Now celebrating the 25th anniversary of their landmark Slowly We Rotfull-length, Tampa Death Metal icons, OBITUARY, have been perpetually busy finding new methods of ways to bring fans closer to their audio carnage through worldwide concert streams and all-access backstage giveaways.
Most recently, the band offered up a Pay Per View, professionally shot live stream of their homecoming performance at The Orpheum which featured a pummeling all classicssetlist from their first three platters of brutality: 1989’s Slowly We Rot 1990’s Cause of Death and 1992’s The End Complete.
This week the band continues to spread their timeless audio devastation with an On Demand, regionally based, virtual tour and live chat with fans. The PPV live stream from the aforementioned Florida show will be presented in full HD quality from multiple camera angles to specific regions and OBITUARY will be in live chat mode for the duration of each show! The show will remain On Demand to fans who initially purchase the stream to watch as many times as they wish.
Said the band in a collective statement: “We couldn’t be more excited about watching this stream with our fans! We have performed this classic set list on every corner of the planet, so for us to have the chance to watch it live and chat about it with the fans we’ve been playing for all these years is amazing. We are celebrating 25 years since the release of Slowly We Rot and we want you to party with us!

ARMAROTH – From Kranj, Slovenia cometh the Death Metal carnage of ARMAROTH. This is underground Death Metal to savor and enjoy like an ice-cold 6 pack of ale on a hot Summer’s afternoon or a cold day in Winter… take your Metal pick! ARMAROTH plays their Death Metal in the vein of Six Feet Under and Obituary and seemed to have taken their deathly influence quite well from listening to Death and Cannibal Corpse as well.
Putting our Death Metal icons aside, ARMAROTH come across loud and deadly clear that they are original. With impressive melodic guitars and bone tearing riffs featured, the overall depth of sound from this band is one of total F’n destruction upon its surroundings; therefore I cannot pigeonhole ARMAROTH as only a Melodic Death Metal band. In other Metal words, ARMAROTH plays F’n slash-to-the-throat Death Metal. Very bloody nice, indeed.
After the 1:14 seconds of spoken intro, all Death Metal hell breaks loose from ARMAROTH and their debut False Vision EP! False Vision carries through on what I was (hopefully) anticipating: heavy grooves, scathingly heavy drums with pissed-off and death ridden vocals that are all like a death strike, straight from the gates of hell itself! Hail underground Death Metal… and ARMAROTH is another potent reason why! Metal be thy name.
ARMAROTH:
Filip Košnik – vocals
Klemen Govekar – guitars
Martin Jagodic – guitars
Andrej Gregorc – drums
Dino Rebolj – bass

From ARMAROTH:
Armaroth is a brutal music machine that dares to deliver an experience beyond the horizons of comfort. The gears started turning in 2008, launching chaos and destruction of the mind, which were incarnated in 2013 as the False Vision EP. The EP’s first listeners have reported severe damage to their perception of the world and of themselves. The machine is honoured and eager to continue its work. So far it has dominated most of its homeland stages and that is only the beginning. Listen and test your truth. Armaroth will see you soon!
Are you ready for “Austrian Neckbreaking Death Metal”? Good, because we’re welcoming OUTRAGE to the Massacre Records family!
Founded in late 2000, OUTRAGE played Death Metal since their very beginning – influenced by both US Death Metal heroes as well as Classic Metal and Rock legends, like AC/DC or Sepultura.
They released their first demo “and deeper…” in 2002 and the first studio album “Switch Off The Pain” followed in 2006.
OUTRAGE played numerous shows in Europe and supported bands such as their Massacre Records label mates Disbelief, Mastic Scum and Debauchery and went on mini-tour with Lay Down Rotten in G/A/S in 2009.
Some of you have probably seen them live at Austria’s Metalfest (2010) and Extremefest (2012), Slovenia’s Metalcamp (2005/2007/2008/2010) or Germany’s Walpurgis Metal Days (2007/2010), among other festival appearances.
The band’s second album Contaminatedwas recorded at the Kohlekeller Studio and was released 2009 via Maintain Records/Twilight-Vertrieb.
OUTRAGE’s typical trademarks are brutal grooves, blistering riffs and aggressive breakdowns paired with lyrics about anger, melancholy, frustration and social criticism.
The guys entered the Kohlekeller Studio again in March 2011 and recorded their upcoming album Brutal Human Bastard, which is going to be released in autumn 2013 via Massacre Records!
DEBAUCHERY – Releasing on August 2nd, 2013, via Massacre Records, is one hell of an album straight from hell that I’m gratefully addicted to: Kings Of Carnage from Debauchery. This band of Metal hell assassins blend a fascinating mix of Death/Melodic Death Metal, with straight-up Thrash grooves wrapped around a powerful Metal sound; all coupled with Death and Blackened vocals with spine cracking, hellish gang vocals for good Metal measure.
There is plenty of Heavy Metal thump-and-stump across Kings Of Carnage and it’s riff-infested to the maximum Metal potential! The title track alone is worth the price of Metal admission here and Debauchery are not just convincing with their Metal; they are F’n convincing. This is an album that is quite ruthless with its ability to make my neck ache from headbanging and I’m very thankful for it.
Lyrically vicious and memorable as all hell, Kings Of Carnage reminds me that blood-soaked songs of carnage can pack my brain with true deathly bliss. Just a grand kick-to-the-Metal-ass release from Debauchery. With Victory Awaits, Debauchery also reminds me of just how victorious their new album truly is and I’m more than willing to join the Debauchery Motherfuckin Family. Metal be thy name.

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER are currently leveling stages as part of this year’s Van’s Warped Tour. At the Ventura, California stop of the trek, Brian Eschbach, RyanKnight, Max Lavelle, and Alan Cassidy, recorded their parts for Into the Everblack from the band’s new album, Everblack. The performance is streaming now at metalblade.com/bdm. Additionally, videos for each individual performance have been posted at youtube.com/blackdahliamurdertv.
Audio Hammer producer Mark Lewis comments specifically on Knight’s leads on “Everblack” stating, “Ryan Knight’s leads on ‘Everblack’ are nothing short of phenomenal. I grew up listening to the best in the era of shred, and I can honestly say these solos rank up there with the best, and beyond. They are not just technical solos in the athletic, ‘look how fast I can play’ sense; there is truly amazing harmonic content going in these leads. Any educated player will realize that the chord changes he is playing over are far more complex than anything you typically find in metal. Mix all that with absolutely world-class tone and vibrato, and you really have an amazing piece of work. It does not get better than this.”
THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER’s new music video for “Goat of Departure” was also recently made available, and be seen on youtube HERE. The video, directed by Ben Mayer, was filmed in the band’s hometown of Detroit last month. In typical TBDM fashion, it is over-the-top and even features the return of a classic TBDM character, and a real, live goat.

Black Death Metal Thrash demons ACHERON have completed the recording process for their upcoming Listenable Records release, Kult Des Hasses. The album is now set to enter the mixing and mastering phase.
ACHERON will be doing a mini-tour with INCANTATION in late July. The band has enlisted DISMEMBERMENT guitarist Jacob Shively to fill the slot of second guitarist. When asked if Shively would be their new permanent second guitarist, ACHERON founder Vincent Crowley stated:
“Jacob is a talented guitarist and fan of the band. His group DISMEMBERMENT opened for ACHERON a few times and I really liked them. That is why I asked him about filling in. But we are taking baby steps. We’ve learned from past experiences not to just hire someone right away. For now he is playing with us for all upcoming live shows. We’ll just have to see if it progresses into something more. But we are indeed open to the idea if the dedication and chemistry is there.”
Vincent Crowley – bass, vocals
Kyle Severn – drums
Art Taylor – Guitar

DEHUMAN REIGN – Releasing on July 26th, 2013, via FDA Rekotz is the menacing debut album, Destructive Intent, from Berlin’s Death Metal squad: Dehuman Reign. With (about) 20 minutes of face-melting Death Metal to be devoured on Destructive Intent, the keep it short, fast and deadly approach in which Dehuman Reign ventures into is not a bad idea at all. The shortened album approach in Metal has succeeded in the past, with Slayer’s Reign In Blood being the untouchable template for generations of bands and fans to savor.
Here we have Dehuman Reign and not Slayer, so the comparisons can stop with lengths of albums. With that said, Dehuman Reign rages along with a Gore Metal meets Death Metal sound; a blanket of sound that’s terrifying enough to put some of your worst nightmares to their knees. Morbid vocals and extreme speed musically, the two marry into each other with a perfection that only we Death and Gore Metal fans can wholly appreciate.
With killer album art and equally killer songs, what more can any savvy Death/Gore/Extreme Metal fan want? I’ll tell you this much, with this album playing and the lights turned off, Dehuman Reign easily can scare the shit out of me; especially the evil provoking spoken word tracks of: Invocation I Black Seedand Invocation II Scorched Earth. Whatever the deadly case may be, the melancholic vibes and darkness that lurks behind these spoken words are what keeps me up late at night and I’ll never learn my lesson; cause this is the underground Metal I crave for. Metal be thy name.
DESTRUCTIVE INTENT – Track Listing:
Prelude To Perdition
Extinction Machine
Invocation I Black Seed
Irreversible Soul Consumption
Staring Beyond The Edge Of Time
Invocation II Scorched Earth
Veil Of Ignorance
Masks Of Sorrow
Destructive Intentwas mastered by Matias Ahonen at Finnish Audiamond Studio (Solstafir, Hour Of 13). The album’s cover art was masterfully drawn by Dedy of Badic Art (Demonical, Goregast, Skeletal Remains).
Aeonic Obliteration, the debut full-length from Erie, Pennsylvania-based death metal henchmen EXTINCTION PROTOCOL, is out now via NYC-based D.I.Y. label P2.
Merging modern tactics with primal, classic death metal vitality, EXTINCTION PROTOCOL bridgesschizophrenic old-school riffage with overpowering breakdowns. Their debut album Aeonic Obliteration lyrically scrutinizes the greed and corruption of mankind thus concluding humanity’s eventual downfall due to genetic testing and world altering events. With nine devastating songs packed into a nearly thirty-three minute event horizon, Aeonic Obliteration features stellar production values courtesy of Ivan at Anthropocide Studios (Abominable Putridity) and full-color cosmic destruction ala JoeJesus of DeviantArt.
Aeonic Obliteration can now be streamed in its entirety and purchased at the P2 Bandcamp RIGHT HERE,and the ultra-affordable CD version ordered HERE.

METAL PRAISE:
“Each song is just a journey of its own and will really get you banging your head and just turning up the volume and just listening to the sound of why death metal will never die. This record is one bad mother fucker, brutal and intense from start to end. 9/10” – WickedChannel
“Anyone looking for a new up-and-comer from Pennsylvania who holds true to the old ways ov brutal death metal while still keeping things interesting should definitely keep their eyes on Extinction Protocol! 92%” – Absolute Hell
Celebrate your Friday with a hearty dose of Seventh Swamphony, the impending new full-length from Finnish Death Metal instigators,KALMAH, currently streaming in its entirety via Revolver Magazine.
Recorded at Tico-Tico Studios in Kemi, Finland, the follow-up to 2010’s critically acclaimed 12 Gauge release was mixed and mastered at Sweden’s Fascination Street Studios by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, Paradise Lost, et al) and showcases the Oulu outfit’s signature brand of frantic, yet melodic death metal tempered here by a new-found epic mournfulness.
Reaping critical accolades both domestically and abroad, Metal Reviews crowned KALMAH’sSeventh Swamphony “Album Of The Year,” calling the band “one of, if not the finest, melodic death metal bands.” Said Metal Temple is an 8/10 review: “From their blistering opener of Seventh Swamphony, to the windmill inducing finale TheTrapper, this album keeps the energy flowing nonstop. Pekka Kokko’s vocal work is solid with vicious growls and soul squirming screams that give an unearthly feel to the album.”
Adds New Noise Magazine: “Seventh Swamphony features quality over quantity and you will be aware of that on the first listen. Never have I heard the band so supercharged and ready to slaughter as they are featured here. Even the slower paced ‘Windlake Tale’ correctly utilizes a death growl vocal approach to its melodic folk and works well as a blueprint to show Amorphis what they’ve been doing wrong all of these years. Quite simply put, Seventh Swamphony might very well be one of the heaviest folk metal albums that I’ve heard in years and should go down in the band’s history as one of their most memorable releases.”
Hear for yourself, courtesy of Revolver Magazine at:
Seventh Swamphony will be released in North America via Spinefarm Records digitally onJune 18, 2013 and on CD June 25, 2013. For preorders, point your browser HERE. Additionally, if you missed it, check out the band’s “Seventh Swamphony” video courtesy of Metal Injection HERE.
French Blackened Death Metal mongers OTARGOS have inked a worldwide deal with Listenable Records for the release of the band’s recently completed new album, ApexTerror.
Apex Terror displays a fresher, stripped down and more intense style of songwriting that draws from the catchier end of Death Metal and obscure Thrash. Lyrically, the album is an exploration of the darker side of humanity. Apex Terror will be out in North America in the fall of 2013.
Live footage of the brand new song For Terra, which features BENIGHTED’s Julien Truchan on guest vocals and will appear on Apex Terror, has been posted HERE.

Apostasy Records and Swiss Death Metal act DISPARAGED have recently entered into an unholy alliance that will see the band release their upcoming fourth album on the label.
DISPARAGED exists to dispel any existing stereotypes regarding the laid-back nature of the Swiss. The quartet rounds off dynamic drums and harsh brutality with downright virtuous melodies within the solos. Their compositions are similarly conclusive and thrilling. DISPARAGED was formed in 1999 and since released a trio of well-received albums – Overlust, Blood Source and The Wrath Of God. Their most recent release featured the mixing and mastering skills of Jacob Hansen (Aborted, Destruction, Pestilence).
DISPARAGED commented: “We are very proud to have found in Apostasy Records a for us perfectly tailored partner. We are looking forward to the cooperation and the release of our new album!”
Additional details and updates are coming soon.
