Blackfoot, the Southern American Rock band who were originally formed in 1970’s by current lead guitarist of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rickey Medlocke, are back with a new line-up and will release Southern Native on Loud & Proud Records, August 5, 2016. Over the last two years, Medlocke wrote, performed on and produced Southern Native.
Blackfoot has always been defined by their hard rock edge as evident on their most successful singles “Train, Train” and “Highway Song.” In 2012, under Medlocke’s sturdy guidance, he recruited a completely new ensemble. The Jacksonville, Florida-based foursome, including lead guitarist/vocalist Tim Rossi, guitarist/vocalist Rick Krasowski, bassist Brian Carpenter and drummer Matt Anastasi, are carrying the torch for the next generation with their hard-driving sound.
“This record is head to head old school meets new school, classic to new rock for a brand new generation!” says Medlocke, “Turn it up loud!”
Rickey bridged the generations by having his grandfather Shorty Medlocke play on those early Blackfoot records,” said lead guitarist/vocalist Tim Rossi “so having Rickey play slide and other guitar with us on this record bridges the modern gap. It’s a full-circle kind of thing.” That forward-moving proof can be found deep within the music of Southern Native, from the proud heritage callbacks of the title track to the tasty slide-driven travelogue of “Take Me Home” to the harmonic ramrod-riffage twist on Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s powerful “Ohio” (which includes quite a shrewd lyrical shout-out at the end).
Blackfoot have toured extensively over the past few years re-igniting their fanbase while introducing the new Blackfoot music and its members to fans of other Southern rock artists such as Skynyrd. Blackfoot will be touring all summer in support of Southern Native.

BREAKING NEWS:Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce the signing of Jack Russell’s Great White to the label.
Jack Russell’s Great White represents the next phase of the iconic singer’s Rock n’ Roll legacy.
Since Jack Russell’s Great White inception in 2011, the frontman welcomed back longtime bassist and friend Tony Montana—this time as a guitar player and keyboardist—lead guitarist Robby Lochner (Rob Halford), drummer Dicki Fliszar (Bruce Dickinson) and Dan McNay (Montrose) on bass. The new album on the horizon, which is Jack’s 14th studio album, boasts the bluesy hard rock stomp that made Russell an icon in the first place.
“I want to say how happy and excited I am about my band,” states Jack Russell regarding the recent signing with Frontiers for the new album. “I have so much respect for Serafino, Mario, Derek and their team and am so thankful to be working with them. The band and I are off the hook about the new material. You are going to love it!”
The Grammys nominated Great White [Band] originally broke out of the Los Angeles scene in 1984 with its self-titled debut. The record was followed by the sophomore release Shot in The Dark and then by seismic platinum-selling outings such as 1987’s Once Bitten… and 1989’s …Twice Shy (which reached #9 on the Billboard Album Chart). Moving over 8 million copies worldwide, they stood out as tried-and-true rock stalwarts into the 21st century until 2011, when Russell went on to form Jack Russell’s Great White.
In 2014 JACK RUSSELL’S GREAT WHITE gave fans a taste of new music with the release of the single “Hard Habit” which received rave reviews from fans clamoring for the “classic” early sound of GREAT WHITE. Listen to “Hard Habit” HERE:
Ultimately, the new music is for the millions of fans who stuck by Russell all these years. It’s everything they’ve been waiting for and more. Russell leaves off, “this is fun, first and foremost. I feel like I’m 27 again. I hope it sounds like Great White—but for 2016.”
Frontiers plans to release the new record in early 2017.

In what promises to be Stryper front-man Michael Sweet’s most intense solo release to date, “One Sided War” showcases a full plate of hard rock & classic metal riffs from start to finish. One Sided War marks Michael’s 7th studio solo album and it clearly proves that he is still at the very top of his game! “I’ll tell you about it”, says Michael, “Musically it’s my heaviest solo album. It’s not thrash metal but there are definitely some songs on there that will pop out at you. There are some songs that have a bit of the Iron Maiden / Dio feel to them, as well as some songs that have a little bit of a Van Halen influence to them. It’s a very guitar-oriented, hard rock/metal album with lots of melodies and hooks!”
Surrounding himself in the studio with Whitesnake guitarist Joel Hoekstra, Evanescence drummer Will Hunt, bassist John O’Boyle and East Coast shred-master Ethan Brosh, Michael began creating what would soon be known as “One Sided War”. Michael states “Originally I planned on showcasing my own guitar playing; I was going to do it all myself, but once I brought Joel & Ethan into the picture, things began to take a new direction and I am very happy with what we have accomplished”. Says Ethan Brosh about working with Michael, “He’s one of those guys who have always been at the top of their game and has just never lost it and for me to be a part of this is very special”. Joel Hoekstra comments “Michael and I actually go back to my time in Night Ranger when we opened for him when he was playing with Boston. Ever since then we’ve just been kind of collaborating and this is sort of a natural evolution getting to play on a few songs on his solo album”.
The fast and furious opener “Bizarre” ignites the album’s pace with its lightning fast riffage, soaring vocals and blazing guitar solos. Tracks like “Can’t Take This Life”, “One Sided War”, “Golden Age”, “I Am” and “Comfort Zone” keep the metal fires ablaze, while tracks like “Radio”, “One Way” and “You Make Me Wanna” bring the hard rock vibe to the forefront . “One Sided War” features only one ballad, “Who Am I?”, a heartfelt, passionate song that reminds us of the softer side of Michael’s talents. Closing out the disc is a bonus track; it’s a different version of the song “Can’t Take This Life”, a duet with Michael and 16-year-old up-and-coming female vocalist Moriah Formica. If you are a fan of Michael Sweet / Stryper or a fan of classic Hard Rock & Metal in general “One Sided War” is an absolute must have, you won’t be disappointed! Official release date is August 26, 2016
The CD was tracked at Spirithouse Recording Studios in Northampton, Massachusetts.

BREAKING NEWS:Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the signing of Dario Mollo’s CROSSBONES.
Best known for his partnerships in the The Cage with Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) and Voodoo Hill with Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion, Deep Purple, California Breed), Italian guitarist Dario Mollo began his career in 1981 with the band Crossbones. With them, he released his first studio album in 1989, which was produced by Kit Woolven (Thin Lizzy, MAGNUM, and UFO, among others) before getting involved in the production side of things himself.
“This new project, “CrossBones” was created with the intent to pay homage to the band from where it all started,” says Dario. For the occasion, he brought back the drummer of the original lineup, Ezio Secomandi together with his regular collaborator Dario Patti on bass and keyboards.
The choice for the singer is Carl Sentance (Nazareth, Don Airey Band, Persian Risk, KROKUS, who came at the suggestion of Don Airey of Deep Purple, during a recent visit to Dario’s home.
“This album includes the best of all the experience I gathered in my career in music and in artistic production,” concludes Dario. The quality of the material he recorded is witness to that.
The album is planned for release towards the end of 2016, with tour dates to follow.
Metal Allegiance has announced they will release a special EP, entitled Fallen Heroes, on August 12, 2016. The band united to pay homage to the 3 legends – Lemmy Kilmister Motörhead, David Bowie, and Glenn Frey – who impacted not just their lives but the world as well.
“The end of 2015 and most of 2016 has been a brutal year with many of our heroes passing,” comments Mark Menghi. “When Portnoy called me in January to alert me that Glenn Frey had passed, I literally broke down. That night after having a few Tequila Sunrises in Glenn’s honor, a lightbulb went off… We’re going to record a few tunes to honor our fallen heroes. I called back Mike that evening and asked him what he thought and the next day we were in the studio recording. By weeks end, all guitars, drums and bass were complete. I can’t begin to explain the influence that Glenn Frey, Lemmy, and David Bowie had on me. Each of their music has helped me immensely during some real dark periods of my life and not to mention their influence on me as a musician and songwriter. Lemmy is God, Glenn is King and David is the Architect.”
Alex Skolnick comments: “These brilliant artists have an extensive catalogue that is sometimes on the softer side (with the exception of Motörhead, of course). So when it came to The Eagles & Bowie, we specifically chose tunes of theirs that are riff-based and translatable to high energy arrangements. For Lemmy, we immediately crossed out “Ace of Spades” (great tune but the last thing the world needs is yet another cover version) and chose “Iron Fist,” which we already had a good handle on from playing live and to us is every bit as much a signature Motörhead tune.”
“I’m really excited to be a part of the Fallen Heroes EP” comments Alissa White-Gluz. “I think we have all felt the weight of losing so many great musicians this year. I think these songs are a cool way to pay tribute to a few people who contributed so much to the world of music and showcase a different side of ourselves.”
Recorded at Conclave Studios in New York City, Fallen Heroeswas produced by Mark Menghi, Alex Skolnick and Mike Portnoy. The album was mixed by Jay Ruston in Los Angeles, CA and mastered at Sterling Sound New York City by Ted Jensen. The initial sketch of the artwork was created by Mark Menghi and Stephen Thompson (Anthrax) and was later finalized by Marcelo Vasco Arts (Slayer).
On July 2nd, 1987 – The third studio album, Among The Living, from the great ANTHRAX was ranked at #72, on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart.
On July 2nd, 1987 – The Japanese Metal band EZO had their self-titled studio album ranked at #150, on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. Now, that’s a Metal blast from the past! Whoa! FYI: The legendary Gene Simmons produced this album. Whoa, again!
On July 2nd, 1987 – PRETTY MAIDS had their second studio album, Future World, ranked at #174 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. How cool was that? Answer: very cool!
On July 2nd, 2016 – The newly released studio album, Magma, from GOJIRA is ranked at #4, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart. Jeepers!
