Detroit Michigan’s Melodic Death Metal outfit, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, will be hitting the road this coming summer as a part of the annual Vans Warped Tour. Vocalist Trevor Strnad comments; “We in THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER look forward to seeing you and your friend’s fancy haircuts this summer at the Vans Warped Tour. I think it’s safe to say that all of us in TBDM have attended this tour at various points and have fond memories of this great American punk rock freak show. This time, we shall be the freaks… the sore thumb poking at your eyeball. We are proud to be the fastest, craziest, and most evil band that has ever played Warped Tour… hundreds of bands will enter, one band will leave. Us. A BAND OF ORCS – To Play Summer Slaughter Festival Date In Anaheim!

After tasting blood at the local date of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival earlier this season, underground Metal monsters A BAND OF ORCS have succeeded in storming the gates of the last date of the Summer Slaughter Tour on August 25th at the Grove of Anaheim.  Also playing are Cannibal Corpse, Between The Buried And Me, The Faceless, Periphery, Veil Of Maya, Job For A Cowboy, Goatwhore, Exhumed, and Cerebral Bore.  This represents a step forward for the orcs in their attempt to bring about the Domination, the orc-style ear-drum apocalypse of your frail human realm.

Southern California Metalheads who plan on attending the show should plan on showing up early to catch A BAND OF ORCS (1:30pm PST) as they claw their way to the top of the metal heap and add more heads to the pile.

Following up on 2007’s WarChiefs of the Apocalypse EP, A BAND OF ORCS have their first full-length album due out soon, but have had to push back the release date to the end of September. When asked about the delay, bass player and shaman for the band, Gronk!, had this to say, “Us get put behind when us decided to join battle for Mayhem and play some other dates in July. Us live for live raids!  But Gogog and us finish brutal vocals last week. Now, audio sorcerer need time to mix magic. All powerful sorcery take time.  Hail Gzoroth!!!”

By audio sorcerer, Gronk! means engineer/producer Juan Urteaga of Trident Studios in Pacheco, CA whose most recent credits include chart-busting albums like Machine Head’s “Unto the Locust” and Testament’s “Dark Roots of the Earth.”

A BAND OF ORCS’ Summer Slaughter set will include several tracks from the forthcoming album Adding Heads to the Pile, including their latest single released through Itchy Metal Entertainment entitled “In the Keeper’s Chamber.”

COVEN 13 – To Perform At Hammer Of Doom Festival 2012

Legendary U.S. Doom act COVEN (also known as COVEN 13) has been confirmed to appear at Germany’s Hammer of Doom Festival on November 10, 2012 at Posthalle in Würzburg. The festival begins on November 9th for Epic Night at which ROSS THE BOSS will headline. COVEN will join PENTAGRAM, THE SKULL, SOLSTICE and others in performing the next day, appropriately called Doomsday!

GRAVEYARD – Live Show From Rock Hard Festival Streaming Now!

LIZZY BORDEN – Co-Headlining At Kavarna Rock Festival, July 15th, 2012

 The legendary LIZZY BORDEN will be co-headlining at the Kavarna Rock Festival in Kavarna, Bulgaria on July 15th. Stryper will be co-headling on July 14th. The ever legendary Michael Schenker is scheduled for July 13th. Whoa! These three days look like they’re gonna ROCK!

I’m guessed at the spelling of Glen Hughez. Is it supposed to be the iconic Glenn Hughes? Maybe that is how the name is spelled in Bulgaria? Could it be a Glenn Hughes “All-Star” Tribute Band? I just don’t know.

Whoever is going to this very cool festival, have a kick-ass Rockin’ time! Metal be thy name.

THE KOSHER KONCERT SERIES – Is Coming To The Inland Empire This Summer; Free Kosher Koncert Series Comp Available

Los Angeles, California-based online metal radio station Kosher Metal have crossed over into the realm of concert promotion. The first Kosher Koncert Series event will take place on Saturday, August 4th 2012 at The Vibe in Riverside, CA – located at 1805 University Ave. This event will be all ages with raffle prizes provided in part by Sam Ash Music, Nuclear Blast Records and RH Merch.

Tickets for the event go on sale Saturday, May 12th at 10am PST via TicketLeap at www.koshermetal.ticketleap.com.

There is also a compilation available for FREE download that contains one track from each band performing. Kosher Metal founder, and on-air personality, Max ‘ManJewky’ Wallis had this to say about the new venture: “It feels good to get back in the promoting game. I worked for a major promoter in the Hollywood area for a couple of years and they were some of the most fun years of my life. It’s all part of the all-encompassing passion that is helping local bands get to the next level, the more I can do the happier I am. Of course, it can be very stressful at times… but there’s nothing like seeing a bunch of people having a good time at an event that you created. ”

Kosher Metal is an online radio station that can be heard via the web and most smartphones. It started as a weekly radio program in June 2010 and became a 24 hour operation in April of 2011. Kosher Metal founder and on-air personality, ManJewky, is a graduate of the Music Business Program at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA.

WITCH CROSS – To Perform At METAL MAGIC 5, In Fredericia, Denmark

WITCH CROSS – The reunited Danish Metallers known across the Metal land as WITCH CROSS, are scheduled to perform at METAL MAGIC 5 on July 13th, 2012, in Fredericia, Denmark. Fronted by vocalist Kev Moore, he recently shared the top photo with Metal Odyssey. This photo was taken at this year’s Keep It True Festival XV; which was held in the Metal grand country of Germany.

Kev Moore has stated that WITCH CROSS is currently writing new material for a forthcoming album! That type of Metal news is what I’m talkin’ about! Check out the METAL MAGIC 5 poster below and you’ll realize that there will be some serious Metal being played at this festival!

Many excellent Metal bands on the bill for certain; I raise the horns seeing that DAMIEN THORNE  and CRYSTAL VIPER will be sharing the stage with WITCH CROSS! Metal be thy name!

KRAMPUS – Joins Heidenfest 2012

In the last couple of years, the Heidenfest turned out to be a unique and not-to-be-missed tour package when it comes to the biggest names in the field of heathen/viking metal and bands offering you the best in between war anthems and drinking horn frenzy! Which is why the 2012 line up looks like the wet dream of every heathen metal warrior again:

Headlining will be mighty genre legends WINTERSUN from Finland! It took mastermind Jari Mäenpää and his brethren exactly one album to write folk and melodic death metal history: “Wintersun” came out in 2004 and will be followed by a new milestone around the tour.

“We are very excited to announce that we are going to be headlining the 2012 Heidenfest Tour in October. There was some setbacks with the album during the winter (again), but as usual we have managed to ram through them. (Big thanks to our management for helping us through the tough times!). I´ve been mixing my ass off and things are going smooth and steady now and the album will be released late summer. Stay tuned for bigger updates about the album (or should we say “albums”, wink wink!)“ Jari and the Wintersun boys, cheers!

Fellow Finns KORPIKLAANI have an equally impressive fan base to boast and with albums such as “Ukon Wacka” (2011) they deliver the goods in a party-friendly “Pelimanni metal” way! Rising German force VARG on the other hand call their troops to war with some powerful pagan metal tunes while Norwegians TROLLFEST up the ante with a healthy dose of black humour – and supreme folky heaviness! TROLLFEST will be releasing their brand new album “Brumlebassen” on August 24 and VARG will unleash their new beast on October 19, right in time for the HEIDENFEST tour!

Opening act on this tour will be Italian modern folk metal outfit KRAMPUS, who won the Rock The Nation award 2011. KRAMPUS offer an eclectic array of folk sounds with the usage of bagpipes, flutes, whistles, violins, and the Irish Bouzouki partnered with the modern metal sounds of heavy guitars, aggressive vocals, and melodic keyboards.

In addition to creating a new breed of sound, KRAMPUS´ focus on their lyrical content while addressing themes such as issues with humanity and nature, and environmental awareness. They´ll be appearing on this years edition of METALCAMP festival in August and the same month they´ll be releasing their long-awaited debut album. Fear the Krampus!
