DEATH CULT/THE CULT TOUR DATES BEGIN TODAY

LISTEN TO “RESURRECTION JOE (LIVE)” NOW: https://deathcult.ffm.to/resurrectionjoe-live

Oct. 9, 2025 – Death Cult laid the groundwork for the band we now know as The Cult, and in 2023, to mark the band’s 40th anniversary, Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy, along with John Tempesta on bass and Charlie Jones on drums, revived Death Cult for a special run of shows.

Out on Jan. 16, Paradise Live is a 16-track live album that documents this rebirth of Death Cult. Recorded at the iconic Albert Hall in Duffy’s hometown of Manchester on Nov. 18, 2023, the release, which features no overdubs, will be available on 2LP, CD, and digitally. Two editions of the vinyl will be available: a black splatter edition available exclusively from the band’s webstore, and a white splatter edition will be available everywhere else: https://deathcult.ffm.to/paradiselive.

At the center of the night’s set was the hypnotic 1982 Cult single “Resurrection Joe.” One of many high points of the evening, it is available to listen to now: https://deathcult.ffm.to/resurrectionjoe-live.

The Cult’s first incarnation was Southern Death Cult, formed in 1981, releasing their sole, self-titled album posthumously in 1983. That same year, Death Cult formed, with Ian Astbury joining forces with Billy Duffy for a musical partnership that has endured for 40+ years. Death Cult became The Cult in 1984 releasing Dreamtime that same year.

Ian and Billy initially weren’t sure how many shows they would do as Death Cult, but the post-punk gothic futurists decided to listen to the requests to keep the fervor going. The next leg of shows begins tonight in Niagara Falls and continues to Oct. 30 in Los Angeles. These truly special evenings will have Death Cult opening for The Cult.

The Cult has enjoyed numerous international and U.S. gold and platinum certifications. Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy have released 11 studio albums over The Cult’s 40-year career. The band found international renown with the 1985 album, Love, which featured the enduring rock anthem “She Sells Sanctuary,” as well as the oft-heard follow-up single “Rain.”

JON HARRIS Unleashes the Heavier Side of Album Parallel Heart, in New Playthrough “Wasted Entertainment”

Posted in Guitar, guitarists, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , on October 7, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Edmonton instrumental rock guitarist JON HARRIS returns with a new playthrough video for his track “Wasted Entertainment”, taken from his acclaimed album Parallel Heart, released via Epictronic in December 2024.

“‘Wasted Entertainment’ takes aim at our obsession with social media, calling out the endless scroll that eats away those precious hours of our lives. It’s one of the heavier songs on the album, built on an early riff and loaded with punchy textures and layered sounds that took me a few tries to get right. Recently, I met someone who said it was their favourite track on the whole record, so crank it up!” says Harris.

Watch “Wasted Entertainment” at: https://youtu.be/gIiLPbsf6wI

Parallel Heart is a vivid showcase of Harris’ multi-instrumental skills and compositional vision. While completely instrumental, the album conveys stories of tension and release, exploring the space between connection and chaos, creative ambition and everyday demands. From the pulsing energy of Togetherness to the shimmering retro feel of 97BPM, each track builds its own emotional narrative.

Harris, who performed guitar, drums, bass, piano, and production on the record, proves himself not only a guitarist to watch but a full-scale sonic architect. His sound bridges blues-soaked rock, synth-driven textures, and funk grooves with cinematic flair, evoking a blend that’s reminiscent of Jeff Beck meeting Prince with a modern rock edge.

Super Bowl Halftime Show Has Become A One-Sided Event, Going On A Decade

Posted in Music, music news, national football league, news, nfl with tags , , , , on October 7, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

This says it all: the last time a Rock band performed at a Super Bowl halftime show was Coldplay, back in 2016 for Super Bowl 50. That was 9 years ago, folks. 9 years and counting. So much for inclusiveness that the mainstream media and the NFL is always lecturing about.

The Who played the halftime show for Super Bowl 44 back in 2010. That was 15 years ago. 15. Years.

There has never been a true Heavy Metal band that performed at a Super Bowl halftime. KISS did a pre-game show at Super Bowl 33, on January 31, 1999. KISS played ONE SONG. It was their signature song: “Rock and Roll All Nite”. That wasn’t halftime. Plus, that was 27 years ago.

Aerosmith did their halftime show for Super Bowl 35 way back in 2001 and still had to share the stage with a crowded field of Pop and Hip-hop artists; thus making certain that their Hard Rock was watered down as much as possible.

Bonus Sad Fact: Country Music has taken a genuine beating with Super Bowl halftime shows. The last country artist to perform one was Shania Twain for Super Bowl 37, back in 2003. 22 years ago. Sting and No Doubt also performed.

Enough with the embarrassing timeline. My point has been made. Frankly, I really don’t give a shit about the Super Bowl halftime show anymore. My only goal here is to point out the ignorance, intolerance and bias of the decision makers behind the Super Bowl halftime event. If the tables were reversed, just how would the bubble-gum Pop and Hip-hop world respond? I’m stopping there.

My Thoughts On Music Streaming

Posted in classic rock, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Metal, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , on October 6, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

I listen to music across a wide array of mediums, both physical and streaming. With that said, I’ve found myself listening on Spotify more this year than any other before it. With the ease of use and plethora of Metal choices, Spotify has been keeping me in the know. I’ve discovered more new bands, albums and songs like never before, due to the daily recommendations I receive from Spotify.

I actually feel spoiled with such easy access to my favorite music and yet I also feel gratitude. Technology can be more than a Pandora’s box as all the digital music platforms have proven. We’ve come a long way since those Napster days. Music is to be heard, enjoyed and not hidden from being celebrated. Spotify gives music to the masses, whether a user pays a monthly subscription (free from ads) or not.

My growing up during the late 70’s and into the early 80’s as a teenager in America had limited access to music on television; with MTV eventually changing the game. Beforehand there was American Bandstand, Soul Train and USA Networks’ Night Flight. I was a fan of all three! Had to be. It’s all we had for music on TV along with tidbits of related news.

The physical media was the mainstay back then, along with radio, of course. I never in a billion years could’ve foreseen such a remarkable future of music accessibility, via a hand-held phone, back in the day. That was Science Fiction back then. Star Trek stuff.

When it comes to how much artists are compensated from Spotify for listens, I have no clue. I’ve read about the negative blowback that many artists have toward the pay scale Spotify uses. All I can say, in my opinion, is you either use it as a means to get your music heard or you don’t. Admittedly, I will at times purchase physical music media based on what I discover from Spotify. This platform affords artists to sell merch from there as well.

On a side note, I have zero clue about how YouTube compensates musicians and bands. YouTube is easily the one digital platform I use the least for music. After I watch a newly released music video, I’m done, unless the video is worth my time to revisit. That’s just me.

I do know Bandcamp is honestly a tremendous platform for artists to make money; especially with the monthly Bandcamp Friday. I do love Bandcamp! I have purchased a nice collection of digital music, physical media and other merch over the years from Bandcamp. I so highly recommend checking out this platform if you haven’t already.

Thank you for visiting and reading about my thoughts on music streaming. I greatly appreciate all of you visitors! Please feel free to comment! Metal be thy name. – Stone

KING ULTRAMEGA Partners With Joe Satriani On New Single “Be Yourself” – A Heartfelt Tribute to Chris Cornell

Posted in Hard Rock, hard rock music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , on September 14, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Alternative rock collective KING ULTRAMEGA, featuring members of ALICE IN CHAINS, ANTHRAX, MASTODON, and SOUNDGARDEN, have returned with a haunting instrumental rendition of the AUDIOSLAVE classic, “Be Yourself“. This new single release once again aims to celebrate Chris Cornell’s musical genius while raising funds and awareness for MusiCares. MusiCares is the Recording Academy’s nonprofit that provides mental health, addiction recovery, and emergency services to those in the music community.

“Be Yourself” features legendary guitarist Joe Satriani on lead guitar, echoing vocalist Chris Cornell’s melodic motifs and building on the song’s phrasings. Though following in Cornell’s footsteps on a different instrument sounds like a tall order, Satriani rose to the challenge, proud to show his love for a fallen hero.

Expertly replicating the essence of the song with crystal-clear lead tones, tasteful vibrato, and subtle pedal effects, Satriani lets his guitar sing with all the passion and tenderness that the song’s lyrics originally conveyed. This loving instrumental homage proves that the message and power behind AUDIOSLAVE’s composition transcends words.

Watch the video HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu2lIPEl6D0

Listen HERE: https://kingum.rpm.link/beyourselfYT

Satriani comments“[Chris Cornell] was a brilliant vocalist and communicator. He often used his voice like an instrument, shaping the tone of his voice like a guitarist would finesse riffs and phrases. I took a deep dive into his magical sensibilities and came up with a multi-tracked guitar production approach that I felt would pay proper homage to his brilliance.”

The concept for an instrumental rendition of “Be Yourself” originated with the bassist, producer, and mastermind of KING ULTRAMEGA, Mark Menghi. As a producer, he envisioned a version of the song that deftly balanced the art of paying respect to the original, while also reimagining the song with a unique musical voice from Satriani. As a bassist, Menghi strove to keep the bass parts nearly identical to the original song, allowing Satriani the freedom to lend his own voice to the music.

Renowned drummer Kenny Aronoff, who has been named one of the greatest drummers of all time by Rolling Stone magazine, and has toured and recorded with a who’s who of legendary artists such as THE ROLLING STONES, THE SMASHING PUMPKINS, PAUL MCCARTNEY, JOHN FOGERTY and many more, provides the laid-back, but emotionally-resonant groove of “Be Yourself”, laying the foundation with Menghi for Satriani’s melodies to shine.

Menghi comments“I remember like it was yesterday, I was on a run through some crazy trail,  just zoning out and the original song came on through my headphones… as I was running, I remember hearing Chris sing ‘to be yourself is all that you can do’ it was like he was talking to me… then thought to myself ‘I can totally hear this as an instrumental a-la Satch style’… My hope is that whomever is listening to this song hears Chris over Joe’s guitar and understands that we are paying homage to Chris with our take on this tune.”

Aronoff comments“I listened to ‘Be Yourself’ over and over again, absorbing the lyrics and the feel and vibe of this song, then I recorded my drums. Their recording had an emotional impact on me and that had a big effect on my performance.”

FIRST SONG “ELECTRIC DREAMS” OUT TODAY LISTEN HERE

FULL COMPILATON LP RELEASES OCTOBER 24

Aug. 22, 2025, LOS ANGELES — Visionary musician, poet, and activist Serj Tankian returns with a stunning new project, Covers, Collaborations & Collages; a genre-spanning collection that celebrates artistic unity, reinvention, and storytelling.

The first single, “Electric Dreams,” (listen: https://createmusic.fm/electricdreams) is available today, via Serjical Strike Records/Create Music Group, launching a ten-week release schedule where a new track will drop each week, culminating in the full compilation album, releasing on Oct. 24, 2025.

“Electric Dreams” single cover by D.S. Bradford

This deeply personal and eclectic body of work features Tankian’s powerful reinterpretations and remarkable collaborations. Among the highlights is a beautifully haunting cover of Chris de Burgh’s “I’m Counting On You,” reimagined with Tankian’s unmistakable emotional intensity.

Covers, Collaborations & Collages showcases striking creative partnerships with some of today’s most innovative artists. Tankian joins with lauded producer Deadmau5 on the hypnotic “A Seed,” New Zealand singer/songwriter Bic Runga’s ethereal voice weaves with Tankian’s in the duet “Things Unspoken,” and acclaimed composer Lucas Vidal creates a sonic canvas upon which Tankian vocally illustrates a scene of the devolution of civilization and the end times, bellowing “There are no more empires / Just burning campfires” on the powerful and cinematic “Apocalyptic Dance.”

Rounding out the collection, Tankian’s cover of Armenian songwriter Ruben Hakhverdyan’s “When Death Arrives,” is a poignant reminder of the reality of our mortality, musing through the eyes of the departed and reminding listeners of the undeniable importance love and truth hold in this world.

Adding a visual dimension to the music, each single’s artwork, and the album’s evocative main cover, has been created by artist D.S. Bradford, who also contributes lead guitar work on the soaring track “Kneeling Away From The Sun.”

With each weekly release, Tankian will share the inspirations, stories and artistic intentions behind the songs, inviting listeners into the creative process like never before.

Serj Tankian’s video intro to Covers, Collaborations & Collages: https://youtu.be/DtzC1LUITBA

“Similar to Foundations, these are pre-existing archival recordings, some of them from way back,” says Tankian. “I wanted to put out a record of collaborations I haven’t released before, along with covers, which I haven’t done. The rest, the collages, are parts that fit the puzzle in the same tone, the same vibe.”

Sarina Embraces Power Over Guilt in New Anthem “If you need me to be the villain (Then maybe I am)”

Posted in alternative rock, alternative rock music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , , on August 9, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Tokyo Alt-Rock Artist To Follow Up Single With Fierce Music Video and New EP Announcement

Tokyo, JapanSarina, an upcoming alt-rock artist from Tokyo, dropped her new single “If you need me to be the villain (Then maybe I am),” a song that outlines the remorseful, contrite feelings an abundance of women undergo, particularly in relationships. Between passionately compelling lyrics and prominent outlooks, Sarina displays wicked, encapsulating themes of surrendering as well as rallying cries. “If you need me to be the villain (Then maybe I am)” is now available for streaming, and a music video for the song will be released on August 20th.

Sarina is also announcing her long-awaited EP, The Fool, out on September 12th. “If you need me to be the villain (Then maybe I am)” marks the first single from the upcoming EP.

Produced by Kevin Thrasher(Panic! At The Disco, Blink-182, Avril Lavigne), the tune promotes confidence and tenacity, setting the scene for a ferocious and unapologetic vindication. Sarina explores relationship conflicts alongside internal dilemmas and adversities, highlighting emotional health. “‘If you need me to be the villain (Then maybe I am)’ is about an experience so many women have, especially in relationships, where we are made to feel like everything is ours to take responsibility for,” she explains. “No matter the issue, we feel like we have to apologize regardless of who was in the wrong. We reassure and apologize despite being the ones hurt.”

At the heart of the track is Sarina’s acceptance of the villain role being cast upon her. This is exhibited throughout the bridge and chorus, coming to the revelation that it’s alright to claim your authority and own your strength. “The song is a surrender just as much as it is a battle cry. In the same breath, I embrace my role as villain in your story, I question whether or not I’m the villain in my own story,” Sarina confesses.

The eloquent and high-powered energy fills up every melody, leaving audiences wanting more. With thunderous instrumentation and roaring vocals, Sarina creates the ultimate feminist anthem, grabbing the attention of those who have been equally cast as the bad guy in their own lives. The single was mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Maor Appelbaum, known for his work with metal icons like Faith No More, Dream Theater, Sepultura, Rob Halford, and more.

Growing up in Tokyo with artistically gifted parents, Sarina developed an interest in music from a very young age, leading her to chase a career in the industry. The bilingual artist, who was born in Hawaii with a Japanese father and Lebanese mother, became immersed in different cultures, which guided the orchestration of her music. Diving into personal challenges and mental health, her music leads listeners into profound reflection and relatability.

Under the Sony RED label, Sarina released multiple singles, music videos, and an EP titled Foreward. After working with Sony, she teamed up with her mother, a flourishing music business entrepreneur in Japan, to launch a new label, SyrenSong, and earlier this year, she signed a distribution deal with Warner/ADA. With infectious, tuneful melodies and provocative lyrics, she has gained coveted playlist spots on Spotify’s “New Music Friday,” Ones To Watch’s “Now Watching,” Apple Music’s “New In Rock” and “New in Alternative” and features in New Noise Magazine, Music Connection Magazine, Tokyo Noise, antiMusic, V13, Lock Magazine, and more. Sarina has also been involved in a video game company, Square Enix’s JRPG Triangle Strategy, in collaboration with eminent composer Senju Akira.

Blending feral alt-rock with a dash of pop-punk, the track serves as a call to arms and tells listeners to embrace being the villain to feel powerful, even when they’re not the one in the wrong. “If you need me to be the villain (Then maybe I am)” is now available to stream and download. Subscribe to her YouTube channel and stay tuned for the accompanying music video on August 20th  and the release of The Fool EP on September 12th. KING ULTRAMEGA Launches with Debut Single “Rusty Cage” – A Bold Tribute To Chris Cornell In Partnership With Reigning Phoenix Music and MusiCares

Posted in classic rock, Hard Rock, hard rock music, Heavy Metal, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , on July 18, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

In a landmark collaboration to support the mental health and well-being of music creators, Reigning Phoenix Music and MusiCares have teamed up to spotlight KING ULTRAMEGA, a bold new tribute project honoring the legacy of Chris Cornell. KING ULTRAMEGA debuts today with a powerful reimagining of Soundgarden’s “Rusty Cage,” released via Reigning Phoenix Music.

Watch “Rusty Cage” here: https://youtu.be/GKdMKFBrQpk

KING ULTRAMEGA is an all-star collective featuring original members of  ALICE IN CHAINS, ANTHRAX, MASTODON and SOUNDGARDEN, alongside legendary artists from the hard rock and metal worlds. With each single release KING ULTRAMEGA will feature different musicians that aim to celebrate Cornell’s musical genius while raising critical funds and awareness for MusiCares, the Recording Academy’s nonprofit providing mental health, addiction recovery, and emergency services to those in the music community.

“Chris Cornell’s voice and presence meant so much to so many, including all of us at MusiCares. He and his loved ones have long championed the importance of our work, and it’s deeply meaningful to see his legacy continue through a project that brings connection, awareness, and hope to the music community.” —  Theresa Wolters, Interim Executive Director and VP of Health & Human Services, MusiCares

The lineup for “Rusty Cage” includes:

  • William DuVall (ALICE IN CHAINS) – Vocals
  • Bill Kelliher (MASTODON) – Guitars
  • Mark Menghi (METAL ALLEGIANCE) – Bass
  • Charlie Benante (ANTHRAX, PANTERA) – Drums

DuVall approaches Cornell’s towering vocal legacy with reverence and restraint: “I just leaned into my love for the song and my immense respect for Chris,” he says. “Since the instrumental track Bill, Charlie, and Mark sent hewed so closely to the original, I thought it best for me to stay in that ballpark as well. Again, my reason for participating was simply taking on an interesting challenge when so much of the world was shut down. I had no thoughts or ambitions for this beyond our posting it on social media five years ago. But if this release can help further the good work done by MusiCares, then I’m all for it.”

Kelliher faithfully channels the song’s jagged, shifting riffs, while Menghi injects a dose of low-end swagger, including a bold bass-wah section in the song’s doom-laden second half. Benante captures Matt Cameron’s explosive style with precision and feel, staying true to the song’s “tight but loose” groove.

KING ULTRAMEGA is more than a tribute, it’s a movement. The collective will continue releasing new interpretations of Cornell’s work across SOUNDGARDEN, AUDIOSLAVE, TEMPLE OF THE DOG, and his solo career, each track featuring rotating guest musicians and collaborators. Proceeds from every release will benefit MusiCares.

The SoapGirls – Photo Gallery From Melody Inn In Indianapolis, Indiana, July 3rd, 2025

The SoapGirls – My buddy Troy and I went to see The SoapGirls at Melody Inn, back on July 3rd, in Indianapolis, Indiana. This was the second time we’ve seen this fabulous sister duo at Melody Inn. The first time we saw The SoapGirls was back on November 3rd, 2023.

Mie plays guitar and does vocals/backing vocals and Mille plays bass and does vocals/backing vocals. Both are so fun to watch perform!! Plus, they are both amazing towards their fans and the kindest of human beings you ever want to meet!

The SoapGirls are from South Africa and to see them twice at the same venue is truly a blessing! I thank The SoapGirls for coming to the USA and believing in their fans here!

The SoapGirls are difficult to pigeonhole musically. They mix punk, alternative and hard rock together seamlessly; while Mille adds both clean and guttural vocals to the mix. Mille also loves to play her bass behind her back! Their songs are all bangers and to not move your body to their grooves is impossible! Trust me, both times I’ve seen the SoapGirls, the crowd at Melody Inn was electric!!

Their entire road crew are the best; they all are such friendly and kind human beings. The owner and staff at Melody Inn are just as friendly and kind. To say that Melody Inn is a jewel of the Midwest is an understatement! The great vibes you feel just entering Melody Inn is unforgettable!

I hope to see The SoapGirls again and will forever sing their praise; as well as endorse Melody Inn! Just click on any photo below to view The SoapGirls! Thank you for visiting! – Stone

BulletBoys, Mick Box and Bob Daisley “Takin’ It To The Streets” – A Classic Rock Gem Reimagined!

Posted in classic rock, classic rock bands, Hard Rock, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , on June 29, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

BulletBoys, Mick Box and Bob Daisley have collaborated on covering the Classic Rock gem “Takin’ It To The Streets”. This cover song has been newly released via Cleopatra. Originally recorded and released by The Doobie Brothers back in 1976, “Takin It To The Streets” is the title track from The Doobie Brothers’ sixth studio album.

My love for Classic Rock knows no boundaries and once I discovered this cover version on Spotify I was all ears and grinning. Take into account my deep respect and loyalty to guitarist Mick Box and bassist Bob Daisley and I’m instantly transported into a 1970s and 80s Rockin’ daze!

BulletBoys vocalist Marq Torien shows off his smooth and soulful vocals brilliantly on this cover; a contrast from his patented Hard Rock and Heavy Metal pipes he’s famously known for. Just hearing these music legends jamming on “Takin’ It To The Streets” has me yearning (hopefully) for more surprises to come from them!

  • Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Michael McDonald wrote and originally sung the hit single “Takin It To The Streets”.
  • Mick Box is world famous as the lead guitarist and songwriter of Uriah Heep, going back to their founding.
  • Bob Daisley is a legendary bassist and songwriter. He has been a member of Rainbow, Ozzy Osbourne’s Blizzard Of Ozz, and Uriah Heep, to name a few.

Gothenburg’s Horror Punks LEFT HAND BLACK Sign To The Circle Music To Release New Album – Left Hand Black 3: Death Can’t Keep Us Apart

Posted in horror, horror punk, horror punk rock bands, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , on May 24, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

The Circle Music have signed the electrifying Swedish horrorpunk band Left Hand Black. Hailing from Gothenburg, this quartet, consisting of veterans of the local music scene, will release their third full-length album, Left Hand Black 3: Death Can’t Keep Us Apart, in September.

Formed in the spring of 2019 on an island just outside Gothenburg, Left Hand Black brings together the formidable talents of Hans Hagström and Jonathan Jansson (formerly of The Dead Next Door) with Johan Hansson and Anton Zachrisson (from Overdrive Solution). Their sound is a potent brew of old-school melodic horror punk and rock, drawing inspiration from iconic bands such as MisfitsRamones and Bad Religion.

Johan Hansson of Left Hand Black said: “I have followed Maria and The Circle Music since the first release, and with her passion for the music and what she does for the bands, this is a dream come true. We are super excited to be part of the TCM family.

Left Hand Black have carved a reputation with their previous releases: their self-titled debut in 2020 via Wolverine Records and their 2022 follow-up, Lower Than Satan through Sunny Bastard Records/Sick Taste Records. Now, with Left Hand Black 3: Death Can’t Keep Us Apart they aim to solidify their position as purveyors of infectious horror-infused punk anthems.

As the band have declared: “We prove that we can write hits and are an insanely good live band that takes no prisoners and celebrates a hellish party with you in the graveyard.”

+ Limited Edition Cassette For EP “Fatal Attraction” Out June 2025

High intensity, no filler rockers, Calgary’s LOVER announces they will be performing at this year’s Armstrong Metal Fest (July 11/12), one of Canada’s loudest mountain moshpits nestled in the beautiful backdrop of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley.

The band is playing in support of their latest EP Fatal Attraction, which the thrashback metallers will be releasing on limited edition cassette on June 20th, 2025. “Fatal Attraction” is fast, it’s real, and it’s meant to kick you in the face! Even though the EP is only two tracks, this is a sampler of more to come.

The opening title track is an energetic rush of sound that captures the ups and downs of being overwhelmed by desire. The lyrics feed this feeling by talking about lust and substance abuse. Track 2. “Bad Love” lyrically is a tough and mean reality check. It’s based on a true story of love gone wrong. It has aggressive riffs, mean solos, and is meant to capture the strain of a mind in love and turmoil.

“For real though, we used our real-life experiences of love, hardship, and lust to tell a story, and it just happens to be set to the tune of high-energy rock n roll,” adds the band.

Recommended for fans of Scorpions, Riot City, Wasp, Judas Priest, Van Halen, and Thin Lizzy, listen to “Fatal Attraction” at the following links:

MELVINS Concert Photo Gallery From Bogart’s In Cincinnati – May 15th, 2025

The esteemed Melvins performed at one of my favorite large clubs in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Thursday, May 15th. Napalm Death was also a headline act! I took these photos with my iPhone, sitting up in the balcony. My bad knees and legs forbid my wanting to be on the floor and up-close, nowadays. I was accompanied by my Metal Buddy Troy. This was my second time seeing the Melvins, during my Metal life. I was pumped from start to finish!

Buzz Osborne was on top of his game! The legend never slowed down for a second! Entire band and crowd was lit! I didn’t want their set to end; yet it was comforting to know Napalm Death was at the ready! I hope you enjoy some of these photos; it was difficult with the lighting and distance. Regardless, I’m grateful I have these to share with you all. Thank you for stopping by and Metal be thy name!

Just click on any photo to enlarge! Whoa!
