DEALS DEATH – Part Ways With Bass Player Fredrik Ljung

Swedish Melodic Death metallers Deals Death made a public announcement; that after three years together they will be parting ways with bass player Fredrik Ljung.

The band comments: “There are times when everything is great, there are times when everything is bad. And there are times when different paths are chosen and you simply drift apart. Things like these are never easily decided and we thank our friend and bandmate for three awesome years and wish you a brilliant future.”

Fredrik made the following statement in response: “Dear friends and fans! As you now know, I have left the band. We saw it as the only way to go and I want to thank everyone who has gotten me and Deals Death to the point where we are at today. There are many reasons for my goodbye but I personally feel that I’m not on the same wavelength as the present band. And when you play in a band such as Deals Death you have to be able to give it your all! My last contribution with Deals Death is recorded and will be heard on the new album and I’m sure you´ll like it. I will continue with my other projects and have no intention to quit making music what so ever. I would also like to thank Deals Death for this wonderful time and great memories!”

Earlier this year Deals Death completed recording of their third full length album at Studio Abyss, Sweden, which is slated for a release later this year via Spinefarm Records. Full details are yet to be announced. The new record follows the highly acclaimed ‘Elite’ record which was released in 2012 also via Spinefarm Records.

Max Duhamel, drummer of the Montreal based Death Metal powerhouse, KATAKLYSM, is forced to take a break. He also won’t be performing on the new KATAKLYSM album.

Max has just released this official statement:

“Hello everyone, it is with an extremely heavy heart that I announce today that I will not be performing on the new KATAKLYSM album, I have been struggling with many personal issues the last year but lately, the main one has been alcohol, it’s been affecting my body in a very negative way to the point that when I came home after the EX DEO tour we just did, I tried to stop drinking for few days and it’s been very hard without having any withdrawals symptoms, I’ve also lost a lot of weight as some of you noticed recently and I’m not in good shape.

I’ve heard the new material my brothers have written and its truly incredible stuff, it’s really some of the best music the band has ever done but It’s going to be a very demanding album and my state of mind and body is not ready to confront this big task right now, I need to clean my body and my mind and come back focused to Kataklysm and I don’t know how long this will take…, the guys have reached out to help in any way they can which I can’t thank them enough.. I’m truely blessed to have them as a family, so as I start my road to recovery I send this message to all of you and thank you for all the support, It’s time to take my life in my hands and take responsibility, I will not be attending the JUNO AWARDS ceremony in two weeks for EX DEO nominations but i will close my contract with the shows in MAY that are left, EXTREMEFEST, BEASTIVAL in Germany and METALFEST CZECH REP. will be my last shows until I’m ready again to come back in full form, you guys deserve the best of me… see you later.” MAX

The new album Waiting for the End to Come is tentatively scheduled for a late 2013 / early 2014 release. The album will be recorded by guitarist Jean Francois Dagenais and mixed by Zeuss (SUFFOCATION, HATEBREED, ARSIS).

FDA REKOTZ is proud to announce the signing of American classic Death Metal clan DEROGATORY. Their debut, Above All Else will be released by the label later this year. Be prepared for some blastin’ Death Metal in the vein and with soul of the good old late 80s/early 90s American Death Metal elite.

Founding guitarists Christian Ordonez and Joe Viwatkurkul wrote all the early material with Chris later taking the position of changing the music style and riff writing even further with later material. Derogatory has seen three drummers come and go before current skin-basher Coyoton stepped in. Bassist Daniel Alonzo rounds out the lineup. In 2011, the band recorded a demo, which spread like wildfire around their native Los Angeles. Derogatory specializes in heavy music played with fury, speed and technicality.

World Management would like to announce that Morbid Angel has added three more shows in Brazil! May 21 – Opiniao Porto Alegre/RS (Urânio Produtora), May 23 – Cine Joia São Paulo/SP (Alive Concerts) and May 25 – Music Hall Curitiba/PR (Showmaster).

The band will also appear on April 13th at “The Metal Fest 2013” in Santiago, Chile and at “Hell and Heaven Metal Fest 2013” in Guadalajara, Mexico on Saturday May 18.

Morbid Angel will also appear at “Hellfest Open Air 2013” In Clisson, France on Saturday June 22, 2013.

Update From German Death Horde GOREGAST

FDA Rekotz artist GOREGAST has issued an update from their headquarters in Berlin. Firstly, GOREGAST recently commissioned Dedy Badic from Badic Art to design a new logo (posted above) that reflected the band’s return to their classic Death Metal roots. Badic is known for his illustrations for SKELETAL REMAINS, GRUESOME STUFF RELISH and many others.

In early May, GOREGAST will play three dates with Swe-death monsters PAGANIZER. The dates are posted below. After returning home from the three-day assault GOREGAST will enter Soundforge Studio in Berlin to record tracks for an upcoming 7-inch EP set for release in September on FDA Rekotz.

In 2011 GOREGAST released the full-length Desechos Humanos on FDA Rekotz. Album track Honor the Dead is streaming below:

Finnish Death Metal legion KALMAH are pleased to unleash their seventh studio offering this June. Titled Seventh Swamphony, the follow-up to 2010’s critically lauded 12 Gauge release, was recorded at Tico-Tico Studios in Kemi, Finland, and features eight tracks, mixed and mastered at Sweden’s Fascination Street Studios by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, Paradise Lost, et al).

Comments lead guitarist Antti Kokko: “This album marks a milestone in our careers. We have a new keyboard player [Veli-Matti Kananen], which has given a fresh edge to the music, and we are of course very satisfied with the new material. That is why we wanted to give the songs the best possible chance without compromise; we feel very lucky and privileged to have worked with Jens Bogren.”

KALMAH’s latest production showcases the Oulu outfit’s signature brand of frantic, yet Melodic Death Metal tempered here by a new-found epic mournfulness.

KATAKLYSM – ALBUM TITLE ANNOUNCED!

Montreal based Death Metal powerhouse, KATAKLYSM, have been quietly working on new material for the past several months for their long-awaited follow-up to the highly successful Heaven’s Venom album.

“Well it’s been a seriously busy ride since our last album Heaven’s Venom was released over 3 years ago,” commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono. “From a successful world headlining run, to Ozzfest, into a recap of our 20 years as band with the Iron Will DVD. We’ve been writing in a very humble fashion behind the scenes for the last six months. It’s time to take KATAKLYSM to higher levels and dig deep into our capacities as musicians and songwriters. We know exactly what we have to do, that’s why we have taken our time and why we’ll be taking most of the Summer to complete the new album. The record will deal lyrically with mortality and the purpose of ones being on this earth. The moment we are born we start to die. It’s a sort of deal we make with life, and with that I title the new KATAKLYSM album Waiting for the End to Come.”

Waiting for the End to Come is tentatively scheduled for a late 2013 / early 2014 release. The album will be recorded by guitarist Jean Francois Dagenais and mixed by Zeuss (SUFFOCATION, HATEBREED, ARSIS)

As previously reported, KATAKLYSM guitarist and longtime producer Jean-François Dagenais (MALEVOLENT CREATION, MISERY INDEX, DESPISED ICON, EX DEO) will once again helm the new record. The band is scheduled to enter JFD studio in Montreal and Dallas in June/July.

Celebrating ten years of clear-cut maliciousness through Greek mythology and unchecked riff savagery in 2013, Chicago trio LAIR OF THE MINOTAUR will storm back with a new EP this Spring.

While the members of LAIR OF THE MINOTAUR have been skulking around in the back-alleys of the underground over recent months, the band has been far from dormant. To commemorate a full decade of demolishing eardrums on record and on stage this year, the band will hammer their fanbase with a brand new EP for this year’s Record Store Day.

Entitled Godslayer, the new 7” release bears two new tracks, with the surge of Godslayer opening up, and the monolithic The Black Heart of the Stygian Drakonas on the B-side, both tracks mastered by Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer). A limited edition of 300 copies will be pressed as a 7”, in addition to the digital download through iTunes, Amazon MP3 and the like, and as with their latest album Evil Power will be released on their own The Grind-House Records with distribution from previous label home, Southern Lord, for Record Store Day this April 20th.

The good folks at DeathMetal.Org have taken a sledgehammer to the face of false metal by streaming a brand new track from the forthcoming album from REVEL IN FLESH. The song, entitled Dominate the Rotten,comes off the band’s forthcoming sophomore release, Manifested Darkness and is currently cracking skulls at http://deathmetal.org/.

Harnessing the momentum created by the album that Teeth of the Divine’s Erik Thomas called “the best of a recent impressive run of the style,” Manifested Darkness ups the ante and goes for the jugular. The album is sure to be considered one of 2013’s best classic Death Metal releases.

The CD and digital download will be unleashed on April 12th by FDA Rekotz and contains nine hammering new hymns of destruction plus one special bonus track exclusive to the CD version. The LP version will be out on April 26th and will include an additional bonus track. The artwork for Manifested Darkness was created by the Spanish artist Juanjo Castellano. The album was mixed and mastered at Unisound Studio by Dan Swanö.
