Some people are born to rock; a few are born to thrash and Suicide Watch definitely belongs to the latter!
Late 2003 saw four guys; enthusiastic veterans of the thrash, hardcore and crossover scenes get together in the back alleys of Cheltenham England to form Suicide Watch, a band committed to relentless musical mayhem. The debut album, Global Warning, was a perfect demonstration highlighting the band’s ability to distill their collective knowledge of the genre resulting in one of the most potent thrash core releases outside of the Bay Area. The album was picked up and released in 2005 via legendary Belgian metal label Mausoleum Records.
Having signed to Irish label, Slaney Records, in 2010 for the release of their third studio record The Culling of Humanity, the label would go on to release The Alienation Zone EP in 2014 and live album This Cursed Earth in March 2015. Marquee Records, (a sister label of Slaney Records), has now announced that they will breathe new life into the debut Suicide Watch record, re-issuing Global Warning on 22nd June 2015.
The long and short of it is, these four guys know each other’s playing styles back to front, and inside out; the chemistry within Suicide Watch is second to none. They genuinely live and breathe the music they play and in fact, the thirteen songs on Global Warning were written over the course of just twelve rehearsals, and recorded, mixed and mastered (live onto analogue tape with none of the digital trickery so often employed by modern thrash bands) in only four days at Whitehouse Studios.
As well as a devastating sonic attack, Suicide Watch pride themselves on positive, sincere lyrics; they are four compassionate, caring individuals that have something of genuine value to impart to the listener. That’s why you won’t find any songs about Satan and ‘bangin’ the head on Global Warning. The world is going to hell at a rate of knots, there’s more important issues at stake right now than who is more metal than whom, and consequently the band’s lyrical thrust is steeped in the grim reality of modern life.
But whether you buy into the band’s politically charged agenda or not, there’s no denying that this is a righteous thrash metal album in the vein of such greats as Vio-lence, Testament, Kreator, Dark Angel, Exodus, Slayer and Anthrax. Even the striking cover art, by the legendary Ed Repka (Megadeth, Evil Dead, Nuclear Assault, Biohazard), is reminiscent of that golden age of extreme metal of the mid to late eighties.
EYEHATEGOD will kick off another European leg of their Staggering Backward live takeover. Slated to commence tomorrow, June 6th, 2015, the band will deafen ears through nearly two-dozen venues and thirteen countries beginning in Siegen, Germany at Freak Valley Festival 2015 alongside Earthless, Electric Moon and many more.
The tour also includes a stop at Hellfest in Clisson, France with Superjoint, Saint Vitus, Life Of Agony, Weedeater etc. as well as In Flammen Open Air in Torgau, Germany with Bömbers, Vader, Darkened Nocturn Slaugthercult, Terrorizer LA and others.
The latest stretch of live demolitions follow EYEHATEGOD‘s US mini tour last month which included a punishing performance at Psycho California and the band’s recent Big Easy Entertainment Award win in the category of Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal.
Comments frontman Mike IX Williams: “After multiple nominations throughout the past years; EYEHATEGOD have won the local Big Easy Awards for best New Orleans Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band in this god forbidden city that care has obviously forgotten.”

EYEHATEGOD continues to quake stages in support of their Housecore Records released self-titled LP which inundated the masses in 2014, breaking the band’s decade-and-a-half gap since their prior full-length and marking the most successful release in the band’s twenty-five-year lineage. Having helped define the NOLA sound with their signature down-tuned, blues-inflected guitars awash in furious distortion, underpinning the tormented screams of Mike IX Williams over a thundering rhythm section, EYEHATEGOD reemerged stronger and more determined than ever before. EyeHateGod personifies desperation and addiction in the various backwaters of forgotten America, punctuated by the “N’awlins” sound of rebellion and pollution resulting in triumph over adversity.
Orders for EyeHateGod in North America can be placed via Housecore Records HERE.
“…the best material of their 25-year career.” – Exclaim
“…the record that EHG fans have been waiting for; a stomping and venomous set of eleven tracks that reignite the band’s amazing propensity for down-trodden, electric blues and with their late drummer LaCaze behind the kit.” – Noisey
“…in terms of consistency and sheer ‘fuck yeah’-ness this is right up there in that first tier of must-have EYEHATEGOD platters. Welcome back, boys. You earned it.” – Metal Injection

About:
Capturing the classic thrash sound of the Big Four in their prime; early Metallica, Testament, Slayer, and Megadeth as well as other known cult heroes Exodus, Annihilator, Forbidden and Havok. FALLEN ANGELS is influenced by a wide range of 80’s thrash as well as classic metal from the 70’s and 80’s. The band combines these elements in a fresh, modern sounding album with the explosive riffs and solos that one might have expected to hear on the radio around 1989. FALLEN ANGELS is a band that thrash fans and more classic metal oriented fans can agree on because the music is catchy but also very aggressive.

KING PARROT released their eagerly anticipated Dead Set full-length last month via Housecore Records. Captured by Anselmo and Michael Thompson with Steve Berrigan at the famed Nodferatu’s Lair, KING PARROT‘s Dead Set brandishes ten grind-laden, punk-infused odes of defiant audio savagery bedecked in the dark, cynical humor for which the band has become notorious. A true leap forward from their Bite Your Head Off debut, Dead Set parades a distinct maturity from a band who’s committed to the rigors of international touring, slaying audiences through Asia, North America, Europe and Australia on a steady basis.
Crowned “the soundtrack to the greatest psychotic slasher film that never was,” by American Aftermath, CHILD BITE released their Strange Waste EP, a deliciously bastardized hybrid of the Melvins, Dead Kennedys, Big Black and Faith No More, last Fall via Housecore. The band recently took a brief pause from their current US live excursion to record their forthcoming new full-length with Philip H. Anselmo at his famed Nodferatu’s Lair. Titled Negative Noise, the LP will be released later this year via Housecore.
SUPERJOINT consists of founding members Anselmo, Bower and Bond, with the addition of Joey “Blue” Gonzalez and Steve Taylor. The band churns out a debaucherous crossover of hardcore punk and metal a la Pantera and unleashed two critically lauded full-lengths; 2002’s Use Once And Destroy and 2003’s Lethal Dose Of American Hatred, before taking hiatus in 2005.
On June 4th, 1977 – The legendary Sweet hits #151 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, in the United States, with their fifth studio album: Off the Record. Man, that is some fine album artwork! The Wolf Council, a power-trio from Minneapolis/St. Paul, consists of Steve Williams (vocals, guitar), Jeff Paske (drums), and Steve Post (bass/vocals). The band formed exactly at 1:30am on August 7th 2013 and officially signed to Static Tension Recordings at noon on New Years Eve 2014; The Wolf Council are nothing if not precise! Having spent years toiling around the Minneapolis scene, the trio formed an alliance and The Wolf Council was born. Raised on a steady diet of Melvins, Fugazi, and Big Business, The Wolf Council seek to continue the brutal, sonic attack that the aforementioned bands all exude. Playing live weekly has honed the band’s sound and skill, and has made them a beast live. The band’s début was released on CD in February 2015.
