ANTHRAX – TO RELEASE ‘CHILE ON HELL’ DVD ON THE 16TH OF SEPTEMBER

Get ready to mosh in the privacy of your own home, because multiple Grammy-nominated thrash masters ANTHRAX have announced the release of “Chile On Hell”, a live-in-concert DVD that is due on September 16th. “Chile On Hell” was filmed at the Teatro Caupolican in Santiago, Chile on May 10, 2013 and features ANTHRAX performing an extended set that featured songs from the band’s entire catalogue.

“Chile On Hell” will be available on DVD and Blu-ray and 2 Live CDs, was recorded in 5.1 Surround Sound, and will retail for $16.98.

“Santiago was the perfect place to film the show for this,” said ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante. “When we’d played there in the past, we’d finish our set, play our encore and go back to the dressing room. But every time, the fans would continue to scream and cheer and clap. I mean, they went on and on, they wouldn’t stop. One time Scott [Ian, guitar] and I walked out to the side of the stage just to watch what was going on in the audience, it was intense. Why wouldn’t we want to film a DVD in front of an audience like that?

“Plus,” Benante continued, “the time was right to do this DVD… We wanted to finish on a high note. We didn’t want to look back and regret that we didn’t record the live show.”

“Chile On Hell” was produced by Jay Ruston and filmed by City Drive Entertainment Group and DC3 Global. The DVD’s cover art was designed by Stephen Thompson, who partnered with Benante to “redesign” the artwork from last year’s “Anthems” EP.

HIDEOUS DIVINITY – Italian Death Legion Gets “Sinister And Demented” At Decibel Magazine; “Cobra Verde” Preorders Available

Italian Death Metal horde, HIDEOUS DIVINITY, who feature within their ranks former members of Hour Of Penance and Ghouls, is preparing to unleash Cobra Verde, their second full-length via Unique Leader next month.

Featuring nine hymns of hate and contempt, Cobra Verde was recorded at 16th Cellar Studios (House Of Penance, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Trifixion, Vomit The Soul et al), boasts a guest vocal appearances by Nile’s Dallas Toler-Wade, a crushing cover of Ripping Corpse’s “The Last And Only Son” and is a true must-have for devout followers of obscure and intense death metal a la Nile, Immolation with the lysergic influences of Ulcerate.

Born between Italy and Norway in late 2006 as a side project of Hour Of Penance founder Enrico Schettino, HIDEOUS DIVINITY immediately earned underground accolades thanks to their Sinful Star Necrolatry two-track demo, an intriguing mesh of European and American extremities released at the end of 2007. It wasn’t until 2010 that the band, with their first stable lineup, would perform live with longstanding comrades, Insision. In the interim, new songs were composed with their European Death/Black influences giving way to a more mindful, complex yet straight-in-your-face Death Metal assault in the vein of Nile, Immolation and Hate: the embryo of their first full-length release.

Following another successful appearance in Scandinavia at the end of April 2012, this time for the prestigious Inferno Festival in Oslo, Norway, a three-album deal with Unique Leader Records was forged. In late July 2011 the band entered 16th Cellar to record their Obeisance Rising debut. The lyrical concept is based on John Carpenter’s immortal masterstroke They Live, a dramatically relevant testimony of a dark era that never ended.

SINGLE BULLET THEORY – Embarking On To Hell Paso And Back Tour 2014; S/T Retrospective CD Released

SINGLE BULLET THEORY have announced their first return to Texas since 2005. The “To Hell Paso and Back Tour” launches in Levittown, PA on September 20 and moves through New York, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, and Oklahoma before invading Texas on September 30 in Fort Worth. Featuring former PISSING RAZORS guitarist Matt DiFabio, SINGLE BULLET THEORY is planning to perform a couple of Razor’s tunes as part the set. The band is touring in support of its recently released self-titled album, which is a retrospective look at some of its older material and includes remixes, remasters, and a few unreleased songs. SINGLE BULLET THEORY have also just completed new album Divine Ways of Chaos and is currently shopping it to record labels. The album was mastered by James Murphy (TESTAMENT, DEATH).

GOATWHORE – New Orleans’ Favorite Metal Legion Announces US Headlining Dates + Band To Support Samhain On Select Shows

New Orleans’ favorite metal legion, GOATWHORE, will embark upon another bout of live headlining invasions next month. Set to launch in Houston on September 15th, the band will trounce fourteen cities including five shows supporting Death Rock/Horror Punk legends, Samhain!

In November, GOATWHORE will bring their sadistic anthems overseas for a European incursion with headliners Dying Fetus. The extended trek embarks on November 8th in Liege, Belgium, and will march through nearly four dozen metropolises, coming to a close on December 20th in Leer, Germany.

GOATWHORE is currently touring in support of their mammoth Constricting Rage Of The Merciless full-length unleashed to the masses in July via Metal Blade Records. Crowned “the new high water mark of the group’s work thus far,” by Metal Injection, Constricting Rage Of The Merciless debuted at #81 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, toppling their last entry position of #171 with Blood For The Master. DISMEMBERMENT – To Reissue EP’s On Single Disc

Ohio’s DISMEMBERMENT are pleased to announce that they will be releasing a reissue of their EP’s The Condemned and Denied Salvation on a single compact disc.The reissue is slated to arrive this winter via Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.

Guitarist Jacob Shively had the following to say about the reissue:

“We get asked a lot when ‘The Condemned’ and ‘Denied Salvation’ will be available on CD again. Well the time is finally here as HPGD Productions will be releasing both long out of print EPs compiled onto 1 disc with new artwork and packaging. Look for these this winter.”

Indiana Stoner/Sludge Rockers YELLOWTOOTH Entering Studio To Record Sophomore Album

Michigan City, Indiana’s own Sludge/Stoner band YELLOWTOOTH is preparing to hit the studio in September to record Crushed By The Wheels of Progress, the follow-up to the band’s 2012 debut album Disgust.

The album will be released through Orchestrated Misery Recordings. The band has eight songs ready to be sent into the audio stratosphere. Song titles include “Before I Return to Dust,” “The Spiral Stairs,” “Meet Mr. Mossberg,” “Climbing the Mountain,” “Manifesto,” and “Season’s End.”

Guitarist/vocalist Henry McGinnis commented on the new material:

“We haven’t really changed our writing style since the debut came out, but refined it a bit to suit our needs. Having been together since 2008 it’s just a natural progression of who we are. The songs are still very heavy, and some parts still have the southern flair we have grown to enjoy since the beginning.”

YELLOWTOOTH is also gearing up for several shows this fall in the Chicagoland area with label-mates PSYCHOMANCER.

GWAR To Embark Upon The “GWAR Eternal Tour 2014”

Oderus is missing. Once the Scumdogs in GWAR finally notice this (it takes them a while to notice stuff) they will set off on a journey to find their departed brother using every resource available – including recruiting an ancient Scumdog warrior. GWAR will need the help from everyone, even the lowliest Bohab, as their enemies are plotting to take advantage of the hole in GWAR’s ranks.

“Dark clouds of war and ill omen have gathered around GWAR. In our hour of greatest peril, Oderus has left us and our enemies stand poised, ready to strike while they sense weakness. But we shall no longer cower in our Antarctic stronghold, awaiting Destiny’s final blow. This Fall GWAR sets out on the most trying quest of our career. We shall scour our leader’s favorite stomping ground, North America, leaving no city unsearched, no venue unraised, and no sheep unmolested. GWAR will venture to the depths of Hell or to the very end of Time itself, and though I fear what we may encounter out there, I know that we can never return home until we have the answer we seek: ‘Where is Oderus Urungus?’”

GWAR fans have been mourning the loss of Dave Brockie, GWAR’s founder and lead singer, since March. The “GWAR Eternal Tour 2014” gives them an opportunity to gather and share a bunch of feels as a community while experiencing the sickest band in this or any other world.

Jamison Land, Beefcake the Mighty’s personal slave and bass tech:

“Dave was our friend and anchor for as far back as anyone can remember. He’s held us together, and sometimes he drove us apart. He is our brother and we love him. Unlike a lot of prominent musicians, he was friends with all of the fans. He made GWAR fans feel special on a personal level. The fans love Dave as much as we do and ‘The GWAR Eternal Tour 2014’ is our way of getting together and sharing that love.”

The first leg of the tour will include direct support from Decapitated; the second leg will have direct support from Corrosion of Conformity. American Sharks will open all shows. The tour kicks off October 15th in Norfolk, VA and runs through December 13th in Baltimore, MD. A complete list of dates can be found below. Tickets go on sale this weekend.
