New Album Ascension Of The Ineffable Out Oct 2026 via Gore House Productions

Traumatomy announces their fourth full‑length album, Ascension Of The Ineffable, due out on October 30th, 2026 via Gore House Productions. After two years of work, the upcoming record is their rawest, sharpest, and most brutal offering yet, elevated by the distinctive production of Konstantin Ogarkov, whose approach brought a uniquely savage edge to the album’s sound.

This next offering delivers a faster, rawer, and even more brutal evolution of Traumatomy’s sound while keeping their familiar lyrical themes intact. Each track highlights a different facet of their extremity. “Entropic Obliteration” sets the tone with full-force brutality, “Pervigilium of the Obsolesced Xenolith” pushes speed and blast beats to the limit, and “Endoneural Parasitosis” leans into sickening breakdowns. “Repugnant Coalescence” stands out as the drummer’s most balanced pick, while the title track “Ascension Of The Ineffable” embodies the album’s concept and atmosphere.

“Visceral Maceration” brings groove-heavy slam energy, “Autognathic Avulsion” blends grooves, blasts, and atmosphere, and “Xeno‑Homeostasis” closes the record with a perfectly structured finale. The cover art, created by legendary artist Jon Zig, captures the exact atmosphere and cosmic horror the band envisioned. As Traumatomy put it: SLAM IS THE ONLY WAY!

The first single to be unleashed, “Visceral Maceration”, was written specifically for fans of true slamming brutal death metal.

Formed in 2012 by guitarist and main songwriter Constantine Chevardin (Disfigurement Of Flesh, Nauseating, Morphogenetic Malformation) and Haruka Kamiyama (ex‑Gorevent / Medic Vomiting Pus), Traumatomy quickly became a cult force in the brutal death metal underground. PAARA – Finnish Black Metal Shadows Return With Third Album: Laulut tulen ja jään

From the darkest corners of the North, PAARA return to the surface with their third full-length album, Laulut tulen ja jään, set for release on October 30th, 2026 through Dusktone.

For more than a decade, PAARA have cultivated a vision of Finnish black metal that feels deeply rooted in the landscape that surrounds them. Their music evokes the bleak winds sweeping across the fells, the thousands of lakes and the endless forests of Finland, drawing on the darkness of the old world while allowing moments of unexpected beauty to emerge from within it.

Formed around fifteen years ago, PAARA have developed into an entity that thrives on contradiction: brutal yet beautiful, harsh yet strangely comforting, black as the northern night yet capable of revealing flashes of warmth beneath its frozen surface. The band’s modern manifestations began with Yön olevainen puoli (2015) and Riitti (2018), establishing a distinctive approach to atmospheric black metal that balances aggression with a strong sense of melody and place.

After seemingly disappearing from view around 2019, PAARA were never truly gone. The entity had simply retreated into the wilderness, gathering strength and tracing the roots of its inspiration through the darkest reaches of Northern nature and the distant past. Now, in 2026, it emerges once again with Laulut tulen ja jään, most expansive and dynamic manifestation yet.

The album moves constantly between razor-sharp black metal assaults and more majestic passages, with clean vocals and choral arrangements often amplifying the grandeur of its most imposing moments. Yet PAARA refuse to settle into a predictable pattern. Their compositions are full of structural turns and unexpected developments, allowing delicate atmospheric passages to surface between the harsher sections.

A particularly important role is played by the guitars, with acoustic passages adding an unexpected fragility to the album and creating moments of stillness within its otherwise turbulent landscape. These quieter sections never feel ornamental: they become an integral part of the compositions, opening new perspectives before the music inevitably plunges back into darkness.

The songs on Laulut tulen ja jään are sharply defined and deliberately varied in their construction. Some unfold across more than ten minutes, patiently developing their ideas and allowing the atmosphere to evolve, while shorter pieces take a more concentrated approach, extracting their impact from carefully shaped moods and textures. Despite the breadth of ideas at work, the album remains remarkably fluid, with each composition finding its own path without disrupting the overall flow

Rich in detail but never cumbersome, Laulut tulen ja jään finds PAARA at their most expressive. Riffs, choirs, clean voices, acoustic guitars and atmospheric passages become different facets of the same northern vision, creating an album that can be both savage and majestic, intimate and imposing.

The old entity has returned. The darkness of the North has found another voice.

JUPITER CYCLOPS Announces New Album One Eye Opens and Reveals Music Video “Who Are They Foolin’?”

Phoenix, Arizona heavy metal band JUPITER CYCLOPS will release their sophomore album, One Eye Opens, on November 20th, 2026 via Rockshots Records. Building on the foundations of their 2024 debut, Age of the UFOnaut, the band pushes its sound further into classic heavy metal and ’80s territory while retaining the heavy ’70s rock influences at the core of its identity. The album’s first single and opening track, “Who Are They Foolin’?”, is out now.

With One Eye Opens, Jupiter Cyclops expand on the sound established with their debut, bringing more of their ’80s influences to the surface. Across eight tracks, the album moves through traditional heavy metal and NWOBHM foundations while exploring proto-thrash, slower melodic songwriting and more atmospheric arrangements.

The album was written against a backdrop of what Jupiter Cyclops sees as a society increasingly shaped by manipulation, control, and fear. Those ideas inform both the title “One Eye Opens” and several of the songs, creating a thematic thread around awareness and the moment when accepted realities begin to be questioned.

Rather than following a single musical formula, the record moves between direct heavy metal, classic hard rock influences, and longer, more developed compositions. It culminates in the 7:39 “The Initiates” before closing with its title track, “One Eye Opens”.

Leading the album is its first single, “Who Are They Foolin’?”, a track that introduces the heavier side of the new material.

The song has roots that stretch considerably further back than the album itself. Its original idea was written by bassist Jake Melius when he was just 16 years old, before eventually being developed into its present form with Jupiter Cyclops. Written by Melius and guitarist Dustin Lyon with lyrics by Aaron Peltz, the track draws from early thrash while incorporating elements associated with Iron Maiden and Deep Purple.

Musically, “Who Are They Foolin’?” combines heavy riffing with melodic guitar work and Peltz’s commanding vocal delivery. Lyrically, the song functions as Jupiter Cyclops’ protest song, addressing power and the ability of a relatively small group of people to exercise a disproportionate degree of control over others. In that respect, the track provides a direct entry point into the wider themes explored on One Eye Opens.

“One Eye Opens” was recorded at The Ripper’s House, produced by Jupiter Cyclops and mixed by Dustin Lyon, with cover artwork by Mashai Fattahi.

ISKALD: Norwegian Melodic Black Metallers Release Second “Curse of the Mind” Album Teaser

Norwegian melodic black metal veterans ISKALD have unveiled the second official teaser for their upcoming sixth full-length album, Curse of the Mind, due out on September 25th via Dusktone. Following the first preview, this new teaser offers another glimpse into the album’s dark and expansive atmosphere, bringing together further excerpts from across the record.

Rather than revealing a single composition in isolation, the teaser highlights the different shades that shape Curse of the Mind from its melodic black metal foundations to its more imposing and atmospheric passages, offering a broader taste of what ISKALD have prepared for their return.

Following the acclaimed Innhøstinga (2018), the new album marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band after signing with Dusktone in early 2026. Available on colored LP, black LP, CD Box and CD, Curse of the Mind was recorded during the summer of 2025 at Strand Studio in Beiarn, mixed and mastered by Hallstein Sandvin, and features artwork by SG7 Graphics.

For over two decades, ISKALD have stood among the leading names in Norwegian melodic black metal. Now performing as a five-piece, the band expands its trademark northern sound with its most ambitious and immersive work to date.

“Undone” is the latest single from alternative metallers ENTHEOS. The track comes by way of the band’s impending new studio offering, Empty On The Inside, set for release on October 23rd via Metal Blade Records. Serving as the definitive centerpiece of the record, the song effortlessly channels the untamed, emotional energy that characterizes the album as a whole.

Comments vocalist Chaney Crabb, “‘Undone’ is a dark, visceral song that’s about the confrontation of the guilt that you’ve become the person you always feared you’d be. It’s the grief of realizing that you cannot turn back time and change the things you’ve destroyed. Lyrically, it’s incredibly raw and we feel that musically, it matches the lyrical content perfectly.

“We’ve wanted to experiment with more of an industrial sound for a long time and writing this song came incredibly naturally to us. Though it may be one that surprises people who listen to our band, it’s one of the most ‘true to ourselves’ songs we’ve ever written. We can’t wait to expand even more in this sonic territory.”

Empty On The Inside is the most ambitious and fully realized album of ENTHEOS‘ career. Featuring vocalist Chaney Crabb (voice actress for Jill Valentine in Dead By Daylight) and multi-instrumentalist Navene Koperweis (ex-Animals As Leaders, Animosity), alongside guitarists Scott Carstairs (Fallujah) and Michael Stancel (Allegaeon), the record captures the band at their most collaborative and creatively unified.

While earlier material often highlighted the technical brilliance of Crabb and Koperweis, this time all musicians came together as a true unit during the writing and recording process. The result is a more cohesive, focused, and dynamic album, one that still delivers the jaw-dropping musicianship, intricate performances, and progressive intensity the band is known for, while also embracing tighter songwriting, stronger hooks, and a deeper melodic presence. LIGATURE MARKS Release New Single And Video, “Weapons”

LIGATURE MARKS presents a brutal new offering in “Weapons.” The single release unveils their darker side as it deviates away from the band’s typical sound to incorporate elements of deathcore and industrial. “Weapons” provides a first glimpse at LIGATURE MARKS‘ forthcoming sophomore full-length album which sees the band pushing the boundaries of their sound.

On “Weapons” vocalist Ben Charles shares: “We wanted to make something that felt dangerous, something that was truly evil, from the song itself to the visuals. This one isn’t meant to feel like a warm hug, it’s meant to make you feel uneasy”.

Dissonance bleeds through the track, connecting the sinews of the bloodthirsty verses and anthemic choruses, marking a triumphant debut from Brad Leadham (keyboards, samples). The accompanying music video draws inspiration from the band’s passion for the horror genre. Guitarist / Director Karl Whinnery: “I told the band, think serial killer’s crawlspace, with a dash of Sicario thrown in.”

“Weapons” was recorded at Falcon Recording Studio with producer and mixing engineer Gabe Johnston. The track was mastered by Troy Glessner. Cover artwork is by Benjamin Charles.

Based out of Portland, Oregon, LIGATURE MARKS formed in 2017 and released their debut album, Set Oceans On Fire, independently in the same year. DYSTOPIA A.D. Announce Forthcoming Album Wasteland Empire – Unveil New Single “Breath of Decay”

Progressive death metal act DYSTOPIA A.D. announce the upcoming studio album Wasteland Empire, alongside the unveiling of the new single “Breath of Decay.” Wasteland Empire is scheduled for independent release on January 15, 2027.

With “Breath of Decay” DYSTOPIA A.D. demonstrate their appreciation of genres both within and beyond metal. Musically, “‘Breath of Decay’ begins with frenetic Latin percussion in a nod to ‘Chasin’ the Voodoo’ by jazz fusion legend Al Di Meola before making way for dissonant mid-paced black metal riffage accompanied by ferociously snarled vocals,” the band explains.

The single conjures imagery of a natural landscape awash with waterways contrasted against a shadowy darkness of negative emotions. “Lyrically, ‘Breath of Decay’ transports the listener to the backwaters of the Louisiana bayou while exploring themes of guilt, fear, and helplessness, invoking an unshakeable feeling of panic”.

Wasteland Empire was produced, mixed and mastered by DYSTOPIA A.D.. Additional percussion on “Breath of Decay” was performed by Gabriel R. The band’s logo is by Luciferium War Graphics, with the album cover artwork by Hans Trasid of Dis-Art Design.

Formed in Passaic, New Jersey, in 1984, WHIPLASH quickly established themselves as one of the defining forces of the 1980s East Coast thrash metal scene. Spanish Dark Metallers CRIMSON COVEN Releasing -I- The Forge on Cruz Del Sur Music

Enigmatic, dark true metal from Spain! 

Mysterious Spanish quintet Crimson Coven have arrived with their triumphant first full-length, -I- The Forge, a stout, time-honored collection of true metal anthems in the spirit of early Candlemass, Manowar and Mercyful Fate! 

Spanish metal outfit Crimson Coven released its debut demo, -0- The Genesis, in 2025. The demo was issued covertly. No pre-release hype. No warning. Instead, -0- The Genesis fulfilled Crimson Coven’s initial promise of simply letting the music do the talking.

The demo featured four songs expertly crafted in the mold of early Candlemass, Manowar and Mercyful Fate, with prevailing swaths of more recent doom entries such as Sorcerer, Argus and Atlantean Kodex. It is an unbeatable combination that earned the quintet praise within the metal underground and quickly set the stage for their first full-length and initial Cruz Del Sur Music release, -I- The Forge.

The nine songs assembled across -I- The Forge are lavished with atmosphere and darkness, honoring Crimson Coven’s own “Spell-Forged Heavy Metal” tag that is no doubt sure to appear on the back of t-shirts. The band’s purpose was resolute when they gathered to write and record -I-The Forge. They wanted to build upon what they started with -0-The Genesis with songs that are expressive and emotionally deep, that carried a magical atmosphere to go along with carefully crafted instrumentation and vocal melodies and lyrics that revisit the myths, legends and historical stories through the lens of social justice.  

Atmosphere is core to the band’s sound, it permeates across the eponymous “Crimson Coven” and the sprawling, twin-guitar-driven “Lockheed Electra.” And unlike many of their true metal brethren, Crimson Coven go headlong into rapturous mid-tempo anthems that are tailor-made for headbanging and festival sing-a-longs.

Case in point: The epic “The Birth of the Serpent” and “Crowns of Greed.” Closing it all up in glorious fashion is “Unleash the Kraken,” a melody-wielding and triumphant true metal epic for the ages. Adding to that is the album’s cover, which was created by Misanthropic Art, symbolizing corrupt worldly power.

-I-The Forge is the culmination of a journey that began when guitarist M shared with vocalist P that he had some songs that would fit his style of singing. The two immediately began collaborating on music, resulting in the aforementioned 2025 -0-The Genesis demo. From there, Crimson Coven turned into a full ensemble with the addition of drummer T, second guitarist V and bassist J. Their identities are kept secret on purpose, for the music of Crimson Coven is the most important thing in order for the listener to leave all preconceived ideas at the door in the name of spell-forged heavy metal!

-I-The Forge will be available on vinyl LP, CD, and digital formats via Cruz Del Sur Music on October 9th in Europe and November 6th in North America.

AUTUMNFALL – The Fall of the Leafe Legacy Returns Through Finnish Melodic Black Metal on: The Archaic Sins

Finnish melodic black metal veterans AUTUMNFALL will return on September 25th, 2026 with their new album, The Archaic Sins, to be released by Ardua Music. Continuing the path established by their previous work, the album revisits material originally composed decades ago, yet demonstrates how naturally these songs can still impose themselves in the present day.

Formed in Finland in 2019 by Jussi Hänninen, best known as the primary songwriter of Fall of the Leafe between 1996 and 2007, AUTUMNFALL emerged as a continuation of the musical sensibility that characterized the earlier years of that influential band. Joined by vocalist Tero Ruohonen, Hänninen has developed the project into a vehicle for revisiting old ideas while giving them renewed shape and purpose.

Following Ghosts of Light (2021), Bleak (2022) and The Archaic Shadows (2024), The Archaic Sins once again draws heavily from the past. With just one completely new composition, the album is primarily built around songs written between 1998 and 2001, now brought into the present through fresh arrangements and performances.

The result is fluid, finely arranged melodic black metal that never needs grand gestures to make its impact. AUTUMNFALL weave melodies together continuously, allowing guitars and rhythms to move with a natural, unforced sense of progression. The music can evoke wonder one moment and bitterness the next, shifting between emotional shades without ever disrupting its graceful flow.

Carefully considered rhythmic patterns provide a solid foundation for compositions that remain loose and organic, while the constant interplay of melodies gives the album its distinctive character. There is an unmistakable sense of musicians who have spent decades understanding how songs work, knowing when to add detail and, just as importantly, when to let an idea breathe.

Whether described as melodic extreme metal, dark metal or simply AUTUMNFALL, The Archaic Sins offers a sound rooted in experience, melody and atmosphere: material from another era that finds an unexpectedly natural home in the present.

Italian Thrashers HELLMETALL Unleash New Video For Title Track “Mgla” From Upcoming Album On September 4, 2026

Italian Thrash/Death Metal band HELLMETALL has released the official video for “Mgła“, the title track of their forthcoming album, due out on September 4th, 2026 via Rockshots Records.

Originally released as a single on January 31st, 2026, “Mgła” introduced the darker direction of the band’s new material. Now, the song takes on a visual dimension through a video created and directed by Chiara Bettiga, translating its sombre atmosphere and historical subject into images. To date, “Mgła” is the only official video made for the record.

Meaning “fog”, “Mgła” draws inspiration from one of the darkest episodes of the First World War on the Italian-Austro-Hungarian front. The song recalls the gas attacks carried out by Austro-Hungarian and German forces against Italian soldiers during the battle near Plezzo, today Bovec in Slovenia.

The subject reflects the wider concept behind “Mgła“, an album built around events connected to the First and Second World Wars, including stories rooted in Val Resia and the surrounding borderlands, as well as memories handed down through generations. This historical dimension is closely tied to HELLMETALL‘s geographical and cultural background and to the band’s use of Resian, the local Slavic language.

Musically, “Mgła” represents the band’s move towards a darker blend of Thrash and Death Metal with elements drawn from Black Metal while retaining melodic references to the traditional music of Val Resia.

The new video brings the album campaign back to where it began with its title track. Since the release of “Mgła“, HELLMETALL has continued to reveal the record through “Gemona Btg. Doesn’t Exist Anymore” on May 18th and “Afrika” on July 3rd. Each track has offered a different perspective on the album and its historical narrative, with the focus now returning to “Mgła” as the full record approaches.

“Mgła” was written by HELLMETALL founder and vocalist Daniele Micelli, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Davide Zago, with drum engineering by Pablo De Biasi and cover artwork by Manuel Scapinello.

Recently unveiled Norwegian Heavy Metal juggernaut-in-the-making AVRAK was founded in November 2023 by guitarists Anders Hegna (Nød, El Kayenne, Svidd Grevling) and Ted Skjellum; notable for being half of legendary duo, Darkthrone. The pair had known each other for many years, and with a mutual passion for old, classic rock and metal they finally embarked upon this new journey together under the banner of AVRAK.

It quickly became evident that both were on the same page, with AVRAK’s first compositions taking shape within just 5 days. Ted had declared from the beginning that he would not carry out main vocal duties in the band, and so it was Anders, with his own vocal grit a comfortable match anyway, who assumed the role. Several weeks later, Terje Kråbøl (Gjendød, Sarke, Faustcoven) was brought in on the drums and, from there-on, with his percussive presence backing up some thunderous riffing, the creative work accelerated, culminating in the self-titled, hook-laden and doom-laced rock debut, ‘AVRAK’.

Suitably and epically defined as a monumental “Heavy Metal voyage from the peak of the mountains to the depths of the seas”, and delivering themes relating to empowerment in the face of increasingly corrupt times, ‘AVRAK’ is a combination of a vast multitude of influences, as the eclectic, deceptively nuanced nine track offering features a classic heavy metal and doom rock backbone, with further experimentation including synth passages, and even some traces of black metal riffing in its DNA.

‘AVRAK’ was recorded, mixed and mastered in Mølla Studio by Knut Magne Valle, in February 2026.

AVRAK subsequently held its debut show in their local town of Porsgrunn in late April 2026, backed by new bassist & final piece of the puzzle, Steinar Gundersen (Khold, Sarke, Satyricon), with more live shows intended in future to support the release.

PERPETUAL PARADOX Share New Song, “Source of Hate” ~ New EP May Misery Befall You Out August 28

London technical metal unit PERPETUAL PARADOX have launched the newest single off their forthcoming EP,  May Misery Befall You.

“Source of Hate” is among the EP’s more direct and venomous tracks, built around big, punishing riffs rather than guitar fireworks. This approach allowed drummer Harry Cook to go absolutely feral, while the track’s slow, heavy callout is designed for the room to cave in.

Lyrically, the track digs into what happens when people are pushed so far that hate becomes the only thing they know how to give back.

“‘Source of Hate’ was written about the cycle of hate represented as a disease or parasite growing inside somebody,” comments vocalist Adrian Caucelo. “The body horror imagery is there to make hatred feel alive, like something feeding on you and reshaping who you are over time. At the start the hate feels external, like something forced onto somebody else, but by the end the character fully becomes it – ‘I am the source of hate.’ The song is also about people who constantly push and provoke others until eventually they create the exact anger and violence they were feeding in the first place. The ending line ‘you’ll choke on it yourself’ is basically the cycle continuing again instead of ever truly ending.”

May Misery Befall You is a five-song rager pulls PERPETUAL PARADOX back towards a riff-first approach to songwriting – technical death metal with blast beats, shred and melody, without letting the technicality take center stage. After the broader sprawl of their 2025 full-length, Deathwish, the band sought to make something more focused and unified, where riffs, solos, breakdowns and stronger compositional turns feel like proper sections rather than ideas stitched together in the studio.

UMUS – Funeral Doom Project Announce Debut Album, Voidlit, for October 13th ~ First Single “Oblivion” Streaming Now

Remote funeral doom project UMUS will release their debut album, Voidlit, on October 13th, 2026, through Ksenza Records/Aesthetic Death on CD and Aesthetic Death on double LP.

Formed in 2024 through a remote collaboration between three musicians based in different cities, UMUS was born from a shared vision of funeral doom stripped down to its most immersive and atmospheric essence. Drawing inspiration from Ahab, Evoken, Esoteric and the shadowy world of dark ambient music, the project favors atmosphere, emotional weight and gradual development over technical display or unnecessary complexity.

The first single, “Oblivion”, is streaming now at THIS LOCATION.

Spanning more than an hour across five compositions, Voidlit is a monolithic and smoke-shrouded work, built from glacial tempos, layered guitars and cavernous vocals. Yet beneath its imposing surface, the album reveals occasional flashes of light: subtle melodic details and unexpected passages emerge from the haze, giving its long-form compositions a sense of depth and movement.

Rather than treating funeral doom as an exercise in sheer heaviness, UMUS use slowness as a means of immersion. Each composition unfolds patiently, allowing textures to accumulate and emotions to deepen, while small changes in melody and atmosphere assume greater significance within the album’s extended structures.

Conceived as a continuous narrative, Voidlit traces a descent through grief, isolation and spiritual decay toward the gradual disintegration of the self. Personal loss and social alienation give way to an increasingly inward journey, ultimately confronting the emptiness left behind when everything else has fallen away.

The physical editions of Voidlit will also include the exclusive bonus track “Voidlit II”, available only on CD and double LP.

Following the enthusiastic response to their independently released EP The Enemy Within, Invincia return with a song that show the essence of their musical identity, while opening the door to the band’s next chapter. Inspired by the Melodic Power and emotional depth of Savatage, Queensrÿche, Helloween, Judas Priest and Dio, “Unite” combines memorable songwriting with the unmistakable spirit of classic Heavy Metal, approached through a fresh and personal perspective.

Hailing from Athens, Greece, CASKET DWELLER deliver a deeply rooted take on traditional death metal. Formed in 2022, the band quickly established itself within the Greek underground through a series of live appearances across the country.

From the beginning, CASKET DWELLER have built their identity around more than just music: their visual aesthetic draws heavily from classic horror cinema of the 1940s and gothic literature, influences that also permeate the atmosphere of River of Slumber, creating a world where darkness, decay and heavy riffs come together.
