A son of Poseidon, J.P. Krom is a Chilean writer/composer, singer/guitarist, and one of a few who cultivate the gothic metal style in the country. His music is a blend of astrological /esoteric concepts overlaid with the sounds and structures of gloomy metal, which are further enhanced with stunning visuals. Initially inspired by an astral chart, an irresistible invitation to the esoteric he began to hone his classical training into the both brooding and effervescent music that is found on the third album “AstroMetal” set to be released later this fall. In the meantime, he offers the Spanish single “Luna Plutón”, which invokes harmonious leads and bassy vocals that draw you in. Krom comments:
“Luna Plutón tells us about dark family secrets, kept in the dark of our minds. Secrets we all have, and some knowand they use them to manipulate, generating resentment and an obsession with these emotions fixed in the deep. It seems that nothing can purge our blame, that most of the time we try to deny.”

“Astrometal” contains six intense, deep, and powerful tracks, which are an obvious evolution from the 2021 EP “YOD”, affirming the gothic metal style that better suits J.P. with his “smoke voice”. Alongside “Luna Plutón”, the forthcoming EP has tracks “Woman Hermit” (dedicated to a Tarot card), “I Tried” (for Venus and Saturn), and “Breaking the Walls”, which features an epic symphonic arrangement that takes us to the past through ancient times. “You & I” is a love song, a declaration from a father to his son, and finally rounded out with the experimental-electronic track “I Don’t Feel Love”, a sad and introspective tune.
With “Astrometal”,the listener is invited to travel to dark passages, with sticky melodies, and uncover an esoteric listening experience, a polished and powerful sound, with a deep “smoky” voice crooning out into the abyss. J.P. Krom is recommended for fans of Type O Negative, Lacrimas Profundere, and Paradise Lost.
The melodic metal band Justice Theory from Finland releases a new song “Fireborn“. 2012 founded thrash metal band has evolved towards a more melodic sound.
Guitar player and vocalist Valtteri Saharinen backgrounds the single: “‘Fireborn’ is an anthem for all individuals who have been oppressed or pulled down by nonbelievers. They want You to believe that You are nothing and all Your attempts to succeed in Life Will ultimately fail. That’s not true…
I wanted to tell You By this Song that no matter what They say it’s YOU in The end WHO decides what You can achieve in Your Life. No One can tame The Flame inside You – that makes You Fireborn.”
Here For None, the new album from Finnish metal powerhouse featuring Janne Wirman (Children Of Bodom) is out now worldwide via Reaper Entertainment!
Here For None heralds a new era. True to the motto, “The king is dead, long live the king,” WARMEN is not only headed towards heavier shores musically due to the band’s updated lineup, but it can also be said with justification that WARMEN is taking on the musical legacy of Wirman’s former band in a spectacular way.
“I will always be Janne from Bodom. That’s okay with me. I’m happy about it and I don’t have to hide my past. I also see that as a positive thing for WARMEN,” Wirman notes of his good reputation and the attention he gets within the metal scene. Together with his brother Antti Wirman and longtime friend Jyri Helko, the trio has recuited Seppo Tarvainen on drums as well as Petri Lindroos (Ensiferum) on vocals to make Here For None a true masterpiece of melodic death metal.
The band adds, “We are not only super excited about the release of the new album that we are so proud of but also about the fact that the album release show [took place] at the great Summer Breeze festival!”
Here For None is available on vinyl, digipak CD, and digital formats at THIS LOCATION.

In support of their hotly-anticipated, fifth studio album “Everfrost”(postponed for a release on September 22, 2023) via AFM Records, pre-order HERE!
“In “Fate of the Atlanteans” we ask humanity, if it does not realize that if we do not change our way of dealing with our planet, we will face the same fate as in Atlantis history and thus the destruction of our world.” The band comments. Watch their new lyric video now streaming HERE:
As the “Winter” stands for nordic viking and folk metal, the “Storm” for fast-paced power metal, combined with epic and orchestral metal facettes, on “Everfrost”, WINTERSTORM shines in a new splendor. It’s the melodic grandeur, that clearly marks the foreground of WINTERSTORM, reflected in heavily catchy choruses and colossal, polyphonic vocals. Striking elements of different metal styles merge with each other and get a completely new impression, that WINTERSTORM’s new album may be their most versatile and powerful album to date; one that does not have to hide behind proved genre colleagues such as Blind Guardian or Rhapsody Of Fire.
“Everfrost” will be coming out as CD Digipak, limited clear blue Vinyl and Boxset on September 22, 2023 via AFM Records, the pre-sale is available at THIS LOCATION!
On January 19, 2024, Swedish melodic power metal act METALITE will release their forthcoming studio album, Expedition One, and sees them unleash their most gigantic record to date!
Following the previously-released, first single, “Disciples Of The Stars” and a haunting, in-depth album trailer, today, METALITE are premiering a music video for the powerful anthem “Blazing Skies“! Join the Expedition One, and watch their official, new music video now premiering HERE:
Expedition One tells a fictitious story about life on our planet in the year 2055. The band’s upcoming magnum opus inspires with a wide range of diverse compositions and an intelligent sci-fi story that couldn’t be more topical. In addition, their fourth album offering manifests the musicians’ amazing artistic development.
METALITE‘s visionary sci-fi trip is told over sixteen multi-faceted songs that combine the quintet’s many strengths: powerful and at the same time delicate guitar riffs and solos, anthemic melodies courtesy of vocalist Erica Ohlsson, driving rhythms and cleverly positioned keyboard parts. Expedition One was produced by guitarist Edwin Premberg, and was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen. The pre-sale of this early 2024 album highlight, one that belongs into every well-sorted power- and melodic metal record colection, is available via AFM Recordsat THIS LOCATION!
“In the past four or five years, our sound has evolved considerably,”Premberg recently said.“The quality of our production in particular has progressed considerably since our debut.”
“We are really excited to release this bombastic song together with this epic video made by Ted Lindén at Bullsize Production.”METALITE comments.“The song is truly a blast in a classic Metalite style and it feels that we have leveled up a few steps since last time. We hope everyone will like it and we looking forward to play it live!”

Following an ambitious multi-year tour that saw the band bring their heavy metal power to Europe, Canada and the USA, the Australian heavy metal band ELM STREET finally returns with their third studio album: “The Great Tribulation”! The album will be released as CD Digipak, Ltd. Vinyl LP and Digital formats on October 27, 2023 via Massacre Records, the pre-sale is now available at THIS LOCATION!
A soundtrack for troubled times, or a charred mirror reflecting the state of the world today, “The Great Tribulation” provides commentary on the darker side of life, and pairs it with the band’s most ambitious and hard-hitting music to date. While ELM STREET‘s first two albums, “Barbed Wire Metal” and “Knock ‘Em Out… With A Metal Fist”, have both been revered as modern classics by fans of traditional-flavoured heavy metal, “The Great Tribulation”seeks to take the template set by the two albums preceding it, and amplifies it by several notches, resulting in the band’s most powerful, complex, and heavy performances recorded to date.
Everything about “The Great Tribulation” encapsulates a band at the peak of their powers, ELM STREET have left no stone un-turned in expressing their diverse musical palette, resulting in a wide-ranging collection of songs that stand tall individually, but extremely powerful as a collective unit.
Give ear, as tthe band is premiering a music video for their first single “Take The Night”! At just over 2 minutes long, it’s the shortest and most direct song the band has produced to date, without sacrificing any of the trademark power and fretboard fireworks they are known for.

ELM STREET: Ben Batres – Vocals, Rhythm Guitar Aaron Adie – Lead Guitar Nick Ivkovic – Bass Guitar Tomislav Perkovic – Drums
“The song was written at the very start of the writing sessions, and is a throwback to simple, catchy, party metal anthems we’ve all grown up enjoying.“ The band comments.
Brutal thrash four-piece INTENT are following up their 2022 full-length Exile with an equally bloodthirsty offering. The upcoming EP, Sins ofthe Pastthat will be released on September 1st, breathes new life into a selection of tracks originally released on their debut record Vox Populi. The new single “Number 12 (Looks Just Like You)” is streaming now.
“We wanted to record these tracks because when we recorded our first album, our budget and other resources were very limited. In the end we felt we didn’t do the songs justice. Years later, now that we have more experience producing our own records, we thought it would be fun to take some of our favorite tracks from our debut and do them the way they were intended.”
Sins of the Past – Track List:
Number 12 (Looks Just Like You)
Insight
Network Failure
Kicking off with “Number 12 (Looks Just Like You)”, INTENT deliver a ferocious onslaught of high speed rhythms and thundering percussion. The incessant crushing bass drum hits and heavy rhythms are utterly relentless. Continuing to inject a monumental display of power, “Insight” brings a vicious attack of unceasing riffs, aggressive chugs and menacing vocals. Entering into foreboding realms, “Network Failure” begins with intriguing groove bass lines and rhythmic percussion, before bursting into a full on offensive strike of raging heavy.
About INTENT: Formed in 2015, the Arizona based INTENT subsequently underwent a number of line-up changes and spent time developing their sound before heading into the live scene. The outfit soon began opening up for bands like OVERKILL, DRI, and HAVOK to name a few. 2018 saw the release of their debut album Vox Populi, and in 2022 the release of Exile showcased the thrashers’ hard work as they cultivated the next era of their sound. The upcoming EP sees the quartet continue on that trajectory.
INTENT: Jeremy Lambert – vocals/guitar Alec Trow – Guitar Patrick Murphy – bass Garrett Loper (Rest in Peace) – drums
Following their much-acclaimed debut album,“The Burying Point” (released on April 28, 2023 via Fiend Force Records, licensed by Massacre Records), DARKER DAYS has unleashed a new single – a cover version of “Deep Dark”, originally performed by influential US horror punk band Mister Monster!
Mister Monster’s only album is considered to be an early genre classic of the second phase of horror punk, and it became influential to lots of bands of the second and third horror punk phase. Salem, Massachusetts-based DARKER DAYS have recorded their version of the song as part of a tribute compilation which has been in the making so long that the band decided to release it now and to celebrate their appearance at the hugely popular Horror Hound Weekend in the US, where they will not only play a show with the leading modern horror punk Band Blitzkid but also appear at the convention with horror legends like Robert Englund or Rose McGowan.
Listen to the DARKER DAYS version of “Deep Dark” HERE
Says DARKER DAYS guitarist and song writer Nick Sullivan about “Deep Dark”: “Mister Monster is legendary. For us they are right up there with Blitzkid, AFI and the Misfits as one of our biggest influences as a band. Jason was always so kind to us while we were coming up in our early years with previous bands we were all in. We had always talked about doing a Mister Monster cover, and it wasn’t easy choosing any of their songs. We all love “Deep Dark” and felt like it was the perfect song for our style.”

Danish/American hyperthrash band TERMINALIST today unleashes a new video for “Mutating Fractures,” the second single from their impending second LP, “The Crisis As Condition”, out in early September on Indisciplinarian.
Just as on their debut album, TERMINALIST teamed up with producer Lasse Ballade, “The Crisis As Condition” recorded and mixed at Ballade Studios in Copenhagen and mastered by V. Santura (Triptykon, Dark Fortress) at Woodshed Studios in Germany. Also, the same as the first album, British painter Ryan T. Hancock is again responsible for the unique artwork, and photography is handled by Theis Wilmer Poulsen.
The disturbing video for “Mutating Fractures” was created in cooperation with videographer Johan Von Bülow. TERMINALIST vocalist, lyricist, and guitarist Emil Hansen elaborates on the song theme, stating, “The crises we face affect and worsen each other. Whether we’re talking climate, war, or inequality, these issues each play a part in a larger whole. ‘Mutating Fractures’ is an attempt to convey this message through imagery inspired by the Covid crisis where the crises resemble fractures constantly mutating, presenting new problems along the way. It’s a deeply pessimistic track which, although catchy and riffy, also itself mutates, diverting from the original theme before the last reprise.”
Watch the video for the new TERMINALIST single “Mutating Fractures” RIGHT HERE and stream the single HERE.
“The Crisis As Condition” will be released September 8th on LP – gatefold with 100 on Orange Vinyl and 300 on Black Vinyl – as well as CD, CS, and digital formats via Indisciplinarian. physical formats can now be preordered at the label webshop HERE. Also watch the video for the album’s title track HERE.
TERMINALIST has just supported sci-fi legends Voivod in Copenhagen, where the band will also play its release show at Loppen, Christiania on September 8th with support from power thrashers Exelerate. Additional live excursions are to be expected following the album’s release.

While RAIDER is known for their sheer unbridled savagery, the overarching theme of their music is deceptively positive. “Life is hard the whole way through and each and every one of us has our own personal hell to contend with in order to find meaning,” the band elaborates. “We want to be a voice that is in your corner of the ring for the battles we face together, and the battles you face alone. That being said, there is no rule that facing life’s challenges should make us perpetually miserable and that is what our live show is all about. We want people to feel welcome no matter who they are or where they come from, and to have FUN with us. If we can bring people joy and empower them even just a little bit to take on the next big thing, we have done our work.”
I’m so exceedingly exhausted of the thousands of lists I see on social media ranking who the greatest guitarists of all-time are. I won’t name the very popular publication that “ranked” Brian May as #1 aka “the greatest ever”. That ranking alone was enough for me to vomit and luckily I didn’t. My point is these clickbait lists are completely biased, whether compiled by a single person or group of people.
I’m not saying Brian May is a terrible guitarist; in fact he would probably be in mypersonal list of 100 greatest guitarists somewhere. Just not at #1 for the love of God. The only good that these lists generate are debate and discussion, I suppose many would say. End of my opinion. To conclude, without posting a nonessential list, the guitarist that is my #1 all-time is Jimi Hendrix and that resonates more historical than picking Brian May.
Only minutes after midnight, today, I discovered on my WordPress insights stats page the rather shocking “unknown region” listed on the visitor countries list. What!? What in the hell is an “unknown region”? It’s 2023 and I would think that our planet Earth has been completely mapped out! Hell, there is a thing called Google Earth that has data on every centimeter of our planet. Apparently… not good enough.
Yup. That “unknown region” is shown above like a beacon of the damned.
The creepy vibe of “unknown region” resonates my fears of Rob Zombie films and The Walking Dead Universe. For crap sakes. Next time someone asks me where I’m going, I’ll answer with: to an “unknown region”. God save us all. The creep meter has burst on this new revelation I uncomfortably stumbled upon.
Is an “unknown region” outer space? A portal to hell? A cave dwelling far beneath the Great Sphinx of Giza? Is it that humongous hole rumored to exist in Antarctica? A parallel universe? My guess is as good as yours. I won’t even try to ask WordPress support for the answer for they obviously don’t know either.
What is even more chilling is who visited my blog from that “unknown region”? Is it a Reptilian? Elvis? Mothman? A spirit from the other side? An evil troll from inner Earth? Something to ponder. Hopefully, one day our civilization will finally discover this “unknown region”. Metal be thy name – Stone.
