FAITHSEDGE – Fourth Studio Album Releases In First Quarter Of 2019!

Faithsedge is wrapping up the recording for their fourth album due 1st quarter of 2019

Fronted by singer/songwriter Giancarlo Floridia vocals were tracked by Jeff Pogan at Costa Mesa recording studios.

The album also marks the return of former Stryper bassist Tim Gaines holding up the rhythm section with Mr. Big / Ace Frehley drummer Matt Starr . Bass tracking was done in Arizona and drum tracking in Los Angeles.

Former Dokken guitarist Alex De Rosso will be doing all the guitar work for the album along with producing mixing and mastering of the album at The New Cube studios in Italy.

The album is promised to be a return to the melodic sounds of 80’s arena rock, also with a mix of progressive and metal.

On This Day In IRON MAIDEN History – October 11th…

On October 11th, 1982 – IRON MAIDEN performed at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, New York, USA. This was during The Beast On The Road Tour.

On October 11th, 1986 – IRON MAIDEN performed at The Apollo Theatre in Manchester, UK. This was the Somewhere On Tour; in support of the Somewhere In Time album.

On October 11th, 1990 – IRON MAIDEN played at the Assembly Rooms in Derby, UK. This was a stop on the No Prayer On The Road Tour, in support of their studio album: No Prayer For The Dying.

Comments bassist/vocalist Denimal Blake: “It is a statement of our intent: To inject ‘Power’ back into a heavy metal scene that has been somewhat bereft of it. Whether if it truly is an objective case or not, that is our summary and the crux of the band. When heavy metal first gained a foothold it was the personification of musical power, a very special time that is finally coming back to strength, regardless of trends, due to its dominance.”

ROAD WARRIOR (who are rounded out by guitarist Overdryve and drummer Villon) are said to have recorded Power with “gusto, the gnashing teeth and thrusting of loins,” meaning, the album’s cuts are leaning heavily on the band’s ’80s influences as well as the proto-metal scene from the latter part of the ’70s. Says Blake: “Our influences are in a blender this time, laced with the flavor of ROAD WARRIOR, METAL CHURCH, BLACKKOUT, early IRON MAIDEN, SAVATAGE, JUDAS PRIEST, LOUDNESS, RIOT, TWISTED SISTER and HEXX.”

Accordingly, Blake says the album’s lyrical themes are quite varied: “Sex, sex and more sex, along with a bit of historical conspiracy, power, pre-diluvial civilization and hotter sex.” Tongue-and-cheek aside, Blake and his ROAD WARRIOR bandmates remain steadfast in their conviction to true heavy metal.

“We have an acute awareness of the NWOTHM [NEW WAVE OF TRADITIONAL HEAVY METAL] and know that we stand out in many ways, whether it’s due to influence, locality or pedigree. Either way, I cannot speak for the ears of others, but we are supremely confident the album will live up to the album cover and title and help usher in a new age of classic rock and metal as the trends dissolve.”

“This song is based on the urban legend of the North of Russia. It is about the freight train number 1702, which travels through the deep forests of Northern Europe. According to legend, during the journey, the crew meets an alien object that first surrounds the train, and then picks up the train and moves it with a giant speed. The song describes what is happening and the emotional feeling of the crew, including visual and sound design tools (the average tempo of the composition, like the train, guitar parts emphasize what the song is about, there are original sounds of the train). Musically, the song is inspired by American groove metal and Scandinavian black metal.”

Band Bio:

Second To Sun is a metal band from Saint Petersburg, Russia, founded in 2012 by its guitarist Vladimir Lehtinen. Second To Sun concentrate on the musical and creative aspect more and use visual elements on every song (artwork, lyrics, behind the song infos etc.) to give more depth and back story to the music. The band’s music contains a blend of metal genres: on the one hand, it has the many rhythmic elements of groove metal; on the other hand, it continues the legacy of such classic Scandinavian black metal bands as Emperor, Mayhem, and Dakthrone.

Such diverse musical roots of the band protrude from Vladimir Lehtinen’s songwriting, Gleb Sysoev‘s soul-crushing vocals and Fedor Borovsky‘s groovy drum lines. The band releases two versions of each album – the vocal and the instrumental one. Each individual instrumental composition is accompanied by unique artwork and a hefty description of the story the composition tells, which provides a deeper insight into the music, as well as the band’s inspiration and creative process. GREYHAWK – To Release Debut EP: “Ride Out”

Seattle-based classic heavy metal band GREYHAWK are gearing up for the release of their debut EP, Ride Out. Featuring six blazing tracks of trad metal in the vein of DIO, MANOWAR and BLIND GUARDIAN, GREYHAWK will self-release Ride Out on October 18th.

Ride Out was recorded, mixed and mastered by Cody J Brumlow at Hangar 12 Studios, Mountlake Terrace, Washington. Album artwork by Jesse White.

The story of GREYHAWK begins in late 2016, when Jesse Berlin, a neoclassical shredder from New York, and Darin Wall, a proud rock warrior from the northern wastelands of Canada, joined forces in Seattle, Washington. Together they scoured the city for fellow warriors who were true enough to join their cause. After over a year of searching, reinforcements finally arrived in the form of Enrico Mariuzzo, another rock and roll shred demon all the way from Italy, and the booming operatic voice of Revere Taylor, who while dazzling audiences at Seattle Opera also yearned for heavy metal glory. The four gathered on the regular, crafting songs and planning their attack, and then finally the last piece of the puzzle arrived from across the Cascade Mountains in the form of the powerhouse drummer Nate Butler.  After many hours of blood and sweat, GREYHAWK entered the studio, employing the expertise of audio wizard Cody J Brumlow to forge their debut EP, Ride Out.  Now they set out to bring their brand of heavy metal to the unsuspecting masses…

West coast metal veterans Metal Church will release their 12th full length studio album Damned If You Do via Rat Pak Records on December 7, 2018 and will also be available in Europe via Nuclear Blast and Japan via KING Records. The latest release is the follow-up to their highly successful 2016 album “XI”, which saw the return of legendary front-man Mike Howe. Damned If You Do is a cross between the band’s iconic Blessing In Disguise and The Human Factor. This new offering features ten fully-charged, classic-metal influenced songs that showcase the sound that has garnered the band a solid fanbase for over 3 decades.

Kurdt Vanderhoof comments: “I feel this album is a very powerful statement to what Metal Church has always been about. A tough and aggressive old school metal album while maintaining a level of musicality and melodic sensibilities”.

Damned If You Do also features new drummer Stet Howland (ex WASP / Lita Ford). Stet first arrived after the departure of long-time drummer Jeff Plate, but soon after joining the band was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Miraculously his treatments for the aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma worked and he was able to begin recording the new album.

Speaking of the new album Stet Howland comments, “From the minute we started tracking this new CD, I had the feeling that it was going to be something special. I knew that I was going to do my best to deliver a top drum performance, not only because of the high standard set by past Metal Church drummers, but also because this is my first CD release after being sick. I’m beyond happy with all aspects of this CD, great songs, great performances, great production, just an overall great CD! I love it!”

This is progressive death metal at its most uncompromising; dense with intricate riffs, elaborate bass lines, mind-melting lead guitar work and more. Elaborate structures occasionally peel back to reveal a Chasm-inspired melodic development.

Brazilian progressive death metal band PIAH MATER are pleased to announce that they have signed with legendary Italian label code666 to release their forthcoming album The Wandering Daughter on October 5th 2018.

Vocalist Luiz Felipe Netto commented: “Code666 has been the cradle of many great bands that went on to later become household names in their niche. We are very honored by this opportunity and looking forward to seize it in the best possible way.”

He further explains that “Although it’s not a concept album per se, “The Wandering Daughter” does have a common theme throughout its entirety, a thread that connects its 6 songs into a sensorial unity. On a musical level, we aimed for that feeling of being taken on a journey, with its many pitfalls and climaxes along the record’s 56 minutes of play. Lyric-wise, that thread would be the relationship between man/ woman and nature. I understand that, at a first glance, this is not exactly groundbreaking territory for a band to explore in their songs, plenty of artists have delved into this topic before. But I do believe that, when crafting lyrics, perspective is everything and that the way this subject is presented stems from a very genuine and intimate place. SLASHER DAVE, the formidable frontman of Detroit’s Acid Witch, and 20 Buck Spin have united forces to bring a special treat for this year’s Halloween loot bag. On Frights, his fourth solo record, SLASHER DAVE introduces a heavier side to the instrumental synth album world. Terrifying industrial rhythms pulse through a stark electronic soundscape of analog synthesizers, pounding bass, distorted guitars, warped lo-fi horror samples and sedulous sound design. The entire album is written, recorded, mixed, and produced by SLASHER DAVE, and, as with his past solo releases, he handled all artwork and design as well.

I don’t write with modular synth too much but there is a modular patch at the beginning, middle, end, and in the background of the heavier parts if you listen closely, just enough to add a little flavor and rawness to the track, and there’s a little bit of guitar and amp feedback I blended together to make that heavy pumping effect. A perfect introduction to Frights.”
