Here’s what the legendary Mantas from Venom Inc. had to say about SURVIVE‘s live potential:

I had the pleasure and honor of touring Europe with Survive and they proved themselves to be a valuable asset to the touring package. I can say without hesitation or reservations that they were most definitely my favorite band on the tour. Incredibly nice and gracious guys who obviously loved their music and delivered every single night. I gave them the nickname ‘The Japanese Machine Head’ a song that they played at every sound check became the tour anthem because of its wonderful chorus structure. Melody, hook lines and brutally heavy guitar riffs define this amazing band who deserve global recognition. Maximum Respect from Jeff (Mantas).”

EMPTY THRONE – Announce New Line-up Featuring Members of CANNIBAL CORPSE and SUFFOCATION

Posted in Death Metal, Extreme Metal, Heavy Metal, Metal, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , , on April 21, 2022 by Metal Odyssey

Melodic/blackened death metal band EMPTY THRONE is once again on the move with plans of sending even larger ripples through the metal world by turning an already impressive lineup into a full-fledged supergroup. With writing underway for their upcoming full-length, EMPTY THRONE has added Jack Owen (Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Six Feet Under) and Mike Smith (Suffocation) to the fold.

One of the most renowned guitarists in metal today, Jack will be providing his legendary riffage that helped define the last three decades of death metal. Mike will take the helm behind the kit delivering his unmistakably brutal drumming style. The two veterans will join returning EMPTY THRONE members C.R. Petit (Angerot), Jason Ellsworth (Angerot), and Michael J Pardi (Possessed, Draconis, Ritual) for what promises to be an absolute powerhouse of an album. Stay tuned for the next hellish chapter of EMPTY THRONE!

EMPTY THRONE formed in 2020 with C.R. Petit and Jason Ellsworth of Angerot joining forces with Mike Pardi (Possessed, Draconis, Ritual) and Gabe Seeber (Kennedy Veil, Decrepit Birth, Black Crown Initiate, Abbath) with a goal of creating a unique blend of Death, Black and Thrash Metal. The styling of EMPTY THRONE has been referred to as “Hellish Blackened Deathrash”. It draws upon the violent propulsion of 80’s thrash. The agile savagery of mid-90s Gothenburg-style death metal. Rabid vocals blended with dark atmospherics of late-stage black metal. The result was a ferocious onslaught of speed, power, and outright aggression backed with deadly hooks and grooves. The members of EMPTY THRONE are all veteran hell-bringers and have deep lineage in the extreme metal genre.

EMPTY THRONE partnered with the upcoming label Wise Blood Records to release their three-track 23-minute debut EP, Glossolalia, in 2021 to rave reviews. The EP quickly sold out and proved the band a force to be heard.

Epic Power Metal Outfit ADAMANTIS Releasing “The Daemon’s Strain” EP on Cruz Del Sur Music In June

Posted in 1950's rock guitarists, Heavy Metal, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , on April 16, 2022 by Metal Odyssey

Boston (MA) – Epic Power Metal outfit Adamantis will release The Daemon‘s Strain EP June 10 on digital, CD, and vinyl MLP formats through Cruz Del Sur Music.

The EP’s first single, “Storm The Walls,” is streaming now at: adamantismetal.bandcamp.com/track/storm-the-walls

The Daemon‘s Strain is a triumphant, exploratory four-song EP from one of America’s best up-and-coming power metal bands! Hot off the heels of their brilliant full-length debut album Far Flung Realm, Massachusetts metallers Adamantis return with a striking collage of heroic power metal mixed with symphonic rock!

Already a cult curiosity via their 2018 Thundermark EP debut and initial self-release of their 2020 Far Flung Realm first full-length, Adamantis quickly entered the collective global melodic metal conscience when they signed with Cruz Del Sur Music. The first order of business was to re-release Far Flung Realm. In doing so, Adamantis was immediately thrust to the top of various “best newcomer” lists — proper accolades for an album that so brilliantly recaptured the spirit of 1990s European power metal.

Looking to strike quickly and with unexpected time on their hands thanks to the pandemic, Adamantis is back with the four-song The Daemon’s Strain EP.

Line-up:

Jeff Stark – Vocals
Javier Estrada – Guitar
Teddy Shao – Guitar
Evgeny Gromovoy – Drums

Drums and vocals for The Daemon’s Strain were tracked at Kennedy Studios in Burlington, Massachusetts with producer/engineer Steve Aliperta; all instruments were laid down at the respective home studios of guitarists Javier Estrada, Jeff Taft and bassist Cody Pelchat. (Pelchat and Taft have since left Adamantis to focus on other projects.)

Leveraging the free-form “anything goes” nature of the EP format, Adamantis constructed The Daemon’s Strain as a musical journey across three different landscapes leading to a final destination: the title song, the band’s 13-minute interpretation of the Olde English ballad, “House Carpenter.” The EP starts with “Storm the Walls,” a song that in the band’s own words, “is a statement of our intentions” and definite inclusion in their live set. “Dark Moon Goddess” is perhaps the band’s most progressive and Gothic number to date, while “Thundermark” (the first-ever Adamantis song) is refreshed and rebooted with new vocals from Jeff Stark.

The centerpiece of The Daemon’s Strain is the title track. Leaning closer to a classical symphonic rock song but still rooted in traditional heavy metal, “The Daemon’s Strain (House Carpenter)” is a fully-immersive sonic landscape that faithfully paints the story of the married lady who, seduced by the devil, abandons her husband and child to find death at sea and meet the dark and low hills of Hell. However, as the cover art represents, Adamantis does not embrace a moralistic take on the story but instead sees it as a tale of empowerment. The band interprets that she decides to break free from the chains of home life. Then, in their imagination, she fully embraces her new fate as an immortal, beautiful and lethal demon, portrayed on the cover — and also featured as the Dark Moon Goddess.

No longer one of American power metal’s best-kept secrets, Adamantis has crafted an EP of depth and triumph — a sterling display of memorable, anthemic melodic metal. It is the next logical step for a band that has displayed that the sky is the limit through two EPs and one triumphant full-length.

2. Dark Moon Goddess

3. Thundermark

4. The Daemon’s Strain (House Carpenter)

CADAVERIA: Italian Horror Metal Veterans Join Time To Kill Records – New Album “Emptiness” To See May Release

Posted in Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, horror, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , on April 4, 2022 by Metal Odyssey

Time To Kill Records officially welcomes Italy’s CADAVERIA to the label’s roster, announcing their highly anticipated sixth album, “Emptiness”, for May release.

Whether you call them horror, gothic or dark metal, one thing is certain: in their 20+ years career Cadaveria have become one of the most iconic bands of the Italian metal scene.

The “Emptiness” cover art, created by Roberto Toderico (Facebook / Instagram), has been revealed. Time To Kill Records will release the album on double LP, CD, cassette and digital formats on May 27th 2022. Watch for more album details, singles, preorders, and more to post in the weeks ahead.

CADAVERIA is the creative alter-ego of Italian-based metal singer Raffaella Rivarolo, better known by her stage name Cadaveria, one of the first women to hit the extreme metal scene in the early Nineties.

CADAVERIA band was founded in 2001 by Cadaveria herself and drummer Marçelo Santos, to freely express themselves as musicians and extreme artists.

Since CADAVERIA’s debut album The Shadows’ Madame (2002) the band’s style is labeled Horror Metal. Their personal sound is imbued with gloomy and sinister atmospheres and it mixes Black Metal with classical Heavy Metal, Death Metal and Gothic influences. The lyrics, scheming, hermetic and introspective, mirror the dark soul and the vexed personality of the singer Cadaveria.

2021 is a meaningful one for CADAVERIA band, as the band celebrate its 20 years of activity. A career that boasts five full length albums, some reissues, an EP (with Necrodeath), a retrospective double DVD and a huge support from fans of Central America, where CADAVERIA have made a series of headlining tours, between 2007 and 2015.

From 2012 on, with the release of the most recent albums Horror Metal and Silence, CADAVERIA have been engaged in many live dates that have seen them protagonists of different stages in Germany, France, Belgium, Romania, as well as numerous Italian shows as headliner and in support of Cradle of Filth, Arch Enemy and many more.

CADAVERIA have recently released a series of new singles, that mark the band’s return to the scene after a long pause, during which the singer had to be treated for cancer.

Atomic Fire Records today welcomes German hard rock quartet SINNER to its expanding roster. The band will release a twelve-track full-length, aptly titled Brotherhood, this Summer. Vocalist/bassist Mat Sinner comments, “We’re enormously happy to be a new member of the Atomic Fire Records family and to work with many great ex-colleagues. Brotherhood simply is such a strong album that we need their motivated and loyal team to make it a big success.”

Says Atomic Fire Records CEO Markus Wosgien, “We’ve been connected and good friends with Mat Sinner and his band mates for a long time. To welcome SINNER at Atomic Fire Records is nothing but a matter of the heart for us because – like Primal Fear – they’re a very important part of our past but now also of our present and future again; and we’re even prouder and happier about their monstrous new album that was crafted in brilliant teamwork by Mat (mostly) alongside Tom Naumann. Few rock guitarists on this planet have had such a lasting influence on so many renowned musicians as MICHAEL SCHENKER. With his outstandingly fluid style, inexhaustible wealth of ideas, and instinctive feel for hooks and melodies, MICHAEL SCHENKER is a living legend who, despite his longstanding and distinguished history, still impresses with his unflagging energy and drive. The blond stringsman from Sarstedt, Germany (near Hanover) began his international career in the early 1970s with the Scorpions, achieved worldwide fame after joining British rock group U.F.O., and then seamlessly continued his exceptional global success story under his own name, as well as with acts such as MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP (otherwise known as MSG), Temple Of Rock, and MICHAEL SCHENKER Fest. SCHENKER and his career, which has spanned more than five decades, are absolute exceptions in the otherwise short-lived music industry.

To celebrate his latest MSG album, Universal, scheduled for release on May 27th through Atomic Fire Records, as well as his 50th anniversary of recording, MSG will embark upon an extended US tour this Fall. The trek will run from September 27th through November 6th. See all confirmed dates below.

CREEPING DEATH will be touring in support of their most recent release The Edge Of Existence EP, unleashed last year via MNRK Heavy. With a nod to crossover masters Iron Age, a bit of the tech-death of Cryptopsy, a foundation of forebearers Death, CREEPING DEATH summons a vibrant sound somehow both familiar and fresh. The Edge Of ExistenceEP further demonstrates the power, fury, and outright revelry at the heart of the band’s identity.

Captured at Homewrecker Recording Studio in Tucson, Arizona and produced and mixed by Ryan Bram (Gatecreeper, Bitter Rivals, Sex Prisoner), the six-song EP introduces three new certified hellraisers — “Relics From The Past,” “Humanity Transcends,” and the title track — alongside remade and revitalized versions of the three songs from the band’s 2016 debut EP — “Sacrament Of Death,” “Doused In Flames,” and “Skinned Alive.”

The Edge Of Existence EP is available on CD, cassette, digitally, and now vinyl, at THIS LOCATION.

View the band’s previously released video for the EP’s title track HERE and a visualizer for “Humanity Transcends” HERE.

Originally hailing from Denton, Texas and now situated in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, guitarist Trey Pemberton, vocalist Reese Alavi, bassist Eric “Rico” Mejia, drummer Lincoln Mullins, and guitarist A.J. Ross III comprises the group Revolver called the, “Power Trip-endorsed band leading the next wave of Texas metal.” They refused to let the 2020 pandemic destroy their momentum, even after COVID sidelined two of them for several weeks.

The group emerged from lockdown with a punishing array of their most crushing material yet. Ross (also of Kombat and Torture Tomb, with Cole Crutchfield of Knocked Loose) made his recorded debut with CREEPING DEATH, adding another heavy dimension to their massive bellow on The Edge Of Existence.
