THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE was forged in 2010. Within a year, they were touring regularly and had self-released their debut album, Know Your Exits. By 2013, independent metal label Density Records unleashed their second album, Invivo [Exvivo].
Further touring ensued with the likes of I Declare War, Fit For An Autopsy, Thy Art Is Murder, and Kublai Khan. The prolific act would go on to release five more full-lengths, each earning Billboard chart placements and reaping critical accolades both stateside and abroad.
Emerging from the crucible of reinvention, BURIAL PATH, one of the most electrifying voices in the deathcore underground, has released their latest single “Magnum Opus.”
From the opening surge to its final resonance, “Magnum Opus” embodies the transformative journey of the self: from destruction, to dissolution, to rebirth in gold. It is a sonic alchemy that combines visceral intensity with hauntingly ethereal soundscapes, evoking both the brutality of collapse and the beauty of transcendence.
“From flame to form, the self dissolves and reignites. Gold flows where the old self burned. The great work begins,” the band declares.
The single’s lyrics delve deep into themes of ego death, purification, and rebirth, drawing on esoteric imagery:
‘Calcination, a rebirth takes hold, Through vitriol these veins flow of gold. Ego death, reflection, unification within the cycle…’
With “Magnum Opus”BURIAL PATH continues to redefine deathcore, expanding the genre’s boundaries with both philosophical depth and sonic ferocity. The track serves not only as a declaration of artistic evolution but also as a ritualistic invocation, a call to embrace transformation in all its violent, radiant beauty.
About BURIAL PATH:
Formed in 2023, BURIAL PATH consists of Aïcha Finnleikr (vocals) and Jack B (guitar) from Texas, and Nebraskan Matthew McClure (guitar). Their sound is a refined evolution of Deathcore, leveraging modern production to craft an atmosphere that is both entrancing and resonant, designed to evoke deep emotions and provoke thoughtful introspection through their music.
Montreal (QC) – Canadian bruisers, Deadwood, have signed to Innerstrength Records! The band is set to release their new EP, Rituals of a Dying Light, on January 6, 2026.
A music video for the EP’s first single,”Heretic,” is available at: youtu.be/qd3b7p4zTug
“Heretic” can also be found on the usual streaming platforms, including Bandcamp, Spotify, and Apple Music.

Known for their heavy music and dark lyrics, their motto is “Make Deathcore Angry Again.” The band aims to evoke terror and fear through their music, ensuring their performances are unforgettable. Most importantly, the music of Deadwood caters to enthusiastic metalheads who crave pure brutality and violence.
The EP’s second single, “Tales of Masscacre,” is set to be unleashed with lethal intent on October 17.

Music and lyrics by Deadwood. Recorded at EMNT studio January 2025. Produced by Fred Element. Mix and mastering by Fred Element.
Formed in the shadow of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Deadwood quickly carved out a place in the heavy scene with their dark, unrelenting sound. The lineup unites seasoned veterans: guitarist Fred (ex-The Plasmarifle, ex-Ion Dissonance), guitarist Stéphane (ex-Nova Spei, Iron Maiden tribute), drummer Charles (ex-Dismayd, Discovrey Through Tourment), and vocalist Derek, reuniting with Fred after a decade since their days in Malaga.
Drawing from the ferocity of Meshuggah, the brutality of Whitechapel and the groove-driven power of Pantera, Deadwood deliver crushing riffs and haunting atmospheres steeped in true dark histories, from the Salem witch trials to the reign of Jack the Ripper.
Their catalog includes the EP Nemesis (2022), EP Inhuman (2023), and standout singles “Straightblade” (June 2023), “Djinn Pitts” (March 2024), and “Heretic” (April 2025). Known for their commanding live presence, Deadwood has toured Japan with Humanity’s Last Breath and DVRK, stormed U.S. stages in 2025, opened twice for Born of Osiris in Montréal, and shook the grounds of Inkcarceration Festival 2025.
Currently on tour across Québec, Ontario, and New Brunswick, Deadwood is gearing up for their first European run in 2026, bringing their brand of dark, murky heaviness to stages worldwide.

Evolution drives longevity. WITHIN THE RUINS relentlessly pushes forward, incinerating complacency and innovating out of its ashes. The Western Massachusetts quartet of Joe Cocchi (guitar), Kevin McGuill (drums), Paolo Galang (bass, clean vocals), and Steve Tinnon (lead vocals), razes convention with a sonic sensory onslaught anchored by polyrhythmic bludgeoning, head-nodding grooves, viscerally evocative vocals, and vivid storytelling.
Their controlled chaos has resulted in tens of millions of streams (a rarity for acts this uncompromisingly heavy), packed houses on tour, and widespread acclaim courtesy of Alternative Press, American Songwriter, Loudwire, Metal Injection, Phoenix New Times, and many more.
2024’s Phenomena II serves as the sequel to the WITHIN THE RUINS’ lauded Phenomena full-length. “We had written a handful of songs, and we were searching for inspiration,” recalls guitarist Joe Cocchi. “We wanted to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Phenomena, because it was a pinnacle point of our career. I wrote a demo that reminded [vocalist] Steve [Tinnon] of Phenomena. So, it was his idea to create Phenomena II. The styles really aligned in terms of the unique guitar effects and the themes where each track tells a story from a comic book character’s point-of-view.”

In additional news, Deadwood unveiled their most harrowing work to date with “Heretic”, the lead single from their upcoming EP Rituals of A Dying Light slated for release later this year. The accompanying video plunges viewers into a nightmarish realm that perfectly complements the band’s brutal, fast-paced sonic assault.
The comment on the single and what the audience should expect:
“This is the first song we’ve written for the next EP and one of the ones we’re most proud of, it’s fast, heavy, and technical. We are a very intense show with a very percussive and tight guitar sound. We have a lot of samples between the songs to create a horror movie atmosphere. The fans go back home with a slap in the face. Heretic represents our darkest material yet.”
The Montreal-based collective, known for its mission to ‘Make Deathcore Angry Again,’ draws inspiration from centuries-old horror stories and myths. The track delivers the uncompromising heaviness and terrifying atmosphere that have become Deadwood‘s signature since its 2020 formation.
The band’s unique blend of death metal and hardcore elements reaches new heights of intensity with this release, promising an unforgettable auditory experience for fans who crave pure brutality. They are recommended for fans of Whitechapel, Despised Icon, and Meshuggah.
“Thank you to everyone who has bought and streamed “Hymns in Dissonance” and contributed towards us charting. Metal is alive and well and we are grateful for such supportive fans 19 years into our career.”
Nuclear Blast Records is proud to welcome Missouri’s burgeoning extreme metal wrecking crew DISEMBODIED TYRANT to the label’s thriving roster. With one of the most distinct new sounds in heavy music, the volatile four-piece have already amassed a global cult following with their intense amalgam of blackened deathcore and progressive symphonic metal.
In the span of only a few short years, DISEMBODIED TYRANT has released a handful of singles and an EP that have garnered millions of streams, while performing a mind-blowing set at New England Metal & Hardcore Festival and North American tour with FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE and SHADOW OF INTENT that have sparked a firestorm of anticipation for what’s next for the band.
Commenting on the signing to Nuclear Blast, founding songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Blake Mullens says:
“It’s an honor to be joining the Nuclear Blast roster, alongside some of my all time favorite bands/artists. Disembodied Tyrant has only ever been supported by myself internally, and to now have an entire team behind us is a dream come true, I’m very eager for what the future holds!”
Nuclear Blast America’s label manager and head of A&R, Tommy Jones adds:
“I’ve never signed an artist that never played a show live, until Disembodied Tyrant. I just felt so solid on their music and their team, that I rolled the dice. I saw the band’s 8th show ever at New England Metal and Hardcore Fest while they were supporting Fleshgod Apocalypse. After the performance, I hugged Blake and said in his ear ‘thank you for confirming my decision’.
The world is not ready for the insanity of Disembodied Tyrant, but you don’t have a choice. It’s about to get disgusting.”
Along with the signing announcement, comes the brand new single ‘8.6 BLACKOUT’; an unrelenting track of raging chaos.
Mullens says of the song: “This song was one of those rarities where the vision stayed consistent throughout the entire process, it became exactly what I imaged it would from day one. This is a huge pivot thematically from the previous material, coupled with the video I think it’s quite the statement.”
Fans can catch DISEMBODIED TYRANT on their North American tour with CHELSEA GRIN, SHADOW OF INTENT and SIGNS OF THE SWARM this spring.

Canadian deathcore band, A Scar For The Wicked (ASFTW), have released a new guitar playthrough video for their latest track “Drowned In Gluttony,” off their 2024 album, Acolythus. This release follows the album’s success which hit the shelves last November 7th, and it continues to deliver the intense and raw energy that the band is known for.
The playthrough video, featuring the song’s third track, captures the thematic essence of gluttony and madness depicted in the song’s lyrics. It tells the haunting tale of a literary writer consumed by his past terrors, using Edgar Allan Poe’s chilling line, “I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity,” to portray his dark descent into insanity. The video showcases the band’s guitarists blindfolded, a testament to their exceptional skill and the song’s intense emotion. Their blindfolded performance not only highlights their technical mastery but also adds a visual depth to the themes of blindness and madness that pervade the track.
Musically, “Drowned In Gluttony” kicks off with a potent, heavy riff setting a somber and powerful tone. It progresses into intricate guitar work and concludes with a compelling solo, emphasizing melodic complexity and the band’s signature sound. The track’s breakdown provides a gripping moment of contrast, enhancing the overall intensity of the composition.
Fans of A Scar For The Wicked can watch the new playthrough video HERE and experience the gripping combination of complex guitar riffs and deep thematic content that the band consistently brings to their music.

The following year saw the release of the debut EP Scars, with subsequent EPs The Necrobutcher and The Unholy landing in 2014 and 2018 respectively. Across their career, the band have have brought their unyielding energy to festivals around their home state, and notably have shared stages with heavyweight acts including WHITECHAPEL, THY ART IS MURDER, BORN OF OSIRIS, ARCHSPIRE, and CHELSEA GRIN.

Red Deer, AB extreme metal outfit Art of Attrition unleashes their latest single “Subserviate & Decay”. The track showcases the band’s signature blend of relentless brutality and melodic complexity while pushing into bold new territory.
“Subserviate & Decay” delivers the classical Art of Attrition sound that fans have come to expect – a devastating combination of 8-string guitars, gravity blast beats, and guttural vocals – before taking an unexpected turn after the bridge breakdown. The band expands:
“It is modern primitive. It embodies all you love about Art of Attrition and then slaps you in the face with a caveman club. We loved writing this song, recording the parts, and developing its uniqueness in our catalog. It serves as a visceral reminder of the necessity of internal self-love and confidence.”
Since their formation in 2019, Art of Attrition has carved out their niche in the extreme metal landscape; their 2023 debut album The Void Eternal and 2024’s …And It Will All End Forever established them as a force in the technical deathcore scene. The single represents a conscious step outside the band’s comfort zone, incorporating elements from other genres they love. It is especially recommended for fans of Lorna Shore, Aversions Crown, and Kublai Khan.
In additional news, Art of Attrition along with2024 Wacken Metal Battle Canada Champions, Toronto, ON’s Beguiler be hitting the road across Canada, east to the west this May for “The Subservient Bloodletting Tour” (dates listed below). This cross-country trek marks a new chapter for both bands as they expand their reach, unleashing their most punishing sets to date along with new songs to unveil. Red Deer, Alberta’s ART OF ATTRITION announces they are hitting the road this May to bring carnage straight to your city alongside 2025 Wacken Metal Battle Canada Champions, Toronto, ON’s BEGUILIER. Formed in early 2019, Red Deer, AB’s Art Of Attrition is a band that redevelops “the typical” deathcore sound by delivering aggression with melody, atmosphere with intricacy, and brutality with technicality. Combining ferocious work ethic with refined musicality, their songs challenge the notion that deathcore cannot evolve or be unique.
In July 2024, they unleashed their EP …And It Will All End Forever to follow their 2023 debut albumVoid Eternal. As a whole, their latest EP brought listeners disgusting breakdowns, matched by speed and intense guitar work that channeled emotions such as anger and anxiety. Hauntingly memorable solos gave way to epic choruses that share relatable moments. A whirlwind of deathcore, it’s matched with classic black metal, and capitalized with bits of groove and creative drum parts.
On February, 14th, 2025, Art of Attrition will unshackle their first single of 2025, entitled “Subserviate & Decay”. The new song is an experimentation of some particular ideas that the band has over the years. With such diverse musical tastes, Art of Attrition is bringing some evolutionary ideas into their material for a new world order to “throw down”.

WHITECHAPEL will release their long-awaited new full-length, Hymns In Dissonance, on March 7th via Metal Blade Records.
“There is nothing nice about Hymns In Dissonance, from the riffs, to the lyrics, to the overall vibe of the album,” says guitarist Alex Wade of the band’s latest output. “We attempted to write our heaviest album to date. We wanted to put out something that was shockingly menacing and brutal.”
“The album follows the story of a cultist who is gathering worthy people to join his cult,” Wade further elaborates, “and there are moments in the storyline where the cult followers are singing an evil hymn to open a portal for the head cultist to enter.”
The band’s dynamic, brutal musicality serves as a soundtrack to the compelling lyrical story that vocalist Phil Bozeman vividly imagines. “Hymns In Dissonance is a mockery of the true nature of what hymns are,” Bozeman explains. “Hymns are melodious and harmonious. Dissonance is the opposite of melody and harmony. Dissonance represents evil. The tracks on the record are the hymns, which represent the seven deadly sins, beginning from track three to track ten. Tracks one and two are the introduction.”
The lineup’s timely and terrifying vision was first unveiled in the Fall of 2024 with the single “A Visceral Retch” inciting frenzied fans to call the song “a version of WHITECHAPEL we have never heard before. Can’t explain how absolutely goddamn brutal this song is. This is a total dream come true.” The title track is the LP’s second single.
WHITECHAPEL, who formed in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 2006, has seen the core lineup — vocalist Phil Bozeman, guitarists Ben Savage, Zach Householder, and Alex Wade, and bassist Gabe Crisp — intact since 2007, with the exception of drummer Brandon Zackey, who has been playing with the band since 2022. While Hymns In Dissonance follows 2021’s Kin chronologically, the new album is actually somewhat of a sequel to This Is Exile thematically, the three-word title Hymns In Dissonancerepresenting that correlation.
The band started composing the new album at Householder’s studio in June of 2023, following their headlining tour for The Valley. The collective stuck to a strict weekday schedule, the structure allowing for maximum creativity and minimum burnout. Householder produced Hymns In Dissonance, which allowed the musicians to seamlessly switch gears from preproduction to recording the full album without skipping a beat.
The guitarist shadowed producer Mark Lewis a lot over the last five WHITECHAPEL albums and bringing that influence inside the band is a full circle moment for Householder and WHITECHAPEL. “It’s cool that we can be self-sufficient and produce a record of this magnitude ourselves; not a lot of bands can say that.”
In advance of the release, today the band unleashes a video for the title track. Notes Bozeman, “It’s about [the storyline’s cultist] building his cult of followers: Only the most heinous and vile people on the planet showing their devotion to their lord, committing horrible acts, and the leader showcasing his power and his purpose to commit the seven cardinal sins to resurrect their lord, and to replace divinity with evil.”
Adds Wade, “Mostly written by Phil on guitar, ‘Hymns In Dissonance’ has a few riffs and tweaks thrown in by the rest of us. He can churn out some pummeling riffs and it’s one of the best songs on the album because he had a vision for the whole song with the riffs and vocals. It’s tuned to Drop G which we have been using since the self-titled LP, but the ending breakdown shifts down one whole step to Drop F, which we have never done before. Having the final breakdown shift lower than the rest of the song really helped the end have the crushing feeling it needed.”

WHITECHAPEL released their standalone single, “A Visceral Retch,” in September. Relentlessly slamming, ominous, and punishing, the track delivers a dark, twisted theme about gluttonous overlords who test the lengths to which humans will go to survive and join their cult.

The audio for Live In The Valley was recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered by WHITECHAPEL guitarist Zach Householder and serves as a chapter closer before the band begins work on their ninth studio album.

BODYSNATCHER will be touring in support of their punishing Bleed-Abidefull-length, released last year on MNRK Heavy. Recorded by the band’s Chris Whited at 1776 Recordings with drums engineered by Neil Westfall and Bud Phillips at The Unicorn Room, and guitars re-amped by Phil Pluskota at Sonic Assault Studio, the record is callously grim, ferocious, and threatening, crackling beneath the weight of its own fury and power. BODYSNATCHER’s Bleed-Abide puts the “core” back in deathcore.
Bleed-Abide is available now on CD, LP, cassette, and digital formats at THIS LOCATION.

Kaotoxin records is proud to announce the inking of a multi-album deal with French Deathcore masters DEEP IN HATE.
Born in 2004 and having released two full-lengths before signing to Kaotoxin, Deep In Hate, who features Nicolas Basto (ex-Aborted / L’Esprit du Clan) on drums, evolved from a technical Deathcore outfit to a much more personal brand of melodic and catchy, yet still technical, brand of Deathcore. The band’s focus is on writing catchy tunes and developing an oppressive atmosphere by blending dark melodic hooks with technical leads and wall-crushing breakdowns in a very dark, suffocating and yet utterly efficient way.
Touring with the likes of Black Dahlia Murder, appearances at Sonisphere and other European festivals and an inherent desire to push the boundaries of brutality to unimagined levels have all lead Deep In Hate down an evolutionary path that plateaus this June with their Kaotoxin Records debut, Chronicles of Oblivion.
With a massive production and artwork by Above Chaos (Hellfest, Bethlehem, Nightfall), Chronicles of Oblivion features nine heavy and intense, yet melodic song-oriented tracks. Rooted less in tech-metal than previous efforts, Deep In Hate seek to develop a more hook-laden approach to Deathcore. This shift is demonstrated in the new music video they’ve unleashed in support of Chronicles of Oblivion. Recorded live at Sonisphere 2013, the video for “New Republic” can be seen below:
Chronicles of Oblivion – Track Listing:
Introduction
Genesis of Void
The Cattle Procession
Altars of Lies
New Republic
The Unheard Prayers
The Divide
Wingless Gods*
Beyond
*features guest vocals by Sven de Caluwé (Aborted)

Bay Area Technical Deathcore band, RINGS OF SATURN, recently parted ways with drummer Jesse Beahler. Despite the setback, the band has tapped Black Tongue/Infant Annihilator drummer Aaron Kitcher to play on their upcoming new full-length. In an official statement, the band elaborates:
“Our drummer, Jesse Beahler, has made the decision to leave RINGS OF SATURN in order to put all his concentration into his other band, Black Crown Initiate. It was awesome touring with him, and we wish him the best of luck in his future musical endeavors! Despite this unfortunate news, we want to announce that we are officially working on a new record! Because of our drum situation, Aaron Kitcher from Black Tongue and Infant Annihilator has agreed to play drums on our third album. We are super excited about this and feel that his input will really blow people’s minds on our new material. Aaron will not be joining the band because he is already committed to two very active bands. So, we are looking for a touring drummer who can play material from Embryonic Anomaly, Dingir, and will also be down to learn songs from the new record so we can hit the road on tours to support the upcoming release. If you are an epic drummer who is up for this, send some play through videos our way!”
