New Jersey’s COGNITIVE will be hitting Full Force Studio to record its second full length album Deformity.
The band will be working with ‘Smoking’ Joe Cincotta who has worked alongside bands such as SUFFOCATION, BODYCOUNT and INTERNAL BLEEDING. Artwork for the album will be created by renowned illustrator Par Olofsson (SPAWN OF POSSESSION, IMMOLATION, ABYSMAL DAWN, JOB FOR A COWBOY). The legendary Alan Douches will master the upcoming album at West West Side (SEPULTURA, CONVERGE, HATEBREED).
Following the addition of new members guitarist Harry Lannon and bassist Ian Bainbridge, COGNITIVE have forged new ground and are eager to unleash the bands new material which will present a more formidable sound and direction. French Occult Doom-rockers Akasava have announced new shows in their homeland, two in their local Le Havre and one in Rouen.
The band give an especial shout-out to Belgian doom lot Bathsheba, with whom they are playing in Le Havre. “We are honoured that we get to play with such an excellent band,” enthuses frontman Louis Hauguel.

The band’s heartfelt music is spiced up with lyrics written by Nihil, who is one of the most gifted Polish artists of the decade. The Book Of Souls World Tour will open in the U.S.A in late February with Ed Force One flying in for three shows before, in early March, heading into Central America visiting MEXICO, followed by a much-anticipated first ever concert in EL SALVADOR and a return to COSTA RICA. Ed Force One then proceeds into South America for concerts in ARGENTINA, CHILE and a number of shows in BRAZIL before flying back to the USA at the end of March for ten more cities covering the USA and, of course, CANADA in the first two weeks of April.
A long-awaited return to JAPAN follows later in April, and then the band are delighted to be playing their first ever shows in CHINA before heading to NEW ZEALAND and AUSTRALIA for a comprehensive tour during the first half of May. Shows in SOUTH AFRICA, Maiden’s first visit there with Bruce, will be the last port of call before Ed Force One heads to EUROPE for a very extensive tour starting in late May and finishing in early August.

Atom By Atom, the forthcoming new full-length from British Heavy Metal titans, SATAN, will see release via Listenable Records on October 16th. Recorded at Newcastle’s First Avenue Studios, and mixed and mastered by Dario Mollo (Crossbones, The Cage, Voodoo Hill) who helmed the band’s 2013’s critically acclaimed comeback album Life Sentence, Atom By Atom includes a collaboration with Angel Witch’s Kevin Heybourne as well as the striking cover renderings of Eliran Kantor (Testament, Sodom, Sigh, Iced Earth etc.) who crafted the art for SATAN‘s previous opus.

Founded in Newcastle, England in 1979, SATAN was part of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement. Though generally obscure throughout their career, the band is considered influential for playing a form of proto-thrash metal that was fairly advanced by the standards of the early 1980s. Their lineup has undergone a number of personnel changes over the years and even changes in band name. For a time the band was called Blind Fury, putting out one album – 1985’s Out Of Reach – under that moniker before reverting back to SATAN shortly thereafter.
In 1988, the group changed its name again to The Kindred and then yet again to Pariah, releasing two albums under that name before folding in the early ’90s. In 1997 Pariah released another album. The band’s shifting lineup has included members of many other heavy metal bands such as Blitzkrieg, Rough Edge, Pariah, Atomkraft, Avenger, Persian Risk, Cronos and Battleaxe. In 1990, guitarist Steve Ramsey and bassist Graeme English together with singer Martin Walkyier of UK thrash metal band Sabbat founded folk metal act Skyclad.

Mastered by Tony Reed (producer of last SAINT VITUS’ album “Lillie: F-65”), this album confirms APOSTLE OF SOLITUDE as a versatile, multi-dimensional doom band that offers the most Sabbath-inspired sound around these days, blended with personal, oppressive yet dynamic atmospheres such as those found in “Push Mortal Coil” or “Whore’s Wings” (re-recorded hits from their 2012’s demo), or the long and haunting “Die Vicar Die”.
The album also features the extraordinary work of talented Artist David Csicsely known for his illustrations of Mournful Congregation, Solitude Aeternus, Wheel, Flight of Sleipnir releases.The album was recorded by Mike Bridavsky at Russian) in Bloomington, IN and later mastered by Tony Reed (SAINT VITUS’ “Lillie: F-65). EYEHATEGOD has been forced to cancel their recently announced September performances. Said the band in an official statement, “Due to an unfortunate turn of events, EYEHATEGOD has sadly been forced to postpone their four show September run this week. Many apologies to everyone with plans to see the band. EYEHATEGOD promises to make up these gigs ASAP. Housecore Horror Fest is still on the schedule for November and we are looking extremely forward to that.”
EYEHATEGOD released their Billboard-charting, self-titled LP last year breaking the band’s decade-and-a-half gap since their prior full-length and marking the most successful release in the band’s twenty-five-year lineage.
