Influenced by Thrash Metal Royalties Slayer, Kreator, Destruction and Exodus’earlier works, ETERNAL EVIL was formed in Stockholm – Sweden in 2019. The band has intended to carry on the legacy of early High energy early Classic Thrash insanity.
Their quickly sold out ‘Rise of Death’ self released demo recorded in band leader Adrian Tobar’s garage and It was later eissued by Iron Fist and Redefining Darkness records.
Shortly after the demo release, the world was hit by a pandemic and during those restrictive years, the band worked on in silence and brought in Norrland guitarist Tobias Lindström. Oakland, California-based melodic death/thrash metal quartet GLACIER EATER emerges with their second album, Tempest, confirming the record for release through Glacier Recordings at the end of October, and issuing the cover art, track listing, preorders, and the title track as the lead single.
Bursting out of the thrash mecca of the Bay Area like an alien thrash baby tearing through your stomach, GLACIER EATER again delivers their shredding alloy of metals with the long-awaited follow-up to their 2015-relesed eponymous debut, Tempest. Acting as a prequel to Glacier Eater, Tempest reveals an odyssey of turmoil and tragedy through the lyrics and vocals of Keith Welch and Ryan Hansen. Each song is another chapter in a story about the struggles of trying to create a better life, the self-inflicted tortures we pull ourselves out of, and the lessons learned through the reflections of the journey endured.
Lifted off the shoulders of guitarists/vocalists Keith Welch (Sworn Vengeance, Murder Practice) and Ryan Hansen (Light This City, ESP Guitars artist), GLACIER EATER introduces new drummer Trey Derbes (Heartsounds) and bassist Bret Fontaine on the new album. With eight crushing tracks, Tempest is reminiscent of the 2000s Swedish melodic death metal sound, showcasing virtuoso guitar solos and decimating riffs delivered at breakneck speed.
Tempest was recorded, mixed, and mastered by the legendary Zack Ohren (Machine Head, Cattle Decapitation, All Shall Perish) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, and completed with artwork by Trey Derbes.
The first single from Tempest is the album’s title track. Ryan Hansen writes about the song, “‘Tempest’ was a great song to be the title track of the album because I think we really hit one of the highest peaks of intensity for the record on this one. The song describes a ship getting tossed around and badly damaged in a wild storm at sea, so I wanted the riffs and melodies to feel like a real flurry of notes at times. Also making it one of the biggest pains in the ass to perform! It’s really the only song on the album with a proper chorus making it just feel right to be the leadoff single.”
Keith Welch adds, “The part of ‘Tempest’ I wrote the lyrics for and sing on the record are a self-reflection an individual is having about their own failed attempts to outgrow and overcome their past issues. These thoughts detonate in their head as they feel like they are being punished for their failures to vanquish their past issues while being hurled through a storm at sea.”

Hyperia is a Canadian melodic thrash metal band known for wailing vocals, shredding guitars, and fast, heavy drums. Formed in 2018, Hyperia combines elements of aggressive thrash with intricate guitar melodies alongside a wide variety of vocal styles, which have been showcased on an EP and two albums thus far, with the third full-length slated for release this November. The first single off “The Serpent’s Cycle” is the blistering “Prophet Of Deceit”, which takes a more serious tone than the other tracks on the album. The band comments:
“This track brings us back into a serious mood, it is a quite melodic and technical song starting off with blistering guitar into a full-force attack of drums. The working title for this song was “Shredlord Supreme”, which should give you an idea of what to expect. This song is about the problems we have with certain members of society and gaslighting. It’s a hard-hitting track that is full of energy throughout.”
This album “The Serpent’s Cycle” has a wide variety of riffs, ones that will remind listeners of the 80s and also ones that usher in the new era of modern thrash. Song order was intentionally chosen to ensure that each song is given its space between different songs and makes the album continue feeling fresh throughout. Hyperia expects “The Serpent’s Cycle” to be received very well by fans as everyone who has heard it so far agrees it’s by far the best album they’ve made. It has all the usual elements of a Hyperia album, just amplified and refined. They think it’s a huge step up from their previous releases and hope the reception for it proves that.
The melodic and aggressive 11-track album that includes a cover of Heart‘s “Crazy On You” comes out on November 17, 2023, and is a perfect mix of old-school sensibilities and modern experimentation. It is recommended for fans of Exmortus, Municipal Waste, and Havok.

Kicking off with “Number 12 (Looks Just Like You)”, INTENT deliver a ferocious onslaught of high speed rhythms and thundering percussion. The incessant crushing bass drum hits and heavy rhythms are utterly relentless. Continuing to inject a monumental display of power, “Insight” brings a vicious attack of unceasing riffs, aggressive chugs and menacing vocals. Entering into foreboding realms, “Network Failure” begins with intriguing groove bass lines and rhythmic percussion, before bursting into a full on offensive strike of raging heavy.
About INTENT: Formed in 2015, the Arizona based INTENT subsequently underwent a number of line-up changes and spent time developing their sound before heading into the live scene. The outfit soon began opening up for bands like OVERKILL, DRI, and HAVOK to name a few. 2018 saw the release of their debut album Vox Populi, and in 2022 the release of Exile showcased the thrashers’ hard work as they cultivated the next era of their sound. The upcoming EP sees the quartet continue on that trajectory.

Danish/American hyperthrash band TERMINALIST today unleashes a new video for “Mutating Fractures,” the second single from their impending second LP, “The Crisis As Condition”, out in early September on Indisciplinarian.
Just as on their debut album, TERMINALIST teamed up with producer Lasse Ballade, “The Crisis As Condition” recorded and mixed at Ballade Studios in Copenhagen and mastered by V. Santura (Triptykon, Dark Fortress) at Woodshed Studios in Germany. Also, the same as the first album, British painter Ryan T. Hancock is again responsible for the unique artwork, and photography is handled by Theis Wilmer Poulsen.
The disturbing video for “Mutating Fractures” was created in cooperation with videographer Johan Von Bülow. TERMINALIST vocalist, lyricist, and guitarist Emil Hansen elaborates on the song theme, stating, “The crises we face affect and worsen each other. Whether we’re talking climate, war, or inequality, these issues each play a part in a larger whole. ‘Mutating Fractures’ is an attempt to convey this message through imagery inspired by the Covid crisis where the crises resemble fractures constantly mutating, presenting new problems along the way. It’s a deeply pessimistic track which, although catchy and riffy, also itself mutates, diverting from the original theme before the last reprise.”

San Fransisco (CA) – Bay Area Hardcore/Thrash/Groove Metal quartet ALMOST DEAD have signed to Innerstrength Records!
ALMOST DEAD are about to record their sixth full length album for the label! On the forthcoming album, the band take their sound even further into realms of the extreme, building off all of their previous influences, incorporating new ones, and growing their reach both internationally and domestically.
Since forming in Martinez, CA in 2004, ALMOSTDEAD has been churning out an aggressive blend of thrash, groove metal and hardcore. The group’s sound is influenced by the likes of Panteraand Sepultura, infused with that of their local Bay Area scene like Testament and Machine Head, as well as incorporating more modern influences such as New England metalcore and New York death metal. ALMOST DEAD has created their own original style that still includes all the elements of metal you know and love.
ALMOST DEAD have released five full-length albums to date: Almost Dead (2007), Internal Chaos (2008), Mindfucked(2012), Lay Me Down To Waste(2018), and Brutal Onslaught(2021).
In a 10/10-rated review, Jennytate.wordpress.com called 2018’s Lay Me Down To Waste “a slab of steel driven rage and blood spurting horror, like you’ve never heard before. In early 2021 ALMOST DEAD signed a worldwide deal with Art Gates Records, looking to take their unique blend of metal music and intense live performances and share it with the rest of the world. In partnership with the Flaming Arts Agency, ALMOST DEAD embarked on the “Black Rituals Tour 2021″ in Europe, alongside co-headliners Batushka (PL) and Belphegor (AT), as well as fellow support Diabolical (SE) and Warhammer (GR).

Time To Kill Records announces the signing of Brazilian death-thrashers TORTURE SQUAD for the release of their new album “Devilish” in 2023. “Devilish” is an album surrounded by a dark atmosphere, its lyrics show urges experienced in our century, such as the constant degradation of the Amazon rainforest and the population increasingly affected by psychological illnesses such as anxiety and depression. At the same time, it opens windows of escape for an imaginary world inspired by games, series and fiction books.
In their second album with the new lineup, Mayara Puertas (Voice),Rene Simionato (Guitar), Castor(Bass) and Amilcar Christófaro(Drums) transcend the sound of extreme metal with maturity, incorporating progressive metal, influences from Brazilian music and symphonic elements.
The album also honors Brazilian heroes with a participation of Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) in the track “Buried Alive”, and a tribute to Rickson Gracie the resilient fighter of Jiu Jitsu considered one of the greatest legends in this sport, the theme of the track “Warrior”. The band also mobilized several musicians related to indigenous causes in their country to collaborate on the song “Uatumã”, making an appeal for the preservation of the Amazon in a song that flows in an powerful way with the speeches of the indigenous leader Raoni Metuktire and tribal rhythms.
For the cover art, the band had Marcelo Vasco, a Brazilian illustrator who has already created artworks for Slayer, Dimmu Borgir, Soulfly among others.

In the mid-1980s, Denmark’s ARTILLERY established themselves as being at the cutting edge of the thrash movement. Four decades later, they continue to destroy. The band’s most recent studio offering – the aptly titled, X — was released in 2021 via Metal Blade Records. X was tracked in Medley Studio in Copenhagen, Denmark with producer Søren Andersen, who the band have worked with on every record since 2009’s When Death Comes.
On July 14, 2023, German thrash metal titans VENDETTA will return to the scene with their sixth studio album, Black As Coal, through Massacre Records. It’s the band’s first offering in six long years.
As the previously-released, first album single “Stranglehold Of Terror” proved, Black As Coal sees the band stronger and heavier than ever, and without question, they are about to deliver their best album to date! Having released their first two records in the late 80’s, VENDETTA‘s style is deeply rooted in thrash and speed metal. With the addition of guitarist Jan Hüttinger and drummer Domi Bertelt, new blood joined VENDETTA a few years ago and the band started working on their upcoming, new album, that was recorded during the pandemic.
Today, the five-piece has unleashed a new video clip for their album title track, “Black As Coal”! VENDETTA singer Mario Vogel states: “This song is about the ills of society: money is used for nonsense and not for important things; videos are taken when someone is beaten, hurt or killed, etc.”
Black As Coal was mixed by Dominik Bertelt and VENDETTA at Caffeine Recording, and was mastered by Michael Simon at Rocket Science Audio Studio. The cover artwork was designed by Pablo Klose. In celebration of their 40th anniversary last year, British thrash metal pioneers ONSLAUGHT reissued their latest three studio albums “Sounds Of Violence“ (2011), “VI” (2013) and “Generation Antichrist” (2020) as red 180 gram Vinyl editions in gatefold sleeve and a special anniversary edition of “Sounds Of Violence” as a 2-CD digipak including a bonus CD. CHUPACABRA is the new project from three battle-scarred members of Bristol’s flourishing metal scene. Nige Savage (all instruments except lead guitar) and Heather Taylor (vocals) are former members of well-known local band Wytch; Heather was also the lead singer for acclaimed Bristol band Cybervoid. Alex Brent, formerly of Captive, rounds out the recording line-up on lead guitar.
CHUPACABRA bring the full-frontal, in-your-face force of relentless thrashing riffage as a platform for soaring, aggressive vocals that explore issues of toxic relationships, female empowerment, social injustice and the laid-bare rage of one disaffected member of a broken society. FLASHBACK: SCARLET ANGER is a Luxembourgish THRASH METAL band, founded in 2007 by vocalist Joe Block and guitarist Fred Molitor. Their first gigs were followed quite quickly by the release of a first EP, called “La Realidad Es Triste …”, whose successor “Kill The King” made the band noticeable on an international level for the first time.
Being more aggressive and fast than its predecessor, “Kill The King” didn’t just earn a lot of critical acclaim but also gained the attention of the German label Dust On The Tracks. This led to a world wide record deal for the first album “Dark Reign”, which was mastered by Jeff Waters and released by Dust On The Tracks in May 2012. SCARLET ANGER presented their new album on numerous small and established festivals like the Durbuy Rock Festival and the Extremefest.
In between their shows, SCARLET ANGER started gathering first ideas for the successor to “Dark Reign”. Classic eighties and nineties comics and horror stories served as their main inspiration for what would later become their second album “Freak Show”. Mastered by Jens Bogren, this album has a more melodic approach. It was released on March 18th 2016 via Haensel and Gretel / MIG Music.
Thrash cryptids BRAY ROAD are set to release their newest album, Focused, Fierce, Relentless… on July15. This trio of beasts from Milwaukee returns with their third full-length offering of aggressive, old-school thrash.

BRAY ROAD derives its name from an actual road located in Elkhorn, WI, where stories of the popular cryptozoological werewolf-like creature, the Beast of Bray Road, is said to stalk the area.

Narcotic Wasteland is excited to announce that they will be hitting the road this June for their “Don’t Meth With Texas Tour”, which will see the death thrashers performing four show dates starting on June 22nd in Denton, and rolling through Houston, Fort Worth and wrapping up on June 25th in Corpus Christi, TX.
Following the Texas tour, the band will be beginning their West Coast leg of summer touring with Gorgatron and pushing north to Canada for a performance at Loud As Hell Fest in Drumheller, AB with Jungle Rot, Incite, Necronomicon, The Convalescence and more. They will then continue across the Canadian lands for the month of August that will wrap up with three special dates with Flordia death metal legends Massacre in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa. 2023 is going to be an exciting year for Narcotic Wasteland, not only is the band hitting the road they are will also in the works of releasing their third yet-to-be-titled album via Mega Force Records. So far they have unleashed three singles “Morality and the Wasp”, “The Best Times Have Passed” and “Victims of the Algorithm” to give fans a taste of their forthcoming mosh pit of terror. For their third full-length, the band worked once again with engineer and producer Erik Schultek who produced the band’s self-titled debut album. The band’s 2023 album will be the follow-up to their sophomore full-length 2017’s “Delirium Tremens”.
