The architect of crossover thrash is back. Nameless Grave Records is proud to announce the official release of the self-titled debut from SUBVERSION TRIGGER, the new Seattle-based powerhouse led by Les Evans (Cryptic Slaughter). The album will be available on CD and Cassette on February 25th, with pre-orders launched!
“I wanted to get back to something that felt immediate and dangerous,” says Evans regarding the project. “Subversion Trigger is the sound of us not overthinking it. Just raw, crossover energy with the volume pushed past the limit.”
For fans of the blistering speed of Municipal Waste, Excel, Cryptic Slaughter and the manic delivery of The Accüsed, this release is an essential addition to the crossover canon. With the digital version already circulating, these limited physical editions serve as the definitive “artifact” for collectors and die-hards alike.
Nameless Grave Records is proud to announce the March 27 release of ‘Heavy Metal Hairspray,’ the crushing new album from HEAVY METAL SHRAPNEL. Spearheaded by the mighty Andrew Lee (Ripped to Shreds) and featuring the legendary vocals of Mark Boals (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen), the album marks a shift toward a leaner, meaner brand of US Power Metal.
Eschewing the symphonic and styles of his recent work, Heavy Metal Hairspray sees Boals returning to the aggressive, riff-filled territory that defined his career-making performance on Yngwie Malmsteen’s Trilogy.
“Heavy Metal has long needed a kick in the balls. Mawkish nostalgia and ironic parody betray a lack of love and understanding for HEAVY METAL THUNDER, and heavy metal is all about love. This is the comeback of big hair and even bigger riffs”
The album also brings in another legendary musician on “Overdose,” featuring a guest appearance by keyboard wizard Derek Sherinian. Abandoning long-form indulgence, HEAVY METAL SHRAPNEL delivers high-impact songs that honor the legacy of Cacophony, Vinnie Moore, and Tony MacAlpine.
Today, you can get your first whiff of the aerosol can by checking out “Love is a Racket,” the first single from the new record.
Rising Blackened Symphonic Death Metal force Eternios return with their monumental new single “Requiem of the North,” the title track from their highly anticipated sophomore album due out in late 2026. The single marks the next evolution of the project originally founded by multi‑instrumentalist and composer Colin Ryley (Hyperia, Bayonet Dismemberment), who launched Eternios as a studio‑only creative outlet before expanding it into a full live band.
Following the acclaimed 2025 debut Mysterium, praised for its fusion of aggressive black metal and sweeping orchestral arrangements, Eternios now sharpen their vision with a colder, more expansive sound rooted deeply in the landscapes that inspired it.
“Requiem of the North” is both a musical and emotional centerpiece for the upcoming album.
“This single and the album in general are my love letter to the northern wilderness of Canada. I’ve spent countless hours roaming the forests and mountains of Western Canada. That cold, melancholic silence you feel surrounded by snow and frost is something I wanted to channel directly into the music,”says Colin.
The track erupts with blast beats, tremolo‑picked harmonies, and sweeping orchestral layers before shifting into a massive, melodic chorus. A neo‑classical C‑section and a soaring dual‑guitar outro push the composition into cinematic territory, blending extreme aggression with haunting beauty.
Colin describes Eternios’ sonic identity in five words: Melodic, Aggressive, Melancholic, Intricate, Fast.
“Requiem of the North”embodies all of these traits while offering a polished and expanded version of the sound established on Mysterium. With the transition toward live performance, vocalist Marlee Ryley (Hyperia) now fronts the band, allowing Colin to focus fully on guitar and orchestrations.
“I’m very proud of how the single turned out. I think it’s a great representation of what’s coming on the full‑length. I hope fans of extreme black metal and extreme melodic metal both find something to connect with,” adds Colin.
The single’s artwork, created by renowned artist Mike Hrubovcak (Visual Darkness), is a chilling preview of the full album’s visual world.
“It’s very winter‑heavy. Icy blues, whites, and music notation swirling out of a polar blizzard. Mike’s work with Imperial Crystalline Entombment is some of my favourite black metal artwork ever, so collaborating with him was incredible,” says Colin.
Eternios remains a deeply personal project at its core. Colin explains further:
“All the songs were written by me, usually locked away for hours piecing together structures and symphonic arrangements until I’m satisfied. The music almost always comes first. The lyrics are shaped by the imagery the music creates.”
While the debut album was entirely written, performed, and produced by Colin Ryley, the new era of Eternios will see more collaboration as the full lineup solidifies. “Requiem for the North,” the album, will feature nine original tracks and one cover, delivering a sweeping journey through frostbitten atmospheres, melodic aggression, and symphonic grandeur. The album is expected in Spring 2026, with more singles to follow.
“This album contains all the darkness, harmony, and aggression that define Eternios. The songs have been flowing naturally, and I expect many more albums to come,”adds Colin.
Today, IGORRR presents their latest video, “Limbo.” The track comes by way of the outfit’s chart topping fifth album, Amen, released in September via Metal Blade Records.
French multi-instrumentalist and producer Gautier Serre has been operating under the name IGORRR for 20 years now, yet each new record still resounds with a startling freshness and radical vitality. Gautier’s steadfastly unclassifiable and stunning Amen full-length maintains this impact, blindsiding the listener with a new set of exploratory curveballs and continuing to surprise and unnerve even the most attuned enthusiast. The record includes guest appearances by Scott Ian (Anthrax), Trey Spruance (Mr. Bungle), and Mike Leon (CKY, ex-Soulfly).
Of “Limbo,” Gautier elaborates, “It’s an endless battle between good and evil. Beauty navigates through evil, always keeping its head above the surface, even in the heaviest storm.”
European fans can catch IGORRR live next month on an extensive headlining tour with support provided by their Metal Blade labelmates Dvne as well as Thoughtcrimes. THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE will unleash their pulverizing eighth full-length, The Dead Ones, on April 17th. Intense and intensely personal, The Dead Ones marks the band’s Metal Blade Records debut. Produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland of Pennsylvania’s Atrium Audio, with their latest offering the band focused on the guitar, bass, and drum tones as well as the mix/master to achieve what guitarist Wyatt McLaughlin calls, “a super-thick sonic output and ‘rolling-tank’-like feel.”
The Dead Ones was recorded with a six-string baritone Viper from ESP-LTD tuned to Drop F, the same tuning used on the band’s 2012 Warpath EP. To elevate the intensity, the band also used an Earthquaker Devices Sunn O))) and Keeley Octa Psi drop tune pedal on certain sections. The record also includes four stellar guests: “Make It To Heaven” includes David Simonich of Signs Of The Swarm, Nate Johnson (ex-Fit For An Autopsy) appears on “Rat Trap,” “Dollar To A Dime” has Alan Grnja of Distant, and “XXXXXXXXXX” features original THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE vocalist Storm Strope.
The Dead Ones will be released on CD and digital formats as well as vinyl in the following color variants:
Tan Smoke (US) Purple Marble (US) Grey Black Marbled (EU – Ltd. 300) Metallic Silver w/ Purple And Blue Smoke (EU – Ltd. 250) Silver Black Melt (EU – Ltd. 250)

Hungarian speed maniacs TÜRBÖWITCH have announced that their third full-length album, Under Haunted Skies, will be released on March 20th, 2026, via Time To Kill Records.
The new record marks a decisive step forward for the Budapest-based band, further refining the uncompromising attitude and relentless live energy that have earned them a strong reputation within the European underground. With Under Haunted Skies, TÜRBÖWITCH deliver their most focused and ferocious material to date: a concentrated blast of massive riffs, breakneck tempos and instinctive urgency.
Rooted in blackened speed-thrash, the album draws from the raw savagery and punk-fueled aggression of acts like Midnight, the razor-sharp thrash precision of The Crown, and the dark melodic drive of Hellripper, while maintaining a clearly identifiable personality. Melodic accents cut through the chaos, adding depth and character without ever dulling the band’s visceral impact.
Faithful to their no-compromise ethos, TÜRBÖWITCH channel the spirit of ’80s extreme metal through a modern sense of immediacy, delivering songs that are fast, filthy and built for maximum impact. With Time To Kill Records backing the release of Under Haunted Skies, the band are poised to bring their unholy speed assault to a wider audience, while remaining firmly rooted in the reckless intensity that has defined them since day one.
“The moment of evil’s arrival. Markoláb, the Devourer of the celestial sphere of old folklore, sweeps across the earth. Human civilization collapses into dust: fire, shadow, and unavoidable destruction. The apocalypse is no longer a prophecy, it is reality”.
Track-list:
01 – Evoker of the Twilight 02 – Markoláb 03 – Under Haunted Skies 04 – Cult Mastery 05 – Ashbringer 06 – Highways of Death 07 – Ultimate Failure of Will 08 – When the World Crumbled 09 – Moshpit at the End of the Day 10 – Road to Resilience
Australian-Finnish dark progressive gothic metal collective THE ETERNAL celebrates the release of their new, critically-acclaimed EP, entitled “Celestial“, that is out now on powerhouse label Reigning Phoenix Music.
To mark the day, the band have unveiled an official music video for “Celestial Veil”, a track that highlights their talent for slow-burning heaviness and emotional depth. The EP is available digitally and as a limited, eco-friendly recycled vinyl LP edition (exclusively available through the band’s official store and the RPM shop).
Built on restrained weight and a drifting sense of atmosphere, the new single “Celestial Veil” unfolds like a moment suspended in time. The video mirrors this feeling through cosmic imagery, light meets vast darkness, visually reinforcing the song’s themes of loss, distance, and fragile connection.
Featuring celestial metaphors, “Celestial Veil” captures the longing and grief of separation. As stars fade and time stands still, the song reveals that love, though fragile and doomed, remains a luminous force: eternal in memory and dreams beyond the darkness.
“The lyrics of “Celestial Veil” depict a meditation on loss, memory, and the cosmic inevitability of separation,” the band reveals. “They weave imagery of stars, constellations, and light fading into darkness to reflect the fragility of human connection and the grief of distance between two souls. The recurring theme of time standing still suggests moments of longing suspended against the vastness of the universe, while the celestial metaphors frame love and loss as forces written in the stars, beautiful yet doomed. Despite despair and fading light, Mark clings to memory and dreams, revealing both the pain of absence and the enduring pull of an eternal, though fragile, bond.”

Following the success of their acclaimed 2024 album Skinwalker,THE ETERNAL now return with their new EP Celestial. Continuing their signature fusion of melancholic atmospheres, doom-laden heaviness, and progressive depth, the band once again delivers an emotive and cinematic journey through sound and spirit, unafraid to embrace both beauty and bleakness while charting new creative horizons.
With Mark Kelson (vocals/guitars) and Richie Poate (guitars) in Melbourne, joined by Niclas Etelävuori (bass, ex-Amorphis/Flat Earth) and Jan Rechberger (drums, Amorphis) in Helsinki, THE ETERNAL have solidified themselves as a truly international collaboration. Their music resonates with fans of acts such as Katatonia, Swallow the Sun, and Anathema – dark yet luminous, heavy yet emotionally transcendent!
LEAVES’ EYES open a new chapter in 2026 with the release of their upcoming EP Song Of Darkness! The band now unveils the title track and EP opener together with an epic new video, offering the first full glimpse into this next creative cycle.
Recorded at Mastersound Studio under the production of band mastermind Alexander Krull, the EP expands the group’s trademark fusion of orchestral depth and metallic intensity. It captures LEAVES’ EYES at a moment of artistic strength, balancing sweeping symphonic arrangements with an earthy, human pulse.
Lyrically, Song Of Darkness travels along the shifting borders between myth, magic, and history. The title track itself draws inspiration from the medieval Icelandic saga of Gisli the Outlaw, leading listeners into a world of murder, intrigue, guilt-ridden dreams, and the hope for redemption.
The LEAVES’ EYES vocalists share about the new single: “Our Song of Darkness transports you to a world of dark dreams and inner turmoil, where mystical spirits from ancient times guide your destiny,” says Alexander Krull, and adds it’s: “A tragic love story, but no happy ending.”
Elina Siirala comments: “Song of Darkness is like a play with contrasts…it combines the mysterious and dark with light and angelic. In the midst of a dark story, there’s a feeling of hopefulness! The opposing elements create once again a perfect canvas and drama for a Leaves’ Eyes song!”
Each track on Song Of Darkness unfolds like a chapter in a saga, cinematic in scale yet personal in emotion. Elina Siirala’s commanding performance brings the stories to life, illuminating the storm of sound around her, while Krull’s growls ground the music with raw force.
Towering choirs and strings rise beside crushing riffs, with folk-inspired melodies weaving through the dark. From the orchestral grandeur of its opening moments to the final echo of its closing refrain, the EP builds an atmosphere defined by tension, release, and the timeless pull of legend.
With its mix of mythic storytelling, emotional depth, and powerful symphonic metal, Song Of Darkness showcases LEAVES’ EYES at full strength. The EP arrives March 6, 2026 via Reigning Phoenix Music. In support of Song Of Darkness, the band will be playing a series of European and UK dates with special guests CATALYST CRIME, and many more dates to follow. Find all upcoming shows listed below!
Death metal maniacs NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS are back in full blood-drenched form with their new single, “Left To Die,” a crushing mid-tempo bruiser taken from the forthcoming EP Zombie Blood Nightmare, arriving February 20, 2026.
“Left To Die” is a straight-ahead stomp fest rooted in classic 1990s death metal, drawing clear influence from the pit-driving grooves of OBITUARY. Built on thick riffs and head-crushing momentum, the track culminates in a ripping end-of-song guitar solo from former MEGADETH shredder Jeff Young, adding a sharp flash of old-school virtuosity to the carnage.
Lyrically, “Left To Die” keeps things simple and gloriously vile. The song tells the story of being abandoned in a gore pit, surrounded by blood and guts and facing an inevitable end. No metaphors and no apologies. Blood and guts are fun.
NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS return with a fiery vengeance on Zombie Blood Nightmare, a new EP that finds the band at their most unhinged. Across six blood-soaked songs, the band pushes hard to recapture the glory days of 1990s death metal, blending horror, violence, and undead absurdity into a relentless riff-driven assault. This is NEM fully committed to terror, stupidity, and the raw spirit of the genre.
“Left To Die” serves as a blunt and bloody introduction to what Zombie Blood Nightmare delivers in full. Heavy, grotesque, and unapologetic.
NORTH AMERICAN INTO OBLIVION TOUR KICKS OFF ON MARCH 17
Jan. 15, 2026 – RICHMOND, Va. – Lamb of God have set a March 13 release date for their new album, Into Oblivion (Epic Records), marking the band’s first full-length release in four years.
Into Oblivion finds Lamb of God embracing their position as modern metal veterans, beholden to no one, with nothing left to prove. The 10-song collection references the band’s roots, doubles down on their signature groove, and expands their approach, resulting in an album that feels both deliberate and untethered.
News of Into Oblivion’s March arrival is accompanied by the debut of its title track, “Into Oblivion,” alongside a video (https://lamb-of-god.lnk.to/IntoOblivionOfficial) directed by Tom Flynn and Mike Watts. Aggressive and as unforgiving as ever, the song pairs the band’s musical ferocity with psychologically charged lyrics.
“For me, the album is about having the space to breathe creatively and not feeling like we have to keep up with any trend or expectation,” guitarist Mark Morton shares. “It feels nice to be untethered from any agenda beyond rallying around the notion of, ‘Let’s just make music that we think is cool,’ which is really where it all started.”
Vocalist Randy Blythe doesn’t mince words on why the band decided to name the album Into Oblivion, saying candidly: “Because that’s where we’re heading. In general, the album is about the ongoing and rapid breakdown of the social contract, particularly here in America. Things are acceptable now that would’ve horrified people just 20 years ago.”
In the months leading up to today’s announcement, the metal veterans released a pair of blistering singles that offered listeners a taste of the album’s range. “Sepsis,” the band’s first new song since 2022, paid homage to the early ‘90s Richmond underground that shaped Lamb of God’s formative years. Consequence, in their Heavy Song of the Week feature, noted the track’s fresh approach, saying “Morton’s riffs are bruising at this slower pace,” and adding that Blythe bellows “like a heavy metal Nick Cave.” “Parasocial Christ” followed, evoking classic Lamb of God with a three-minute onslaught that Revolver dubbed an “anti-tech thrasher.”
Produced and mixed by longtime studio collaborator Josh Wilbur, Into Oblivion was recorded across multiple locations tied closely to the band’s identity. Drums were tracked in Richmond, Va., with guitars and bass recorded at Morton’s home studio. Blythe recorded his vocals at the legendary Total Access studio in Redondo Beach, Calif., the birthplace of seminal punk records by Black Flag, Hüsker Dü, and Descendents.
Album pre-orders, including multiple limited-edition vinyl variants and signed copies, are available now (https://shop.lamb-of-god.com/collections/into-oblivion). An unannounced first pressing of the album was quietly posted on the band’s website earlier this week, and sold out immediately.
Lamb of God previously announced a Spring North American tour in what promises to be the heaviest trek of 2026. Joined by Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg, the tour kicks off on March 17. Tickets and VIP packages are on-sale now via Lamb-of-god.com/tour.

Like a black wind rising off peatlands long left to silence, Ireland’s COSCRADH unearths their second album, Carving The Causeway To The Otherworld, wrenching up the bog-roads of the dead through dread sorcery.
An invocation of deep-rooted heritage and ancient mysticism, the album resurrects the three-thousand-year-old oaken pathways raised by warring tribes under the cold eye of the druid, toward the realm beyond life, and conjuring these vanished labors with the memory of violence itself.
Channeling the druid as both astronomer and war-seer, COSCRADH invokes Mars as the god whose red light demands sacrifice, revealing Gaelic warriors hollowing themselves into vessels and letting the fury of Goac enter and devour them for battle. Guitars flare and burn like meteors knifing the horizon, unfurling riffs rusted with ancestral power.
The blistering percussive onslaught crashes like hooves on dead earth as the band’s savage ferocity erupts like a war-cry cast into the heavens, crowned in ruinous splendor. COSCRADH fully inhabits this domain between worlds, breathing into their work the fury and spiritual force of a people who carved truths into land, sky, and grave.

A communion of druidic science and blood, ritual aggression, and linguistic resurrection, Carving The Causeway To The Otherworld compels a celestial reckoning where fate itself is flung upon the altar. Like gods that ride the firmament, COSCRADH’s cold, cruel radiance falls upon all who hear it.
The record is a cosmic execution, binding together the bygone causeways, war gods, stone idols, and star-born forces that the druids sought to harness. A vision of the night sky as a living battlement of omens, for those who would hark to the old wrathful spirits.

The cover art was handled by Stefan Todorović of Khaos Diktator Design, the layout handled by Chimère Noire Design, and photography was handled by Dylan Ownes Photography. Additionally, guest Michał “The Fall” Stępień provided ambient samples on several tracks.
COSCRADH’s savage and mystical black death metal is prime listening for fans of Teitanblood, Angelcorpse, Immortal, Absu, Black Curse, Mayhem, Beherit, Katharsis, and Cultes Des Ghoules.
With the lead single from the album, “Caesar’s Revelation (Hibernia L. VI V. XIV ad XVI et XXIV),” the band declares, “No civilisation, no Roman decorum, they’re the emperors of nothing! Hibernia.”

SCHATTENMANN usher in the new year with the release of “Endgegner”, the title track from their upcoming studio album. The song signals a decisive next step for the band and sets the tone for a new chapter in their musical journey.
With “Endgegner” [German for “Final Boss”], SCHATTENMANN present themselves sharper and more focused than ever. The track blends German-language metal with pronounced core elements, driven rhythms, and an unapologetic attitude. Crushing riffs, a powerful groove, and a commanding chorus turn the song into a statement piece that reflects both intensity and confidence.
As frontman Frank Herzig reveals: “This song was my ultimate final boss! Never before has a track driven me so crazy, challenged me so much, and demanded so much from me. In the entire history of Schattenmann, there hasn’t been a song that required so many versions and attempts. In the end, I am incredibly proud of it, especially because the path to the finished song was so rocky and because it offers so much both musically and lyrically. It grabs you immediately and doesn’t let go until the very end: hard, loud, emotional.”
Endgegner Track-List: 1. Endgegner 2. Besser als der Rest 3. Kamikaze 4. Einen Scheiß muss ich 5. Wir sind das Ende der Welt 6. Kein Kommando 7. Schna-na-naps 8. Unmensch 9. Echo 10. Auf die Zunge (Schattenmann Version) 11. Alter Ego 12. Gelegenheit macht Liebe

EXHUMED will hit the blood-soaked road with their new album, Red Asphalt, set for release on February 20th via Relapse Records.
The masters of gore metal rev up and prepare for one of 2026’s most frenetic, unhinged slabs of sonic obliteration with a new video for lead single, “Unsafe At Any Speed.”
“We’re very stoked to be back in your earholes with Red Asphalt. Our recent albums have taken you with us through the graveyards and operating theaters of 19th century Scotland, the horror aisles of the video rental stores of our youths, and through the band’s history itself,” notes EXHUMEDmastermindMatt Harvey. “This time around, we’re inviting you to accompany us to a place that we spend a disproportionate amount of our lives, someplace familiar yet far more dangerous than it feels, a place that can take you to the hospital or the grave in more ways than you can imagine: the American roadway.”

Preorder Red Asphalt on LP/CD/CS/streaming via Relapse.com HERE.
The latest wrong turn from the driving force of gore metal, EXHUMED, Red Asphalt crashes the band’s hook-laden, high-speed deathgrind into whiplash-inducing grooves and dangerous musical curves. Red Asphalt is a love letter to the road – horrific accidents, vehicular homicide, defective cars, gore-filled instructional videos, zombified biker gangs, and more.
True to the band’s spirit, Red Asphalt drags the listener through a whirlwind of riffy madness. Tracks like the aptly titled “Unsafe At Any Speed,” the horrifying “Shovelhead,” and “The Iron Graveyard” ooze with sleaze and groove while retaining all of the high-octane, full-throttle, white-knuckle madness you’ve come to demand from EXHUMED. Take the album for a spin and get your kicks on Route 666!

Birthed in the wet grounds and grey skies of the Pacific Northwest, OLD MOON aims to bring a unique new band to tell the tales of life’s sorrows.
Depression, grief, loss of self and death are the keys that stitch these heart-aching lyrics together. Accompanied to feed the image, a beautiful orchestra fills the air, meeting a breath of guitar melodies entangling melodic death and post black metal together in solidarity. Binding a tense and resonating sound that strikes the mind and embraces the heart, this is OLD MOON.
Today, the band launches the second single and video from their forthcoming album. Listen to “A Rest To My Name” on all streaming/download platforms or watch the lyric video HERE: https://youtu.be/Rb99B9_IHhw?si=5oBIPSJoMXYMCix1
Darker, doomier and overall more ominous the track highlights the depth and maturity of the band’s composition and vision as a nice contrast to the more hostile and straightforward first single, “Obsidian.”
“A Rest To My Name’ is a song with two meanings. For years I’ve wanted to write something around the concept of the ‘three deaths,” explains Michael Priest. “After this song was written it managed to just fit. More so with the ‘final death,’ the last time someone’s name is spoken. ‘A Rest to My Name’ is derived more from the prospective of the person that is already gone and embarks through a journey of never wanting to be forgotten to acceptance; leading to a conclusion that says ‘forget my name and let me rest.”
“A Rest To My Name” and “Obsidian” both come from the group’s forthcoming full-length debut, ‘Home To Nowhere’ out May 8thon CD, limited-edition (300) smoke colored vinyl and digital. Pre-Order now at www.m-theoryaudio.com/store or https://oldmoonmusic.bandcamp.com
The Portland-based outfit, founded by Michael Priest (Gone In April, Idolatrous, ex-Boudica), self-released a 3-song EP in 2024. That EP left an impression on M-Theory Audio label founder Marco Barbieri who recognized the vision and potential of OLD MOON, keeping tabs as the group built and solidified itself with a full lineup, live shows and the eventual recording of a full album that secured a release with the label.

OVERTOUN have unveiled “Yūrei”, the second single taken from their upcoming third full-length album Death Drive Anthropology, due out on February 13th, 2026 via Time To Kill Records.
Musically, “Yūrei” sharpens the band’s death–thrash core with an unsettling melodic tension, where tightly wound riffs, dynamic rhythmic shifts, and subtle Latin and folk-inflected nuances converge into a focused and oppressive atmosphere.
“Inspired by Japanese folklore, the title refers to the yūrei , spirits trapped between worlds, a reflection of humanity’s eternal struggle with the shadow of death. This song also embodies our deepening bond with Japan, a connection that grew even stronger during our 2025 tour. This is another step into the ritual”.
On Death Drive AnthropologyOVERTOUN expand their fierce Chilean/American identity, channelling the death drive (Thanatos) into a relentless exploration of human rituals, mortality, and cultural collapse – a true Book of Death forged in sound.
Rooted in the primal force of ’90s death–thrash yet sharpened by a modern, incisive edge, the album fuses Latin rhythms, folk-tinged guitars, and razor-tight riffs, featuring standout guest performances by Max Phelps (CYNIC, DEATH TO ALL), Enrico H. Di Lorenzo (HIDEOUS DIVINITY) and Shantanu Vyas (HAZING OVER).
Track-list:
01. What Unites All (feat. Max Phelps) 02. The Final Beat 03. Memento Mori (feat. Enrico H. Di Lorenzo) 04. Dur Khrod 05. Jade, Gold, Obsidian 06. Yūrei 07. Weeping 08. Wind And Water (feat. Shantanu Vyas) 09. The Waves Suite: Siren 10. The Waves Suite: Ocean 11. The Waves Suite: Caleuche 12. Death Drive Anthropology
Produced by acclaimed Argentinian mastermind Martín Furia (DESTRUCTION, BARK), Death Drive Anthropology further cements OVERTOUN as one of the most compelling and forward-thinking forces emerging from the Latin American metal landscape.
OVERTOUN is a death-thrash metal band based between Santiago, Chile, and Boston, MA, fusing the rich musical heritage of Latin America with the complexity and aggression of technical death metal. Founded by Agustín Lobo and Matías Bahamondes, the band solidified its lineup with Yoav Ruiz-Feingold (Atheist, Graviton) on vocals and Matías Salas on bass.
Baltimore (MD) – One-man Melodic Doom Metal outfit, Orchid Throne, ring in the new year with the official video for “Ephemerality,” the third single from forthcoming debut full-length, Buried in Black.
“Ephemerality” is also available on the usual streaming platforms, including Bandcamp, Spotify, and Apple Music.
Orchid Throne is set to release Buried in Black on January 9, 2026! The project consists solely of Nicholas Bonsanto (Lör,Empress, Helianthus, Barren) who wrote and performs the music, as well as producing, mixing and mastering the album.
After nearly 17 years of playing supporting roles in various bands, Nicholas Bonsanto (Lör, Empress, Helianthus, Barren) is proud to make his debut as a solo artist as the man behind Orchid Throne.
While not a concept album, Buried in Black weaves themes of anxiety, depression, fear of death, and the search for life’s meaning throughout its lyrics. The title describes both the music itself and the feelings that Bonsanto has kept buried within for years. It may sound bleak, but what is buried in black will be set free and brought to light on January 9th.
“This album is a long time coming for me,” said Bonsanto. “For more than a decade, I collected little recordings of ideas in the hope that one day they’d be useful. I could not be more proud of myself for how the album came out and for all of the things I have learned along the way.”
Maltese death metallers BOUND TO PREVAIL have unveiled the title track from their upcoming debut full-length album, “Enthroned in Torment”, now available as a new single. The song offers a further insight into the band’s approach, built on compact, forceful riffing and a dynamic balance between aggression and structure. Enthroned in Torment is set for release on January 7th, 2026 via Lethal Scissor Records.
The record is a powerful rediscovery and reinterpretation of the early 2000s death metal vein, blending old-school brutality with a modern edge. Drawing on the technical ferocity of old masters like Suffocation and Monstrosity, as well as the more extreme, yet precise, pummeling approaches of Beheaded, Hour of Penance and Inveracity, the album delivers tracks that are simultaneously tense, technical and fluid, giving every riff room to breathe and strike with maximum impact.
Enthroned in Torment fuses the relentless aggression of classic death metal with contemporary clarity and production, creating a sound that honors the past while feeling undeniably current. Crushing drumming, thunderous bass, and razor-sharp guitars intertwine with menacing vocals to forge an unrelenting wall of sound. The album explores the morbid tension between malevolence and benevolence, set in a chaotic realm shaped by false beliefs and deceitful ambitions.
Track list:
01. The Nevergod 02. Into the Depths 03. Defier of Empires 04. Consecrated Perdition 05. Atone in Blasphemy 06. Dawn of Emptiness 07. Tomb of the Graveless 08. Enthroned in Torment
With this debut, BOUND TO PREVAIL stake their claim in European death metal, offering a masterful balance of old-school intensity and modern precision that will captivate fans of both eras.
Album line-up:
Keith Fenech – guitars Kevin Mifsud – bass Alan Briffa – vocals Jean Vella – guitars Mark Farrugia Sant’Angelo – drums
Current band line-up:

It took nearly 10 years since THE HOLEUM’s last album Sublime Emptiness and now the Spanish progressive post-doom band is back with their third album Ensis, which is set to be released on March 20th, 2026.
And to end the year right with some cosmic tunes, THE HOLEUM is known for, we present the first single The Fermi Paradox of the forthcoming new effort.
Baptized with a name derived from astrophysical theories about dark matter and black holes, THE HOLEUM was formed in 2014 in Alicante, Spain. Founded by former members of NahemaH, Demised, quantumXperience, Hela, Neptunian Sun, and Priest of Dawn, the quintet set out to push the boundaries of heavy music and to intensify the emotional impact of darkness in sound. Their concept is both cosmic and sonic: “THE HOLEUM is related to the dark matter that forms the black holes in the universe. THE HOLEUM is not a black hole, but black holes are formed by The Holeum. That is the idea from which we extract our concept – we are a sonic and cosmic vision of the sublime.”
With their third album Ensis (2025), the band continues its journey through experimental metal, death doom, melodic metal, and post-metal. This work is more than a continuation; it is a condensation and expansion of their previous soundscape. Ensis reveals itself as finely nuanced, challenging, yet at the same time profoundly sensitive and multifaceted. The songs unfold like cosmic landscapes where heaviness and melancholy meet subtle emotionality.
The intensity remains palpable, but it is complemented by a deeper sensitivity that draws the listener into a fragile balance between harshness and delicacy. Ensis is an album that demands and touches at once, a work that makes the complexity of human existence audible in the mirror of the universe.
