Milwaukee thrash metal powerhouse, BRAY ROAD returns with “Wasted Mutiny“, the second single from their highly anticipated (currently untitled) upcoming album.
A follow-up to 2024’s “Burn”, this new song brings the aggression to a new level, fusing death-laden brutality, hardcore urgency, and the undeniable groove of classic thrash. Raw and relentless, “Wasted Mutiny” is a pummeling, in-your-face anthem of resistance and rebellion.
“Lyrically, the song delivers a defiant message: reject the manipulation of a broken political system and reclaim your autonomy,” comments the band. “It’s a battle cry for free thinkers and a warning to those who blindly follow.”
Ghost Cult Magazine presents the exclusive premiere of the lyric video for “Wasted Mutiny.” Watch the video at this location.
The band will appear at two US festivals this summer, the NYDM Annual in West Chicago, IL, and the Blades of Steel Metalfest in Madison, WI. Dates as details are as follows:
August 8 – 9: NYDM Annual @ WC Social Club – West Chicago, IL
Bray Road: Nino Anthony – Vocals/Guitars Peter Kissane – Drums David Moran – Bass
BRAY ROAD derives its name from an actual road in Elkhorn, WI, where the popular cryptozoological werewolf-like creature, the Beast of Bray Road, is said to stalk the area.
The band’s debut full-length recording (recorded in 2015 via Cavern Entertainment), Feast Upon the Helpless, was released in the Spring of 2017.
BRAY ROAD’s follow-up 5-song E.P. entitled Formation was released in early 2019 and highlighted the band’s direction, featuring a more aggressive and heavy approach across the board, while still maintaining the Thrash / Groove Metal elements that complemented the BRAY ROAD sonic landscape.
BRAY ROAD‘s latest release “Focused.Fierce.Relentless…” 2023, highlights the band’s current musical direction.
BRAY ROAD has shared the stage with and opened for International touring acts such as Testament, Raven, Jungle Rot and the legendary Grim Reaper, Battlecross, Morbid Saint, Deceased, Embalmer, N.S.O.A. RAVEN, Whiplash, Prong, DRI, TOXXIC, Morta Skuld, Ross The Boss, and many regional touring acts, and continue to storm the local and regional scene with some of the best bands and venues around.
Mexican death metal force BETRAYME return with a vengeance with their brand new single “Unnamed”, out now via Lethal Scissor Records. This marks the band’s first original release since their EP Nihil Obstat and it showcases them at the peak of their creative power.
With “Unnamed”, BETRAYME deliver a furious yet calculated assault, a track that highlights their trademark blend of relentless speed, surgical precision and crushing groove. The band continues to refine a sound that is both technically elaborate and unapologetically heavy, reaffirming their position in the modern death metal landscape.
This new single is not just a return, but a clear statement of intent: BETRAYME are here to push their limits and elevate their craft to new heights.
“‘Unnamed’ is the first single from our upcoming album. This track is the result of an intense production process that spanned several months, during which we collaborated with two highly skilled producers. Rubén Sánchez of Urvn Studio (Guanajuato, Mexico) was responsible for editing the recorded tracks, using his expertise to help shape our sound. Meanwhile, acclaimed U.S. producer Mike Low took care of mixing and mastering. Mike has worked with bands such as Inferi, Allegaeon, DÅÅTH, Fallujah, and Shadow of Intent, among others. He currently works as an assistant to Dave Otero and Dan Swanö, further reinforcing his experience, one of the key reasons we were eager to collaborate with him in pursuit of the sound we’ve always envisioned”.

While not related to current events, it’s a fitting theme for man.”

The album news arrived alongside the release of “Things We Tell Ourselves In The Dark” and its accompanying video, which explores the 3D-modeled hotel that is The Blue Nowhere.
Discussing the direction of The Blue Nowhere, vocalist Tommy Rogers explains: “It’s more of a feeling, those moments when you feel alone in the world and you’re reflecting, and in that process you’re finding out new things about yourself and your place in the world. Existing in a space where nobody can find you, as you’re hidden from all forms of reality. That’s The Blue Nowhere.”

RECORRUPTOR have unleashed “Bearing the Befouled Spawn”, the second single from their forthcoming album Sorrow Will Drown Us All, due out July 18th, 2025, via Time To Kill Records.
With this new track, the Michigan based death metal unit doubles down on the crushing weight and surgical precision that define their sound. “Bearing the Befouled Spawn” is a relentless assault – dark and sharpened to a lethal point, showcasing the band’s evolved approach to brutality and atmosphere. Fuelled by blistering riffing and unyielding aggression, the single offers a punishing glimpse into the abyss RECORRUPTOR are prepared to drag listeners through.
Stream “Bearing the Befouled Spawn” now and witness the next chapter in their descent.
“‘Bearing the Befouled Spawn’ is Recorruptor’s sick and twisted tale of a most vile, disgusting birth – a woman forced to birth a vicious, man-eating hellspawn that wreaks havoc upon the unsuspecting public. A conscious, spiteful nod to the current climate of Christian ideologies sending the world into a downwards spiral, so too does this fictitious public face an ultimate doom as a result of their religious beliefs”.
Track-list:
1. Bathe in the Ashes of Heaven 2. Sorrow Will Drown Us All 3. Bearing the Befouled Spawn 4. Within the Vault 5. Urn of Verglas 6. Envenoming 7. An Unnatural Lust 8. Devoured by Centipedes 9. Insidious Rot 10. Putrid Aberration of Malevolent Divinity 11. Death at the Hands of His Image 12. Scourge of Prometheus (Ft. Enrico H. Di Lorenzo of Hideous Divinity)

ENTHEOS released their An End To Everything EP last Fall via Metal Blade Records. “An End To Everything’s title and lyrics are significant on a personal level and depict an era in my life that ended with the death of a close friend because of addiction,” says Crabb. “This person had thrived in life against many odds but ultimately succumbed as a result of their own poor decisions. An End To Everything is about the nature of the darkness of life and the human experience.
“Musically, our goal on this EP was to write five songs that could both stand on their own as singles and be cohesive as a collection. As always, we aimed to incorporate many different musical influences and blend them in a succinct way. Over the span of three months, we worked from the demo stages to completion alongside Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Fallujah, Whitechapel), who co-produced and engineered the EP, to make five tracks that are uniquely ‘ENTHEOS,’ and we are incredibly proud of the result.”

Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, LAST RETCH have been hard at work crafting a new chapter that promises to command the attention of underground death metal fans worldwide. Line-up:
Finlay Blakelock – Vocals Matt Fyke – Bass Spencer Robson – Drums Derek Brzozowski – Guitar John Russell – Guitar
Biography:
LAST RETCH first made their mark in early 2021 with a well-received demo that captured their raw, unfiltered sound and quickly drew the attention of underground death metal fans.
In September 2022, LAST RETCH released their debut full-length album, Sadism and Severed Heads” – a savage collection of nine tracks that pushed their sound to new levels of intensity and featured cover artwork by renowned painter Paolo Girardi. Building on this momentum, the band released the Ergotism EP in April 2024, showcasing their evolution with a tighter, even more aggressive sound.
LAST RETCH continues to refine their approach to death metal, never shying away from brutality while adding new layers of depth and atmosphere to their music.
Rome (IT) – Willowtip Records has unleashed Catechesis, the debut full-length album from Blackened Death Metal horde, PATRISTIC! The album is available on CD, vinyl, and digital formats. Click to stream/purchase below!
Born of the ashes of Roman Empire, pagan lust for life and philosophical opulence, then demeaned and mortified by the fathers of the one true god. Centuries lasting like the last dream before awakening. PATRISTIC is the soundtrack of the age of quiet chaos between the classic world, paganism and the impending shadow of the cross.
The band’s name and concept comes from Patristics which is the study of the early Christian writers who are designated Church Fathers. The period is generally considered to run from the end of New Testament times or end of the Apostolic Age (c. AD 100) to either AD 451 (the date of the Council of Chalcedon) or to the Second Council of Nicaea in 787.
Cold Flare Eternal Full-Length To See Release September 5th Via Reaper Entertainment
Finnish melodic death metal giants BEFORE THE DAWN will release their new studio album, Cold Flare Eternal, on September 5th via Reaper Entertainment.
Today the band unveils latest single, “Stellar Effect,” and its accompanying video. “Stellar Effect” is more than just a single, it’s a haunting anthem for those who walk the line between darkness and light. A sonic journey through sorrow, strength, and self-reflection.
Comments guitarist Tuomas Saukkonen, “‘Stellar Effect’ is a perfect combination of oldschool BEFORE THE DAWN and the band we are in 2025, somber gothic metal influences colliding with melodic death metal grandeur. Also, this song truly underlines the massive range that [vocalist] Paavo [Laapotti] has with his vocals.”

“To create, one must destroy.” This has long been the guiding mantra of Tuomas Saukkonen, one of Finland’s most prolific and influential metal musicians. Over the past two decades, he has shaped the scene through projects like Wolfheart, Dawn Of Solace, and of course, BEFORE THE DAWN.
Following their critically acclaimed Stormbringers full-length in 2023, Cold Flare Eternal captures the momentum of a band reborn. Recorded once again at guitarist Juho Räihä’s studio, the album brings together crushing heaviness, soaring melodies, and the atmospheric beauty of Finland’s dark landscapes.
With Cold Flare Eternal, BEFORE THE DAWN delivers a masterclass in modern melodic death metal – raw, refined, and deeply resonant; an intense, emotional, and atmospheric journey into the depths of Nordic metal.
Cold Flare Eternal features core art by Gogo Melone (Wolfheart, Insomnium, Xandria, Omnium Gatherum) and will be available on CD, LP, and digital formats.

Metalcore Artist Inspects the Challenges That Come With Hardships
Durham, NC – Megg Jacobs has released her new single “ego,” a track highlighting the illusions encountered when forced into positions of apprehension. Through downreaching lyrics, a powerful and vigorous outlook, Jacobs conveys the story of someone caught in an endless loop between a sterile, whitewashed world stained by filth and a glittering, enchanted forest that hides rot beneath beauty. Both are illusions. Both are prisons. “ego” is now available to stream and download on all platforms worldwide, with a visual coming in July via YouTube
Megg Jacobs encourages listeners to plunge deeper into their own struggles and experiences. “ego” explores the concept of ego death, not the serene, spiritual kind, but a forced unraveling of self that is violent, chaotic, and deeply unsettling. “Lyrically, the song deals with forced ego death,” Jacobs shares. “It’s about what happens when your sense of self is stripped away, and you’re left to confront the messy, inescapable gray that life actually exists in. Fighting the gray doesn’t bring clarity, it just shoves you into a different extreme.”
At its core, the song dissects how rejecting nuance and refusing to live in the gray can become its own kind of hell. Living in a world where you are placed into the cycle of feeling compelled to sit with the tragedies of your reality, while at the same time being influenced to look for the silver lining, causing existence to be agonizing. Beginning with heavy tones, boisterous vocals, intensifying drums, and thunderous guitars, the track grabs the consciousness of listeners and transports them into a roaring ambience.
The edgy instrumentation and rambunctious vocals stay consistent, rasping in each line, immediately enticing the listener, carrying them into a storm of emotional reckoning. Using worms as the unofficial mascot for her brand, Jacobs threads dark irony woven into the work, where worms, long and strange, become agents of transformation, consuming the ego instead of flesh. Produced in collaboration with Spicehouse out of Sanford, NC, the outcome is exuberant and bold.
Megg Jacobs became fascinated by music early on in her life. Raised in rural Maine around “misty forests, long winters and the eerie kind of silence that makes you creative… or a little crazy,” Jacobs grew up in this distinctive atmosphere, causing her imagination to flourish. Now based in North Carolina, she holds on to the whimsical magic and infuses it into her sound.
Although she had been training vocally most of her life, her sharp and recognizable sound didn’t appear until 2022, when she transitioned to a heavier vocal technique. Jacobs reveals herself with sounds of polarity and pliancy, leading her to convey ideas of an alluring and ambivalent mood, making her a voice to watch in metalcore.
“ego” demonstrates what it feels like to lose your sense of self in times of catastrophe. It serves as a reminder that we are always going to endure happenings that lead us into a place of skepticism. Ignoring the feelings that you are experiencing will only lead you into a more distressing place. Stream and download “ego” on all platforms worldwide. The Denver-based genre fusing metal quartet CRONOS COMPULSION is preparing to unveil their obliterating chaos in their forthcoming album Lawgiver. Known for their crushing riffs, frenzied rhythms, and a genre-defying blend of death-doom, chaotic metal, and noise-laced breakdowns, CRONOS COMPULSION is ready with a new line-up to enter their next chapter. The first single and title track “Lawgiver” is available now.
Lawgiver, CRONOS COMPULSION‘s debut album, has been several years in the making and features a revised track from 2021’s Cursed and Decaying EP, “Neolithic Meditations,” and eight other tracks of all-new material. “We’ve been playing these songs live for quite some time now so we’ve managed to distill this down into what we think is a solid first full-length”, says vocalist and guitarist Wil Wilson.
The album, set for release on July 11th on digital, CD and LP via Avantgarde Music death metal division Unorthodox Emanations, is a scathing critique of late-stage capitalism as well as humanity’s basest instincts.
Tonic Breed’s new single “Anew” features Grammy winning drummer Chris Adler, in what frontman Patrik K. Svendsen calls the most Lamb of God-style drumming he’s heard from Adler since his days in the band.
Tonic Breed, the metal project led by Norwegian musician Patrik K. Svendsen, is set to release its highly anticipated new single, “Anew,” on June 19, 2025. This high-octane track features Chris Adler, the iconic drummer of Lamb of God, lending his blistering rhythms to the song. The collaboration is expected to set the metal world on fire as Tonic Breed blends its signature thrash sound with Adler‘s unmatched drumming prowess. The song was also mixed and mastered by acclaimed producer Machine, who also handled Lamb of God’s “Ashes of the Wake” and “Sacrament”.
Chris Adler comments:
“I was quite curious when I got an email and some riffs from Patrik. He’s done some cool shit and I was flattered to be on his radar… I researched it for a minute and agreed. We did have to take a minute to both feel good about what this would be, meaning I beat up his song like a fucking Rocky movie but I knew it had the parts and strength. It’s been a privilege to work with Patrik. Humbling. You’ll know what I mean when you hear it.”
Svendensen adds:
“I originally sent over a rough demo of the song, a storm of riffs strung together with placeholder drums and a suggested structure. We worked together on a new structure for the song, and Chris took the lead on shaping it into something far more unique and effective than my original draft. To me, this is the most Lamb of God style drumming I’ve heard from Chris since he was in Lamb of God. I’m sure some metal guitarists would kill to hear Chris Adler’s drumming behind their riffs, I’ve been lucky enough to experience that firsthand.”
“Anew” will be available for streaming across all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube, on June 19th, 2025. The release of “Anew” marks a new milestone in the band’s career, as they prepare for their upcoming album, which promises more collaborations and even more explosive metal tracks to follow past high-profile collaborations, which already include Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth), Björn Strid (Soilwork), Michael Gilbert (Flotsam and Jetsam).

I bought this CD single of Black Sabbaths’ “Paranoid” with the B side of “Iron Man” back around 2007. If I remember correctly, I found this little metal gem at Best Buy. The CD tray slides out from the cardboard jacket.
I can’t find the actual release date for this CD single, yet it was released to promote Black Box: The Complete Black Sabbath 1970-1978; which was released back on April 27, 2004, via Warner Bros./Rhino.
Black Sabbaths’ Paranoid studio album was originally released in Europe on Sept. 18, 1970 and includes both “Paranoid” and “Iron Man”.
Black Sabbath: Tony Iommi (guitar), Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Geezer Butler (bass), Bill Ward (drums)

London (UK) – Blackened Death Metallers, Cult Burial, will release Collapse of Pattern, Reverence of Dust, onSeptember 5. Following two highly regarded albums, Cult Burial‘s forthcoming third release is unquestionably its finest work to date.
The album’s first single, “Collapse,” will be released June 27 on all digital platforms. Album pre-orders will be available on the same day.
Collapse of Pattern, Reverence of Dust is a record about erosion — of structures, of certainty, of meaning. Across eight tracks, Cult Burial tears through the frameworks we cling to, carving out something that sits between aggression and despair, weight and absence. The music is dense and layered, yet unafraid of space; at times claustrophobic, at others stripped to bare wire and exposed edge.
Cult Burial‘s music is a confluence of black, death, and doom metal, characterized by dissonant guitar work, relentless drumming, and guttural vocals. Their compositions often explore themes of existentialism, decay, and the human psyche, creating a soundscape that is both oppressive and thought-provoking.
Line-up:
Simon Langford – Music César Moreira – Vocals
