βThese are songs of alienation, remorse, defiance, and a whisper of vulnerability. This is good stuff, intelligent and real. The man can write a song and pick a guitar, and he has an emotional well he knows how to tap.β SANDY LOVEJOY β KNIX 102.5 Country Spirit
RFK Media has announced the 30th anniversary remastered reissue of the album that shocked both worlds β Ronnie Lee Keelβs debut, βWestern Country.β
In 1995, long before any of his 80s peers ventured into country music, Keel was the subject of the highly rated MTV program βWhere Are They Now,β and the now-infamous declaration of his commitment to country music created a dust storm of dissent in the rock and metal community.
βWestern Country,β the album he released that summer, was a shameless statement that reinforced that commitment in words and music. This is pure 90s radio country in the tradition of George Strait, Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn and other chart-topping icons; the songs were inspired by Keelβs roadhouse and rodeo experiences as he embraced a relentless schedule of over 250 shows per year during that decade, including opening slots for Chris LeDoux, Jo Dee Messina and others.
Many of these tracks found their way onto major TV shows (βX Files,β βDesperate Housewives,β βTouched By An Angel,β βKing Of The Hillβ), movies (βWhere The Money Isβ starring Paul Newman, β1000 Acresβ starring Michelle Pfeiffer, βChill Factorβ starring Cuba Gooding Jr.) sports broadcasts for NASCAR and the Daytona 500, and the background music for the βCMT Insiderβ series.
βWestern Countryβ won the Best Album award from the Phoenix chapter of the Country Music Clubs of America and earned the artist a Lifetime Achievement Award from the same organization.
While alienating a legion of metal fans who just didnβt understand, this album broke down many barricades between the two genres and gave birth to Keelβs modern identity as the βMetal Cowboy.β Pristine digital production compliments the traditional country instrumentation; the songs are laced with the brilliant country guitar picking of Hal Michael Monti, beautiful pedal steel guitar work by Ralph Borchert, honky-tonk piano from Wayne Holland, masterful fiddle tracks by Craig Delphia, drumming by Joe Morris, and tied together with bass lines by Mike Wood.
Ronβs 2024 album KEELWORLD includes great new rock and metal from his bands Steeler, Keel, Ron Keel Band, and Emerald Sabbath; but it also features a couple of brand-new βRonnie Lee Keelβ songs, proving that this βJekyll & Hydeβ is still proud of his redneck roots as well. Visit βWestern Countryβ to hear where it all began.

A Young Personβs Guide To King Parrot marks the bandβs first new output in five years. A hostile and abrasive slab of sensory destroying anthems, the record features ten thoroughly crafted blasts through the psyche of this crazed Aussie quintet. Recorded at Melbourneβs Dangertone studios with engineer Luke Walton, itβs the first full-length album since 2017βs Ugly Produce offering and their first new music since 2022βs Holed Up In The Lair EP.
Charming dark cabaret metal adepts TARDIGRADE INFERNO are set to release their third studio album, Hush.
The album is a compelling result of TARDIGRADE INFERNOβs evolving signature style and the sheer power of their live performance. What truly defines the band is the experience the listener gets at their live shows, the thoughtful songwriting, the ironic lyricism, and the striking, highly aesthetic visuals.
In June 2025, TARDIGRADE INFERNO released an atmospheric and emotional live album, Made In Hell, that captures their ferocious performance and their connection with the audience. Hush blends all of these strengths with an authentic sound delivered with studio precision.
Experience your first taste of Hush with the official music video for the album’s first single, “Hide ‘n’ Seek.” Watch now at: youtu.be/fscAHuASUoo?si=MUtH3v_zxPv413fE
Hush is due out March 5th, on CD, digital and four exclusive vinyl editions. Pre-order the album at https://tr.ee/TiHush
TARDIGRADE INFERNO: Darya Rorria – vocals Alexander Pavlovich – guitars, keys Maxim Belekhov – bass Andrew Drew – drums
Track-list:
1. The Final Show
2. Hide ‘n’ Seek
3. Deadly Fairytales
4. All In your Head
5. Dead Fish Smile
6. Subatomic Heist
7. I.C.D.
8. Goor
9. Hush
10. Hypograph
11. I Am Eternal
Hush naturally picks up where 2023’s Burn the Circus left off. At the beginning you hear the crackling of a circus burning down. A surviving radio plays a mournful melody that opens a grand show amid the ashes. Like a massive blazing phoenix, TARDIGRADE INFERNO opens its wings with elemental force. It sweeps away what remains and reclaiming its place at the center of attention.
The gorgeous Darya Rorria uses her flexible contralto to tell stories that are anything but cheerful. Her expressive vocals pulse with the music. They tease sharply, flow lyrically, spread in a soft velvet hush, and fade into a tragic whisper. They soar through tense passages and then glide back down into a low, intimate tone. The lyrics are charged to the point of electric crackling, just as one expects from the TARDIGRADE INFERNO.
Their trademark keyboards sound even more retro-futuristic, paying tribute to the classic horror movies of the past. The guitar acts like the wildest creature in the prairie with it’s fury clothed in the polished frock coat of a respectable gentleman. The bass has the βAWESOMEβ knob turned to 100%. The drums are emotional, dynamic, and alive. Altogether it creates a familiar yet more sincere and revealing sound. The music becomes almost visible, almost tangible.
TARDIGRADE INFERNO have always paid special attention to the visual side of their art; from stage costumes and characters to their album covers. The cover for Hush was created by artist Milena Kress in a dark-aesthetic style.
This is the band’s first experience with analog painting – the piece is oil on canvas. It conveys the anxiety and emotional intensity that mirror the albumβs lyrics. Itβs also the first time the bandβs mascot, the Tardigrade, is absent from the cover. It symbolizes a kind of coming-of-age. The toys have been left behind in the nursery.
Mixing, mastering, and production were handled by Vladimir Lehtinen, who has been working with the band continuously since the release of The Worst of Me EP. Vladimir helped the band capture their live energy without losing the studio polish of their recordings.
In 2022 Swedenβs THE SONIC OVERLORDS unleashed a magnificent opus, Last Days of Babylon, that remains an underrated gem in our opinions. A combination of powerful doom riffs and epic, melodic majesty of late ’70s/early ’80s heavy rock. One of the songs on that album βPast The End of Timeβ is now available as a standalone single on all digital platforms or watch the video HERE: https://youtu.be/UFGuFs1sLMc?si=zKiZDJx1Oe8-ABZm.
What makes this exclusive variant version special is itβs a duet version between THE SONIC OVERLORDS vocalist Marcus Rubin and guest Tony Martin (Black Sabbath).
βA dream come true… to have Tony Martin guest on one of our songs. The first time I heard his voice on this track, I cried with happiness. The influence of his time in Black Sabbath is immense on both me and the band. And Tony is one of my top five vocalists of all time,β says guitarist Morgan Zocek.
Last Days of Babylon is still available on ltd vinyl (300), CD and across all digital platforms.
The album is timeless gem of dark and traditional metal with with classic influences from the likes of Dio/Martin-era Black Sabbath, Rainbow, early Candlemass, Yngwie J. Malmsteen/Rising Force, Scorpions and Michael Schenker Group. This feel and quality is heard on emphasis tracks βIn My Darkest Roomβ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOk9v2ZwCUAβUtopiaβhttps://youtu.be/75MzM8dGHA8 and βEternal Heroesβ https://youtu.be/upPbkn95pbw
In the meantime, βPast the End of Timeβ works as a bridge as THE SONIC OVERLORDS have begun work recording new material. So anticipate some new music in 2026.
THE SONIC OVERLORDS were founded in 2017 by Swedish rock guitarist Morgan Zocek. He began jamming with various musicians and writing songs inspired by classic hard rock of the late 1970s and early 1980s, but with a more modern approach to the production and sonics.
The full sound of THE SONIC OVERLORDS began to solidify with the addition in 2020 of vocalist Marcus Zachrisson Rubin, who had been playing with Zocek in an Ozzy Osbourne cover band for many years, and the rumbles of new bassist Daniel RamΓrez.
Silent night, ROARING night! CORELEONI loudly toll the bell for the festive season with their brand new digital offering:Live at Hallenstadion Zurich is out now via PERCEPTION – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music, and available for streaming on several platforms.
Following two singles – “Sick & Tired” & “Like It Or Not,” both taken from their first original album III [2022] – the international lion prideβs focus lays on a classic track today. “Firedance” is one out of seven GOTTHARD songs CORELEONI performed on July 3, 2025 for this release and kick-started the final third of their energizing set with unrivalled joy of playing.
βThis is one of the most important βfirst GOTTHARD eraβ songs: itβs a heavy and melodic mid-tempo track recalling strong 70s and 80s vibes. βFiredanceβ delivers great vocal and musical parts, accompanied by one the heaviest and funniest guitar solo, which was catapulted into live heaven on this recording,βadds guitaristJgor Gianola.

Including both covers of the rich GOTTHARD catalogue and tracks from III, CORELEONIβs first original album which came out in early 2022, this new recording is essential rock βnβ roll: raw yet heavily rocking.
These history-charged 40 minutes simply had to be captured for eternity, not only for the 7,000 attending fans to relive the event but also for CORELEONIβs and hard rock fans all over the world!

Dresden-based black/thrash newcomers LEAD INJECTOR present their debut album Witching Attack – an uncompromising homage to classic extreme metal, recorded over seven intensive days in August 2025 at Stereoid Studios in SchΓΆnfels, Saxony. “It was a really awesome time, we experimented a lot, racked our brains and learned a great deal,” recalls vocalist/bassist Leo about the sessions.
Founded in 2022, the trio is the first serious band for all three members after experiences in solo projects and school ensembles, and they quickly found their place in the local scene with their 2024 demo From the Crypts… of Hell. Witching Attack now combines re-recorded demo tracks with fresh material written in the meantime.
The songwriting process usually follows a proven pattern: guitarist Jason develops riffs and collects lyrical ideas which Leo further elaborates, with all three arranging together.
From the beginning, Lead Injector have demonstrated a knack for catchy song structures that sets them apart from average acts in this style. “We make sure that each of our songs is individual and unique, no two sound alike,” Leo emphasizes. This approach creates variety and memorability, qualities not taken for granted in the genre. The striking album artwork comes from SepulchralOwl.
The artist, who has accompanied the band since its early days, creates everything by hand from merchandise to flyers to stage banners, giving Lead Injector an unmistakable visual identity.
The band is deeply rooted in Dresden’s metal scene and maintains close connections with fellow groups like Sintage, Acid Blade and Mortuary Nightmare. The continuous exchange and mutual inspiration shape not only the music but also the sense of community at concerts, where familiar faces are always encountered.

Brooklynβs crust smeared death metal unit ANTI-SAPIEN return with their new single βD.E.A.D.β, a track that highlights the bandβs punk, hardcore and crust influences. Built on a mosh friendly intro, a fast d-beat verse and sharp higher register vocals, βD.E.A.D.β taps into the bandβs love of filthy crust and NYDM style slam riffs. The song breaks away into a vicious party slam section complete with vintage 808 bass drops, showcasing the bandβs ability to merge primitive heaviness with energetic hooks.
βD.E.A.D.β stands for βDo Everything All Dayβ, an acronym coined by a longtime friend of Blake over twenty years ago. The songβs theme reflects the idea that too much of life is wasted on worry, stagnation and unfulfilling obligations. ANTI-SAPIEN use the track to champion a philosophy of living fully and deliberately, honoring the dreams of loved ones who are no longer here and refusing to get caught in cycles of empty distraction.
The band notes that βD.E.A.D.β has quickly become one of their strongest live songs. Audiences respond instantly to the opening mosh part, and the trackβs position as the start of Side B of the upcoming EP is intentional. Written with a side A and side B mindset, the song is meant to reintroduce listeners with a surge of energy and leave them wanting more as it barrels into a double bass driven solo and breakdown finale.
The EP At the Mercy of the Merciless arrives January 16 on Terminus Hate City. It is the second official recording from ANTI-SAPIEN and continues the bandβs growth as purveyors of crust smeared death metal. The members bring decades of experience across grind, death metal and classic metal projects and write specifically to support the unique tone set at the bandβs inception: fun and catchy, but grimy, sweaty and raw.
At The Mercy of the Merciless Track listοΏΌ:
Old Drugs
Eater Of Ghosts
D.E.A.D.
At The Mercy Of The Merciless
Grinding The System
George Washington’s Teeth
Written throughout their touring schedule, the EP reflects the bandβs evolution into more complex riffing and structures while preserving the primitive, oozing character that defines their sound. Pre-orders are available HERE.

MASTER BOOT RECORD will be touring in support of their HARDWAREZ full-length, released in 2024 via Metal Blade Records.
HARDWAREZ explores the duality of technology. The LP, which follows 2022βs Personal Computer and 2020βs Floppy Disk Overdrive, comes from the expansive mind of multi-instrumentalist and MBR mastermind Vittorio DβAmore (aka Victor Love), an Italian producer who emerged from the underground as an anonymous project in 2016 to create the soundtrack for the cyberpunk point-and-click adventure game VirtuaVerse. The project seamlessly evolved into a standalone entity, releasing over fourteen albums in just a few years.
To create HARDWAREZ, the technologist worked by live streaming his desktop on YouTube while composing new music. Everything is programmed via MIDI. Intensive touring augmented with live musicians helped Love make the decision to include real guitars to achieve a massive sound and boost the enhanced frequency spectrum of the instrument. Additionally, the tracks feature sections without overdubs and with updated drum samples and a new mixing approach, creating a more vibrant and punchy drum sound.
HARDWAREZ earned the #3 spot on Billboardβs Current Electronic Albums chart upon its first week of release. Elsewhere, the record took the #11 position on the Current Hard Music Albums chart, #17 on the Top New Artists Albums chart, and more!
Portuguese power duo SOUL OF ANUBIS will release their new album, Ritual, on February 20th, 2026 via Time To Kill Records. After more than a decade of intense activity, relentless touring and a steadily growing reputation across Europe, the band returns with a record that captures the full scope of their signature sound.
β’Incarnation’ represents the rebirth into a new cycle to enter the path of peace after the conflicted struggle in life. It is the story of a man who, after his death, gets on the boat to head towards the perfect world and who faces difficult struggles during his crossing. Along the way, he must leave behind oppression, starvation, pain and mind, leading him to immortality”.
Line-up:
Hugo FerrΓ£o β Guitar, Vocals Rui Silva – Drums
Formed in 2010 in Northern Portugal, SOUL OF ANUBIS have carved out a distinct place within the European underground thanks to their explosive fusion of thrash, sludge, doom and post-metal. Their sound channels the raw urgency of Mantar, the primal energy of early Mastodon, and the relentless drive of High On Fire and Black Cobra, yet remains unmistakably their own, a visceral blend of aggression and dynamic shifts that refuses to be confined to a single genre.
On stage, the duo are known for their fierce and magnetic performances, delivering an unfiltered surge of heaviness that connects with audiences on a deeply physical level. Over the years, they have performed extensively across Portugal and beyond, building a loyal following through their intensity and authenticity.
The upcoming album promises to push their sonic boundaries even further, expanding upon their trademark blend of massive riffs, dark groove, and emotional gravity, while highlighting a newfound sense of urgency and compositional versatility.
Track list:
1. Ritual 2. Mind Crusher (feat Keijo Niinimaa from Rotten Sound) 3. Incarnation 4. Vermin 5. Dead Cult 6. God’s Burial 7. Human Torch 8. Unholy Tomb

Swedish glam metal torchbearers CRASHDΓET are back with their seventh studio album, Art of Chaos, set for release on May 8th via Ninetone Records. The band describes it as βthe ten sleaziest tracks weβve written in agesβ – a high-voltage return to the raw attitude, big hooks, and filthy swagger that defined their early sound.
Packed with big choruses, razor-sharp riffs, and that signature CRASHDΓET punch, Art of Chaos marks a fresh chapter for the band while staying true to the spirit that built their legacy.
You can pre-order the album on CD/LP directly from our shop today.
Metalitalia.com, in collaboration with MCΒ² Live and Live Club, is pleased to announce the first confirmations for the thirteenth edition of the Metalitalia Festival, set to take place on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September 2026 at the Live Club in Trezzo sullβAdda (Milan). As always, the event will be preceded by an exclusive Warm Up Party on Friday 25th September at the legendary Bloom in Mezzago, with full details to be revealed in the coming months.
True to tradition, the festival will once again offer a full-scale experience, featuring a rich musical programme packed with international acts and exclusive performances. Fans can also look forward to the ever-popular free meet & greets with all artists, a wide metal market, and the return of Metalitalia Ink, the area entirely dedicated to tattoo and body-art culture.
Below are the first bands confirmed for this edition:
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26
Headlining the Saturday bill will be PARADISE LOST. It is a true honour for us to welcome a band that has shaped our tastes as listeners and written a defining chapter in European metal history. The pioneers of gothic metal for this occasion will present a special βby requestβ show, with a setlist chosen by the fans. Additional information about the voting system will be announced later.
Also performing on Saturday are AMENRA, one of the leading forces in the post-metal landscape. The Belgian collective typically cathartic and visceral performance is set to take on an even more monumental form within the Live Club.
Completing this first announcement are the Ukrainians 1914, one of the most compelling contemporary acts in the European extreme metal scene. Known for their dynamic fusion of black, death, and doom metal with their concept entirely rooted in World War I, they promise a deeply immersive live experience.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27
Sundayβs headliners will be CORONER, the legendary Swiss techno-thrash formation now stronger than ever thanks to the widespread acclaim of their impressive comeback album Dissonance Theory. It will be an honour to welcome them back to the Live Club for what promises to be a masterful performance.
As co-headliners, we are equally proud to confirm Floridaβs CYNIC, pioneers of all things technical and avant-garde within the deathβthrash spectrum. Paul Masvidalβs band will perform a special show focused on their first two full-length albums: the seminal Focus and the equally celebrated Traced in Air β an elegant journey into their early legacy.
Also joining Sundayβs programme are SADIST. With two headliners of such calibre, it felt natural to extend the invitation to a group that has helped shape the history of Italian death metal and is widely regarded as a cult name internationally. For the occasion, Tommy, Trevor and company will perform a set dedicated to their masterpiece Tribe, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026.
Many more bands, exclusive shows and full details about all the additional festival features will be announced in the coming weeks!
At a time when everything seems to be getting more expensive and the cost of living keeps rising, we are proud to highlight that – despite the current situation – ticket prices for the festival have remained unchanged from last year. Itβs a concrete commitment to keeping the Metalitalia Festival accessible to all fans, without compromising on the quality and ambition that have always defined the event.

Reigning Phoenix Music, in collaboration with Hasbro, is proud to announce the most chaotic Christmas anthem ever to slither down a chimney: COLD SLITHERβs new single βCobra Claws Are Coming To Town.β
Fresh from the momentum of their self-titled album, released earlier this year, the Dreadnok-driven metal outfit returns with a holiday track packed with sleigh bells, sabotage, and seasonal pandemonium. The track is accompanied by a high-octane holiday video produced by none other than Torch himself (whose alter ego is known as Ross Sewage).
“Well… Along with the persistent pestering by Torch and Ripper, Cobra Commander now has a new scheme to ensnare the masses with a… Ugh… Christmas song.
I, being the consummate professional, and of course gold being an easy persuader, was only too happy to oblige the dear Commander with the most shredding of holiday mayhem you’ll ever hear! I give you, “Cobra Claws are Coming Town”. You all remember the siege upon Keystone City right?! Hahahaha!!!” β Zartan
“All’s I wanted for Xmas was to see the USS Flagg sink like a stone into the briny deep – well, that and maybe a new piledriver, but instead, the boss wanted us to sing a Christmas song, of all things! Then I thought, who am I to refuse our legions of screaming fans a little ‘oliday brainwa- er ‘eadbanging!” β Ripper
βItβs a bloominβ treat to once again show the yobbos why weβre the best heavy metal band in the world!! Bludgers thought we was washed up, but we put out the best album of 2025! Didnβt think we could nail a Chrissie song, and we turn in a bloody ripper! And wait till you read the lyrics!! Least, Iβve heard theyβre good. Reading ainβt me strong suit.β β Torch
“Ehh, he’s not really a Joe guy like us. Maybe just something like “I likes me choo choo train… And me chainsaw too!” Ross, is that what you have him playing at the beginning of the video?” β Buzzer
βCobra Claws Are Coming To Townβ arrives as both a gift and a warning. This is holiday spirit the COLD SLITHER way: loud, unhinged, and ready to storm every playlist from now until the new year. Lock your chimneys. The Cobra Claws ride tonight.
Featuring 10 original tracks and a remastered version of their cult-classic single βCold Slither,β the album plunges into dystopian metal with themes of swamp-born menace and Cobra-fueled power. The Cold Slither album is available across digital and vinyl formats.
