Louisiana Metal miscreants, GOATWHORE, will celebrate the release of their mammoth Constricting Rage Of The Merciless full-length with a meet and greet next week at the world-famous Grill ‘Em All brick and mortar restaurant in Alhambra, California! The event will commence at 7:00 pm on Wednesday July 16th. Fans will get to hang with the band, hear the record in full as well as purchase a copy if they haven’t already. Additionally, Grill ‘Em All will add to the unholy revelry with special Constricting Rage Of The Merciless fries – Hand cut fries smothered in creole gumbo with chicken, smoked sausage, and shrimp! On the following day in San Francisco, GOATWHORE will kick off a near month-long stretch of live incursions as part of The Summer Slaughter tour alongside Death Metal legends Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus, The Faceless, Fallujah and more!

PIG HEART TRANSPLANT – Iron Lung-Related Industrial/No Wave Project To See Release Via 20 Buck Spin

The second full-length of demolition from PIG HEART TRANSPLANT — the solo works of one Jon Kortland of Iron Lung – has been declared for release this September, as a conjoined release between 20 Buck Spin and the band’s own Iron Lung Records.

The alter ego of Jon Kortland, one half of surgical powerviolence duo, Iron Lung, PIG HEART TRANSPLANT delivers both a vicious beating and violent outcome, however the operating methodology is an entirely different animal; slow, churning, industrial, electronic, painfully percussive, a bureaucratic nightmare of State Power with gears grinding the individual into a hallow shell, perfectly molded into one of Them. This is 1984.

Kortland’s second opus, For Mass Consumption is composed of twenty-eight tracks, each approximately forty-four seconds long, each song bearing a four-letter word, structured in a perfectly palatable way for optimum group adoption and mindless adherence to common purpose. Electronic manipulation, no wave guitar noise, abrasive hammering and eerie synthetic ambiance imbue the listener with the seedy malaise of manipulation on a societal scale. One might recognize the pulverizing brutality of early Swans on tracks like “Film” or “Pigs,” the pulsing throb of Brighter Death Now and IRM on “Coma” or even Robert McNaugton’s soundtrack work for Henry: Portrait Of Serial Killer on “1970” or “1980.”

Undoubtedly a horrifying work of aural terror, PIG HEART TRANSPLANT‘s For Mass Consumption is the logical result of a culture bent on banal conformity and the futile struggle against its domination. 20 Buck Spin is pleased to bring this tormented future vision into the present in collaboration with Iron Lung Records. The album will storm North America first via 20 Buck Spin on September 2nd, followed days later on September 8th upon European populations. Vinyl and cassette editions will follow via Iron Lung Records shortly after.

SECRET CUTTER – Independent Debut LP From Pennsylvania Trio Destroys Everything

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania-based trio, SECRET CUTTER, has independently released their debut full-length LP, Self Titled.

Following SECRET CUTTER‘s debut EP, If You Don’t Hate Yourself, You’re Not Paying Attention, released on Square of Opposition Records, now crawls forth in the form of Self Titled, the band’s first full-length release. With over twenty-six minutes of new material, fully produced by the band at drummer Jared Stimpfl’s Captured Recording Studios, a maelstrom of their most forceful songwriting, and eclectic, brutal musical dementia comes alive with ten vigorous tracks.

Self Titled has already been picked up by random popular media outlets, including MetalSucks, who freaked over the LP: “They’re taking what bands like Nails, Black Breath and The Body are doing and somehow making it even more visceral, even more intense.” About.com was fully blown by trio’s delivery, stating, “A three-piece shouldn’t sound this heavy, but Allentown, Pennsylvania’s SECRET CUTTER manages to pull off the impossible… If you have even an inkling of a grind or sludge gene in your DNA, you need to check these guys out.” Echoes And Dust described the album as “…heavy sludge/grind/doom that is judiciously laced with feedback and a bit of punk rock intensity. DESERTED FEAR – Recording New Album

German Death maniacs DESERTED FEAR have entered Thuringian Eisensound Studio in Eisenberg, Germany to begin work on their new, as-of-yet untitled album.

The band comments: “It´s getting loud again in Eisensound studio! After over two years of abstinence from the studio, that we spent with playing a lot of great live shows, we are now returning to record a new record. The new album will once again contain nine neck-breaking death metal songs as well as a cool guest feature, which we will announce later. The drums are nailed down already and now we will do the guitars. Stay tuned people, we are really looking forward to present this to you!”

DESERTED FEAR are considered one of Germany´s premier young Death Metal bands. The band’s 2012 debut, My Empire, earned acclaim from both fans and critics worldwide.

ELECTRIC WIZARD UNVEIL “TIME TO DIE” AS TITLE OF FORTHCOMING STUDIO ALBUM – OFFICIAL ARTWORK REVEALED

LONDON, July 1, 2014 – Electric Wizard have announced Time to Die as the title of their forthcoming studio album. Time to Die is the eighth full-length offering from the masters of aural punishment and is testament to the fact that Electric Wizard continue to be the most uncompromisingly heavy, genuinely twisted and evil band in the world.

This will be the band’s first album release since signing a worldwide deal with Spinefarm Records.

Says Electric Wizard founding member, Jus Oborn:

“All of our albums in the past have had a theme; revenge, drugs, black magic and the theme of this one is death. Of course, death to us really means rebirth, so this album is a manifestation of a very primal occult belief in the final sacrifice. We have gone full circle, it was inevitable but we had to do it. We had to kill the band so we could be reborn. It was the only way to ensure we could come back even stronger.”

The artwork, once again created by Oborn, is an extension of that theme; this is further solidified by the LP gatefold image, which will be revealed soon.

HOD – San Antonio Blackened Death Tyrants To Drop Book Of The Worm Upon The Weak; Preorders Available

San Antonio’s favorite blackened death tyrants, HOD, will drop their long-awaited new full-length upon the weak later this Summer. Titled Book Of The Worm, the follow-up to last year’s The Uncreated Demo teaser, which Decibel likened to a “snake eating itself and a bigger snake eating the smaller snake, a kind of infinite and horrifically malign Ouroboros,” was produced by Dennis Munoz, features the recording lineup of guitarist Necron, vocalist Vladibeer Reebs, bassist T.A. and former drummer Dennis Sanders and boasts eight blasting psalms of deviance, decadence and overall suffering with artwork by the masterful Jon Zig (Averse Sefira, Deeds Of Flesh, Pyrexia).

Comments the band from their den of iniquity: “Finally, Book Of The Worm is finished! Through Hell and back we went to get this completed. Comrades fell. Labels failed. Studios changed. KING DIAMOND – Announces North American Fall Tour

KING DIAMOND has confirmed what has been rumored for several weeks: a full North American tour this Fall! The long-awaited trek will commence on October 11th in Atlanta and wrap up with the previously announced performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin. A limited edition KING DIAMOND jacket will be available through the SHOWstubs.com fan club pre-sale, which begins today, June 24th. Tickets will be on sale online and at box offices nationwide on Friday, June 27th.

KING DIAMOND will be joined on stage by longtime band members Andy LaRocque, Mike Wead, Hal Patino, and Matt Thompson. Additionally, North American fans will bear witness to the band’s full European festival stage show. These will be the most ambitious and largest North American productions of the band’s entire history. A special guest support act for the tour will be announced in the coming weeks.

STAR INSIGHT – Debut Album “Messera” Out August 1st And Music Video “Emanuela” Online

Star Insight is a Finnish Melodic/Symphonic Metal band which was founded in Seinäjoki back in 2005, but is now located in Lapua. After four self-released records the band inked a deal with Finnish record label Inverse Records. Their debut album “Messera” will be released worldwide in August 1st 2014.

In their music they mixed a lot of different elements. In addition to symphonic parts, you can also hear industrial sounds, punk riffs, ambient and also some power metallic drum pedaling. Vocals are traditional roaring which are filled in with clean vocals. The lyrics are primarily fictional and the theme is everything between heaven and earth.

The songs for the album are carefully selected from broadest possible musical scale. This close half-hour package contains a lot of different songs and moods.

The Keep It True Festival is where WITCH CROSS performed their first comeback show, back in 2012. Below you will hear WITCH CROSS cover Angel Witch in all of its True Metal glory! The band’s ultra-talented musicianship coupled with the vocals of Kev Moore are stuff that sends me into that happy place of where real Metal exists… True Metal, that is. Shadow Kingdom Records To Reissue “The Awakening” From 80’s U.S. Metallers POWERLORD, On August 19th

Shadow Kingdom Records have uncovered another gem from the U.S. 80’s Metal era. This time it’s a remastered reissue of The Awakening from U.S. Speed/Thrash Metal group POWERLORD, which will be released on August 19.

POWERLORD was one of those bands that popped up out of nowhere and completely fell off into obscurity. Out of all of the rare 80s US Metal diamonds, POWERLORD are arguably the very best at what they do. Their sound falls somewhere between SAVAGE GRACE and SLAYER and features professionally delivered, well written songs of the Speed/Thrash Metal variety. The Shadow Kingdom folks re-mastered the tracks directly from the original master tapes, but since a lot of the band’s memories were lost when High Vaultage Records (an obscure German label) tried to re-issue the album, there is not much in the way of bonus, band photos, or memorabilia that could be included. Intact however is the most important thing: the music! And it sounds amazing!

The Awakening represents what 80’s Metal was all about. The potential to be a much bigger band was there. Alas, it wasn’t to be and POWERLORD was lost in the wave of thrash that spawned the likes of METALLICA. One spin of The Awakening and you too will ponder what could have been.
