California’s Death Metal warriors, THE FACELESS, will be embarking on their US Tour this Summer, on June 26th in Seattle, Washington! Touring to support their new cranium cracking studio album, In Becoming A Ghost, THE FACELESS will be touring across the US, from June to August.
Take my Metal word for it, THE FACELESS are extremely brutal on stage; and with their supporting cast of bands, this tour will prove to be an epic Death Metal experience! Metal Be Thy Name – Stone.
Forever Warriors, Forever United – 100 days to go until the release of DORO‘s highly anticipated new studio album. 100 days of waiting until the metal queen unleashes 25 (!) brand new songs, her first double album ever, upon the music world. But Forever Warriors, Forever United isn’t simply just a double album – it’s two new DORO records as one, which will be released as premium 2CD set and vinyl formats on August 17th, 2018 through Nuclear Blast.
On Forever Warriors, DORO channels her inner wild warrior, with tracks like ‘Bastardos’ or the first single ‘All For Metal’ (release: June 8th) affirming this. Her duet with Amon Amarth frontman Johan Hegg ‘If I Can’t Have You…’ is sure to bring any metal head to their knees. This is DORO like you’ve never heard her before!
New Jersey metal titans Fit For An Autopsy have signed a worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment! The band is currently finishing up writing music for their 5th full-length album; expected to be released sometime in early 2019. More details to follow in the coming months!
The crushing music of FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY is for any fan of extreme metal, as it’s devoid of preachy politics or grandstanding soapboxing, but its sound and fury is absolutely unflinching in purpose. The band expertly blends excessive-force fueled death metal with atmospheric groove and impassioned personal diatribes, reflecting back the dark state of current events.
Whoa! Look at this inaugural Hard Rock festival called STONEDEAF! With SKID ROW headlining, the old-school Thrash & Metal attack of ANVIL, along with BLAZE BAYLEY leading WOLFSBANE, GRAHAMBONNET BAND, THE QUIREBOYS, CHROME MOLLY, MASSIVE WAGONS… this festival is gonna cause earth tremors in the UK that I’ll probably feel way over here in Ohio!! Metal Be Thy Name!! – Stone
STONEDEAF 2018 is on the 25th of August 2018 at Newark Agricultural Showground, Lincoln Road, Winthorpe, Coddington, Newark NG24 2NY.

US epic Metal shooting stars Witherfall will enter the studio to record their eagerly awaited second album, entitled “A Prelude To Sorrow”, the successor of their highly acclaimed debut album “Nocturnes And Requiems”.
The band comments:
“Witherfall have finished writing and are deep into pre-production of our second LP. On May 15th Witherfall will head into the studio to self-produce our follow-up to “Nocturnes And Requiems”. Tracking and engineering wizardry will be handled by JJ Crews at Boogie Tracks Recording Studio in Panama City. The Compositions are both melodically violent and beautifully aggressive with a much Darker Tone than Nocturnes. More news to follow…”
Kristian Wåhlin who has painted the hauntingly beautiful cover artwork of “Nocturnes And Requiems” and who is known for his work for bands as King Diamond, Tiamat, Dissection (Official), The Black Dahlia Murder, and many others, is already working on the cover for “A Prelude To Sorrow”.
Witherfall’s second album is planned for a worldwide release on Century Media Records in early November 2018.
WITHERFALL:
Joseph Michael (lead/harmony vocals/keyboard), Jake Dreyer (lead/rhythm and acoustic guitars), Steve Bolognese (Drums/Percussion) Anthony Crawford (bass) Fili Bibiano (Guitar)

Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the signing of long-time running NWOBHM legends Satan (Band) to its roster.
The heavy metal quintet has signed a multiple album deal with Metal Blade and has just finished recordings for their tentative new album to be released during the second half of 2018!
Comments Satan: “Metal Blade is part of Satan’s past and we are super excited for it to be part of our future. It seems so fitting, it’s hard to imagine another label that could give us a better platform for our music today.”
While standard bearers of the NWOBHM movement and responsible for ’83’s seminal Court In the Act and ’87’s Suspended Sentence, with their tentative new album Satan make it abundantly clear that in 2018 they are not interested in simply capitalizing on past glories. Comprised of 10 tracks of searing metal, it is blatantly and profoundly the work of the Newcastle upon Tyne natives at their very best, infusing their signature sound with a more raw, wild and spontaneous vibe than they showcased on 2015’s mighty Atom By Atom, in the process displaying more passion and energy than slews of bands half their age.
Having reunited in 2012 and returned to touring duty, Satan – comprised of six-stringers Russ Tippins and Steve Ramsey, bassist Graeme English, drummer Sean Taylor and vocalist Brian Ross – once more proved their collective mettle with 2013’s Life Sentence and follow-up Atom By Atom; both records critically acclaimed and maintaining the high standards of their earlier releases. With such a powerful collection in their hands the band were unsurprisingly eager to take it on the road, and they once again had successful tours and festival runs in Europe, North America and South America, culminating with a slot opening for Pentagram in Helsinki, which Tippins counts as a true honor.
Satan will unleash their latest batch of classical Heavy Metal songs in the second half of 2018. Be prepared for one of the best Metal albums of the year and stay tuned for more information about it!
For decades, Lizzy Borden has been one of theatrical rock’s top front-men. And on June 15th, Borden will issue his first album in 11 years, My Midnight Things, via Metal Blade Records. With the hard n’ heavy tracks of the album opening title cut “Obsessed With You” and “The Scar Across My Heart”, the extended layoff between albums has not dulled his desire to rock and shock.
“Although we have stayed busy touring all over the world, I missed being a recording artist. I look at the new album as a new beginning, I pushed the restart button on my career,” Borden comments.
The album can be pre-ordered (and the “My Midnight Things” lyric video can be viewed) via this link: metalblade.com/lizzyborden – where the record is available in the following formats:
–limited 1st edition Digipak-CD (includes bonus tracks)
–jewelcase-CD
–180g black vinyl
–clear pacific blue marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–clear burgundy marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
–olive/black marbled vinyl (US exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–opaque cool gray marbled vinyl (US exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
* exclusive bundles with a shirt, plus digital options are also available!
Having signed a new contract with Metal Blade on the strength of three demo tracks, Borden opted to produce My Midnight Things himself, with Joey Scott as co-producer, who also handled all the drumming duties. “I knew what I was going for and had doubts that I could find a producer who would understand that,” Borden explains. “My approach is very different than what is happening in today’s current sound.”
The album was also mixed by Greg Fidelman (Metallica, Black Sabbath, Adele, U2) and mastered by Tom Baker (David Bowie, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Tom Petty).
Borden is planning on hitting the road shortly. “I’ve already started working on the ‘My Midnight Things‘ show, and I really can’t wait to play these songs live,” Borden adds. “There are so many talented players out there in the world, I know I will find the right musicians to be on stage with me in my touring band in the new show. And just based on what is being talked about so far, it will be the best show I’ve ever done. I really do feel a new excitement that I have not felt in years. The best is yet to come.”

GOATWHORE‘s latest full-length, Vengeful Ascension, was released last June via Metal Blade Records. Their seventh full-length offering and second recorded reel-to-reel was captured at Earth Analog in Tolono, Illinois with longtime soundman and comrade Jarrett Pritchard (1349, Gruesome, Wolfhammer) and serves as the band’s highest charting album to date.
MetalSucks named Vengeful Ascension the band’s, “most vital album since 2006’s A Haunting Curse,” and one, “guaranteed to frighten your grandmother directly into her grave.” Team Rock crowned Vengeful Ascension, “…the most mature recording in the GOATWHORE canon…,” while Loudwire added, “Vengeful Ascension has extremity black metal fans will dig, groove that will appeal to death metal aficionados, and potent guitar work thrash lovers can appreciate.”
Vengeful Ascension is out now on Metal Blade Records on CD, vinyl, and digital formats. To preview and purchase the record, visit metalblade.com/goatwhore.
“The album roars with the classic GOATWHORE sound of searing, shredding, and screams of rage. The material also tries some new things, tossing in a bit of blackened atmosphere, adding to the philosophical questions the music dives into.” — Alternative Press
Old school worship! As soon as you get in touch with the songs of this Polish band, you will feel like you are reminded of legendary metal days. Come into life in Warsaw in 2012, THUNDERWAR are paying tribute to bands like DISSECTION, BATHORY, DEATH, OBITUARY and the 1980s NWOBHM. …and much more! After all, the quartet is not content to only emulate their role models. The Poles are also anxious to leave their own accents in the annals of metal. Thus one got to know and appreciate THUNDERWAR on the first EP “The Birth of Thunder” and the full-length debut “Black Storm”.
The five songs of the “Wolfpack” EP continue the chosen path. The Polish group works out even more clearly and compellingly which kind of metal it prefers. This metal is tradition-conscious, harsh and hymnal, and at the same time also complex and exciting. Great riffs, solos, hooklines and poses are part of THUNDERWAR‘s repertoire. The Old School Blackened Death Metal of the quartet has it all! Incidentally, the atmospheric and playful edge of THUNDERWAR‘s metal is surprising and inspiring. These guys know how to write and play metal hymns for eternity.
The “Wolfpack” EP was recorded in Monochrom Studio with producer Haldor (Satanic Audio). Drums were performed by Paweł ‘Pavulon’ Jaroszewicz (HATE), while James Stewart (VADER) filled in for the last live shows of THUNDERWAR. Over their time of existence, the group shared stages with legends such as CARCASS, MAYHEM, AMON AMARTH, ABBATH, DEATH (D.T.A.), OBITUARY, ASPHYX and SINISTER.
“Wolfpack” out May 25th on Lifeforce Records.

That ominous rumbling you heard was not a deception perpetrated by your ears, but rather a warning of a nefarious force emerging from the streets of Birmingham, Alabama. That force is KAMIKAZE ZOMBIE and Night of the Nuberus is now upon us. Released in September 2017, the time has arrive for the rest of the world to heed the warning and prepare for an old school crossover attack that combines Black Metal melodies, Doom/Sludge/Death Metal breakdowns, and in-your-face punk/thrash aggression with lyrical content inspired by horror films. And let’s not forget about the serial-killer themed stage shows!
Stream Night of the Nuberus in its entirety below or by visiting the following link:
The music of Night of the Nuberus was written by Clint Spain and Steve Cater, the former also penning the lyrics. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Matthew Washburn (Mastodon) at LedBelly Sound Studio. Artwork and layout come courtesy of Shawn Knight.
Vocalist/Guitarist Clint Spain had this to say about the band’s macabre creation:
“Night of the Nuberus is our first major release. We went for a horror movie vibe in writing and recording the album, like a love letter to old slasher movies and horror punk bands. But my love for the New Orleans scene, black metal and the Melvins definitely bleeds through.”
KAMIKAZE ZOMBIE started in 2014. They are a heavy crossover band from Birmingham Al, with multiple influences from hardcore, metal and punk. All of these very different influences led them to become their own genre of heavy music with multiple styles flowing through every KZ song.
KAMIKAZE ZOMBIE has shared the stage with Superjoint (Phil Anselmo and Jimmy bower), Max and Igor Cavalera, Cannibal Corpse, Doyle, Crowbar, Power Trip, Raven, OVERKILL, Venom, Child Bite, GoatWhore, Iron Reagan, Battle Cross,Valient Thorr, Havok, Toxic Holocaust, Decapitated, Hammer Fight, GateCreeper, Dark Sermon, Exalted and many more.
Album Line-up:
Clint Spain – Vocals and guitar
Steve Cater – Lead guitar, backing vocals and bass
March 28, 2018 – Fullerton, Calif. – The Melvins, who recently announced the April 20 release of Pinkus Abortion Technician (Ipecac Recordings), have debuted the Mackie Osborne directed video for “Embrace The Rub” – watch below.
“’Embrace The Rub’ is a Steven McDonald penned, punker tune throwback to his days as a young Hawthorne, CA punk hanging out with Black Flag,” explained Dale Crover. “For some reason, I decided that this tune really needed a piano part.”
The eight-song album is the band’s first to feature two bass tracks on every song, with the bass players being Steve McDonald (Redd Kross, OFF!) and Jeff Pinkus (Butthole Surfers). The Melvins previously shared the song “Stop Moving To Florida” from the forthcoming release:

2009 Release Surfaces on Vinyl, CD and Digital Formats
First Tour Dates of 2018 Revealed
“Death Metal needs blood, fire and carnage,” declares JUNGLE ROT throat and rhythm guitarist Dave Matrise. Today, JUNGLE ROT has released a brand new video for ‘The Unstoppable,’ from their long out-of-print album What Horrors Await. The fourteen track underground classic will debut on vinyl format for the first time worldwide on Record Store Day, April 21, 2018.
“Filming the point-of-view aspect from a tank made this video so much better,” states Matrise. “Instead of performing with instruments, we came up with the idea of each JUNGLE ROT soldier inside their own tank – mercilessly fighting and communicating to each other back and forth like killing machines. The lyrics are actually about a rolling death machine and she’s called ‘The Unstoppable,’ the bloodiest, most bad-ass beast you’ve ever seen! Doing the camo face paint is something that I wanted to do for a while and it really captured the whole feel we were going for. Prepare for a total alpha-strike, war-gore cloud of fear with a stop-at-nothing attitude in the thick of battle!”
On the re-issued album Matrise points out, “When we first released What Horrors Await in 2009, it was a one-time deal with a limited run. CD’s never made it to the US and were sold only in Europe where the previous label was based. What Horrors Await has always been JUNGLE ROT’s most sought-after album with fans often paying ridiculous amounts of money for it on eBay. It’s really been a rare and collectible album. We’re so glad it’s now out on our home label Victory Records, it will give everybody a chance to finally hear this monstrous release.”
JUNGLE ROT storm into Canada next week for their first shows of 2018, in anticipation of their tenth studio album (set for a spring release). “We feel lucky to be able to express ourselves through so many albums and I’m hoping our fans will never tire of meat and potatoes metal!” admits guitarist Geoff Bub, as bassist James Genenz adds, “We’ve got quite a fire under our collective asses and we’re psyched to get this album out! This is going to be a nasty record!”
JUNGLE ROT 2018 DATES
April 4 – Toronto, CAN @ Coalition
April 5 – Ottawa, CAN @ Café Dekcuf
April 6 – Trois Rivieres, CAN @ Trois Rivieres Metalfest
This May, Faroese-based folk metal band TYR will headline a North American tour with Orphaned Land, Ghost Ship Octavius and Aeternam. The journey will kick off on May 5th in Brooklyn, New York and wind its way through nearly two-dozen cities, coming to a close on May 28th in Atlanta, Georgia. See all confirmed dates below.
TYRfounding frontman Heri Joensen comments: “It’s been way too long since we visited Vinland, and we’re hellbent on having a blast of a time on this trip!”
TYR is currently finishing work on their eighth studio album, due out this fall via Metal Blade Records. The follow-up to 2013’s critically claimed Valkyrja full-length involves a story based around a nameless, Viking-era warrior who leaves his woman to impress the Valkyrie on the battlefield so that she may bring him to Valhalla, or to Folkvangr, the home of Freyja, the goddess associated with love, sexuality, beauty, fertility, gold, sorcery, war, and death. One can say the album is also indirectly about women and how they affect men and what men will do to impress and obtain women. Joensen elaborates, “The woman that the warrior leaves may represent the earthly women. Freyja, The Lady Of The Slain, may represent the perfection of women, and the Valkyrie is the link between the two, taking men from earthly to godly women.”
Long-running Washington-based heavy rock trio MOS GENERATOR will release a new full-length this May via Listenable Records. Titled Shadowlands, the eight-track studio offering was recorded in three sessions — June 2017, November 2017, and January 2018 — at the HeavyHead Recording Company in Port Orchard, Washington and comes swathed in the cover art of Adam Burke [Pilgrim, Satan’s Satyrs, Hooded Menace, Artificial Brain et al].
“Right from the opening song, Shadowlands is a record that, to me, feels more honest than our previous releases,” relays founding guitarist/vocalist/principal songwriter Tony Reed. “On this record, I introduce many other styles that I enjoy but they are intertwined so subtly that it doesn’t interrupt the classic MOS GENERATOR sound. That is a balance I’ve been looking for over the last few albums and I think the presence of [drummer] Jon Garrett and [bassist] Sean Booth have a lot to do with achieving that balance. It’s a heavy rock record that breaths and if I had to describe it further I would say it mixes ’70s style heavy rock, progressive rock, and also has some weird ’80s and ’90s underground rock nuances.”
Shadowlands will see release via Listenable Records in Europe on May 11th followed by a US street date of May 18th with preorder info to be announced in the coming weeks.
Shadowlands – Track Listing:
1. Shadowlands
2. The Destroyer
3. Drowning In Your Loving Cup
4. Stolen Ages
5. Gamma Hydra
6. The Blasting Concept
7. Woman Song
8. The Wild & Gentle Dogs
In advance of the release of Shadowlands, MOS GENERATOR will take on a month-long, cross-country US tour. Set to commence on April 20th, the Road Rats Tour 2018 will run through May 26th and includes sixteen dates supporting Fu Manchu! See all confirmed shows below.
MOS GENERATOR formed during the Winter of 2000 in Port Orchard, Washington from the ashes of a decade-long on-again-off-again collaboration between its three members, all of which are long time veterans of the road and studio. The need to strip down to the basics of hard rock was apparent from the start and continues to be the foundation for the band’s recent material.
MOS GENERATOR has released seven studio albums, a retrospective album, a live album, and a plethora of split releases. 2015 brought in a new rhythm section and touring possibilities far beyond the limitations of the original lineup. This new lineup has changed the band into a relentless touring machine, delivering critically acclaimed performances both states and abroad. “They are so good,” gushed Maximum Volume Music, “you end up wanting to round-up a couple of mates, buy a Transit, form a three-piece rock ‘n’ roll band and go on tour.”
MOS GENERATOR: Tony Reed – guitar, vocals, keyboards Sean Booth – bass Jon Garrett – drums
“It’s as pure an example of heavy rock as I’ve heard.” JJ Koczan – The Obelisk
