Girlschool is a female and British Heavy Metal band that formed back in 1977. The first time I ever heard a song from Girlschool was back in 1983… on the infamous “Metal Shop” Heavy Metal – FM radio show. The early 1980’s were my Metal Music nurturing years, so many bands, songs and albums to digest as a hungry teen Metalhead. I would not trade in those Metal Music learning years for anything. There are bands that I revisit from time to time, that have perhaps just a few songs that I really listen to over the decades. Girlschool is one such band, they have one particular song that, man, I just can never forget about… “Play Dirty”, from their “Play Dirty” album, (released in 1983). “Play Dirty” was the fourth studio album from Girlschool. Over the years, I realized from reading many an article and collecting enough Metal Music, that the great Lemmy Kilmister of (the legendary) Motorhead, has his Metal ties to Girlschool. (This always made me feel that Girlschool was ordained with Metal integrity).

When I first heard “Play Dirty” back in 1983, I was blown away by the fact that this song was not just cool, it really rocked the roof off for me. I probably should have delved deeper into the Girlschool catalog of albums over the years… there still is time to do so. This song has stayed with me ever since my first time hearing it… I continue to make certain that this Heavy Metal classic of a song is always at the ready to be cranked up – whenever I get the Metal itch for it. I even bought this song off of itunes this past Winter, while buying up a bunch of Heavy Metal songs… just to make certain I had an extra copy of it. (Yeah, I really like this song a lot). Simply put, it is a high powered, melodic driven, heavy chorus laden, 1980’s Heavy Metal song. I surmise that it is the way this song all came together, with everything just seeming to click for me, that makes it so unreal memorable to my Metal senses.

Lehigh Valley Ghost Stories book coverToday I embarked on a very short trip to Waldenbooks, at a local mall. I was informed last night, while purchasing the book “Pocono Ghosts Legends And Lore Book Two”, (at Waldenbooks), that the author would be at the store to sign any and/or all of his books, on Saturday, August 29,… that author being Charles J. Adams III. To say I was excited to hear this news is a heavy duty understatement. It is no secret, that I do believe in ghosts, my very own personal experiences with the paranormal and anxious spirits have made me a believer going back to 1985. With that said, watching reality television series such as Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International, Ghost Adventures, Destination Truth, Paranormal State, Most Haunted and Monster Quest are a sheer delicacy of information and entertainment for me. I whole heartedly agree with the painstaking task of always wanting/needing to debunk a haunted location or story, before a declaration of any said location or object is deemed to be truly haunted. With this mindset, this is why I embrace the books written by Charles J. Adams III, for he states each case as it is presented to him, with all facts and history being double checked. Debunking a haunting or haunted location is this authors first task at hand, so in the end, if Charles J. Adams III actually states a location or object to be haunted… I will believe him. Charles J. Adams III will end many stories in his books without there being a true answer, yet the facts and debunking are clearly checked over.

Philadelphia Ghost Stories book coverMeeting Charles J. Adams III today was a tremendous thrill, to shake hands with a true professional at researching Ghost Stories and the paranormal is not something I get to do everyday. Charles J. Adams III is without question, a highly respected individual in the great state of Pennsylvania, his credentials are built on integrity, volunteerism and good will, with impressive knowledge and longevity in the field of Ghost Hunting. (I base this statement on the numerous books he has written and the undisputed background information I have read on him). Charles J. Adams III was extremely gracious to me today, answering every question I had for him. I spent a good twenty minutes or so talking to him, the points he made and answers to my queries are highly appreciated by me. I told him during our conversation, that I could easily carry on our discussion about ghosts, non stop, until next Friday… without eating. (That is how much I appreciate an encounter with such a world renowned expert on the paranormal). The insights and comments that Charles J. Adams III revealed to me today I will tuck away in my mind files for a lifetime. Thank you, Charles J. Adams III for being such a fine gentleman today.

Ghosts of Berks County book coverCharles J. Adams III was accompanied today with Mark Albright, a paranormal investigator and fine cordial gentleman himself. Mark’s comments were very much appreciated as well. I did buy the brand new book written by Charles J. Adams III, released today, titled “Eastern Pennsylvania Ghost Files – Updated!” I cannot wait to read this book thoroughly… then reread it again! Mark Albright wrote the preface for this new book… I thank both of these gentlemen for signing a copy for me. I highly endorse, without any reservations, the fine Ghost Hunting books written by Charles J. Adams III… seasoned believers need to get their hands on them and skeptics should find the debunking, history researching and fact finding to be quite impressive on the part of this ethical author. The research, books and findings that Charles J. Adams III accomplishes are incredibly important in advancing the field of ghost and paranormal studies.

On a closing note, look for Charles J. Adams III on television… he has appeared on haunting and ghost related shows on the History Channel, The Learning Channel, MTV and The Travel Channel. Look for Charles J. Adams to have a show on the National Geographic Channel this September of 2009 too. I really look forward to catching Charles J. Adams III on past shows that I have missed and especially the newer shows coming this Fall. All of his books can be purchased either at Waldenbooks store or Waldenbooks online and Amazon.com.
