Camping & Extreme Music In Alberta’s Badlands – August 4th – 6th, 2023

Alberta, Canada’s LOUD AS HELL is ready to unveil its most stacked lineup to date with its 2023 edition featuring JUNGLE ROT, NARCOTIC WASTELAND, INCITE, NECRONOMICON, THE CONVALESCENCE, ARRIVAL OF AUTUMN and lots more (full lineup listed below).

Being held from August 4th to 6th at the Dinosaur Downs Stampede Grounds in Drumheller, AB, this year’s festivities see the return of American and Mexican bands joining the lineup along with artists from across Canada performing for the three-day open-air event.

Highlights for this year’s lineup witness the return of groovy death metal AmericansJUNGLE ROT to Canadian soil to headline the closing night on August 6th in support of their latest album “A Call to Arms” released last year on Unique Leader Records.

Toledo, OH’s THE CONVALESCENCE is one of the USA’s unstoppable tour de force, touring Europe in 2022 with Chelsea Grin, and Carnifex plus an upcoming tour in Japan in 2023 with Exhumed and Defiled along with their latest single “No Survivors” ft. Scott Ian Lewis of Carnifex that has fans demanding more and more.

North Carolina’s Narcotic Wasteland’s (founded by ex-Nile guitarist Dallas Toler-Wade) festival appearance comes as part of the band’s first cross-Canada tour as they will be supporting their forthcoming third studio album in 2023 on Mega Force Records.

Phoenix, AZ’s INCITE, now close to 20 years into a career where everything was earned and nothing was taken for granted, the band bridges the gap between multiple crowds across various metal sub-genres. As renegade disciples of trailblazing architects like Pantera, Slayer, Sepultura, and Machine Head, INCITE raise the torch for trend-killing and hipster-smashing metal. The band’s fifth album, Built to Destroy released in 2019 (Minus Head Records), is a visceral, urgent, voracious distillation of modern metal, with reverence for the past, produced by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence) and mastered by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed).

One of Canada’s longest-running blackened death metal bands hailing from Montreal, Quebec, NECRONOMICON‘s career spans over 30 years since it was first formed in 1988 by founding guitarist and singer Rob “The Witch” in the deep, northern part of Quebec’s Fjord of Saguenay. Since then, the band has carefully released each full-length without haste, allowing them to perfect every nuance before unleashing their sonic assaults upon the masses.

Canadian metalcore titans, ARRIVAL OF AUTUMN, hailing from Grande Prairie, AB, are LOUD AS HELL alumni and return to co-headline opening night on August 4th in support of their new album “Kingdom Undone” being released on Nuclear Blast this coming May.

FUGITIVE – 20 Buck Spin To Officially Release ‘Maniac’ EP From Texas Thrash Band Formed By Power Trip Guitarist; Physical Preorders Posted

Posted in Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , , , on March 15, 2023 by Metal Odyssey

Blake Ibanez of Power Trip returns with a new band, FUGITIVE, and their Maniac debut EP – his first output since the untimely passing of legendary Power Trip vocalist Riley Gale – delivering the aggressive pit detonation thrash he’s known for in Power Trip with an even rawer and looser ferocity.

Joined by Seth Gilmore (Skourge), Lincoln Mullins (Creeping Death), Victor Gutierrez, and Andy Messer, Ibanez and crew cohere in intensely violent crossover fashion with FUGITIVE; a product of long earned experience in the studio and on the stage. A savage death metal vocal style, like Power Trip passed through an Obituary meatgrinder, solidifies Maniac with the heaviness of a head hitting concrete. A short, sharp, shock of an EP, Maniac is a fierce introduction across its seventeen-minute runtime to a future that FUGITIVE is just beginning to write and a reminder that Texas heat remains a steadily potent force in underground metal and hardcore. The record features four original tracks, with a cover of the legendary Bathory’s “Raise The Dead” rounding out the succinctly serrated five-track debut.

Maniac was produced by Blake Ibanez, was engineered and mixed by Rubio N. with the drums engineered by Drew LeClair and additional drum production by Slade Williams, and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air. The cover art was handled by Jack Bruce with additional art assistance by Erick Cruz, the logo by Daniel Porta, and photography by Will Mecca and Sydney Lane. This is a must-hear release for fans of Power Trip, Enforced, Obituary, Iron Age, and Creeping Death.

Stream FUGITIVE’s Maniac EP now at Bandcamp HERE.

Following its surprise digital release and subsequent cassette release last year, 20 Buck Spin now presents Maniac on 12” vinyl and MCD, set for worldwide release on April 28th. Find preorders HERE.

ManiacTrack Listing:

  1. The Javelin
  2. Maniac

Formed in 2016 by guitarist Tyler Harper and drummer Jeremy Randazzo, the initial idea for CAPRA was to create something that would be fresh while still giving listeners a sense of nostalgia for the sounds of the late ’90s and early 2000s hardcore and punk scenes. Following various lineup changes, and adding Crow Lotus (vocals) and Trevor Alleman (bass) to their ranks, everything came together.

The band’s most recent full-length, In Transmission (2021) — recorded with Jai Benoit (Golgothan, Father Rust), then mixed by Taylor Young (Nails, Twitching Tongues), and mastered by Brad Boatwright (Pig Destroyer, Integrity, Torche, Idle Hands) — represents the culmination of years of hard work, reflecting everything they’ve been writing and pouring into the band since solidifying the lineup.

The band is currently putting the finishing touches on new material with details to be unveiled in the weeks to come. In the meantime, preview and purchase In Transmission at THIS LOCATION.

MNRVA Release Video For “Not The One”

Posted in doom metal, Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, music videos, news with tags , , , , , , , , , , on March 11, 2023 by Metal Odyssey

Doom metal band MNRVA have released a video for their song “Not the One”. The track is taken from their album Hollow which came out last year via Black Doomba Records. A vinyl version is set to be released on April 7th, 2023 with pre-orders starting on March 17th, 2023.

The band comments: ” ‘Not the One’ is a mid-tempo, sludgy track with a psychedelic intro, catchy vocal hooks, and in-the-pocket grooves. We filmed the video at Filmmaker Chris Bickel’s compound on a sweltering Saturday in June. Columbia, SC’s city motto is “famously hot” and we were all pretty much at our limit, even with constant hydration and industrial fans, which set the perfect scene for a song about burning it all down. The hottest part of the day was actually well after sunset, when the director had us improvise some around-the-bonfire scenes. The fire burned so intensely hot and fast that we had to act quickly. Kevin is a natural at spontaneous invention, and dark mystery.”

Listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBok4q6hqPQ

MNRVA venture further into the descending darkness with their debut full-length, Hollow. Conjuring gloomy atmospheres with funereal doom and fuzz tones, the heavy trio are unafraid to unveil what’s lurking in the shadows.

Forming in 2018, MNRVA made their debut with the EP Black Sky giving fans a tantalising taste of their unconventional sludge fuelled doom sound. Hollow builds further on their exploration of heavy music with groove-laden riffs, mid-slow tempo tracks and vocals which range between soaring melodies and those of guttural demons . “Not the One” introduces the new album with ludicrously overdriven instruments, impactful percussion and vocals that appear to be reaching out of the abyss. The title track falls further into the gloom evoking an intense dark mood. Melodic motifs and riffs punctuate the black with an experimental twist, adding something extra to the sound without breaking the nightmarish illusion. “The Way” concludes the album with the wrath of the void, fusing the sinister and sombre.

Hollow is a melting pot of sludge drawing upon the guitar grind of MELVINS, the vocal interplay of MASTODON, and the post-doom heaviness of Wisconsin’s BEREFT. Embracing their influences while cultivating their own distinctive edge, MNRVA manipulate these dynamic musical elements to manifest an enticing atmosphere.

Line-up:
Byron Hawk – guitar, vocals
Kevin Jennings – bass, vocals
Gina Ercolini – drums

SATAN released their sixth full length album, Earth Infernal, via Metal Blade last April. Earth Infernal is a product of the times that birthed it and could only be the work of SATAN. Having churned out cutting edge heavy metal throughout the ‘80s – and reunited in 2011 – the record maintains the high standard of musicianship the band set long ago and it is perhaps their timeliest release. “For two years, the world has been preoccupied with politics and pandemics and while we were all looking the other way our planet has continued to get hotter,” said guitarist Russ Tippins upon the record’s release. “Our Earth is now infernally hot. Almost irreversibly so. We are on a one-way trip to Hell and dragging our children along with us. Yes, SATAN has something to say about global warming.” The album entered the German Charts at position #12, the highest chart entry ever for the band.

Canadian shredders STRIKER are excited to share the news that they have entered the studio to work on their seventh album with producer Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Tallah, King 810). The yet-to-be-titled album follows the band’s singles “Strange Love” (2022) and “Death Wish”(2021), which will be featured on the record that follows their Juno Award-winning self-released full-length “Play to Win” (2018) (Record Breaking). The forthcoming album will also feature the band’s latest lineup addition of long-time friend and guitarist John Simon Fallon (The Order of Chaos).

The band comments:

We have arrived at shred central in Midland, MI. We’ll be spending the next 5 weeks WITH Josh Schroeder who will essentially be our 6th band member for the creative process. We are stoked to get into the studio with HIM. We are looking to do something different sonically with this album, more extreme, more over the top, and more punishing and we think he’s the right man for the job. It’s going to be a bit of an experiment for us but we are ready to push out of our comfort zone and lay down some caveman riffs and bigger hooks. Stay tuned for more updates and don’t forget to check out our Patreon for exclusive content!”

In additional news, STRIKER is confirmed to perform this summer in Europe at Bloodstock Festival in the UK and Headbangers Open Air in Germany. Canadian fans can also check out STRIKER at this year’s Hyperspace Metal Festival in Vancouver on April 14th at The Fox Cabaret.

CEMETARY – Signs To Atomic Fire Records – New Album, ‘Come To Ruin’ To Be Released Later This Year + Limited T-Shirt Available For Preorder

Posted in Heavy Metal, Metal, metal albums, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , , , on February 28, 2023 by Metal Odyssey

Atomic Fire Records is proud to announce the signing of Swedish cult metal band CEMETARY, one of the most exciting bands of the ’90s, capable of merging death metal with gothic and doom flavors. CEMETARY‘s founding member and mastermind Mathias Lodmalm is back to remind us that true legends never die.

Lodmalm comments: “After several decades in the wilderness, CEMETARY finally arrives home at Atomic Fire Records. For better or for worse, I have always gone my own way and rolled the bones as they may. Roughly a decade ago, I started crafting a sound that came to be the upcoming album Come To Ruin. Working with a label was never a thought, quite the opposite. But when I heard the rumblings from Donzdorf, it pulled me in, and what I saw was the finest team in metal today.

“To finally be able to work with people as passionate as myself is a true blessing. I am forever grateful. Old titles will come back to life with the highest production values possible. Not only one, but two new albums are being prepared to usher in the apocalypse with a ferocity never before heard from the band. This has been a long time coming – plans are best laid. Thanks to all who patiently waited and kept CEMETARY alive by tuning into the sound.”

Preorder it now at THIS LOCATION.

Atomic Fire Records co-founder/A&R Markus Wosgien adds, “It was in 1993 when I discovered CEMETARY with their second album, Godless Beauty, which guided me into another world, similar as Tiamat (Clouds) and Paradise Lost (Shades Of God) did the year before. But CEMETARY was different, even more intense with more ‘corners and edges.’ Songs like ‘And Julie Is No More’ and ‘By My Own Hand’ stuck in my head and I can repeat every second even three decades later.

“Some months ago,” he continues, “Lake Of Tears mastermind Daniel Brennare introduced me to Mathias Lodmalm and we started to talk about the past and future. That’s why we kick off our cooperation with beautiful reissues of their ’90s albums, starting with An Evil Shade Of Grey and my all-time favorite, Godless Beauty, including individual interviews and new graphics. Mathias is also in the final steps of a brand new CEMETARY album and the demos we heard took us back to the band’s origin and breathe the mood of those first two cult records.”

Over twenty years have passed but now is the time to break the silence – a new incarnation of CEMETARY springs to life. In celebration of their return is a limited exclusive T-shirt, designed by Lodmalm himself. Featuring CEMETARY‘s logo, this collector’s item is limited to only thirty-four pieces worldwide to celebrate thirty-four years of the band’s existence!

Preorder it now at THIS LOCATION.

CEMETARY:
Mathias Lodmalm – vocals, guitars, bass
Mattias Borgh – drums

About Cemetary: Based in Borås, Sweden, Mathias Lodmalm and his comrades immediately reaped recognition unleashing a stunning debut album titled An Evil Shade Of Grey (1992), shortly followed by their Godless Beauty (1993) masterpiece and Black Vanity (1994). CEMETARY incessantly dominated the extreme metal scene releasing two more records (1996’s Sundown and 1997’s Last Confessions) and touring all over Europe.

Following the band’s split in 1997, Lodmalm released his swansong, Phantasma, in 2005. Continually active within the metal underground, he reemerged as CEMETARY 1213 to create the science fiction inspired concept album The Beast Divine, showing a much colder and harder edge than its predecessors.

Finnish-American Modern Metal Band VIOLET SIN Releases Their Debut Single

Posted in Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, music videos, news with tags , , , , , , , , on February 27, 2023 by Metal Odyssey

Photo: Violet Sin

All it takes is one 80’s influenced singer from Florida to make a melancholic Finnish metal band to sound like non-Finnish in a very haunting and beautiful way. The debut single of Violet Sin is definitely modern and metal in terms of production but at the same time the song runs through the past decades of music. There’s 00’s metalcore, low tuned guitars, retro synths and a big melodic chorus. In addition no click tracks were used in the recordings to get the live feel that is needed in today’s metal.

Violet Sin is the brain child of Veli-Matti Kananen (Kalmah) and Jon Pyres (Lycanthro, Threads of Fate). Aiming to create melancholic metal that incorporates various, different musical elements, the duo began writing material during late 2016. Eventually enlisting the talents of Jimi Myohanen (Se, Josta Ei Puhuta / Kaera / Swansong / Sadistik Forest) and Ari Levola(RASA) and thus obtaining a full lineup, the group set out to finally record what would become their first EP during the late months of 2022, to be released in 2023 under Inverse Records.

SLAYER “Live Undead” Is Stone’s Metal Pick Of The Day!

Posted in Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on February 25, 2023 by Metal Odyssey

Years ago, I posted my “Metal Pick Of the Day“ on a frequent schedule. I’ve decided to return with writing for this fun topic again. I’ve chosen the first live album from Slayer, Live Undead, as my Metal Pick Of The Day for February 25th.

Live Undead was released back in 1984, via Metal Blade Records. I was a senior in high school back in 1984. Unreal, I know. I was a first-class smartass back in 1984; I still am, only not first-class. Anyhow, I originally bought Live Undead on cassette. Decades later, I sold that cassette with other vintage 80s Metal cassettes. Ouch. Long story short, I needed the money.

Fast forward to January 2023 and I purchased Live Undead on CD. Finally. I was so elated to own this slice of Slayer history once again! The music critics that have written lousy reviews over the years for Live Undead can simply kiss my ass. The controversy over the years regarding if a true live audience was present for this recording means donkey shit to me. I. Don’t. Care.

Listening to Live Undead is equal to comfort food for me. The early years of Slayer songs brings back such good memories. This album is raw, vicious and showcases how Thrash is supposed to sound like then and even now. An undisputed live Thrash Metal classic is this album, in my opinion. My favorite song on Live Undead is The Antichrist. Hell, this entire album is an enduring slice of Metal history. Metal be thy name. – Stone.

Posted in Death Metal, death metal bands, death metal concerts, death metal festivals, Heavy Metal, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, news with tags , , , , , , , , , on February 24, 2023 by Metal Odyssey

TOLEDO DEATH FEST is ready to stir up the most extreme mosh pit to ever tornado Ohio and its surrounding states. This year’s event is being hosted on June 3rd in Toledo, OH at Mainstreet Bar and will feature headliners, OCEANO alongside The Convalescence, VCTMS, Incite, and many more (full lineup below).

Since its inception in 2009 by Keith Wampler, the frontman of The Convalescence and owner of The Legend Agency, the festival has showcased the talents of some of the American Midwest’s best up-and-coming metal bands. Past editions have seen past support from well-known artists such as Jungle Rot, Malevolent Creation, The Breathing Process, and Casket Robbery among many more. The festival has been an extreme metal pilgrimage for fans living in the surrounding states of Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

I am very happy to be able to bring Toledo Deathfest back in 2023 with one of the most insane lineups we’ve ever had. This festival has come from being local bands at small venues to a two-stage festival featuring bands from around the country thanks to the incredible support of everyone who attends each year. Thank you to everyone who has supported Toledo Deathfest and I look forward to seeing everyone again on June 3rd!” adds festival organizer Keith Wampler.

Tickets are available at https://theconvalescence.bigcartel.com/(General Admission, VIP Packages)

Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1456718568446520/

OCEANO

Highlights of the confirmed bands include headliners Oceano with their blast beats, sonic double bass, slow heavy breakdowns, low death metal growls, and shrieking metalcore vocals ready to annihilate the pit with their discography since 2009.

THE CONVALESCENCE

The Convalescence is one of the USA’s unstoppable tour de force, touring Europe in 2022 with Chelsea Grin, and Carnifex plus an upcoming tour in Japan in 2023 with Exhumed and Defiled along with their latest single “No Survivors” ft. Scott Ian Lewis of Carnifex, that has fans demanding more and more.

VCTMS

A versatile metalcore group based out of Illinois, VCTMS employs an ambitious blend of punishing breakdowns, catchy melodies, and crushing riffs that draw from post-hardcore, hip-hop, industrial and alternative metal. They have released three full-length albums to date. Their third album Vol. III Halfway Happy was released on August 31, 2018, and reached #25 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart during its first week of release.

INCITE

Phoenix, AZ’s INCITE, now close to 20 years into a career where everything was earned and nothing was taken for granted, the band bridges the gap between multiple crowds across various metal sub-genres. As renegade disciples of trailblazing architects like Pantera, Slayer, Sepultura, and Machine Head, INCITE raise the torch for trend-killing and hipster-smashing metal. Incite is as much a part of the fabric of the style championed by Lamb Of God as the surge of newer bands like Power Trip.

Detroit (MI) – Melodic Power Thrashers AMONG THESE ASHES will release their new single “The Enemy in I” on April 21, packaged with b-side track “Sirens,” a cover of the Savatage classic. Artwork for the new single will be revealed on social media in a series of fragments March 22-27, culminating in the full reveal on March 28, along with the release of a lyric video for “Sirens.”

The band released the following statement concerning the forthcoming single package:

“A year after releasing our debut album, Dominion Enthroned, we return with our newest track, The Enemy in I. This track lyrically chronicles the woes of self-destruction. We worship at the altar of those who paved this musical path for us, and in that spirit, we’ve included a cover of a Savatage classic Sirens, as a B-side track to this release. Both tracks display our signature attributes with pummeling aggression contrasted by thematic melodies and harmony. We cannot wait to bring these cacophonous offerings to the ravenous metal hordes.”

In other news, the band just released a lyric video for a reworked version of”A Veil of Black,” a track from Dominion Enthroned, at youtu.be/Dt8CsNn7QdQ.

The new version of “A Veil of Black” features Brooke Rousseau of Lady Luna and the Devil on vocals with AMONG THESE ASHES lead vocalist, JP Abboud. The video was created by Ross Morgan. The song is included as a bonus track on Alone Records’ February 28 CD reissue of Dominion Enthroned. Pre-orders are available at this location.

Dominion Enthroned, which was released in early 2022, is available to stream in its entirety at the following locations:

If you are a death metal fan, GRACELESS shouldn’t need an introduction. Three full lengths and two split EPs have granted the Dutch ensemble a respectable reputation across the globe. Closer to home, the four piece has played countless live shows since their 2016 inception. The rock solid line up -unchanged since day one- has delivered ferocious, high energy live performances at Eindhoven Metal Meeting, Into the Grave, Party San Metal Open Air, Ruhrpott Metal Meeting, Stonehenge, SDF2021 and many more festivals and clubs.

Joining forces with LISTENABLE RECORDS in 2023 is the next thundering milestone for GRACELESS. The band comments:
«The forthcoming album will add yet another layer to what some reviewers have called ‘the Graceless sound’: guiding the listener through ever darker catacombs of doomed melancholia while proudly striking a blunt death metal hammer. We are ready to descend further down. Are you coming with us?”

ATAVISTIA – Releases New Single And Video “Cosmic Warfare”

Posted in Heavy Metal, heavy metal bands, Metal, metal bands, metal music, Music, music news, music videos, news with tags , , , , , , , on February 20, 2023 by Metal Odyssey

ATAVISTIA is a wall of sound that joyously greets the ears and assails the senses. With sweeping instrumentals, grand orchestrations, and guitars heavier than Thor’s hammer, this Canadian epic metal band from Vancouver is preparing to unleash their next odyssey, Cosmic Warfare on April 21, 2023. Pre-orders are available HERE.

The band comments on the new single: “Cosmic Warfare blasts from beginning to end as a Super Nova cleanses what we know. The amalgamation of chaos and anger brought forth during the pandemic was Cosmic Warfare’s inspiration. Such chaos and speed delivers an outlet for those who greatly suffered during these tumultuous times.”

Today the band has revealed the title track, along with a video. Stream it HERE.

Bandcamp: atavistia.bandcamp.com

What began as a bedroom project in 2016, became a full band in 2018 with Mattias Sippola on vocals and guitar, Dalton Meaden on guitar, D’wayne Murray on bass and Max Sepulveda on drums.

Fans of WINTERSUN, ENSIFERUM, DIMMU BORGIR, and XANTHOCHROID will be enthralled by the elements of melodic death metal, black metal, and Scandinavian folk that is intricately woven together throughout their diverse soundscape.

ATAVISTIA goes beyond merely crafting songs and takes you on a mental journey through vast sonic landscapes of snow covered forests, desolate tundras and barren permafrost laced landscapes. Beyond the frosty roots of their blackened inspiration, Cosmic Warfare aims for the stars and the vast emptiness of the macrocosm. Bear witness to the destruction of our planet and our cosmos and experience the nothingness of space.

Taking inspiration from the majestic natural landscapes of their homeland, earthly seasons, and ancient Norse culture, ATAVISTIA’s grandiose sound matches these lyrical themes in an impressive symphony of destruction as they balance graceful melodies with brutal rhythmic cacophony.

Cosmic Warfare – Track Listing:

1. Omega Nova
2. Cosmic Warfare
3. Ethereal Wanderer (Feat – Vincent Jones)
4. Spectral Rebirth
5. Divine Destruction
6, Forgotten Silence

On stage they are a force of nature, like waves crashing against a rocky shore, their music washes over audiences leaving them gasping for more. In a niche among metal genres, ATAVISTIA has firmly established its presence.

Are you ready to lose yourself in the juxtaposition of lush and arid, the dichotomy of hope and despair, and welcome the inevitable and beautiful end?

ATAVISTIA:

Mattias Sippola – Guitars/Vocals
Dalton Meaden – Guitars
D’wayne Murray – Bass
Max Sepulveda – Drums

Finnish Traditional Doom Metal Band WIZARDS Of HAZARDS Releases Their Sophomore Album

Finnish traditional heavy metal / doom metal band WIZARDS OF HAZARDS releases their second album SUPERNATURAL today February 17th 2023. The album is available on music services and as CD.

WIZARDS OF HAZARDS are a heavy metal band from Middle Finland. Sharing the same interest for vintage instruments and heavy music composing, they are doing their own music entirely through full analog signal chain. Their musical influences come from the recordings of the analog aeons, mostly 70’s and 80’s heavy metal, and their lyrics are inspired by bygone times, supernatural phenomenons and old tales & beliefs. After decades of jamming and performing as a trio, they shifted their shapes into a four piece and changed their name to WIZARDS OF HAZARDS.

Watch the music video “Grapes Of Wrath”: https://youtu.be/N4FSRUDlwmQ

A debut album END OF TIME came out in 2020. Album consists of doomish, heavy riffed songs from the band’s early years, and three of those were pre-released on the BLIND LEADS THE BLIND EP on that same year – both releases came via Inverse Records. Recordings were made on RTM SM900 magnetic tape within two sessions in january and june 2020 under the brilliant guidance of analog wizard Anssi Kippo at Astia-studios, Lappeenranta Finland.

The BLACK WIZARD EP was released on december 2021 by Inverse Records, and it was a hats off to their roots with ep given the band’s former name. Those three, very old songs came from the same session at the Astia-studio november 2021 as all the songs of the second album SUPERNATURAL. Although most of the songs of their second long play were made long ago, the lyrics of the album are unfortunately valid and sadly true today also. The cover art presents stunning sculptures of Vilde Hage Aune, and all the songs were recorded again on magnetic tapes with help of Mr. Kippo in that doomy & riff-based, vintage sounding way of the WIZARDS OF HAZARDS.

Tracklist

  1. GRAPES OF WRATH
  2. DUSK & DAWN
  3. MOONPOWERS
  4. WOLF TO ANOTHER
  5. SOMEONE TO DIE FOR
  6. END OF THE WORLD
  7. UNDERWORLD
  8. SUPERNATURAL
