The buzz has been impossible to ignore, Dead Groove is redefining the rules of classic rock. Now, the breakout band is ready to bring their electrifying new sound on tour as the opening act for legendary Deep Purple bassist and vocalist Glenn Hughes on his highly anticipated 2026 U.S. tour.
Glenn Hughes and Dead Groove will launch the run on March 27th at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, CA, with shows stretching across the country before wrapping things up with a blowout finale at Oxnard Performing Arts Center, Oxnard, CA, on May 9. It’s not just a tour. It’s a statement: rock isn’t just alive, it’s evolving, and Dead Groove is leading the charge.
“The Chosen Years” promises to be a dynamic two-hour live experience, turning back the clocks to honor Glenn Hughes’ five-decade career. The setlist will span songs from TRAPEZE, DEEP PURPLE, HUGHES/THRALL, IOMMI/HUGHES, and BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION, plus material from Glenn’s latest solo album, Chosen.
Glenn says it best: “Looking forward to seeing you on my next tour, in spring 2026. A new show with good vibrations, to carry the message that ‘music is the healer’. I’ll see you down the front!”
And if that wasn’t enough, special guests will boost the energy even more: Gilby Clarke (of Guns N’ Roses fame) will perform on select dates, while cult favorites Enuff Z Nuff will join the lineup on others. For pure rock adrenaline, it doesn’t get much bigger or fresher than this.

This special release highlights Dead Groove’s upcoming track, a powerful collaboration with seven-time Grammy-nominated guitar legend Steve Morse (Deep Purple, Dixie Dregs, Kansas) and blues phenom Lance Lopez.
As an added bonus, the 7” will also feature an unreleased rare mix from the late, great Tommy Bolin—who was Glenn’s bandmate during his iconic Deep Purple Mk III era.
