“‘No Sins To Confess’ rocks without ballads and if I did not know better, I would have thought the album was an unknown gem from 1988!” HARDLINE MAGAZINE

You want it true, heavy and loud? You love the 80s and you would die for pure fuckin’ Heavy Metal? Then LÖANSHARK is your band! You will find everything your metal heart is beating for within their traditional sound, that takes no prisoners!

The Barcelona-based heavy metal trio unleashes their scorching, first full-length studio album No Sins To Confess! Out today via ROARNo Sins To Confess is now available at this location: https://loanshark.rpm.link/nosinspr

Everything about LÖANSHARK is old-school and like a flashback into the early 80s metal scene. “This is what we feel and what we are, so it’s kinda impossible for us to not sound old-school, because it is in our DNA”,bassist Aless recently said. You will find that spirit within their sound, artwork, their logo or their look.

“For the cover artwork, we wanted that 80’s movie atmosphere, something eye catchy, dangerous, exciting and sexy! So we have choosen a smoky alley as the setting, long and sexy female legs, that hide a lethal weapon behind them, and there we are, about to die at the hands of this hitwoman who already has “another man in the trunk”. We want to maintain that “mafia” atmosphere in our work, we want it to be our identifying seal, in accordance with the name we chose for the band.”

LÖANSHARK;
Lögan Heads – Guitar, Vocals
Aless Oppossed – Bass
Angel Smolski – Drums

LÖANSHARK was founded as a power-trio in 2017, in the heart of Barcelona and is currently taking the scene by storm as an uprising star on the NWOTHM heaven, just alongside Spanish fellow acts such as HITTEN, SAVAGED, WITCHTOWER or IRON CURTAIN. Following their 2018 debut EP “The Warning Session” and two singles – including their Underground hit “Fast, Heavy, Loud’N Proud” – which were all featured on the “The Gangland Tapes” CD in 2021. Now, LÖANSHARK has finally released their long-awaited No Sins To Confess

Order No Sins To Confess here:  https://loanshark.rpm.link/nosinspr

The album also features re-recorded, early tracks “Machine Gunner” and “Heavy Metal Addicts” as well as a cover version of NWOBHM cult band MARSEILLE and their track “Open Fire”. In the end you will get ten exciting tracks of a young band, that is obviously on fire.

“I think we managed to sound fresh within the genre”, summarises Aless. “Obviously we play traditional heavy metal and that aura is going to reach you when you hear it, but at the same time we try to ensure that no riff reminds you explicitly of any other song. Another virtue we have is, that we are what you hear on the album. We try not to be pretentious with the production and when you see us live you will get a very similar experience. People are usually surprised by our live sound, created by just three crazy people.

AS THE WORLD DIES – Unleashes “Under A Dying Sky” Video/Single | Nebula Full-Length Nears Release Via Reaper Entertainment

Posted in Death Metal, death metal bands, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , on February 15, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Under A Dying Sky” is the latest single from British death metal collective, AS THE WORLD DIES. The track comes by way of the band’s upcoming second studio album, Nebula, set for release on March 21st via Reaper Entertainment.

Following the success of their previous single “Dark Oblivion,” “Under A Dying Sky” continues to showcase AS THE WORLD DIES’ signature fusion of heavy, melodic riffs and apocalyptic storytelling. The track is a brutal yet thought-provoking journey, blending relentless death metal aggression with atmospheric synths and progressive elements.

Band leader Scott Fairfax (Memoriam, ex-Massacre) comments, “‘Under A Dying Sky’ is a defining moment for us. It captures the essence of what AS THE WORLD DIES is all about – an intense, cinematic experience wrapped in brutal, crushing death metal. We wanted to push the limits even further, and this track is just a taste of what’s coming with Nebula.”

Nebula will be available on CD, vinyl, and digital formats. Find preorders at THIS LOCATION.

AS THE WORLD DIES is a relentless force in the UK death metal scene, spearheaded by guitarist and songwriter Scott Fairfax. Known for his work with Memoriam, Massacre, and Benediction, Fairfax brings decades of experience to the table, crafting an unparalleled blend of crushing riffs, symphonic darkness, and cosmic devastation.

Nebula is a gripping journey through the realms of crushing death metal and cosmic mysticism. Fairfax explains, “This album is the quintessence of what AS THE WORLD DIES is all about. We pushed our musical boundaries to create something both brutal and thought-provoking. It’s heavier, darker, and more profound than anything we’ve done before.”

The album dives into themes of apocalyptic prophesies and human insignificance, epitomized by the looming presence of the asteroid Apophis, a key inspiration behind the band’s cosmic death metal sound. Adding a progressive touch with atmospheric ‘80s synths and a haunting industrial edge, Nebula expands the boundaries of the genre while maintaining its relentless death metal core.

Following a year of mounting anticipation, Californian metal legends BLEEDING THROUGH have released their massively anticipated 9th album, NINE, today via SharpTone Records

Over 2 decades ago, BLEEDING THROUGH burst on the scene setting a brutal new benchmark for the genre. Now, the influential band returns with yet another career defining record, NINE. Featuring raging tracks like ‘Path of Our Disease,’ ‘Our Brand Is Chaos,’ ‘Dead But So Alive,’ ‘I Am Resistance‘ (Feat. Andrew Neufeld of COMEBACK KID) and newly released standout track ‘War Time‘ (Feat. Brian Fair of SHADOWS FALL), the band’s first record in 7 years is replete with blistering heavy riffs, neck-snapping rhythm and venomous dueling vocals with messages of hope and unity in times of despair.

Commenting on the new record, vocalist Brandan Schieppati says:

“Nine is a statement of pride through these songs. We poured 25 years of passion, aggression and emotion into this record. This record is dark, raw and purely Bleeding Through.”

About BLEEDING THROUGH

After 25 years, eight albums, and countless gigs, Bleeding Through persist as a tried-and-true outlier in heavy music and culture.

The Southern California stalwarts wield an enigmatic and unmistakable signature sound born at the crossroads of no-holds-barred hardcore, cutthroat thrash, and cinematic black metal. Mastering a drastic push-and-pull, they have always occupied their own elevated realm in the extreme space, exhibiting a rare ability to not only incite a moshpit, but also invite complete immersion. It’s why they’ve endured changing tides and trends and stood strong as a force of nature with consistent critical acclaim and packed shows.

However, the six-piece of Brandan Schieppati [vocals], Derek Youngsma [drums], John Arnold [guitar], Ryan Wombacher [bass], Marta Peterson [keys, vocals], and Brandon Richter [guitar], assuredly perfect this vision in 2025 on their aptly titled ninth full-length offering, NINE [Sharptone Records].

“We knew we wanted to make a really dark record,” says Brandan. “For as raw as the feeling is, we were also very deliberate in terms of the orchestration. It’s definitely a balance. We put everything into NINE. I remember saying, ‘This needs to be the most true representation of what Bleeding Through is’. I think we achieved that.”

Bleeding Through bulldozed their way out of Orange County just before the turn-of-the-century. Following Dust To Ashes [2001] and Portrait of the Goddess [2002], they delivered a classic in the form of This Is Love, This Is Murderous [2003], which Revolver retrospectively christened it a “quintessential piece of 2000s metal.” They picked up the pace with The Truth, bowing at #1 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums Chart.

The band expanded their catalog with Declaration [2008], Bleeding Through [2010], The Great Fire [2012], and Love Will Kill All [2018]. In a “4-out-of-5 star review” of the latter, Metal Hammer attested, “This is an impressive comeback that’s tight, hungry and wired with the kind of energy younger bands can only sniff at. Over the years, they notably toured with everyone from Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Disturbed, and Machine Head to Darkest Hour, Hatebreed, and Parkway Drive in addition to appearing on both OZZfest and Warped Tour

“The first single, “Halo of Bones,” was the first song written for the album”. Guitarist Maciej Nieścioruk notes that “it was composed shortly after the release of 2021’s The Grand Scheme of Things” and “features the outstanding work of Chason Westmoreland who played drums on the whole album.” Nieścioruk goes on to say that “Halo of Bones” “is straightforward and to the point. Enjoy the first taste of Tooth and Nail.”

“We worked hard to make this fourth album happen,” says guitarist Maciej Nieścioruk. “JNS Studio once again did a great job tuning in to our suggestions, while having the support of Willowtip gave us freedom to focus on creativity without being distracted. Stick around and have a listen once it’s released, might be just what you’re looking for.”

Dormant Ordeal was formed in 2008. Their debut album It Rains, It Pours (2013), showcased the aggressive and energetic sound, while We Had It Coming (2016) refined their songwriting with thought-out structures and darker textures. Released in 2021, The Grand Scheme of Things was critically acclaimed for blending brutal precision with blackened influences and a thought-provoking lyrical approach. Over the years, known for their intense and atmospheric approach to the genre, the band has established itself as an impactful entity in the modern death metal scene.

LORDI – Unveil Horror Movie-Like Single & Music Video “Hellizabeth”

Posted in Heavy Metal, horror, horror metal, Metal, metal albums, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , on February 14, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Iconic Finnish hard rock monster squad LORDI live up to their name and present a frightening music video for their latest single “Hellizabeth” today. The track can also be found on LORDI’s upcoming 19th studio album Limited Deadition, which will be released on March 21, 2025 via RPM.

Starring a ghost hunting duo searching for the obviously invisible main protagonist of the song, the new video guides fans into an abandoned, outlying house. The two explorers keep finding little hits of her haunting majesty – with a little surprise testing every watcher’s sturdiness – but never come to any proper result to prove her existence – to just end up being caught by Hellizabeth napping in the end. A cruel deed continuing her still unsolved mystery! Are YOU able to survive LORDI’s witching hour…?

L-R:
Kone (guitars), Hiisi (bass), Mr Lordi (vocals), Mana (drums), Hella (keyboard)

Mr Lordi explains“Hellizabeth is another typical LORDI song, both lyrically and musically. It’s styled in the vein of a horror film storyboard about a woman’s ghost house haunting experience. Musically, I think the main WOW moment is the weirdly progressive beginning of the song. It stems from childhood memories of trying to learn to play an instrument. It’s actually just the vocal melody of the verse being played in the style of a nine year-old, with the whole band playing the same thing in unison and nothing in between. That’s how at least my brain worked with music as a kid, before I realized ‘Oh, the vocal melody is different and the stuff in the background is supposed to give it harmony and chorus!

Known for their theatrical style and unique blend of 80s-inspired rock and heavy metal, LORDI’s latest creation is a nostalgic celebration of retro 80s toys, infused with a fresh and powerful energy. Building on the success of their 2023 album Screem Writers Guild, Limited Deadition ventures into heavier riffs and faster tempos, creating a soundscape that is both familiar and invigorating.

True to their musical identity, the band continues to explore the allure of ancient Rome, weaving tales of battles, sacrifices, and glory into a powerful and immersive narrative.

“Supplicium” represents a perfect balance between tradition and modernity. On one hand, the lyrical concept and epic atmospheres transport the listener to the age of the Roman Empire, evoking visions of triumphant marches and blood-soaked arenas. On the other hand, the sound becomes increasingly technical and refined, with tight riffs, relentless rhythmic sections, and flawless production that enhances every detail.

The album, crafted with meticulous care, succeeds in combining the brutality of death metal with highly complex instrumental passages, showcasing a band in constant evolution.

With “Supplicium”ADE reaffirm their role as champions of a death metal where historical tradition and modern sound coexist, creating an experience that is both ferocious and captivating.

ADE is an Italian death metal band forged in 2008. Right from the start, the band chose Ancient Rome as the focus of its themes and main source of inspiration: visually, musically and lyrically. The inclusion of traditional melodies and folk instruments gives the band’s technical death metal a strong epic character.

ADE have released four full-length albums so far: “Prooemium Sanguine” (2010), “Spartacus” (2013, featuring George Kollias as guest drummer), “Carthago delenda est” (2016) and “Rise of the Empire” (2019).

SONUM – Italian Death Metal Visionaries Announce Sophomore Album: The Obscure Light Awaits

Posted in Death Metal, death metal bands, Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , on February 10, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Dusktone is proud to announce the forthcoming release of The Obscure Light Awaits, the second full-length album by Italian death metal visionaries SONUM.

Mark your calendars for 11th April 2025, as the band returns to the forefront of death metal with a record that masterfully balances abstraction and ferocity.

The new single, the album’s title track “The Obscure Light Awaits”, is now premiering via the mighty Mystification Zine HERE.

Following the critical acclaim of their debut, Visceral Void Entropy (2022), SONUM delve deeper into the labyrinthine realms of dissonance and atmosphere. “The Obscure Light Awaits” is an ambitious work that simultaneously pushes boundaries and honours the roots of the genre.

The album eschews unnecessary complexity in favour of a tight focus on songwriting, weaving together intricate, sibylline passages with a raw, unrelenting power that shows the influence of the pioneering works of old and contemporary death metal legends such as Gorguts, Morbid Angel, Execration and Artificial Brain.

A true testament to SONUM’s evolution, The Obscure Light Awaits presents a sonic journey defined by dark, otherworldly textures and relentless energy. The band’s ability to merge atmospheric depth with crushing riffs showcases their commitment to creating music that is both immersive and uncompromising. It’s an exploration of contrasts – between the abstract and the visceral, the chaotic and the structured.

Fans of progressive and atmospheric death metal will find The Obscure Light Awaits to be a landmark release that stands tall amidst this year’s most formidable works.

Stay tuned for more singles and further announcements as we approach the release date.

SUDDEN DEATH – Italian Death Metallers Sign to Time To Kill Records

Posted in Death Metal, death metal bands, Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , on February 10, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

Italian death metallers SUDDEN DEATH have signed to Time To Kill Records for the release of their fourth album, In Sinner Hate.

Their most blisteringly furious, ambitious, and eclectic record to date, In Sinner Hate delivers eleven tracks of brutal death metal mixed with elements of old-school heaviness.

The album was mixed and mastered by Stefano “Saul” Morabito (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour Of Penance, Hideous Divinity), with additional recordings by Marco “Cinghio” Mastrobuono (Hour Of Penance, Shores Of Null) and Giuseppe Orlando (Novembre, Stormlord).

Watch for more details on the new album release, new tour updates, and more news on other upcoming SUDDEN DEATH activities to be posted shortly.

Formed in 1997, SUDDEN DEATH are a death metal band hailing from Genzano (Rome). The band’s sound, initially inspired by the rawest old school death-thrash metal waves, slowly and progressively developed into a more brutal style, influenced by Cannibal Corpse and early Deicide. Nowadays the band set forth on a masterclass in technical and claustrophobic death metal with dense and intertwining guitars, sudden tempo and metric changes and more consistent and exasperated vocal parts.

So far the band has released three albums – Devoured Inside (self-produced) in 2001, Injection of Hate (Deadbang Records) in 2004, and Monolith of Sorrow (Killerpool Records) in 2015 – and the EP Stillborn (Art Gates Records) in 2018.

SUDDEN DEATH have played several shows throughout the Italian peninsula and around Europe, sharing the stage with important acts such as Suffocation, Gorgoroth, Vader, Napalm Death, Exodus, Dark Tranquility, Possessed, Pestilence and many others.

Line-up:
Luis Maggio – Vocals
Giorgio “Giorgioni” Cifuni – Guitar
Francesca Mancini – Guitar
Giuseppe Ciurleo – Bass
Emanuele Aleo – Drums

The new album from Boston progressive death unit PATHOGENIC is out now on Skepsis RecordingsCrowned In Corpses marks the band’s first full-length release in over half a decade, promising a bold evolution of their signature brand of progressive tech death, while retaining the intensity that has defined the band for years.

Watch the official music videos for the album’s title track and “Mass Grave Memory” on PATHOGENIC’s YouTube channel.

In support of the album, PATHOGENIC will hit the road with technical metal band Leylines (members of Through the Eyes of the Dead and ex-The Contortionist). The tour kicks off March 1 in Nashville. Dates are as follows:

3/1 – DRKMTTR – Nashville, TN
3/2 – Culture Shock – Atlanta, GA
3/3 – The Milestone – Charlotte, NC

3/5 – The Metro – Baltimore, MD
3/6 – The Nail – Ardmore, PA
3/7 – The Woodshop – Brooklyn, NY
3/8 – The Middle East, Upstairs – Boston, MA

In 2022, the band’s resurgence was ignited when original vocalist Jake Burns and new drummer Tyler Montaquila joined forces with guitarists Chris Gardino, Justin Licht, and bassist Dan Leahy. Together, they’ve forged a sound that is ferocious, intricate, and unapologetically heavy, delivering metal that demands to be heard.

Crowned in Corpses was produced by Raymond Marte (Moon Tooth), Anthony Lopardo (Loss Becomes), and ourselves. Raymond Marte mixed and mastered the record. “Crowned in Corpses” music video was shot by Nick Court of Killing It Entertainment.

Out of Boston’s depths emerges PATHOGENIC, a force unshackled from hiatus and reborn with Crowned In Corpses. Over 42 punishing minutes, this progressive death metal quintet weaves together labyrinthine riffs, relentless rhythms, and chilling visions of a decaying world.

CREMATORY – Releases Music Video For Title Track Of Upcoming New Studio Album: Destination

Posted in gothic metal, Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , on February 8, 2025 by Metal Odyssey

In the more than three decades of their existence, CREMATORY have seen trends come and go, while always staying true to their trademarks, they belong to one of Germany’s most distinctive gothic metal pioneers to date. Following their latest studio offering, Inglorious Darkness (2022), now, CREMATORY returns with a brand new single entitled “Destination”, the title track of the band’s forthcoming album that is slated for a release on May 2nd via ROAR!

It’s a really tough song, but at the same time it has a catchy chorus that drills itself straight into the ear canal and won’t let go,” the band comments“This song will also be the opener on the tour in May for the Destination album. A big punch in the face with a great chorus!”

“Destination” is now streaming on all digital services at: https://crematory.rpm.link/destinsinglePR

CREMATORY:
Felix Stass – Vocals
Rolf Munkes – Gitarre
Oliver Revilo – Bass
Katrin Jüllich – Keyboards, Samples
Markus Jüllich – Drums, Programming

With their 17th studio album, CREMATORY promises to reach new and even higher levels than ever before! Literally combining all the strengths and phases of the gothic metal pioneers, going back to their melodic death metal roots in places, diving deep into the gothic realm again but also surprising listeners, “Destination” will mark a triumphant return to the past combined with the strengths of the present.

The new studio album Destination is an ingenious mix of the 90s gothic metal times like Illusions, combined with hard melodic death metal hymns like “Act Seven” and modern electronic songs with German lyrics in the style of Revolution. More is not possible“, drummer Markus Jüllich recently said and added: ”With Destination the new standard of the modern melodic gothic metal era is determined! The previous album Inglorious Darkness was the start of Felix singing all the songs on his own again and now we’ve managed a perfect precision landing with Destination!”

With many more album details to be unveiled in the weeks ahead, one thing is already clear: CREMATORY are highly motivated, are upping the ante and definitely still have a lot to say even after 34 years of a successful band history!

Watch the “Coming Of The Scorpion” HERE

SACROSANCT, established in 1988, are a well respected name in the metal scene, most known for their three classic albums during the early 1990s: Truth is – what is, Recesses for the depraved and Tragic intense. The band’s signature sound gradually progressed from sophisticated thrash metal to a more edgy, melodic and atmospheric aural landscape.

SACROSANCT:
Max Morton – Vocals, Bass
Randy Meinhard – Guitar
Gerrit Knol – Guitar
Jonas Schütz – Drums

The brainchild of founding member and lead guitar player Randy Meinhard (ex-Pestilence) returned in 2018, after a 25-year hiatus, with their fourth album “Necropolis”, which was highly acclaimed and bears all of the hallmarks and intricacies that defines SACROSANCT, with a strong emphasis on melancholic melodies and harmony guitar parts, as well as a focus on thought-provoking lyrics.

Six years later, SACROSANCT return with the even more powerful, still complex and catchy Kidron introducing their new singer Max Morton, who outshines the album with his clear, dynamic and unique voice. “The album combines all our trademarks, has a unique atmosphere due to all the circumstances we had to go through and is accessible and complex at the same time”, Randy Meinhard recently said.

The special thing about SACROSANCT is, that every album sounds different. As the four-piece recently revealed: “We always write and play songs in our own way. We can’t and won’t deny our roots. Of course, our first albums were more thrash-heavy, but there was a lot more going on in the songs. You just can’t reduce us to that. I personally love metal from Maiden to Priest to Fates Warning, VoiVod or Slayer. When writing songs, I try to find out how heavy or commercial a song can be in our own way. But we always want to touch people with the music and if, for example, a blastbeat can be combined with the classic Sacrosanct riff trademarks, then we have arrived at KIDRON.”
