UK supermetallers MONSTERWORKS have made their newest album, Overhaul, available as a digital download via Bandcamp. The album was originally scheduled to be released on vinyl the last week of August and has been pushed back to September.
The band commented:
“Our new album, Overhaul, is out now. It will be our first on vinyl, as well as digital, so we are doubly excited….however….unfortunately there has been a delay in pressing the LPs and, rather than postpone the release date, we will simply take orders. In the meantime, you can get your Bandcamp download immediately. Shipping date is estimated on September 18. As a thank you for waiting we will throw in a free CD of Album of Man to go out with LP orders!”

On July 18, 2014 the hymn-like “Bushido” will be released as the first single track – digitally as well as on vinyl. The song sums up the band and its history perfectly, as in Japanese bushido means “the way of the warrior”.
The track list of “Bushido” will be:
A: Bushido
B: The Way Of The Warrior (remixed by Fredrik Nordström)
The track listing of “(r)Evolution” will be like this:
REAPER – German Metal legends REAPER have a new studio album releasing via Massacre Records, on July 25th, 2014. An Atheist Monument is this new album and it’s overflowing with ALL things grand about Heavy Metal! This new offering from REAPER has me psyched-out of my Metal mind; air guitar and air drums enthusiasts take notice! Powerful, melodic and laced with retro vibes and sounds of True Metal, REAPER has scored in a titanic way with An Atheist Monument.
Daniel Zimmermann (guitar) and Benjamin “Benni” Lodewig (guitar & backing vocals) are Metal sensations to take in; their muscular riffs, memorable leads and solos are Heavy Metal personified. Damn great stuff. Jan Breede (drums & backing vocals) plays the song and adds an incredible dynamic to this entire album; he’s a Metal treat to listen to. Matthias “Mäfju” Kraft (bass & backing vocals) adds his musical thunder and combined with Jan Breede’s drumming it’s a headbanging Metal experience to behold!
Daniel Zimmermann also is the lead vocalist and he sings like a Metal giant! His vocals are stuff of conquer all and death to the Metal posers. I believe my Metal brethren reading this know what I mean and it’s Metal truth. Twelve delectable Heavy Metal songs are on the CD, with nine songs on the LP version. Hetoimasia is this album’s instrumental opener and it signals that the Metal power-surge is on! I just knew it was gonna be a great Metal ride upon my first listen and it only gets better with each Metal serving. Whoa.
Being their 5th studio album overall and first with Massacre Records, REAPER could not have found a better record label to call home. Celebrating their 30th anniversary on stage with this new album should catapult REAPER into our community’s Metal limelight; buying this mandatory Metal work and spreading the Metal word about REAPER should be on every Metalhead’s to-do list in 2014! REAPER waves the anti-religion flag with mega Metal potency and they have my Metal respect. Hail REAPER and Metal be thy name! – Stone

The Last Neanderthal even includes a cover of “Soulless Woman” by a different OGRE, a ’70s bar band from the Pacific Northwest.
The Last Neanderthal – Track Listing:
Shadow Earth
Nine Princes in Amber

OGRE will celebrate the release of The Last Neanderthalwith a CD Release show on March 14, at Geno’s Rock Club in Portland, Maine. For show details, click HERE.
OGRE History:
OGRE formed in 1999 when Ed Cunningham (bass/vocals) joined forces with Ross Markonish (guitar) and Will Broadbent (drums), who had been playing together in several bands in the Portland, Maine music scene. Together, Ed, Ross, and Will quickly wrote and recorded a 4-track demo cassette that garnered high praise in the underground Doom Metal and Stoner-rock community.
In 2003, the band self-released its first full length, Dawn of the Proto-Man, to critical acclaim. The disc created enough buzz to get noticed by Japan’s Leafhound Records, who put out the band’s second and third albums, Seven Hells in 2006 and Plague of the Planet in 2008, the latter album being reissued by Shadow Kingdom Records in 2009. After a decade of playing shows up and down the East Coast as well abroad (Japan Tour with Church of Misery and Blood Farmers in 2008), OGRE returned to its cave in September 2009.
Coaxed out of hibernation after several years, the band played a handful of local shows and began writing new material that would eventually comprise its fourth album, The Last Neanderthal, to be released by Minotauro Records (Italy) in March 2014. As one of the first currently active bands to be signed to the newly-recharged Minotauro, OGRE is ready to stampede into the next phase of its career.
Atlanta riff-masters GUNPOWDER GRAY, Boris Records and PureGrainAudio.com have come together for the world premiere and exclusive free download of the band’s latest track, Cut Me Out. The song comes from GUNPOWDER GRAY’s upcoming 12-inch, seven-tune vinyl EP, which is due out via Boris Records on Record Store Day (April 20).
When they are not performing with Atlanta-based Death Metal grinders Disfigurement, vocalist Nate Godbee and guitarist Adam Besserer pair with three local punk veterans and dig deep down to the roots of heavy Rock And Roll as Gunpowder Gray. The group, which also features Sam Vaughan (bass), Chris Heffernan (guitar and vocals), and Biters drummer Joey O’Brien, captures the blues-tinged, riff driven sound of classic acts ranging from metal progenitors like Black Sabbath and Pentagram to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.
On April 20, the band follows up its debut three song demo with a seven song 12″ E.P., its first vinyl release on Atlanta’s Boris Records. Limited colored vinyl (100) will be available on Record Store day.
Both Shows in Bochum Zeche are now SOLD OUT, get your tickets soon for the other shows as the sales are high already! Don´t tell us you haven’t been warned!
