KHAØS – “After The Silence” New Single And Official Music Video Are: Stone’s METAL Picks Of The Day!

After their critically acclaimed debut EP ‘Rising’ appeared in late 2012, Khaøs have released a brand new single entitled ‘After The Silence’. This new single from Khaøs lyrically mirrors the despair of our world today, with some of the catchiest and memorable Hard Rock that I yearn for. ‘After The Silence’ has instantly glued itself to my brain tissue. Seriously, it did. Vocalist Chandler Mogel is a star, while this entire band should take several bows and realize they have the musical skills to go very, very far with their music. SAINTS OF REBELLION – Names New Drummer

Baltimore, MD: Saints of Rebellion names Anthony Hitaffer new Drummer.

Saints of Rebellion is excited to introduce the newest member to the band, Anthony Hitaffer. Hitaffer will replace original Saints of Rebellion drummer Ryche Green, who announced his departure from the band in July.

Anthony Hitaffer has performed across the Mid-Atlantic region as the drummer of Baltimore based power-trio Wasabi. Hitaffer cut his teeth as direct support for touring national acts such as The Misfits, Faster Pussycat, Adler’s Appetite, Sponge and Charm City Devils. Wasabi has also performed in several Maryland area festivals, including the inaugural Mid-Atlantic Rock Review Festival, the American Legion Armed Forces Day, Rock Harvest, the Baltimore Art Festival and Phoenix Festival. In December 2012, Wasabi played to a completely sold-out house opening for KIX at their annual Kix-Mas concert at Rams Head Live.

Anthony Hitaffer will be joining his brother, Saints of Rebellion bassist/keyboardist Jay Hitaffer. Together they form a synergetic rhythm section that will serve as the powerful driving force behind the band. “I am thrilled by this decision,” says Jay. “I’ve been playing on stage with Anthony for almost his entire life. Having Anthony on board as SOR’s drummer is a dream come true for me! He’s one of the best drummers I’ve ever worked with. His style and ability will make a huge impact on the colossal bottom end we need to complete our rhythm section. I mean, he’s my brother! You can’t get much tighter than that!”

“I am honored to be playing with SOR,” says Anthony. “I love these songs. I was in the rehearsal space when these songs were coming together, so I’ve been a huge SOR fan since the very beginning. I would like to extend my deepest thanks to the band and HighVolMusic for this opportunity. Music is my passion, and I am eager to be on tour playing music for audiences all over the country!”

Saints of Rebellion will be on tour promoting their recent album release, “New American Dream” this summer and fall.

Some Metal and Rock ‘N Roll Thoughts – Sunday July 27th, 2014

It is Sunday, July 27th, 2014 and after 11:00 pm EST as I write this post. Other than wishing the team members on the Animal Planet reality series Finding Bigfoot would at last find this damn creature, wishing for world peace is probably just as moot. What isn’t uncertain are two forthcoming Hard Rock albums that I’m gonna scrape up some spare change to purchase: KIX – Rock Your Face Off and SKID ROW – Rise Of The Damnation Army/United World Rebellion Chapter Two.

Rock ‘N Roll was, is and will forever be a perfect antidote for dispelling the crappy feelings I get when reading the world AND local news! Metal be thy name, isn’t it true for you!? I truly feel it is GRAND that SKID ROW and KIX are both releasing new studio material on the same day in the USA: August 5th! This will be the second in a series of EP studio releases from SKID ROW, with KIX releasing their first studio album since 1995’s Show Business. However, KIX has been a staple and favorite on the live Hard Rock scene for many a year; their 2012 Live In Baltimore release via Frontiers Records is proof positive of this!

Both bands are legendary for sure. I am just psyched-out that SKID ROW and KIX exist in 2014, while giving their fans and the Hard Rock scene something to really look forward to once again. SKID ROW. KIX. Real Deal Hard Rock. Metal be thy name. – Stone.

HighVolMusic Announces Pink Velvet Krush

Baltimore, MD: Pink Velvet Krush, the new group formed by musicians with a notable past. The band is made up of drummer Ryche Green (x-Bulletboys, x-Saints of Rebellion), guitarist Greg Polcari (x-Britny Fox, x-Steelheart), vocalist Doug Savage (x-Vaudeville), guitarist Sean Quidgeon (x-Dust N’ Bones) and bassist Steve Rivera (x-Surrender).

Pink Velvet Krush is currently writing new material and will begin recording the yet to be titled debut in August at Tropic Digital in Long Island, NY. Pink Velvet Krush is set to begin rehearsals for a string of dates also scheduled in August which will mark their inaugural performance. The band will perform their new originals as well as pepper in a few songs from their respective past.

STRIKEFORCE – Land New Deal With HighVolMusic

Baltimore, MD: Midwest Hard Rock band STRIKEFORCE has signed a deal with Maryland based independent music company HighVolMusic. The new project titled “All About The Money” will be released this fall and distributed via MRi/Sony. Tapped to produce the new project was Jason McEntire (The Urge, Uriah Heep, Ken Hensley, Eddie Money) with mastering completed in Germany by Michael Voss (Michael Schenker, UFO, Doro Pesch, Mad Max). STRIKEFORCE is currently playing the Midwest with plans to expand their reach with the release of “All About The Money”.

STRIKEFORCE lineup includes Duke Jackson – guitar, James Murphy – bass, Daryn Underbrink – vocals, and Jimmy Burdette – drums. STRIKEFORCE is currently managed by Sweet Sounds owner and Grammy panel member Ron Berman.

There’s truly no moments on this album that are remotely near average. Between vocalist Lamont Caldwell and lead guitarist Sebastian LeBar, with the rest of this ultra-talented band in-between, Sweet Talk Intervention is a Hard Rock album I can listen to repeatedly without feeling like I’ve had enough. With BIG guitars, soulful and truly memorable vocals, coupled with body inducing GROOVES, this is an album and band that YOU NEED to get your senses wrapped around!

MACH22 is a band that has undeniable eye-popping Hard Rockin’ chemistry and it’s all proof positive from my listening to their debut album. MACH22 stands above the crowded field of up and coming Hard Rock bands due their unique ability to bridge the gap between Classic Rock and Hard Rock of 2014. There is so much relevance and Hard Rock substance happening within the songs on this album that it’s actually bewildering to me. My favorite song? Try the entire album. Metal be thy name. – Stone

KIX – SIGNS WITH LOUD & PROUD RECORDS; FIRST NEW ALBUM IN 19 YEARS CURRENTLY IN THE WORKS AND SET FOR JULY 22nd RELEASE

Look for KIX – Steve Whiteman (lead vocals), Jimmy Chalfant (drums, vocals), Ronnie Younkins (guitars), Brian Forsythe (guitars) and Mark Schenker (bass)—to release their first new album in almost two decades on July 22, thanks to their new partnership with Loud & Proud Records. What makes the project even more exciting and anticipated is that the album features the band’s original line-up, with the exception of Schenker on bass.

“The boys and I are so happy that our old friend, Tom Lipsky, has invited us to join the Loud & Proud family,” exclaims Whiteman. “We worked with Tom and Madelyn Scarpulla on our last studio album, SHOW BUSINESS, and we’re looking forward to working with them again with the release of the first new KIX album in almost 19 years! We’ll still be coming to a dump near you very soon!”

Loud & Proud Owner & President Tom Lipsky adds, “What I have always loved about KIX is they make rock ‘n roll fun. What I love about their new music is that it’s pure, genuine KIX music, straight up guitar rock with no compromise. They’re not chasing trends or trying to re-invent themselves. They’re simply doing what they do best…and now they can do it Loud and Proud!”

Marking the re-emergence of KIX in early-2000’s, the band had teamed up a few times a year to test the waters with reunion shows in Maryland/Pennsylvania, which were very well received. Then in the summer of 2008, KIX performed outside the mid-Atlantic for the first time in 13 years at two of the biggest rock festivals in the U.S. Rocklahoma in Pryor, OK and Rock the Bayou in Houston, TX. The band was hailed by many music websites and attendees as “Best Performance” at both festivals, where they played alongside Sammy Hagar, Alice Cooper, Tesla, Queesryche, Ratt, and more.

As the demand for new music has never subsided and in fact has only increased over the last few years, the band decided that they can no longer ignore the overtures from their fans and are currently recording new KIX songs. The new album, due out summer 2014, is produced by Taylor Rhodes, who last worked with KIX on 1991’s HOT WIRE album. Rhodes has also written hit songs for Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne and Journey.

ANTI-MORTEM “New Southern” – Debut Album Releasing In 1 Week, Via Nuclear Blast Entertainment

Baltimore, MD: New rockers Saints of Rebellion delay their debut release New American Dream until June 3, 2014. “The reasons are quite simple, we added two additional tracks and remixed the entire release, we shot a video that is still being edited, a full radio campaign is being launched, and we just landed a great summer tour. This gives us time to properly setup and service the release and work it the way it should be with all of these things working together. Timing is everything and all of these things give us a little bit more time to do it right.” says label owner Bill Chavis.

Their debut release titled ‘New American Dream’ is slated for April via HighVolMusic however while in Arkansas this month, Saints of Rebellion went back in to the studio and recorded two more tracks to be added to the release which may delay the release date slightly. Details to be announced. ‘New American Dream’ is being mixed by Ty Sims at The Recovery Room.
