Black Death Metal Thrash demons ACHERON have completed the recording process for their upcoming Listenable Records release, Kult Des Hasses.The album is now set to enter the mixing and mastering phase.
ACHERON will be doing a mini-tour with INCANTATION in late July. The band has enlisted DISMEMBERMENT guitarist Jacob Shively to fill the slot of second guitarist. When asked if Shively would be their new permanent second guitarist, ACHERON founder Vincent Crowley stated:
“Jacob is a talented guitarist and fan of the band. His group DISMEMBERMENT opened for ACHERON a few times and I really liked them. That is why I asked him about filling in. But we are taking baby steps. We’ve learned from past experiences not to just hire someone right away. For now he is playing with us for all upcoming live shows. We’ll just have to see if it progresses into something more. But we are indeed open to the idea if the dedication and chemistry is there.”

DEHUMAN REIGN – Releasing on July 26th, 2013, via FDA Rekotz is the menacing debut album, Destructive Intent, from Berlin’s Death Metal squad: Dehuman Reign. With (about) 20 minutes of face-melting Death Metal to be devoured on Destructive Intent, the keep it short, fast and deadly approach in which Dehuman Reign ventures into is not a bad idea at all. The shortened album approach in Metal has succeeded in the past, with Slayer’s Reign In Blood being the untouchable template for generations of bands and fans to savor.
Here we have Dehuman Reign and not Slayer, so the comparisons can stop with lengths of albums. With that said, Dehuman Reign rages along with a Gore Metal meets Death Metal sound; a blanket of sound that’s terrifying enough to put some of your worst nightmares to their knees. Morbid vocals and extreme speed musically, the two marry into each other with a perfection that only we Death and Gore Metal fans can wholly appreciate.
With killer album art and equally killer songs, what more can any savvy Death/Gore/Extreme Metal fan want? I’ll tell you this much, with this album playing and the lights turned off, Dehuman Reign easily can scare the shit out of me; especially the evil provoking spoken word tracks of: Invocation I Black Seedand Invocation II Scorched Earth. Whatever the deadly case may be, the melancholic vibes and darkness that lurks behind these spoken words are what keeps me up late at night and I’ll never learn my lesson; cause this is the underground Metal I crave for. Apex Terror displays a fresher, stripped down and more intense style of songwriting that draws from the catchier end of Death Metal and obscure Thrash. Lyrically, the album is an exploration of the darker side of humanity. Apex Terror will be out in North America in the fall of 2013.

Apostasy Records and Swiss Death Metal act DISPARAGED have recently entered into an unholy alliance that will see the band release their upcoming fourth album on the label.
DISPARAGED exists to dispel any existing stereotypes regarding the laid-back nature of the Swiss. Danish Death Metallers DEUS OTIOSUS have been confirmed as the last act to complete the line-up for this year’s Copenhell Festival in Denmark.
Tak Rock – an initiative by Danish brewery Royal Beer – hosted a vote between DEUS OTIOSUS and one other Danish Metal act, to let fans decide the final band for the festival. DEUS OTIOSUS won the competition with more than 1400 votes.
COPENHELL is Denmark’s biggest metal festival and takes place June 13th – 15th. This year’s installment will feature the likes of KING DIAMOND, DANZIG, TESTAMENT and many more. For more info, visit http://www.copenhell.dk.

Death Metal powerhouse DYING FETUS have confirmed that they will be heading back to Europe this summer on a headlining tour. The tour begins July 24th in Slovenia and runs through August 18th in France. The tour includes appearances at numerous festivals including Brutal Assault, Party San, Bloodstock, Summer Breeze and many more. A complete list of dates can be found below.

CARCASS – Disinterred British Extreme Metal legends CARCASS have signed to Nuclear Blast Records for the world excluding Japan! Surgical Steel, the band’s first studio release since their 1996 LP Swansong, was produced by Colin Richardson (NAPALM DEATH, BOLT THROWER, GOREFEST, CANNIBAL CORPSE, SINISTER, RODRIGO Y GABRIELA) and mixed/mastered by Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ACCEPT, EXODUS, TESTAMENT).
Joining guitarist Bill Steer and bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker in the band’s current incarnation are new drummer Dan Wilding (ABORTED, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED) and guitarist Ben Ash (PIG IRON, DESOLATION, LIQUEFIED SKELETON). CARCASS has released several classic albums over the years, including Decibel Magazine “Hall of Fame” inductees Heartwork and Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious, and their influence has changed the face of Extreme Metal with every consecutive release. Whether it was inventing gore-grind (i.e. Reek of Putrefaction, Symphonies of Sickness) or creating the template for Melodic Death Metal (i.e. Heartwork), CARCASS has always made records by which bars were set and rules were broken. Upon the band’s dismantling in 1996, fans mourned the loss of the seminal act and longed that the group would return again one day. In 2007, the metal world got its wish as CARCASS reformed to play several sold-out reunion shows around the globe.
Once again re-motivated to administer a shot of cynicism and infectious riffs into the arm of a sickly Metal scene, founding members Bill Steer and Jeff Walker began writing what would become the latest output of their highly influential career, Surgical Steel. Only the choicest of cuts were made, and blood sweat and tears were shed to bring us a record worthy of the CARCASS legacy. In short, Surgical Steel is just what the doctor ordered.

English Extreme Metal legends CARCASS will return to headline the ninth DamnationFestival for their only UK appearance following the release of their first album in 17 years.
The Death and Grind standard bearers have promised another historic set which will feature cult classics alongside unexpected old gems and brand new material when they take the stage at Leeds University Union on Saturday, November 2, 2013.
And after helping to sell out Damnation Festival in advance back in 2008, guitarist BillSteer is looking forward to performing to a packed house on their return to the event.
He said: “We’re very excited about the prospect of returning to Damnation Festival this year.
“Our appearance there in 2008 was a major highlight for us and this time around, people can expect to hear a fairly different Carcass set.
“The old favourites will be in there, of course, but we’re also planning to play a couple of the less obvious tracks from our past, as well as songs from the album we’ve just completed. Join us!”

With 22 more bands to be announced across three stages, festival director Gavin McInally, said fans can look forward to the melting pot of diverse styles of music Damnation Festival is known for from Black Metal to Post-Rock.
He added: “It was a coup to land the first UK Carcass show in 13 years in 2008 when fans snapped up every ticket going before we made it to the day itself and it’s another coup having the band return following the release of their first new album in 17 years.
“But even with the mighty Carcass topping the bill, we won’t be satisfied until we’ve pieced together a more challenging and brilliant day of music than the eight successful years we’ve already had the pleasure of hosting, so expect a lot more to come from 2013.”
Tickets for Damnation Festival 2013 are on sale now and will be held at last year’s price of £32 for a limited period.
Danish Death Metal mercenaries PANZERCHRIST are releasing their seventh album, aptly entitled The 7th Offensive on July 15th on Listenable following their previous and highly – acclaimed 2011 release, Regiment Ragnarok.
PANZERCHRIST used three different studio to complete their new assault. Guitars and bass were recorded in the Igloo by HR Swan, drums were recorded at AMP studio by JensFörster and Markus Ziemer and vocals and the final mix were done in Death Island Studio with engineer Marco Angioni.
Although very extreme musically on a constant basis, PANZERCHRIST have never quite done the same album twice. The 7th Offensive shows a slightly more melodic and evil approach to the guitars; enhancing the grey, sinister feel of a battlefield. The band’s intended bleak sound was without a doubt achieved. The album also sees PANZERCHRIST return to the ultra-guttural and pure death metal styled vocals.
Make no mistake, PANZERCHRIST ‘s new album retain the violence and über-brutality the band has been known for. As the band says, “THE WAR IS OVER, LETS START A NEW ONE , DEATH FOREVER PANZER!”
