When the style definition “Female fronted Thrash Metal” is used, inclined Metalheads always hope impatiently for a completely unleashed and dangerous, wild, vocal storm of throat-amazons. Regarding to this, one gets well treatment by DYING GORGEOUS LIES.
Unbridled musical attitude namely gets fullest correspondence, at this extensive and adept high-speed note-command in all matters; and this includes even just the mangy as well as decayed, but always worth hearing variable micro-output of the prestigious wildcat Liz Gorgeous.
Founded in 2009, the enthusiastic Upper Franconian bunch of Thrashers around front-fury Liz worked out an enormous agile, rythmicized sound of pure defiance. The results are varied songs, which doesn’t lack neither of refined structures nor of catchy moments.
This allows the troupe to create easily animating needs for movement. In the homeland of the dynamic chapel, the famous German beer and brewer city Kulmbach, Metalheads already recognize and appreciate the formation fully.
Currently DYING GORGEOUS LIES keep their Digital EP Rising Hate in the race. Rising Hate is intended as an effective appetizer for their upcoming second studio album, which will be on the market in 2014.
ONSLAUGHT – The sixth studio album from UK Thrash Legends, ONSLAUGHT, will be released in Europe on September 20th; a U.S. release is slated for September 24th, via AFM Records. Nuclear Blast is proud to announce the signing of New York City-based thrashers GENERATION KILL, headed by EXODUS frontman Rob Dukes.
Together with Rob Moschetti (ex-PRO-PAIN / M.O.D.) on bass & backing vocals, dual lead guitarists Jason Trenzcer (ex-MUTILATION) & Jason Velez, and James DeMaria (ex- MERAUDER) on drums, GENERATION KILL has completed work with producer Zeuss (HATEBREED, AGNOSTIC FRONT, MUNICIPAL WASTE) on their second studio album (and follow-up to 2011’s Red, White And Blood) to be released later this year.
Culling the band name from the title of the 2004 book (also a HBO mini-series) written by Rolling Stone journalist Evan Wright, GENERATION KILL vocalist Rob Dukes comments on the band’s time in the studio & the recent worldwide signing:
“We all reached down and made a good record. Zeuss really helped us bring out things in all of us we didn’t know we had. We fought, we argued, and in the end, each of us rose up to the challenge and wrote good fucking songs. I want to thank everyone at Nuclear Blast for having GENERATION KILL become part of the greatest metal family.”
ROB DUKES
Producer Zeuss adds: “This album is not an EXODUS clone. This is an album of music where five guys got together and explored our own roots of music, the records we grew up listening to and [then] wrote songs paying homage to what we love.”
Nuclear Blast A&R Manager Jaap Wagemaker weighs in on GENERATIONKILL & their addition to the label roster:
“With the release of their debut, Red, White And Blood, we knew that something special was brewing in New York! The band is playing a different kind of thrash metal – not just straight in-your-face but also elements from hardcore and alternative are used, not only in the music, but also in the vocals. Rob is mostly known for his aggressive vocal style in EXODUS; you will be very surprised to hear a different side from him. Two months ago, we had the chance to see the band play as support for HEATHEN. We were blown away by the sheer live power of this outfit. All members have a lot of experience playing in New York and are longtime friends. They really know their music and it shows. We at Nuclear Blast are very impressed by the new tracks and are very pleased to welcome GENERATION KILL as new members to the Nuclear family. GENERATION KILL are here to destroy and leave no prisoners behind!”
In the beginning of 2009, TOXIC WALTZ were founded by lead guitarist Jimi and ex-drummer Tim.
Bass guitar player Rahman, vocalist Angelo and rhythm guitarist Alex joined the band soon to form a THRASH METAL ensemble that is clearly affected by the US BAY AREA style (e.g. EXODUS, HEATHEN, DARK ANGEL), neither leaving out influences from other genres nor lacking recognition value.
TOXIC WALTZ are delivering aggressive, but artistically demanding THRASH, characterized by diversified songwriting.
The band’s unique style and live experience, originated with many smaller gigs, earned them bigger venues soon.
TOXIC WALTZ has shared the stage with well-known bands like SIX FEETUNDER, ALPHA TIGER and DEBAUCHERY.
In the near future, the debut full-length record “tba” is ready to be released through a record company. The band is fully ambitious to reach the maximum success for them and the label!
METAL ALLIANCE TOUR 2013– Now, this is what I call a Metal Alliance! What a killer lineup of Metal bands! The ultra legendary ANTHRAX and EXODUS together! Thrash Metal history 101 will be in session, my Metal brethren!
On this tour, ANTHRAX will be performing, in its entirety, their 1987 Thrash Metal masterpiece: Among The Living. Whoa!
Richmond Virginia’s very own MUNICIPAL WASTE will be spreading their Thrashing Speed Metal message on this tour as well! HIGH ON FIRE, SHADOWS FALL and HOLY GRAIL round out this Metal Alliance Tour 2013! Metal be thy name!

ANGER AS ART will release Hubris Inc.on February 5th, 2013 via Old School Metal Records. ANGER OF ART founder and Veteran of the Metal Wars Steve Gaines (Abattoir, Bloodlust, Tactics, Bitch, Dreams of Damnation, Pagan War Machine) states that the band’s fourth album, which follows the well-received Disfigure, offers the kind of vicious, memorably penned Thrash/Speed Metal that fans have come to expect without simply retracing the steps taken on previous albums.
Adding to the album’s immense appeal is a range of special guest appearances. “Rage and Retribution” features Betsy Bitch on vocals, Jim Durkin (Dark Angel) on lead guitar and Timothy Gaines (Stryper) on bass. Steve Nelson (Evil Dead) contributes backing vocals on “The Evil You Create.” And last but certainly not least, “Speed Kills,” which features Mark Caro (Abattoir) on lead guitar, was actually written for Abattoir back in 1984 and is performed by all Abattoir members.

Earlier this year, the band released a video for the song “Odin’s Blood” off ofThy Blackened Reign.
About THE HORDE:
Unleashed in 2008, From Empire to Ashes consisted of six epic, Metal classics that took the listener on a journey into dark forbidden realms and all the way to the hallowed gates of Valhalla. Songs of bravery in battle, demonic warriors, clan warfare, and bewitchment that would inspire any true warrior on the fields of battle. As the band themselves proudly proclaim, “worship the glory of death!” This is real Metal, played by real men of Metal, for real fans of Metal. That tradition continues on the band’s fire-branded second release Thy Blackened Reign.
Members of THE HORDE have been playing together in one form or another for the better part of two decades, having played in past regional bands from the area. With marked influence from their prior groups, THE HORDE brings the perfect mix of headbanging mosh pit chaos, epic Sword & Sorcerer monster battles and just the slightest touch of Stoner Doomage.
THE HORDE has shared the stage with the likes of Exodus, 3 Inches of Blood, Job For a Cowboy, Black Dahlia Murder, Soilent Green, Skeletonwitch, The Red Chord and many others… THE HORDE draws influence from the likes of Venom, Celtic Frost, Metallica, Destruction, Kreator, Motorhead, Slayer, Cro-Mags, and Iron Maiden. In September 2011, the band released Thy Blackened Reign via Stormspell Records to critical acclaim. In the summer of 2012, THE HORDE took the next step towards world domination by joining forces with Abyss Records.
Prepare for the HORDE to take a seat amongst the skulled thrones of previous Metal masters and stand proud alongside their brothers in arms…
Canadian Thrash trio UNTIMELY DEMISE were denied access to the United States earlier this week, only several dates into their three-week tour of the western half of North America.
Having successfully blazed their way through the first five performances in Canada on their way south, UNTIMELY DEMISE proceeded to the border checkpoint into Washington, and due to a logistical paperwork error involving one member, after multiple attempts, the band were not allowed entry into the country. Frustrated, they turned around and headed home, posting a statement on their Facebook last night explaining the situation in detail and apologizing to their American fans and friends they’d planned on raging with over the next few weeks. Get the full scoop on this unfortunate situation HERE, and stay tuned for future US live actions once this is all cleared up.
In the meantime, the band still have some badass regional gigs confirmed in Saskatchewan and Alberta in May, and will have more to broadcast in the weeks ahead.

Last week the story broke that Seattle Grunge engineer (Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains) Dave Hillis’s first band Mace has reformed. Most of the major Metal mags across the globe have picked up the vibe. Now they want their fans to have the music FOR FREE. (See facebook link at bottom of post).
Dave Hillis started his career as a 17-year-old guitarist for the legendary Thrash Metal band “MACE.” In the mid 80’s, they released two LP’s on Enigma Records in the US and Blackdragon Records in Europe. They were featured on Metalblade Records Metal Massacre V, recognized in the Trashmetal Encyclopedia and fanzine’s around the world as a pioneering force in Heavy Metal. Led by Dave’s furious guitar work they Charted in the UK. and Japan’s top 20; touring with the likes of Slayer, Anthrax, Raven, Death Angel and Testament.
Of course everyone knows Mace guitarist Dave Hillis went on to work on some of the biggest albums in Rock history as a producer. (Pearl Jam “10”, Alice In Chains “Dirt”…etc) but Mace was always in the back of his mind. Hillis told American Rock Scene, “I always wanted to remix the old songs, and when I opened my own studio I had to do it, and it was so much fun that we thought we would try a new song and that was so much fun that we said why not teach these young kids how it was done back in the day”.
A huge part of the Thrash scene back in the 80’s was the underground tape trading movement. That would help spread the word like wild-fire. Says Hillis when asked how important underground trading was, “We got all our shows on tour and fanzine reviews and interviews that way, giving it away on the internet today is just an extension of that”.
Mace is using the 21st century version of tape trading and is giving away Haarp Strings 2012 to their fans FOR FREE and they are encouraging them to give it away to anyone they want, no strings attached.
Hemoptysis guitarist and front man Masaki Murashita has done a series of nine demonstration videos for ProvidenceCables, all of which can be viewed at www.providence.jp. In addition to an introductory piece, a total of eight videos are included with Murashita discussing the original concepts, ideas, and the characteristics of each specific model.
English and Japanese language versions of the videos are available, the latter of which will be placed in music instrument stores nationwide in Japan this spring. Some of the acclaimed artists that have used the guitar cables include Carl Verheyen, Larry Carlton, Michael Landau, and Ramon Goose.
