Cosmic black metal duo LIGHTLORN has unleashed “Dimensionless Blackness,” the newest single from their upcoming full-length debut: At One with the Night Sky.
The third track on the album, “Dimensionless Blackness” is full of contrasting elements. From the bright guitar picking in the intro, which belies the energetic, groove-infested opening riff that follows, to the ups and downs in the song structure, “Dimensionless Blackness” is highly representative of the sound LIGHTLORN has become known for. The lead guitar carries captivating melodies, while a foreboding piano section and an outro replete with strings and brass infuse the song with atmosphere and emotion. The lyrics are sung from the perspective of a supermassive black hole in the center of a galaxy. How it holds the galaxy together while slowly devouring the matter around it.

Against The Daylight is the first single from the new DÉCEMBRENOIR album Your Sunset | My Sunrise, which is set to be released on October 13th via Lifeforce Records.
The lyric video was created by JerkkaPerälä / Soft Neon Audiovisual, who is also responsible for the visual works for his own band ATLASES, also in Lifeforce Records.
As for the direction of their new album, DÉCEMBRE NOIR reveal the following: “Your Sunset | My Sunrise” is the cry for inner peace set to music. A heavy heart full of tears, which threatens to plunge its bearer into the abyss at any moment. Even if this means giving up oneself, in the end only the long-awaited silence counts. It is the escape on the wings of addiction from the battlefield of never-ending depression.
The approach of the band from Thuringia, Germany also reaches deep on their fifth full-time album – both lyrically and musically. This is already known from the previous records “The Renaissance Of Hope” (2020), “Autumn Kings” (2018), “Forsaken Earth” (2016) and “A Discouraged Believer” (2014). DÉCEMBRE NOIR act consistently atmospheric, gloomily tuned and open to interpretation. The underlying thoughts, emotions and intentions of the songs of the quintet are not always clearly determinable. And they don’t have to be. For the nuances and forebodings set to music have a special significance in the German band’s playing.

On“Your Sunset | My Sunrise”, produced by HEAVEN SHALL BURN’s Alexander Dietz at his Chemical Burn Studio, DÉCEMBRE NOIR again rely on melancholic as well as melodically addressed pieces that stand completely on their own and therefore captivate because they are presented so heavy, dark and atmospheric.
I went to see the mighty and legendary Queensrÿche back on April 6th of this year in Columbus Ohio at the Newport Music Hall. Man, what a show!! The place was jam packed with with a legion of fans! My wife and 2 good friends went with me, making for a good times night of memories.
I’ll add that the one song that made the crowd go absolutely bananas was their classic Jet CityWoman. I was thrilled. The band even played my all-time favorite of theirs: Queen of the Reich. This was my third time seeing Queensrÿche, dating back to the late 80’s. This era of the band I’m just as proud of as any. I hope you enjoy the photos I took, I tried my best not being up close as I’d like to have been.

FARSOTH was founded in Sala (Sweden) by Jari Kuusisto in 2020. Shortly thereafter JoakimMikiver on vocals, Jonas Magnusson on bass, and Kristofer Elemyr on guitar were contacted to join the band. The search for the right drummer turned out to be a more difficult task than expected. Several months later the place was still not filled so Jari decided to contact his good friend Chris Barkensjö (Lik) to help with the drum recording for the album. All said and done, FARSOTH had 9 songs recorded but still no permanent drummer.

In early 2021 William Parkstam was recruited as the band’s permanent drummer. FARSOTH rehearsed for the first time as a full band in Williams’ hometown of Uppsala. Since then, they have released several videos, along with their debut album, The Plague, on all major streaming platforms.
Shortly after the album’s release in late 2022, William decided to leave the band due to other obligations, and Kristofer sadly passed away. William was quickly replaced by Florian Rehn on drums and in early 2023 Johnny Nymark joined the band as their new guitarist. At the beginning of 2023, Swedish record label Black Lion Records reached out to FARSOTH offering the band a record deal. So with a fresh record deal and more than 14 new songs, FARSOTH is looking forward to seeing what 2023 will bring.

A son of Poseidon, J.P. Krom is a Chilean writer/composer, singer/guitarist, and one of a few who cultivate the gothic metal style in the country. His music is a blend of astrological /esoteric concepts overlaid with the sounds and structures of gloomy metal, which are further enhanced with stunning visuals. Initially inspired by an astral chart, an irresistible invitation to the esoteric he began to hone his classical training into the both brooding and effervescent music that is found on the third album “AstroMetal” set to be released later this fall. In the meantime, he offers the Spanish single “Luna Plutón”, which invokes harmonious leads and bassy vocals that draw you in. Krom comments:
“Luna Plutón tells us about dark family secrets, kept in the dark of our minds. Secrets we all have, and some knowand they use them to manipulate, generating resentment and an obsession with these emotions fixed in the deep. Kicking off with “Number 12 (Looks Just Like You)”, INTENT deliver a ferocious onslaught of high speed rhythms and thundering percussion. Continuing to inject a monumental display of power, “Insight” brings a vicious attack of unceasing riffs, aggressive chugs and menacing vocals. Entering into foreboding realms, “Network Failure” begins with intriguing groove bass lines and rhythmic percussion, before bursting into a full on offensive strike of raging heavy.
About INTENT: Formed in 2015, the Arizona based INTENT subsequently underwent a number of line-up changes and spent time developing their sound before heading into the live scene. The outfit soon began opening up for bands like OVERKILL, DRI, and HAVOK to name a few. 2018 saw the release of their debut album Vox Populi, and in 2022 the release of Exile showcased the thrashers’ hard work as they cultivated the next era of their sound. Southern Death Cult formed in 1981, releasing their sole, self-titled album posthumously in 1983. That same year, Death Cult formed, with Astbury joining forces with Duffy for a musical partnership that has endured for 40-plus years. The band released two 12-inches that same year, one being the Death Cult EP, which were subsequently combined and released as a CD. Death Cult is a vital transmission from the generation of Shamanic post-punk gothic futurists.
Death Cult became The Cult in 1984. Releasing Dreamtime that same year and going on to experience a career that has seen the release of 11 full-length albums, as well as numerous international and U.S. gold and platinum certifications.

Danish/American hyperthrash band TERMINALIST today unleashes a new video for “Mutating Fractures,” the second single from their impending second LP, “The Crisis As Condition”, out in early September on Indisciplinarian.
Just as on their debut album, TERMINALIST teamed up with producer Lasse Ballade, “The Crisis As Condition” recorded and mixed at Ballade Studios in Copenhagen and mastered by V. Santura (Triptykon, Dark Fortress) at Woodshed Studios in Germany. Also, the same as the first album, British painter Ryan T. Hancock is again responsible for the unique artwork, and photography is handled by Theis Wilmer Poulsen.
The disturbing video for “Mutating Fractures” was created in cooperation with videographer Johan Von Bülow. TERMINALIST vocalist, lyricist, and guitarist Emil Hansen elaborates on the song theme, stating, “The crises we face affect and worsen each other. Whether we’re talking climate, war, or inequality, these issues each play a part in a larger whole. ‘Mutating Fractures’ is an attempt to convey this message through imagery inspired by the Covid crisis where the crises resemble fractures constantly mutating, presenting new problems along the way. It’s a deeply pessimistic track which, although catchy and riffy, also itself mutates, diverting from the original theme before the last reprise.”

About: The Tennessee Metal Devastation Music Fest is a one-day heavy metal music festival held in West Tennessee. It features bands from all over the USA, along with numerous art, craft, and food vendors, and is the only event of its kind in the Jackson, TN area. The aim of the festival is to connect bands and artists with new fans and supporters. The festival organizers are paving the way in allowing the bands and artists to perform and sell their goods while keeping 100% of their merchandise revenue with no vending fees or merch cuts.

Hot on the heels of their recent co-headline tour announcement, Canadian melodic metal outfit LUTHARO has now announced a string of Canadian dates supporting power metal powerhouses UNLEASH THE ARCHERS. They will be joined by tourmates PALADIN for all four dates. Tickets are available HERE.

Metal titans UNEARTH have left their undeniable mark on heavy metal history through their relentless determination to deliver indisputable classics with every album. “The Wretched; The Ruinous is about the eight billion people on this planet,” describes vocalist Trevor Phipps. “We’ve created a man-made mass extinction event and have been too slow to correct our faults. Ontario-based melodic death-thrash outfit RAIDER are going to tear open North America this month on their North American tour.
