Dark times are close indeed. For too long have mankind suffered under the rules of the Elite. It is time to spread the word of their Point Zero Solution.
Masterminded by award-winning director Patric Ullaeus (www.revolver.se); today Deals Death unveil the official music video for ‘Point Zero Solution’, the title track of their upcoming and much-anticipated album. ‘Point Zero Solution’ will be released via Spinefarm Records on 13th of September.
Watch ‘Point Zero Solution’ Here:
Guitarist and song composer Erik Jacobson comments: “Point Zero Solution introduces the factors that lie behind a weakened society, a failed state. The lyrics deal with our human behaviour and our quest for comfort and luxury, at any cost.”
A prevailing theme throughout, vocalist and lyricist Olle Ekman comments on the album as a whole. “It’s a step-by-step description of the process which breaks down the systems of nature and society, our false hopes, our credulity towards authority and the belief in eternal growth.”
“You cannot fail to be impressed from start to finish.” 5/5 – Brutalism
“Primed and ready to destroy with each and every song.” 10/10 – The Grim Tower
“Those who thought that Deals Death with ‘Elite’ had already reached their peak, are fundamentally wrong.” 96/100 – Ashladan
“Deals Death, ‘Point Zero Solution’, definitely has that special something.” 9/10 – Metal Temple
“The best Gothenburg album for a very long time.” 8.5/10 – Necroweb
“A huge leap forward in the quintet’s evolution.” 8.5/10 – Dead Rhetoric

Northern hyperblast kings KATAKLYSM from Canada know one thing for sure: to stay in the game you have to work hard continuously!
So these guys keep releasing awe-inspiring extreme metal albums regularly and seem to be on the road pretty much the rest of the time.
After the release of their latest studio album “Heaven’s Venom” (2010) and the massive anniversary live package “Iron will” (2012), their highly anticipated new record “Waiting for the end to come” will see the light of day on October 25, 2013 and it’s surely going to butcher the competition, once again.
Above: Eliran Kantor cover artwork
Above: Peter Sallai cover artwork
KATAKLYSM guitaristJean-Francois Dagenais helmed the production of this upcoming masterpiece of brutality and melody once more, while legend Zeuss (SUFFOCATION, HATEBREED and many more) took care of the mixing. The artwork by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, HATEBREED) will be featured on the deluxe digipak and LP versions of their new album and the cover by Peter Sallai, who is known for his artworks done for SABATON, will be featured on the standard jewel case and limited edition cassette tape versions.
Check out this trailer previewing Peter Sallai´s cover and some brand new KATAKLYSM tunes below:
And KATAKLYSM wouldn’t be KATAKLYSM if they hadn’t already mapped out the next tour – they`ll embark on a European headlining run in January and February 2014 which marks their first tour on the old continent in almost 3 years, so all fans better buckle-up for this full-blown Death Metal onslaught which is about to gut Europe.
“It’s been almost three years since our last club tour in Europe and we are so excited to come back and blow off the roof of every club next January & February. We’ve built an album that will stand the test time and will need many headbangers, body surfers and mosh pits to give it justice and we are building a special show that you will never forget. This time, after almost a decade we have decided to tour the UK as well, after seeing the reactions at this years Bloodstock Open Air. There’s no doubt it’s time to come destroy. Raise your pints!” – Maurizio Iacono/KATAKLYSM
Supporting them will be Brazilian Death Metal veterans KRISIUN, who are working on their new and yet untitled album. FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE are also part of the billing and pose a special treat for sure! They mix brutal tech death with symphonic, opera-like arrangements. Their third album “Labyrinth” just came out.
WAITING FOR THE END TO COME PART 1: EUROPEAN TOUR 2014
Presented by Metal Hammer, Legacy, Musix, Noizeletter, Metal.de, Metallian, BLAST!
KATAKLYSM – The 11th studio album, Waiting For The End To Come, from Montreal, Quebec, Canada’s KATKALYSM, will be released in North America, on October 29th, via NuclearBlast. The ever legendary Death Metal pack of KATAKLYSM have historically been known for their incredible album cover artwork; Waiting For The End To Come is no different!
There will be 2 album cover versions for Waiting For The End To Come. Read below about both album covers and what they truly depict, as spoken from KATAKLYSM vocalist Maurizio Iacono. Metal be thy name!

As reported on the Facebook page of KATAKLYSM:
Set your eyes on the CD and Limited Cassette main artwork for WAITING FORTHE END TO COME from Peter Sallai!
“The album art depicts a child which represents innocence in humanity, covered in dirt and blood from life’s experiences. In front of him, his death represented by a reaper who comes to claim his soul for the afterlife, or the abyss. It’s open to the fans to decide with their own beliefs. In the end this is the transition between life & death.” – Maurizio Iacono (vocalist – KATAKLYSM)
…And below is the alternate album cover art! Read all about this cover image (below), via Nuclear Blast! Whoa!
KATAKLYSM have revealed the alternate cover art for their highly anticipated upcoming release Waiting for the End to Come. The artwork by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, HATEBREED) will be featured on the deluxe digipak and LP versions of their new album, which will be released on October 29th (North America) via Nuclear Blast.
The previously released cover by Peter Sallai (SABATON), will be featured on the standard jewel case and limited edition cassette tape versions.
“This other version of the new art made by Eliran Kantor represents a more iconic and epic approach,” commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono. “A man representing all of humanity, shaking the foundation of existence and ultimately beginning the process of destruction. The main foundation is depicted here as the famous KATAKLYSM ‘tribal sun’ logo. It does not represent the end of KATAKLYSM by any means; more the beginning of a new era after the end of a certain existence.”
AMON AMARTH – The ninth studio album, Deceiver Of The Gods, from Sweden’s Melodic Death Metal Kings, AMON AMARTH, was released on June 25th of this year, via Metal Blade Records. Metal victory has once again been achieved for AMON AMARTH! Solid songs, musicianship, vocals and lyrics are only just the beginning, with Deceiver Of The Gods. AMONAMARTH have quite possibly released one of their finest Metal works of their storied career.
AMON AMARTH have a catalog of stellar albums that are (rather) difficult to leap-frog, when I think of making comparisons within their discography. AMONAMARTH are undisputed Metal legends, therefore Deceiver Of The Gods (just) has to be grand. Right? It is! This new AMON AMARTH album, Deceiver Of The Gods, rages along with Melodic Death Metal majesty and is a sonic blast of what this band is so legendary for!
My favorite song on this album is Hel. Glory be to the Metal Gods, this song is impeccable! Hel has now become (quite honestly) my favorite AMON AMARTH song of all-time! Vocalist Johan Hegg and (former Candlemass) guest vocalist Messiah Marcolin compliment each other in eye-popping fashion; it’s Johan’s muscular growl meets Messiah’s falsetto.
The title track (and album opener) plus the closer Warriors Of The North are fist-pumping, headbanging and raise the horns to the sky epics! A well thought-out way of bookending the prime-rib delicacy of Metal that is Deceiver OfThe Gods. Northern Mythology is once again embraced within the themes of this new AMON AMARTH album; with the Norse God, Loke, being the current example; however, this album is not devoted entirely on this legendary figure.
AMON AMARTH continuously raises their own bar of excellence and I couldn’t be more sincere and psyched about that. I highly recommend Deceiver Of The Gods to ALL my fellow Metal brethren and consider it as a bona-fide Top Ten contender for Metal Odyssey’s year-end Best Of 2013 list.
HORLET – Underground Metal has its tried and true warriors, all over this big ball of rock we call Earth. Horlet is a band of such warriors and they call the greater Dayton, Ohio area home. Horlet is an underground Metal band that makes me proud. Quality Metal is reason #1 and a debut album that has literally left me awestruck is reason #2. The album is The Keys Of Life And Death; an album you cannot afford to not know about and pick up!
Horlet are unsigned and playing live at every chance they get. Horlet will be opening for Texas Metal legends HELLYEAH, on August 13th. Horlet has one of the very best Metal albums I’ve listened to in 2013; so rich with quality musicianship, vocals and songs, that the big and independent labels better find out about Horlet soon! Very soon. I am convinced that once any true Metalhead samples a song or two from The Keys Of Life And Death, they will be sold on Horlet. The production across the board is killer on this album, accentuating the conscientious work ethic of Horlet.
________________________________
Epic and (old school) Melodic Death Metal is the Metal forte of Horlet, while Thrash Metal fans will find plenty to cheer about with this album as well. There are four short interludes heard on The Keys Of Life And Death; all four are integral to the flow of this album and highlights the expansion of thought that Horlet wants the listener to be engaged in. If you’re like me, you will be convinced that Horlet has been recording together for many, many years; that’s how sensational all these songs come together. You shall be amazed by this band!
I cannot express any more loudly and clearly: Horlet is a turn-key Metal band for a Metal record label to sign, seal and Metal deliver to the Metal masses. The songwriting and lyrics are amazing unto themselves; coupled with the high tier musical skill sets of this band, the Metal future MUST be aglow with the Metal of Horlet. Underground Metal legends are not manufactured overnight. Horlet is the real fucking deal. Metal be thy name.
HORLET:

Keith Byerman – Guitar
Seth Mullins – Guitar
Eric Barnes – Drums

Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival Tour Currently Underway
_________________________________
In conjunction with their slot on this year’s edition of the Rockster Energy DrinkMayhem Festival, Swedish melodic death metal legion, AMON AMARTH, graces the cover of the August 2013 issue of Decibel Magazine!
Conducted by J. Bennett in Stockholm, Sweden, the intimate feature follows the band through their early days and escalating success, tour life, and the creation of their most compelling record to date:Deceiver of the Gods. A must-read for any AMON AMARTH disciple.
The recently unleashed Deceiver of the Gods was released in North America via Metal Blade Records on June 25, recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, UK, produced, mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap (Killswitch Engage, Megadeth, Opeth) and broke the band’s previous sales records around the world! The band is now in their second week on the Billboard Top 200 in the U.S. (week one: #19 and week 2: #59) and third week on the Top 100 Charts in Germany (week one: #3, week two: #13, and week three: #23)
Literally invading U.S. shores, AMON AMARTH’s main stage slot on the http://www.rockstarmayhemfest.com, currently underway, the band’s mammoth stage production, including a Viking Longboat and the amassing armies in the war between Odin and Loki, has lit up the internet with excitement for the band’s set.
Said Metalassault.com, “the stunning stage production was what really made this AMON AMARTH show stand out from their own past shows, and indeed from all other bands that played this festival.” Agreed Mxdwn.com “Perhaps the day’s best set came next at the main stage. Swedish Viking rockers AMON AMARTH delivered the best tenets of Scandinavian death metal. Fronting a massive mural of their new album Deceiver of the Gods… the band also proudly displayed a full-scale Viking battle barge as the centerpiece of their set design. Their drummer Fredrik Andersson was perched atop semi-hidden by the ship’s bow. The group’s equally large lead singer Johan Hegg bounded from one side of the stage to the other bellowing in his demonic howl. The title track from their new album and ‘Death in Fire’ were both great, but it was ‘Twlight of the Thunder God’ that packed the most punch and fury.”
AMON AMARTH is currently putting the finishing touches on the official video for colossal track Father Of The Wolf. The video will be unveiled in the coming weeks. Until then, check out the trailer now playing at the band’s microsite: http://deceiver.amonamarth.com.

Critical Praise:
“Deceiver of the Gods goes from rampaging to brooding to anthemic over a well-conceived trajectory…. This is an album that begs to be consumed in its entirety at every listen, just to get the full experience.” – Decibel
“No one delivers big, punch-in-the-face motifs better than AMON AMARTH, and the Swedish melodic-death-metal titans have excelled themselves on their ninth studio album… Not only does Johan Hegg deliver his fiercest growls ever, but he also duets mesmerizingly with operatic ex-Candlemass frontman Messiah Marcolin on ‘Hel.’” – Revolver
Swedish Melo-Death stalwarts Deals Death have announced a new bassist following departure of Fredrik Ljung earlier this year.
Guitarist Erik Jacobson introduces: “When we decided to go separate ways with Fredrik Ljung some time ago, we immediately set our focus on finding a replacement. And not just a new bass player but a new member who would fit the shoes of representing Deals Death on all levels. Power, strength and skill. Along with a mighty ambition to take it to the next level and a mind-set to fit our own. We could only think of one person.
We give you KAMMO OLAYVAR!
Be prepared to witness some heavy bass lines and a powerful performance from this guy. Born and raised in Sweden and blessed with Hawaiian blood, Kammo takes on the role as Deals Deaths bass player.”
Introducing himself to Deals Death fans Kammo comments: “I’m really excited to take on the role as the bass player of Deals Death. I feel honoured to be playing with such great musicians and can’t wait to deliver some bass tones to these killer riffs. See you all on the road this fall! Kick ass / Kammo.O”
Earlier this year the band confirmed completion of a third album and follow-up to ‘Elite’ which was released last year via Spinefarm/Universal and hinting that “the fall of 2013 will be interesting… very interesting.” Details for the third album other than that it will be released again via Spinefarm/Universal have yet to be revealed. DEBAUCHERY – Releasing on August 2nd, 2013, via Massacre Records, is one hell of an album straight from hell that I’m gratefully addicted to: Kings Of Carnage from Debauchery. This band of Metal hell assassins blend a fascinating mix of Death/Melodic Death Metal, with straight-up Thrash grooves wrapped around a powerful Metal sound; all coupled with Death and Blackened vocals with spine cracking, hellish gang vocals for good Metal measure.
There is plenty of Heavy Metal thump-and-stump across Kings Of Carnage and it’s riff-infested to the maximum Metal potential! The title track alone is worth the price of Metal admission here and Debauchery are not just convincing with their Metal; they are F’n convincing. This is an album that is quite ruthless with its ability to make my neck ache from headbanging and I’m very thankful for it.
Lyrically vicious and memorable as all hell, Kings Of Carnage reminds me that blood-soaked songs of carnage can pack my brain with true deathly bliss. Just a grand kick-to-the-Metal-ass release from Debauchery. With Victory Awaits, Debauchery also reminds me of just how victorious their new album truly is and I’m more than willing to join the Debauchery Motherfuckin Family. Metal be thy name.

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER are currently leveling stages as part of this year’s Van’s Warped Tour. At the Ventura, California stop of the trek, Brian Eschbach, RyanKnight, Max Lavelle, and Alan Cassidy, recorded their parts for Into the Everblack from the band’s new album, Everblack. The performance is streaming now at metalblade.com/bdm. Additionally, videos for each individual performance have been posted at youtube.com/blackdahliamurdertv.
Audio Hammer producer Mark Lewis comments specifically on Knight’s leads on “Everblack” stating, “Ryan Knight’s leads on ‘Everblack’ are nothing short of phenomenal. I grew up listening to the best in the era of shred, and I can honestly say these solos rank up there with the best, and beyond. They are not just technical solos in the athletic, ‘look how fast I can play’ sense; there is truly amazing harmonic content going in these leads. Any educated player will realize that the chord changes he is playing over are far more complex than anything you typically find in metal. Mix all that with absolutely world-class tone and vibrato, and you really have an amazing piece of work. It does not get better than this.”
THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER’s new music video for “Goat of Departure” was also recently made available, and be seen on youtube HERE. The video, directed by Ben Mayer, was filmed in the band’s hometown of Detroit last month. In typical TBDM fashion, it is over-the-top and even features the return of a classic TBDM character, and a real, live goat.

Celebrate your Friday with a hearty dose of Seventh Swamphony, the impending new full-length from Finnish Death Metal instigators,KALMAH, currently streaming in its entirety via Revolver Magazine.
Recorded at Tico-Tico Studios in Kemi, Finland, the follow-up to 2010’s critically acclaimed 12 Gauge release was mixed and mastered at Sweden’s Fascination Street Studios by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, Paradise Lost, et al) and showcases the Oulu outfit’s signature brand of frantic, yet melodic death metal tempered here by a new-found epic mournfulness.
Reaping critical accolades both domestically and abroad, Metal Reviews crowned KALMAH’sSeventh Swamphony “Album Of The Year,” calling the band “one of, if not the finest, melodic death metal bands.” Said Metal Temple is an 8/10 review: “From their blistering opener of Seventh Swamphony, to the windmill inducing finale TheTrapper, this album keeps the energy flowing nonstop. Pekka Kokko’s vocal work is solid with vicious growls and soul squirming screams that give an unearthly feel to the album.”
Adds New Noise Magazine: “Seventh Swamphony features quality over quantity and you will be aware of that on the first listen. Never have I heard the band so supercharged and ready to slaughter as they are featured here. Even the slower paced ‘Windlake Tale’ correctly utilizes a death growl vocal approach to its melodic folk and works well as a blueprint to show Amorphis what they’ve been doing wrong all of these years. Quite simply put, Seventh Swamphony might very well be one of the heaviest folk metal albums that I’ve heard in years and should go down in the band’s history as one of their most memorable releases.”
Hear for yourself, courtesy of Revolver Magazine at:
Seventh Swamphony will be released in North America via Spinefarm Records digitally onJune 18, 2013 and on CD June 25, 2013. For preorders, point your browser HERE. Additionally, if you missed it, check out the band’s “Seventh Swamphony” video courtesy of Metal Injection HERE.
Swedish Melodic Death metallers Deals Death made a public announcement; that after three years together they will be parting ways with bass player Fredrik Ljung.
The band comments: “There are times when everything is great, there are times when everything is bad. And there are times when different paths are chosen and you simply drift apart. Things like these are never easily decided and we thank our friend and bandmate for three awesome years and wish you a brilliant future.”
Fredrik made the following statement in response: “Dear friends and fans! As you now know, I have left the band. We saw it as the only way to go and I want to thank everyone who has gotten me and Deals Death to the point where we are at today. There are many reasons for my goodbye but I personally feel that I’m not on the same wavelength as the present band. And when you play in a band such as Deals Death you have to be able to give it your all! My last contribution with Deals Death is recorded and will be heard on the new album and I’m sure you´ll like it. I will continue with my other projects and have no intention to quit making music what so ever. I would also like to thank Deals Death for this wonderful time and great memories!”
Earlier this year Deals Death completed recording of their third full length album at Studio Abyss, Sweden, which is slated for a release later this year via Spinefarm Records. Full details are yet to be announced. The new record follows the highly acclaimed ‘Elite’ record which was released in 2012 also via Spinefarm Records.
