The eighth studio album by Norwegian Black Metal band SATYRICON will be released in North America on September 17th via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

SATYRICON:

“We are back. Sorry it took so long, but we needed the time to be able to pull off a record like this,” states band frontman Sigurd “Satyr” Wongraven. “Comparing this one to previous records is time wasted, it is SATYRICON; constantly on the move. Naming this record Satyricon was the most obvious thing in the world. We have never done a record which captures the spirit of this band in such a way. Ever. It will demand a lot from you as a listener, but I know you will love it. It will grow on you and that is why it will stay with you forever. We won’t tour as much in the future as we used to, and that will just make every tour more special. This album is for you and ourselves. It is our moment!”

Satyricon was recorded in Norway, produced by Sigurd “Satyr” Wongraven, and mixed by Adam Kasper. The album features a guest vocal appearance by fellow Norwegian Sivert Høyem of the Rock group MADRUGADA. In-studio photos can be viewed on the band’s official Facebook page: Satyricon Norway

WILT – Canadian Black Metal Outfit Announces 2013 Noctis Metalfest Appearance

Central Canadian Black Metal duo, WILT, will be taking part in this year’s Noctis Metalfest in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on September 19th – 21st.

WILT finds themselves amongst legendary company at Noctis, as performances by CARCASS, EXITER, POSSESSED, SACRIFICE, CANDLEMASS and many more have already been announced. WILT is scheduled to play on Thursday, September 19th. For more information, visit:

In other news, WILT has enlisted Nick Keller (Black Dahlia Murder, Beast Wars and Heresiarch) to design the cover art for their forthcoming new release, Moving Monoliths.

On June 17, Dutch Black Metal veterans Countess will release a new EP entitled Sermons Of The Infidel. The EP will be exclusively available digitally through the band’s official Bandcamp site.

‘Sermons Of The Infidel’ features 35 minutes of METAL spread over eight tracks: six brand new versions of Countess classics and two new songs. The EP is the first Countess release since 2011’s full-length ‘On Wings Of Defiance’, two tracks of which are featured here in killer new renditions. All songs are exemplary of Countess’ unique blend of first wave Black Metal and traditional Heavy Metal.
