On This Day In METAL History – November 12th – From “Creepshow” To Queen

On November 12th, 1976 – Queen released Somebody to Love, the first single off of their fifth studio album: A Day at the Races. The song would reach #2 on the U.K. Singles Chart and #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart in America. Above photo: cover sleeve artwork for the 7″ single/45 rpm.

On this day in 1977 – With their debut album Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols, The Sex Pistols reached #1 on the U.K. Albums Chart for the first and only time. As the only studio album ever released by this legendary band, its influence on Heavy Metal became evident in later years, with Motörhead and Anthrax covering God Save The Queen and Megadeth covering Anarchy In The UK.

On November 12th, 1982 – The Horror/Dark Comedy film, Creepshow, was released in U.S. theaters. With a brilliant screenplay by Stephen King and legendary directing from George A. Romero, Creepshow has earned status as a timeless Horror classic, in my Metal opinion. Creepshow consists of five short stories; each a gem in their own right.

Creepshow featured some famously talented actors of the day: Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Fritz Weaver, (the late) Leslie Nielsen, (the late) Carrie Nye, (the late) E. G. Marshall and of course, Ted Danson of Cheers fame. Stephen King is also the only actor, in one of the five short stories: The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill. Trust me, Stephen King puts on a grand performance, giving his Jordy Verrill character both a hilarious and somber persona. I highly recommend Creepshow to all who love Horror and Dark Comedy.

Man, I remember going to the theater to see this film with a cool Metal buddy named Jaime, back in 1982; our walk back home was at night, thus we were spooked pretty damn good! I just rented Creepshow a couple of weeks ago and watched it with my wife and daughter; it was their first time watching this movie and they were super-spooked by it all! Good times. Creepshow is… Metal!

On this day in KISSTORY – November 12th, 2014 – KISS Rocks Vegas Show #4 is tonight, at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Metal be thy name!

DAVID ELLEFSON

Born on November 12th, 1964 was David Ellefson. Happy Rockin’ Birthday, David! Hell-yeah and whoa! David Ellefson is the world-famous bassist and co-founding member for the legendary Megadeth. David Ellefson also played bass on the 2004 Soulfly album: Prophecy. David also released his autobiography, My Life With Deth, on October 29th, 2013.

On this day in KISSTORY – November 11th, 1976 – KISS released their fifth studio album: Rock And Roll Over. This legendary album features the memorable KISS classics: Hard Luck Woman, Calling Dr. Love, I Want You and Makin’ Love. The album cover artwork was created by the prominent artist Michael Doret.

On November 11th, 1977 – As a tribute to Elvis Presley, Slade’s Rock medley of Elvis Presley covers, My Baby Left Me/But That’s All Right Mama, peaks at #32 in the United Kingdom. This release was a 7″, single, 45 RPM.

On this day in 1988 – The Christmas comedy film, Ernest Saves Christmas, was released to theaters. Jim Varney played the lovable super-nerd and film franchise star: Ernest P. Worrell. This film was directed by John R. Cherry III. Sadly, Jim Varney passed away at the young age of 50, in February of 2000. The Ernest character and Jim Varney were… Metal. Rest in peace, Jim Varney.

On this day in 1997 – The mighty Metallica performed a free concert at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11th, 1997, in the CoreStates complex parking lot, in South Philadelphia. In celebration of the release of their seventh studio album Reload, Metallica had promised a free concert to any major city with an available venue. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is… Metal.

On November 11th, 2014 – Forest Of The Living Dead is released on DVD. This Horror flick stars Michael Madsen, Johnny Young and Aiden Bristow. The living dead are always… Metal.

On November 10th, 1977 – New York City’s RIOT releases their debut studio album: Rock City.

On this day in 1983 – Billy Idol released his second solo studio album, Rebel Yell. This album went on to reach number six on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, selling two million (plus) copies in the United States. With a host of other musicians appearing on Rebel Yell, Steve Stevens played guitar, keyboards and bass on this album.

On November 10th, 1984 – Canada’s Triumph released their seventh studio album: Thunder Seven. This album was released via MCA and would eventually be certified Gold in the U.S., by the RIAA. This album features the FM radio favorites: Follow Your Heart, Spellbound and Killing Time.

On this day in 1986 – Brazil’s Sepultura released their debut studio album: Morbid Visions. The original Sepultura band lineup was: Max Cavalera (vocals & rhythm guitar), Igor Cavalera (drums, percussion), Paulo Jr. (bass guitar) and Jairo Guedez (lead guitar).

On November 10th, 1992 – Brooklyn’s legendary Biohazard releases their second studio album: Urban Discipline via Roadrunner Records.

On November 10th, 1972, DJ Ashba was born. Happy Rockin’ Birthday, DJ! Whoa and hell yeah! DJ Ashba is a world-renowned guitarist for both SIXX:A.M. and Guns N’ Roses. DJ Ashba is also highly regarded as a grammy nominated and platinum recording artist, along with being the CEO of Ashba Media.

On November 9th, 1968 – Cream peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with their hit White Room. This was Cream’s second and final top ten single in the United States. This iconic song originally was featured on Cream’s 1968 double album: Wheels Of Fire.

On this day in 1974 – Bachman-Turner Overdrive hits #1 with their single You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet. The B-side to this single was Free Wheelin. You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet is featured on BTO’s third studio album: Not Fragile. Long live Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada!

On November 9th, 1974 – Jethro Tull hits #2 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart in the United States with their seventh studio album: War Child.

On this day in 1979 – Iron Maiden releases their debut EP: The Soundhouse Tapes via Rock Hard Records. The three demo songs offered on this historic recording are: Side A: Iron Maiden and Side B: Invasion and Prowler. Of course, the lead vocalist on this EP is Paul Di’Anno. Yes, this is an Iron Maiden collector’s item.

On November 9th, 1985 – Long Way To Heaven, the fifth studio album from the Canadian Heavy Metal Band, Helix, is released. This Helix album features the hits: Deep Cuts The Knife and The Kids Are All Shakin’.

On this day in 1996 – Van Halen’s first compilation album, Best of Volume I, becomes their fifth album to reach the top of the Billboard 200 Album Chart. This album spends one week at number one. Best Of Volume I goes on to sell three million copies in the United States.

Best Of Volume I features the song Humans Being, with Sammy Hagar on vocals, from the Twister movie soundtrack. The two newly recorded songs, Can’t Get This Stuff No More and Me Wise Magic, appear at the end of this album and features original lead vocalist David Lee Roth.

CHRIS JERICHO

On November 9th, 1970, Chris Jericho was born. Happy Birthday, Chris! Whoa, yeah! Chris Jericho is currently signed to the WWE and has won more WWF/WWE championship belts than even I can keep track of. An undisputed world heavyweight champion, best-selling author, actor, media personality, musician and vocalist is Chris Jericho. (Phew).

On November 8th, 1976 – Rush’s double live album All the World’s a Stage, reaches #40 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart in the United States.

On this day in 1980 -AC/DC hits #35 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with their hit You Shook Me All Night Long. This song is featured on their multi-million selling studio album Back In Black, released in 1980.

On November 8th, 1986 – Boston hits #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their hit power ballad Amanda. This song is featured on Boston’s multi-million selling and third studio album: Third Stage.

On this day in 1986 – Triumph hits #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their hit Somebody’s Out There. This song is featured on the eighth studio album from Triumph, The Sport Of Kings, released in 1986.

On November 8th, 1989 – The mighty Iron Maiden released their live video (VHS) Maiden England. This classic live video of Iron Maiden was recorded in 1988, during their Seventh Tour Of A Seventh Tour. Of course, that historic tour had Iron Maiden promoting their Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son studio album.

On this day in 2008 – AC/DC reached #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart for the first time in 27 years with Black Ice. This album began a two-week stay at number one. The cover art/design for Black Ice was created and drawn by Joshua Marc Levy.

On This Day In METAL History – November 7th…

1981 – The super legendary Ozzy Osbourne hits #14 in the UK with his second solo studio album Diary of a Madman. Sadly, this is the last studio album to feature the amazing Randy Rhoads, due to his passing in March of 1982 at the very young age of 25. Although not credited, bassist Bob Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake were the true rhythm section that played on this entire album’s original release.

1991 – Rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin quit Guns N’ Roses and was replaced by guitarist Gilby Clarke. Izzy Stradlin was a co-founder of Guns N’ Roses and continued onward with a successful solo recording career, amassing eleven studio albums to date.

1995 – Made in Heaven, the fifteenth and last studio album of original material from Queen, featuring the iconic vocalist Freddie Mercury, releases four years after his passing away. Made In Heaven reached #1 on the UK albums chart and peaked at #58 on the U.S. Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

1995 – Pearl Jam ended their tour in support of their third studio album Vitalogy, in the second of a two night sold out performance at the San Diego Sports Arena. The legendary Ramones opened both concerts.

1998 – Black Sabbath entered the Billboard 200 Album Chart at #11 with their live double album Reunion. This album was recorded during two concerts at the National Exhibition Centre Arena, in their hometown of Birmingham, UK. Reunion went on to become certified Platinum, by the RIAA, in the United States. All four original members of Black Sabbath had reunited: vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward.

2008 – The performance of Def Leppard & Taylor Swift together on CMT Crossroads premiered. This episode showed these artists performing four of Taylor Swift’s songs and four Def Leppard classics. Metal be thy name.

TOMMY THAYER

On November 7th, 1960, Tommy Thayer was born in Portland, Oregon. Happy Birthday, Tommy! Tommy Thayer is famously known as a former guitarist for Black N’ Blue and current/longtime guitarist/songwriter for the legendary KISS. As a former co-founding member of Black ‘N Blue, he also co-wrote their songs. Above photo is the Tommy Thayer cover feature for the German issue of Guitar Magazine (May 15, 2008).

ROB CAGGIANO

On November 7th, 1976, Rob Caggiano was born, in the Bronx, New York. Happy Birthday, Rob! Hell yeah! Rob is a musician and producer, famously known as a former guitarist for Anthrax and current guitarist for Volbeat. Rob was also a member of the Hard Rock supergroup: The Damned Things. On This Day In METAL History – November 6th…

On November 6th, 1971 – Sweet releases their debut album, Funny How Sweet Co-Co Can Be. The original band lineup was: Brian Connolly on lead vocals, Andy Scott on guitar/vocals, Steve Priest on bass/vocals and Mick Tucker on drums/vocals.

On this day in 1972 – Deep Purple, at the time named the loudest band by The Guinness Book of World Records, receives a gold album for (their sixth studio album) Machine Head.

On November 6th, 1976 – Blue Öyster Cult hits #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their single (Don’t Fear) the Reaper. This hit is featured on their fourth studio album, released in 1976: Agents Of Fortune.

On this day in 1976 – Seattle Washington’s very own Heart hits #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their hit Magic Man. This song is featured on the 1976 debut studio album from Heart: Dreamboat Annie. Heart was inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2013.

On this day in KISSTORY – November 6th, 2014 – KISS will be performing for the second time at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, as part of their November residency.

PAUL GILBERT

On November 6th, 1966, Paul Gilbert was born. Happy Birthday, Paul! Man, whoa! Paul Gilbert is famously known as a cofounding member and guitarist of Mr. Big. Paul was also a co-founder and guitarist for Racer X. Paul also boasts a vast and successful catalog of solo albums. Paul’s thirteenth solo studio album, Stone Pushing Uphill Man, was released on August 5th, 2014, via Shrapnel Records.

COREY GLOVER

On November 6th, 1964, Corey Glover was born in Brooklyn, New York. Happy Birthday, Corey! Who, yeah! Corey Glover is most famously known as the lead vocalist and co-songwriter for Living Colour. Corey also has had a successful solo calling, releasing 1998’s Hymns via LaFace Records. (see above pic).

Corey is also an actor; he portrayed Private Francis in the 1986 Oliver Stone film classic: Platoon.

On November 5th, 1970 – Led Zeppelin released their single Immigrant Song. This iconic song would later reach #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Immigrant Song is featured on the band’s third studio album, 1970’s Led Zeppelin III.

On this day in 1983 – Def Leppard hits #28 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with Foolin’. This hit is featured on the third studio album from Def Leppard: Pyromania. This album was released in 1983 and has since sold over ten million copies, earning Diamond certification from the RIAA.

On November 5th, 1995 – Van Halen ended their tour in support of their tenth studio album, Balance, at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii. This would be the last Van Halen concert with the dynamic Sammy Hagar, until their reunion tour in 2004.

On this day in 1999 – It was announced that Gary Cherone was no longer the singer for Van Halen, after recording just one album with the band: 1998’s Van Halen III.

PINK VELVET KRUSH – Issue Album Release Details

On This Day In METAL History – November 4th…

On November 4th, 1981 – The legendary Black Sabbath released their tenth studio album: Mob Rules. This marked the second studio album with lead singer Ronnie James Dio. Mob Rules was the first Black Sabbath album with Vinny Appice on drums, replacing Bill Ward.

On this day in 1984 – The UK’s Hawkwind released their live album: This Is Hawkwind, Do Not Panic. This live release contained a 12″ full LP and a 12″ EP.

On November 4th, 1985 – Hawkwind releases their fourteenth studio album: The Chronicle of the Black Sword.

On this day in 1989 – Aerosmith peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart with Pump. This was their second top ten album in the United States. Aerosmith went on to sell seven million copies of Pump, in the United States.

JEFF SCOTT SOTO

Born on November 4th, 1965, in Brooklyn, New York was Jeff Scott Soto. Happy Birthday, Jeff! Alright! Jeff Scott Soto is a lead vocalist, musician, songwriter and lyricist. Besides his successful solo music career, Jeff’s extensive and impressive resume boasts many prominent artists and/or bands he has sung for: Yngwie Malmsteen, Journey, Axel Rudi Pell, Talisman, W.E.T., Takara and Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

TROY MCLAWHORN

J.RAD – This seasoned and accomplished Hard Rock band originates from North Babylon, New York and what a hell of a band! The Hard Rock identity of sound that J.RAD plays I’ve found to be contagious and it’s my Metal duty to spread the Metal word! The new J.RAD studio album, Sick Fantasy, has elevated my love for guitar driven, heavy hittin’ and memorable American made Hard Rock! This album is so good that it’s one of the best Hard Rock albums I’ve listened to this year; with no pretentious bullshit to be heard, just pure 100% quality songs! Hard Rock hallelujah!

Lead vocalist Gino Rudolph has a tremendous voice, in my Metal opinion; he sings each song with such powerful conviction and emotion that I find it irresistible to applaud. In my Metal opinion, Gino can stand aside the best of vocalists in the Modern Hard Rock scene today, seriously, I find him that talented and fun to listen to. Drummer Mo Sticky is an obvious talent and flawlessly lays down the beats that send each song into their respective Hard Rock grandeur.

Guitarist Jared Cannata is so damn impressive with his fret work, this guy can freaking shred! Jared lays down so many crunchy, fun-tastic riffs and solos that It’s easy to lose count of them all. My ears have informed me loud and clear that Jared Cannata can sonically dazzle with his axe. Whoa! With this level of musical talent impactful songs, Sick Fantasy is a non-stop ride through Hard Rock la-la land and I couldn’t be more honest than that judgement! This may all sound too good to be true, only it’s TRUE. Stone would never pump up an album unless it’s psyche-out city and this is exactly that, man!

The bassist keeping the rhythmic thunder rolling on this Sick Fantasy album you’ll hear is Russ Zutto and he’s since left the band on amicable terms. Therefore, it looks like J.RAD is searching for a new bassist to join their powerful band. The softest number on this album is Push and even this song Rocks. Overall, there is a sinister and bleak theme to this album lyrically; yet the up-tempo rhythm and melodies of the songs are what elevates my mood!

This album is for fans of Sevendust, Adelitas Way, CAVO, Cold, Pop Evil to FFDP and all in-between! Hard Rock and Metal fans alike can surely find something sonically cool about J.RAD. Man, this Sick Fantasy album has me elated and that’s what great albums and bands are supposed to do for me… or anyone else for that matter. Metal be thy name – Stone.

On This Day In METAL History – November 3rd…

On November 3rd, 1984 – The super-legendary Iron Maiden were in the midst of their World Slavery Tour, promoting their fifth studio album: Powerlsave. On November 3rd, 1984, Iron Maiden performed in Gothenburg, Sweden, at the Scandinavium. Iron Maiden’s special guest was none other than… Mötley Crüe.

On this day in 1985 – The reunited Aerosmith releases their eighth studio album, Done With Mirrors, the first of four studio albums for their new record label, Geffen Records. Ted Templeman produced this album and it peaked at #36 on The Billboard 200 in 1985.

On November 3rd, 1990 – Warrant hits #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with Cherry Pie. The second studio album from Warrant, Cherry Pie would peak at #7 on The Billboard 200 Albums Chart in 1990. Cherry Pie was produced by Beau Hill and features the late Jani Lane on lead vocals.

On this day in 1991 – Pandora’s Box, a 3 CD box set retrospective of Aerosmith’s years (1973-1982) was released on Columbia Records.

On November 3rd, 1992 – The fifth studio album by Bon Jovi, Keep The Faith, was released via Mercury Records.

On this day in 2003 – Aerosmith appeared with Hank Williams Jr. to perform All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight, live on Monday Night Football.

On November 3rd, 1973, Mick Thomson was born in Iowa. Happy Birthday, Mick! Whoa, yeah! Mick Thomson, aka Number Seven, is a co-founding member and guitarist of the ferocious Slipknot. Slipknot’s fifth studio album, .5: The Gray Chapter, was released on October 21st, 2014, via RoadRunner Records and has already reached #1 on The Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

On November 2nd, 1974 – Bad Company hits #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart, with their single Can’t Get Enough. This hit song is featured on their 1974 self-titled debut album.

On this day in 1980 – The third live album from singer/guitarist Rory Gallagher was released: Stage Struck.

On November 2nd, 1982 – The fifth studio album, Long After Dark, from Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers is released. This terrific album includes the hit singles: You Got Lucky and Change Of Heart.

On this day in 1985 – Loverboy peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with Lovin’ Every Minute of It. This hit was Loverboy’s first top ten single in the United States and is the title track on their fourth studio album, released in 1985.

On November 2nd, 1998 – The Rolling Stones released their live album: No Security. This album was recorded during the 1997-1998 Bridges To Babylon Tour.

On this day in 2005 – Swedish Heavy Rockers Hardcore Superstar released their fifth studio album: Hardcore Superstar, via Gain/Sony.

On November 1st, 1971 – Alice Cooper released their fourth studio album, Killer, which went on to reach #21 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. Killer eventually was certified Platinum in the United States by the RIAA.

On this day in 1979 – Aerosmith releases their sixth studio album: Night In The Ruts via Columbia Records. The most famous song from this album was the hit: Remember (Walking In The Sand).

On November 1st, 1986 – Boston reached the very top of the Billboard 200 Album Chart for the second time with their third studio album, Third Stage, which spent four weeks at number one. Third Stage was certified 4x Platinum in the United States by the RIAA. The power ballad Amanda, featured on Third Stage, reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, in 1986. Third Stage boasts two other songs that reached the top 20: We’re Ready at #9 and Can’tcha Say (You Believe In Me)/Still In Love at #20.

On this day in 1988 – The first single from Nirvana, Love Buzz”/”Big Cheese, appears on Sub Pop Singles Club.

On November 1st, 1991 – The second studio album from America’s ICED EARTH was released in Europe: Night Of The Stormrider. This fabulous album was later released in the U.S. on April 30th, 1992.

On this day in 1994 – A greatest hits compilation titled, Big Ones was released by Aerosmith, via Geffen Records. Two previously unreleased songs are featured on this compilation: Walk On Water and Blind Man. The other hits on Big Ones spans Aerosmith’s albums from 1987 to 1993.

On November 1st, 1994 – Nirvana – MTV Unplugged In New York is released. This album is a live acoustic performance, which was taped at Sony Music Studios in New York City, on November 18th, 1993.

On November 1st, 1962, Anthony Kiedis was born. Happy Birthday, Anthony! Whoa, man! Anthony Kiedis is the lead singer for Red Hot Chili Peppers. Red Hot Chili Peppers were inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, back in 2012 and presented by Chris Rock. On October 30th, 1982 –RUSH peaks at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with their single: New World Man. This hit is featured on the ninth studio album from RUSH, released in 1982 titled: Signals.

On this day in 1985 – MTV premieres the music video “Sun City” by Artists United Against Apartheid. Artists United Against Apartheid was a protest group of world-famous musicians, founded by activist and guitarist Steven Van Zandt, aka Little Steven, along with record producer Arthur Baker. The mission was to protest apartheid in South Africa.

On October 30th, 1988 – Bon Jovi kicked off their Jersey Syndicate Tour in support of their fourth studio album: New Jersey. The tour lasted 16 months. Bon Jovi then took a two-year hiatus after the end of this tour. Shown above is a tour program for the Jersey Syndicate Tour.

On this day in 1998 – The legendary Black Sabbath appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman. It was the band’s first appearance on U.S. television since 1976.

On this day in KISSTORY, 1998 – KISS appeared on the television show Millennium, both with and without their trademark makeup.

On October 30th, 2012 – The third studio album from Flyleaf was released on A&M/Octone Records, titled: New Horizons. Originating from Texas, Flyleaf has been recording their style of Alternative Metal since 2005.

On October 30th, 2013 – The paranormal movie, Skinwalker Ranch was released. This film is based on true events and was rated R. In other words, this is a scary movie to watch for Halloween! Whoa.

On October 30th, 1939, Grace Victoria Wing, aka Grace Slick was born in Chicago, Illinois. Happy Birthday, Grace! Grace Slick is world-famous as the former vocalist for Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Starship, The Great Society and as a solo artist. During her post music years, Grace Slick has found fame again as an artist in the visual/fine arts.

On October 28th, 1978 – The legendary Alice Cooper made a guest appearance on The Muppet Show. Alice Cooper performed the classics: Welcome to my Nightmare, You and Me and School’s Out.

On this day in 1978 – The mighty Queen kicked off a tour in support of their seventh studio album Jazz, at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Jazz was released back in November of 1978.

On this day in KISSTORY – October 28th, 1978 – KISS Meets The Phantom of the Park airs as the NBC Movie Of The Week.

On October 28th, 1989 – Aerosmith hits and peaks at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, with their hit Love In An Elevator. This cool song is featured on Aerosmith’s tenth studio album Pump, released in September of 1989.

On this day in 1989 – Mötley Crüe hits and peaks at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100, with their single Dr. Feelgood. This memorable song is the title track featured on the Dr. Feelgood studio album, released in September of 1989.

On this day in KISSTORY – October 28, 1997 – KISS released their 17th studio album, Carnival of Souls.

On October 28th, 2003 – At a Pearl Jam concert in Santa Barbara, California, vocalist Chris Cornell of Soundgarden joined the band onstage for an unexpected reunion of the supergroup Temple of the Dog. Hunger Strike and Reach Down were the two songs performed from the 1991 Temple Of The Dog studio album.

On this day in KISSTORY – October 28th, 2014 – KISS Love Gun (Deluxe Edition) is released. It is the original album/newly remastered; plus 11 rare and unreleased demos and live tracks. Metal be thy name!

On October 25th, 1975 – Sweet hits #25 in the U.S. with their third studio album: Desolation Boulevard. This album classic features the hit single Fox On The Run. The U.S. album version also includes the hit: The Ballroom Blitz.

On this day in 1986 – Bon Jovi’s third studio album, Slippery When Wet, reached the top of the Billboard 200 Album Chart for the first of seven (non-consecutive) weeks. It was also Bon Jovi’s first number one album.

On October 25th, 2003 – At a KISS/Aerosmith concert in Las Vegas, Nevada, Steven Tyler’s daughter Mia married Dave Buckner, the drummer for Papa Roach. The couple eventually divorced in 2005.

On this day in 2006 – The great Ronnie James Dio made the announcement that he would be reuniting with his former Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward as Heaven & Hell for a 2007 world tour. Vinny Appice would later replace Bill Ward on drums.

On this day in KISSTORY, October 25th, 2014 – KISS is headlining the Heaven & Hell Metal Fest, in Mexico City, Mexico.

GLENN TIPTON

Born on October 25th, 1948 was Glenn Tipton. Happy Birthday, Glenn! Hell and yeah! Glenn Tipton is the super legendary guitarist and longtime member of the super-duper legendary: Judas Priest. A true Heavy Metal pioneer and influence is Glenn Tipton!

Glenn Tipton has also recorded two successful solo albums. On March 7, 2006, Rhino Records released a new version of his 1997 Atlantic Records album Baptizm Of Fire along with the Tipton, Enwistle and Powell album Edge Of The World. This album includes previously unreleased recordings with the late drummer Cozy Powell and bassist John Entwistle.

MATTHIAS JABS

Born on October 25th, 1955 was Matthias Jabs. Happy Birthday, Matthias! Whoa! Matthias Jabs is famously known as being a longtime rhythm and lead guitarist for Scorpions. Matthias lives in Hannover, Germany and lists as his favorite food being: Italian. Matthias also lists his favorite sports as being: tennis and soccer. CHAD SMITH

Born on October 25th, 1961 was Chad Smith. Happy Birthday, Chad! Yeah! Chad Smith is famously known as the drummer for Red Hot Chili Peppers. Chad Smith is also the drummer for Chickenfoot, a supergroup that also features Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani. Red Hot Chili Peppers were inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2012 and presented by Chris Rock.
