SLAVE ZERO – Back on November 10th, 2013, Ireland’s SLAVE ZERO released their EP: Disambiguated Visionary. Man, it’s a killer and I’m not exaggerating one minuscule bit. This fantastically talented Metal band utilizes the elements of Death Metal, Grindcore, Hardcore and Progressive Metal in such a grand fashion that it scorches my brain! Hell yes, SLAVE ZERO can easily be tagged as an Extreme Metal juggernaut.

To say this release is a MUST for fans of the heaviest Metal genres known is a gross understatement. ALL underground and Extreme Metal fans should be required to own this EP from SLAVE ZERO. My eyes nearly pop out of my skull, as I listen to all 5 songs on Disambiguated Visionary; honestly, that’s what it feels like! How can I explain it any better than that?

The vocals are psychotic, guttural, demonic and blistering, so choose your favorite or all of the above! Musically, this EP is an explosion of Metal sound that ripped into my face and left me hitting the repeat button for more self-inflicted Metal battery. Lightning fast Metal, Extreme, Grinding and insanely addicting is this EP and SLAVE ZERO are to be reckoned with. Metal be thy name.

IHATE – Chris Barnes Launches Vicious New Death Metal Project; Preview Track Posted + Special Pledge Music Preorder Packages Now Available

Six Feet Under founding throat/Death Metal icon, Chris Barnes, is pleased to bring fans his latest work of sonic deviance in the form of the fittingly christened, IHATE. A venture inadvertently launched between Barnes and multi-instrumentalist/fellow horror enthusiast Bob Taggett, their as-yet-untitled debut promises to deliver eight violent tracks of raw, unrepentant, Death Metal brutality and lyrical depravity.

Relays Barnes of the project’s formation, “Early last year I got a message via Facebook from someone named Bob and Bob said to me, as a lot of people do, ‘I have some songs and I’d like you to sing on them. Can I send you a song so you could check it out?’ I get a lot of these requests and didn’t think too much of it, but since I was just fresh back from a tour and a little bored, I decided to entertain the idea of listening to a song from Bob. After receiving an email with the first track that was attached to a video which more or less mapped out a murder storyline, I thought it was really different, and definitely creepy visually. And there was something very primitive and energetic to the attack of the music. It was very driven. I could feel it instantly. I knew this wasn’t a joke and wasn’t done half-assed. The music I was listening to was aggressive as a knife carving chunks of flesh off a body. Putting the music to a video caught my attention, immediately, as to Bob’s focus. I found it all really interesting. I have almost always worked from a storyline in my head for my lyrical inspiration and my own imagination, but never have started from the standpoint of lyrically scoring a storyline already laid out on video first, like scoring a film. That seemed really exciting to me as a writer as well as a vocalist. I emailed Bob back and told him I would love to be involved with making this album with him. So one thing led to another and we began writing and recording. We are very close to finishing the album and have enlisted the good people at Pledge Music to help us reach out to all of the fans who we hope will help us make this album a reality.”

As for what true death metal miscreants can expect from the IHATE end product? “To me, it really is a masterpiece of brutal, violent death metal,” says Barnes, “I’m really stoked that if got to work on this album. The fans know that I’m no stranger to writing some sick lyrics, but the stuff I have come up with this time is entirely over-the-top even by my standards. I really want the fans to hear this album and dig into the storylines of the songs. This is the first time I’ve used crowd-funding to make and release an album. And it’s been a very challenging, interesting learning experience along the way. And an eye-opener as well. We are really hoping the fans of death metal will make a pledge and preorder our new album. It’s really important to us that this album gets released. This is brutal as fuck.”

OMNIZIDE – “Death Metal Holocaust” Coming January 31st On Carnal Records

Band Bio:

The story of OMNIZIDE goes back to 1995 when Nox and Anders formed the black metal band BELZEN together. A few years later BELZEN split up. Nox joined CRAFT and Anders started the band AVSKY. When Nox did some guest vocals on AVSKY’s album Scorn, Anders and Nox decided to start BELZEN again. They changed the name to OMNIZIDE and recruited drummer Gaddur from the band KAFZIEL. In 2011 the Pleasure from Death EP was released. Later, guitarist Jesper joined the band and Death Metal Holocaust was recorded. After the recording was complete, bass player B-Force (DARK FUNERAL) joined the fold.

Cold as ice, angry as a horde of Viking warriors and determined like an army fighting for freedom of their homeland: THUNDERWAR! The band was born in 2013, when four young Metal maniacs decided to join their forces to not only pay tribute to such Metal heroes as BATHORY, UNLEASHED, DISSECTION and AMON AMARTH, but to prove that Poland has again something to say to the metal world.

The debut EP “THE BIRTH OF THUNDER” was mixed and produced by Wieslawscy Bros from HERTZ STUDIO (BEHEMOTH, VADER, DECAPITATED). The band’s logo was designed by Christophe Szpajdel (EMPEROR, MOONSPELL, DESASTER) and the cover artwork of “The Birth of Thunder” EP was done by Mario Lopez.

Sacramento Death Metal behemoths, THE KENNEDY VEIL, today spew forth the teachings of their “Necrotic Gospel.” Hosted by the crypt keepers at Stereokiller, the latest tune comes courtesy of the band’s soon-to-be-released Trinity Of Falsehood full-length.

Produced by Nick Botelho at NB Recording in Santa Rosa, California and featuring the debut of new throat Taylor Wientjes, Trinity Of Falsehood is an unapologetically methodical, fast-paced display of sharp, groin-churning DM brutality. In a 9/10 review of the offering, Dead Rhetoric champions the band’s, “no-frills, modern death metal… heavily rooted in the speed and technicality of Origin and the fury of Decapitated,” further boasting, “THE KENNEDY VEIL has thrown down the death metal gauntlet for years to come.

ARSEBREED – Extreme Death Metal Militia Completes New Album With Necrophagist Drummer Romain Goulon

Dutch Extreme Death Metal militia, ARSEBREED, recently completed the recording of their forthcoming Unique Leader full-length with current Necrophagist basher Romain Goulon behind the kit.

In an official statement the band elaborates: “In 2006, just after [former drummer] Floris [De Jonge, Mangled] left ARSEBREED, we got in contact with an unknown young French guy. He said he knew us from our other bands, Pyaemia and Disavowed. We all agreed on a try-out. After only one month, he e-mailed saying he had learned our songs. Slightly skeptical — one month is really quick — we bought him his plane ticket and flew him in. Once in the rehearsal room, he nailed it! Flawless, relentless, speed and accuracy! We instantly knew that this unknown young guy from France, Romain Goulon, was the prefect drummer for ARSEBREED. Unfortunately, the best kept secret in death metal was soon discovered by the rest of the world and in 2007 Romain fled ARSEBREED to join Necrophagist. Nevertheless, last year we once again got in contact with Romain. We started talking about these ten songs that we had written over time, just waiting for a drummer… and we were stoked to hear that he was willing to record them! This week we received the recordings. More than seven years later we got that exact same feeling that we had back in 2006 in that rehearsal room. Insane. Romain proved once again that was and is the one and only drummer for ARSEBREED. He is unsurpassed in creativity, technique, speed, perseverance and grasping the concept of the ARSEBREED songs as no one else. Finally! We waited for more than six years but it was worth the wait! Thanks Romain!”

Formerly known as Bloodcum, ARSEBREED was spawned in 2000 and is dedicated to the execution of brutal, uncompromising, US-styled death metal in the vein of Deeds Of Flesh and Deicide. The follow-up to 2005’s Munch The Rotten will be unleashed later this year via Unique Leader Records. Further info to be announced in the coming weeks. Chaotic Tapestry presents French blackened death metal outfit Svart Crown will be returning to the UK for a headline tour in association with Terrorizer Magazine after a successful run last year with Nile.

Corpsessed was spawned from putrescent slime in 2007. Vocalist Niko Matilainen, guitarist Matti Mäkelä and drummer Jussi-Pekka Manner were joined by guitarist Jyri Lustig and (de)composing of morbid Death Metal tunes began at the rotting houses of Järvenpää delta-area. The group’s original bass player, Mikko Mäkelä, disappeared in unknown circumstances and was replaced later in 2009 by Mikko Pöllä.

Corpsessed’s first EP The Dagger & The Chalice was released on CD by Dark Descent Records (USA) in May 2011. The vinyl version released by Me Saco Un Ojo (UK) in co-operation with Dark Descent (USA) in October 2011. That release was followed up by a two-track, self-titled 7-inch EP in 2012. The band recently completed work on their debut full-length album, Abysmal Thresholds.

From the depths of Californian crypts, FDA Rekotz presents bone-breaking Death Metal act MORFIN and their debut album, Inoculation. Comprised of 10 classically-inspired death metal hymns – including a surprise cover tune – Inoculation crushes faces in the vein of early Death, Gorguts and Skeletal Remains. The album was recorded at Executer Studio in Pico Rivera, Calif., (Skeletal Remains), with artwork by Badic Art (Skeletal Remains, Goregast, Demonical, Dehuman Reign).

TRENCHROT – To Release Debut Album “Necronomic Warfare” On Unspeakable Axe Records

Death Metal war machine TrenchRot are unleashing their debut Necronomic Warfare upon the world and none will be spared. With influences ranging from other war-themed bands like Asphyx and Bolt Thrower, to the vomitous vocals and epic, soaring lead work of Obituary’s Cause of Death, this is an old school Death Metal album that doesn’t feel self-conscious about being what it is. It just crushes everything in its path, and leaves the bloodied listener staggering away… and grinning ear to ear.

Members are in other promising new bands, such as Crypt Sermon – whose first demo will see a cassette release from Dark Descent Records soon – and Infiltrator, and promise to soon be well-known names in the underground.

Polish Death Metal legends VADER are currently working on the follow-up to their highly acclaimed 2011 album, “Welcome To The Morbid Reich”. The new album will be titled “TIBI ET IGNI” and is set to be released in spring 2014 via Nuclear Blast. Together with producers Wojtek and Slawek Wies³awski, the band has entered Hertz Studio in Bialystok (Poland).

VADER commented:
“The next chapter, a new bible for all those hungry for extreme massacre and dark challenges is called: TIBI ET IGNI “For You (and only You) and Fire” – so we can translate from latin this pretty symbolic title. Ten songs (+bonuses) are in plans to be created…. More details soon. Will we set anxiety in your minds? We film the recording process to show the whole thing in a while. Of course, we’ll keep you informed about each next step in recordings regularly. STAY ALERTED!!!!”

THUNDERWAR BIO:

Cold as ice, angry as a horde of Viking warriors and determined like an army fighting for freedom of their homeland: THUNDERWAR! The band was born in 2013, when four young metal maniacs decided to join their forces to not only pay tribute to such Metal heroes as BATHORY, UNLEASHED, DISSECTION and AMON AMARTH, but to prove that Poland once again has something to say to the Metal world.

The band’s debut EP “THE BIRTH OF THUNDER” was mixed and produced by the Wieslawscy Bros from HERTZ STUDIO (BEHEMOTH, VADER, DECAPITATED). Their logo was designed by Christophe Szpajdel (EMPEROR, MOONSPELL, DESASTER) and the cover artwork of “The Birth of Thunder” EP was created by Mario Lopez.

EMBLAZONED – Wisconsin Blackened Death Metal Machine Enters Studio

Wisconsin Blackened Death Metal machine EMBLAZONED has returned to Belle City Sound in Racine, Wisc., to record the band’s as-of-yet untitled full-length album. The album will be the follow-up to the critically acclaimed EP, The Living Magisterium, which was released September 3 via Deepsend Records.

Tracking for the album is almost complete, with mixing and mastering getting underway next month. Production duties are being handled by Chris Wisco (Jungle Rot, Gorgasm, Nachtmystium, Broken Hope). Fans of the EP will not be disappointed in what is shaping up to be the bands most intense offering to date. No official release date had been set yet.

DOWN FROM THE WOUND – To Release “Violence And The Macabre” February 4th On Comatose Music

Comatose Music has announced the February 4 release of Violence and the Macabre from Philippine Brutal Death Metallers DOWN FROM THE WOUND. After signing with Comatose in October 2012, DOWN FROM THE WOUND went to work on the follow-up to their 2007 debut, Agony Through Rituals of Self Purification. The results see the band return with 50 minutes of flesh-shredding Southeast-Asian brutality with old-school atmosphere and organic production.

DOWN FROM THE WOUND are no strangers to the death metal scene; they have been punishing eardrums since 2002 with their nasty combination of inhuman breakdowns and technical riffing reminiscent of bands like DISGORGE, GORGASM and LUST OF DECAY. On February 4 violence will prevail.

Sons of Sleaze delivers its unfair share of nasty surprises, incorporating violent blasts and low-tuned slime with a dirty rock-and-roll backbone that has never been more apparent, especially when it comes to Jon Necromancer’s undead belch! The impossibly heavy combination of Necromancer’s bass and Carcass Chris’s muscular guitar riffs is once again captured in all its devastating glory, and drummer Joe Warlord’s huge vocabulary of patterns and fills keeps the energy level in the red for the entire 37-minute beating that is Sons of Sleaze.

Held together by a cover that could only be called “a new low” for artist Putrid, this album is highly recommended for the rotten-hearted, ill-natured, and furious!
