New York Death Metal veterans SUFFOCATION have unveiled the track listing for their highly anticipated upcoming release, Pinnacle of Bedlam. The album features 10 genre-defining-bone-crushing tracks and also marks the return of drummer Dave Culross, who played with the band previously on their Despise The Sun EP. Founding member and former drummer Mike Smith also makes a special guest appearance on the re-recorded Breeding the Spawn track, Beginning of Sorrow.

Cover artwork for Pinnacle of Bedlam was created by artist Raymond Swanland (DEEDS OF FLESH, PSYCROPTIC).

Pinnacle of Bedlam will be released February 15, 2013 via Nuclear Blast.

EXHUMED – Announces Additional Year-End Tour Dates; Takes Scenic Route Home

Thanks to vehicular issues en route home from their mammoth tour alongside Napalm Death and Municipal Waste, California roadburners EXHUMED have booked an additional week’s worth of headlining live rituals set to commence this Friday in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Elaborates vocalist/guitarist Matt Harvey: “Since our van decided to blow up and we’re stuck in Alabama for a week, we figured we had time to book some fill-in shows for our longer-than-expected ride home. So come on out and rage with us — last chance in 2012! We look forward to making the most out of this opportunity to melt your faces one last time before we fuck off and get ready for 2013.”

EXHUMED recently completed recording the follow-up to 2011’s All Guts, No Glory full-length. Titled Necrocracy, the offering was recorded at Arcane Digital Recording in Chandler, Arizona with Ryan Butler (Misery Index, Landmine Marathon, Phobia). All drums were tracked at Trench Studios in Corona, California with John Haddad (Hirax, Abysmal Dawn, Intronaut). Necrocracy will be unleashed by Relapse Records sometime next Spring.

A Rock N’ METAL Thanksgiving – It’s Thanksgiving Day here in the U.S. and I’m thankful as always for my family, friends, Metal Buddies, faith, country and the freedom I’ve grown so accustomed to since being alive. I’m thankful for our U.S. troops that protect us here at home and abroad. The Rock N’ Metal that inspires me each and every day, I am absolutely giving thanks for as well. (See below!)

I’m giving thanks for this clear Metal fact: I’ll be catching up with Best Metal Buddy Scott Coverdale this Thanksgiving weekend… over a couple of cold brews and plates of wings as we discuss… Metal and NFL news.

Now, let’s begin: A Rock N’ METAL Thanksgiving – What I’m Thankful For!

I am thankful for ALL the pioneers of Heavy Metal, aka, Metal. I give Metal thanks to the 1969 debut/ST from Led Zeppelin, with the 1970 debut/ST album from Black Sabbath to follow. I am also thankful for 1974’s KISS debut/ST (see at top of post). Moving forward to 1979’s No Mean City from Nazareth and every other seminal and not so famous Heavy Rock album from those building block years of Metal – I declare my Metal thanks!

AC/DC… WHOA!

From Saxon to Iron Maiden and from Motörhead to Diamond Head, I give Metal thanks. Believe me, if I could list every single band and musician that has psyched-me-out throughout my Metal lovin’ life, I would!

I am thankful for ALL the pre-Heavy Metal history; a Rock and Roll and Classic Rock History that includes all the pioneering bands and musicians that paved the path for Hard Rock and Metal.

Decibel Magazine Streaming New INCANTATION Album “Vanquish In Vengeance” In Full

Eagle Rock imprint Armoury Records, in conjunction with Hamburg, Germany-based earMUSIC, are pleased to announce the official signing of Swedish Metal troupe, THE RESISTANCE. Featuring within its ranks some of Sweden’s most esteemed musicians, THE RESISTANCE includes In Flames’ founder (and main songwriter until his departure in 2010)  Jesper Strömblad on guitar alongside second guitarist Glenn Ljungström (ex-In Flames, ex-Dimension Zero), vocalist Marco Aro (ex-The Haunted, Facedown) and drummer Chris Barkensjö (Carnal Forge, ex-Kaamos, ex-Repugnant etc.).

THE RESISTANCE will make its musical debut in the form of the four-track Rise From Treason EP, set for North American release on January 29, 2013 with a full length to follow later in the year. The EP will be released as a digital download and limited edition 7″ vinyl.

AEON – Issue New In-Studio Video Update

Today, the second in a series of studio clips from AEON’s blazing Aeons Black recording session has been posted to the band’s Official Landing Page. Sneak a peek at drummer Arttu Mallki punishing his kit for what would become the gargantuan Aeons Black full-length.

Already called “one of the best death metal albums of 2012” in a 4/5 review from Revolver Magazine, Aeons Black is set for release in North America on November 20, 2012 through Metal Blade Records. Aeons Black was recorded at Empire Studio in Östersund, Sweden, engineered, mixed and mastered by Ronnie Björnström at Garageland Studios and features striking cover art by Kristian “Necrolord” Wåhlin (Bathory, At The Gates, Dissection, Emperor, et al).

In related news, Metal Hammer Germany recently premiered the record’s opening track Still They Pray. If you missed it, feel the wrath HERE. Additionally, you can check out the title track and pre-order info HERE.

Aeons Black is the follow-up to 2010’s Path of Fire, which About.com called “a juicy slab of prime-cut blasphemous death metal,” that, according to Ultimate-Guitar.com, ”doesn’t let up in terms of insanely fast tempos, chugging guitars, and demonic vocals,” landing the album an 8 out of 10 score. AEON is already confirmed for a UK tour which will take place in January 2013 with more dates for Europe and North America in the works. Lvcifyre – Blackened Death Metal Legion Signs To Dark Descent Records

Dark Descent Records has recently inked (in blood) a deal with London blackened Death Metal band Lvcifyre for the release of their as-of-yet-untitled sophomore full-length, which is due out in early 2013. The band commented:

KOSHER METAL – Brings The Heavy With Another Compilation! Free Download Of Compilation Available Now!

Southern California-based online Metal radio station Kosher Metal have released the third volume of their digital compilation series called “The Kosher Komp Vol. 3” via their website at http://koshermetal.com/kosher-komp

The compilation (along with Vol. 1 & 2) is available for free download and contains 14 unsigned and independent bands including a special appearance by Sylosis, courtesy of Nuclear Blast Records. A liner note PDF is included along with the compilation artwork. Bands on the compilation are (in alphabetical order): A Band of Orcs, Acaro, Afterlife, Bloody Symphony, Cessation of Life, Cirka:sik, Dali Van Gogh, Fierce Allegience, Flesh Engine, Hemoptysis, Mudface, Skarthia, Sylosis, and Tyrants Blood.

INCANTATION – Reveal Artwork And Track Listing For: Vanquish in Vengeance

US Death Metal pioneers INCANTATION have revealed the cover art and track listing for their anticipated new album, Vanquish in Vengeance.

The long-awaited followup to 2006’s Primordial Domination, Vanquish in Vengeance carries a recurring lyrical theme that addresses the countless acts of genocide in the name of religion throughout our history.

Guitarist/vocalist John McEntee comments:

“The title track is about the massacre of Saxons in the town of Verdun in 782, called on by order of King Charlemagne. As an album title it has a different meaning to me. Vanquish in Vengeance symbolizes the long history of the band. We have fought many battles over the years to keep things going. We have always stayed true to our original vision and have never caved into trends. After a long wait between albums we are back with a vengeance with some of our darkest and heaviest material to date.”

Vanquish in Vengeance was recorded at Mars Studio with Bill Korecky and mixed by Dan Swano at Unisound Studios.
