the songs worked within the context of the album format with an organic flow of ideas and intentional peaks and valleys to ensure listener engagement. As a result, Out of the Dark expands on what The Watcher started on Your Turn to Die. From urgent, heads-down ‘bangers to festival-ready chorus all the way to the climactic closing track, “Thy Blade, Thy Blood,” the band’s growth is readily apparent.

The Watcher will be gigging around the East Coast and parts of Canada in support of Out of the Dark (ex-Malleus guitarist Nelson Ribas and Demon Chrome guitarist Dylan Kulpa have since completed The Watcher’s live lineup.) More importantly, the band hopes to arrive on European shores sometime in the near future. For the present, though, Out of the Dark emerges as a compelling LP that unifies classic metal and the darkness of doom, fortified through the spirit of three metallic diehards who never say die.

Track Listing:

  1. Out of the Dark
  2. Strike Back
  3. Burning World
  4. Exiled
  5. The Revelator
  6. Kill Or Be Killed
  7. The Final Hour
  8. Thy Blade, Thy Blood

Full Moon Haiku tour to visit Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Austria and the Netherlands

Tour follows the release of new Ante-Inferno album Death’s Soliloquy

Album release show this Saturday in Manchester

In support of their latest album Death’s Soliloquy, UK black metal band Ante-Inferno will return to central Europe this December on a 10-date tour which will see them perform to audiences across five countries.

Fresh off the release of their critically acclaimed album, Ante-Inferno will descend upon Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, and the Netherlands, spreading their sonic darkness across the continent. Joining them on most dates is the German act Imha Tarikat, while select appearances will feature support from Ultima Necat.

The tour kicks off with a special UK album release show in Manchester on November 30th alongside Hulder. The Central European leg officially commences on 4th December in Munich, Germany, and continues through European cities until its conclusion on December 14th at Eindhoven Metal Meeting in the Netherlands.

ANTE-INFERNO FULL MOON HAIKU TOUR 2024

Nov 30 – Manchester, UK (w/ Hulder) **
Dec 4 – Munich, Germany **
Dec 5 – Nuremberg, Germany **
Dec 6 – De Mortem Et Diabolum; Berlin, Germany *
Dec 7 – Wintermelodei; Münster, Germany *
Dec 8 – Erfurt, Germany *
Dec 9 – Prague, Czech Republic – * **
Dec 10 – Vienna, Austria *
Dec 11 – Wrocław, Poland *
Dec 12 – Chemnitz, Germany * **

Dec 14 – Eindhoven, Netherlands *

With Death’s Soliloquy, Ante-Inferno have delivered a malevolent hammer strike to the face of all who thought they would continue to mellow after the success of the atmospheric and otherworldly “Antediluvian Dreamscapes”. The album’s nightmarish cover art (from the masterful mind of Khaos Diktator Design), perfectly sums up the album’s sonic approach.

An ode to madness, mental illness, death obsession and unfettered suicidal despair, Death’s Soliloquy harnesses the bestial might of traditional black metal and intricately weaves it with the haunting majesty of the atmospheric sound the band is known for, and in doing so takes the listener on an anguished, hysterical descent into the blackened emptiness of the grave.

Death’s Soliloquy is available to order in physical formats from the band’s Bandcamp and Vendetta Records

Onism ProductionsMatriarch Records and Forbidden Keep Records have also prepared three special edition cassette versions of Death’s Soliloquy, which is available to order and will start shipping this week.

Listen to the album via streaming serviceshttps://RecordU.lnk.to/Deaths_Soliloquy

In the run-up to the album’s release, the band unveiled an artwork video for the opening track “The Cavernous Blackness of Night” and a “Cold. Tenebrous. Evil” music video.

Rising heavy rock collective THE DEVIL’S BLIND HORSE is set to unleash their electrifying new single, “Dragon,” this Friday, November 29, on all major streaming platforms. Alongside this highly anticipated release, the band has dropped a gripping lyric video, available now on YouTube: Watch the lyric video here.

Dragon,” described as a mid-tempo, riff-heavy powerhouse, is the first release from THE DEVIL’S BLIND HORSE, a project driven by the creative vision of guitarist, producer, writer and founder Alex Knoll. The track features the band’s signature fusion of hard rock, metal, and progressive elements, topped with the soulful energy of vintage Hammond organ and Mellotron.

“THE DEVIL’S BLIND HORSE is an unabashed celebration of all of the things that I love about music” says Alex – adding: “It is the journey in pursuing the music that I hear in my head… It’s my definition of that perfect collection of sounds and songs, artistically earnest and uncompromising, from beginning to end.”

The track showcases an all-star lineup of musicians, including VK Lynne’s commanding lead vocals, Rikard Zander’s (EVERGREY) keys, Johan Niemann’s (EVERGREY) thunderous bass, and Dicki Fliszar’s (BRUCE DICKINSON) propulsive drumming.

“Dragon” marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for The Devil’s Blind Horse. The group is already gaining buzz for their forthcoming EP, “…Alas, we ride…”, expected to drop in 2025.

Knoll, a veteran of the Los Angeles metal scene with a storied past in 999 Society and a brief stint in SPINESHANK, has crafted a unique soundscape with THE DEVIL’S BLIND HORSE. Drawing inspiration from legends like BLACK SABBATH, DEEP PURPLE, ROBIN TROWER, GRAVEYARD and OPETH, the band’s music transports listeners to a golden era of rock and roll, imbued with fresh energy and innovation.

PATHOGENIC – Premiere Video For “Mass Grave Memory”

Posted in Death Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news with tags , , , , , , on November 24, 2024 by Metal Odyssey

Boston’s PATHOGENIC is set to make a triumphant return with the release of Crowned in Corpses, a brutal and immersive display of progressive tech death. This marks their first full-length release in over half a decade, promising a bold evolution of their signature brand of progressive tech death, while retaining the intensity that has defined the band for years.

This is evident in the album’s first single, “Mass Grave Memory.” The band has partnered with Metal Injection for the exclusive premiere of the official music video for the song. Watch now at this location.

PATHOGENIC vocalist Jake Burns reveals the song’s lyrical themes:

“’Mass Grave Memory’ asks the ultimate question: what do we gain when we destroy everything? It’s a vivid portrayal of nuclear war’s aftermath — the searing light, the choking ash, and the silence of a world undone. Above all, it stands as a stark warning of what will await us if humanity loses control.”

Skepsis Recordings will release Crowned in Corpses on February 7, 2025. Pre-order the album now at:

www.skepsisrecordings.com.

Track-listing:
1) Mass Grave Memory
2) The New Rot
3) Dead But Not At Rest
4) Exiled from the Abyss
5) Fragments
6) Crowned in Corpses
7) Drag Your Crosses
8) Silicon Regime

Stream more PATHOGENIC on YouTubeSpotify and Apple Music.

Out of Boston’s depths emerges PATHOGENIC, a force unshackled from hiatus and reborn with Crowned in Corpses. Over 42 punishing minutes, this progressive death metal quintet weaves together labyrinthine riffs, relentless rhythms, and chilling visions of a decaying world.

In 2022, the band’s resurgence was ignited when original vocalist Jake Burns and new drummer Tyler Montaquila joined forces with guitarists Chris Gardino, Justin Licht, and bassist Dan Leahy. Together, they’ve forged a sound that is ferocious, intricate, and unapologetically heavy, delivering metal that demands to be heard.

PATHOGENIC has shared stages with legends like Suffocation, Revocation, and The Faceless, and has annihilated crowds at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and RPM Fest. Known for their high-octane live performances, the band’s energy and command leave audiences with no choice but to headbang furiously.

Set to release on February 7, 2025, through Skepsis Recordings, Crowned in Corpses is a ferocious musical declaration: eight tracks of devastating power and haunting warnings of the darkness that lies ahead.

GUTLESS gave us one of 2018’s filthiest demos. Two years later, we saw a split release with Mortal Wound. Now, six years after that demo, we are finally getting the debut album. Strap in; this one is going to be nauseating…

Instantly they cave in your skull with maniacal riffing and unrelenting drum assaults. If you can’t withstand the might of Death Metal, turn back fast. The equally violent vocal attack will seal the deal as the insanity creeps further into the cemetery, searching for prey.

GUTLESS has that perfect blend of old-school savagery while retaining their personality and sound that doesn’t feel like a diluted version of a superior band. Snap-neck rhythms and visceral grinding warfare will certainly have even the seasoned maniac tearing at their flesh in morbid ecstasy as this short but sweet opus erupts pus into their ear canal.

If you need more convincing, take a look at that cover art; reminiscent of the 90s while striking in its own right. You had better believe the album is just as damaging as that brick. Contorting and convulsing into tormenting visions of the macabre, GUTLESS contradicts their name by dragging out your entrails repeatedly across eight indomitable cuts of sadism and brutality. The underground still has plenty of bite down under and these fiends proudly showcase one of the nastiest examples you will hear this year!”

Track Listing:

  1. Bashed And Hemorrhaging
  2. Beyond The Catacombs
  3. Scalpel Obsession
  4. Avalanche Of Viscera
  5. Galvanized
  6. Carved Into Existence
  7. Gore God

Demo Streaming, Cassette Available + Debut LP In The Works For 2025 Release

Creator-Destructor welcomes California death metal crew BARBAROUS to the label’s roster, issuing a cassette version of the band’s demo and locking the band in for the release of their debut LP next year.

Based in Oakland, BARBAROUS is influenced by the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Skeletal Remains, Necrot, and Gatecreeper, the band hit the ground running since coming onto the scene in April 2024, having played shows with performing live alongside the likes of Laceration and other across the Bay Area over the past few months.

BARBAROUS’ two-track demo, Coup De Grâce, dropped in September, and while succinct, the tracks displayed the band’s monstrous tones and honed attack. Its drums and bass were tracked at Rapture Recordings, the guitars were recorded at Dongflopper Studios, and the vocals were tracked at Silver Bullet Studios, after which the tracks were mixed and mastered by Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios (Vastum, Necrot, Ulthar) and fitted with cover artwork by Aesop Mongo.

Napalm Death are credited as pioneers of the grindcore genre by incorporating elements of crust punk and death metal, using a noise-filled sound that uses heavily distorted, down-tuned guitars, grinding overdrive bass, high-speed tempos, blast beats, and vocals that consist of incomprehensible growls or high-pitched shrieks.

Their music features extremely short songs, fast tempos, and sociopolitical lyrics. Even after exerting an indelible influence on the entire world of heavy music for nearly 40 years, there is still no band on Earth that sounds like Napalm Death. Not just pioneers, but an enduring benchmark for invention and fearlessness in a heavy and experimental music of all kinds, the Birmingham legends are still hurtling forward at full pelt.

The Melvins are one of modern music’s most influential bands. Having formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington, the group – founded by vocalist/guitarist Buzz Osborne, with drummer Dale Crover joining a year later – has been credited with merging the worlds of punk rock and heavy music, forming a new subgenre all their own. Over their 40-plus-year career, they’ve released more than 30 original albums, numerous live records, and far too many to count singles and rarities.

Recent releases include 2024’s Tarantula Heart, an album that Osborne wrote songs based on a series of improvisational live sessions, the six-song 2022 Bad Mood Rising, and Five Legged Dog (2021), an ambitious 36-track acoustic collection that reimagines their heaviest songs alongside covers of their favorite artists.

SAKAHITER – Italian Black Metal Act Signs To Time To Kill Records

Posted in Black Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news with tags , , , on November 16, 2024 by Metal Odyssey

Today, Time To Kill Records is pleased to announce the addition of Italian black metal act SAKAHITER to its evergrowing and varied roster. The band will release their new album in the coming months.

Stay tuned for more details, the first single and pre-orders, which will launch soon!

Biography:

The band was formed in Campobasso in 2002 under the name SAKAHITER, which in the Oscan language means “let it be sacrificed.”

More specifically, it referred to the sacrifices of men and animals to propitiate the gods before a battle, a ceremony deeply rooted among the Samnites. Oscan was chosen because it is the ancient language spoken by the Samnites, a warrior people originally from a restricted area of southern Italy centered in Molise, Campania, and Basilicata.

From the very beginning, SAKAHITERidentified their genre as Samnite Black Metal, as both the lyrics and iconography reflect Samnite history.

In 2003, they released their first demo, “Lex Sacrata,” recorded in Rome at the Temple Of Noise Studios, using as the cover an 1879 engraving depicting the defeat of the Romans at the hands of the Samnites and the humiliation of the Caudine Forks.

After several live performances and some lineup changes, SAKAHITER recorded “Omnes Eiura Deos,” a 7-inch vinyl, again in Rome but this time at the 16th Cellar Studios, released in early 2005.

With a new lineup, in 2021, SAKAHITER signed a contract with Nova Era Records to release a new EP, “Legio Linteata,” and to reissue “Lex Sacrata.”

The band boasts numerous performances supporting acts such as Sodom, Dismember, Onslaught, Belphegor, Master and Necrodeath.

Line-up:

Hirpus – Vocals
Flauros – Guitars
Mamerte – Guitars
Hrim – Bass
Alastor – Drums

GRAVE DIGGER – Unleash New Video Single “Killing is my Pleasure” From Upcoming New Studio Album: Bone Collector

Posted in Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news with tags , , , , , on November 15, 2024 by Metal Odyssey

2025 will see German metal institution, Grave Digger, celebrate its 45th anniversary. Founded in 1980 in Gladbeck, they set out to conquer the world; who would have thought that 45 years later Grave Digger would be one of the most important, consistent and influential metal bands from Germany. With the release of their ground-breaking debut Heavy Metal Breakdown in 1984, an unprecedented career began that will find its logical continuation with their forthcoming, 23rd studio album Bone Collector, slated for a release on January 17, 2025 via ROAR!

Following the previously-released, first album appetizer “Kingdom Of Skulls”, the heavy metal titans are today premiering a video clip for their brand new single “Killing is my Pleasure”

Stream the song on all digital services at: https://gravedigger.rpm.link/killing

Watch the visualizer video clip premiering HERE

Band leader Chris Boltendahl reveals“There it is – the new Grave Digger single, “Killing is My Pleasure”… It’s based on a riff created by bassist Jens Becker in collaboration with guitarist Tobi Kersting. The song’s lyrics are inspired by the infamous mafia contract killer Richard Kuklinski, who was believed to have committed over 200 murders before his death in 2006. Known as the “Iceman” due to his cold-blooded nature, Kuklinski had a family with three children and would leave his home every day like any ordinary “nine-to-five” worker.

Musically, the new single is a piece of pure heavy metal – no frills, just direct and uncompromising. The chorus drills into your head and it’s hard to get the song out of your mind!”

Produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Boltendahl, optically set in scene by Brazilian artist Wanderley Perna, Bone Collector marks a work of art that heralds a new era.

“Here it is at last, our new studio album, true to the motto: #gravediggeroldschool. With Tobi Kersting in the band, we have focused on the essentials of our sound again after many years with numerous concept albums: Concise straightforward metal songs that burn themselves into your brain stems after the first listen. “Bone Collector” doesn’t sound like off-the-shelf stuff, but highly energetic, fresh and you’ll notice that we had a lot of fun with the songs. We’re looking forward to your reaction, the release of the album in January and 45 years of Grave Digger live with you,” Boltendahl recently said.

Bone Collector will be released as a CD digipak, picture vinyl, colored marbled vinyl, RPM exclusive splatter vinyl and digitally. At the RPM & ROAR Mailorder Shop, the limited splatter vinyl and the digipak are also available as a bundle with the exclusive “Old School” shirt.
