Mastodon – Once More ‘Round The Sun – CD (Photo Credit: Stone/Metal Odyssey)

It’s a bit past midnight, EST, here in Southwest Ohio, as I write this. I became so flustered from watching the various cable news networks that I’ve decided to put together Some Metal and Rock ‘N Roll Thoughts; Connecticut Edition Part Two. With Metal Odyssey, my mind, ears and eyes don’t have to be reminded of the enormity of sadness and war that’s taking place in our world today. Metal Odyssey is an escape, for music fans everywhere.

With that said, even if you don’t believe in a god, take the time to at least wish for a better world; even the smallest acts of kindness can go a long, long way. Try extending a kind act upon a stranger tomorrow and let the fever of goodwill spread. I’m not trying to be Preacher Stone here, I’m just being human. Metal be thy name – Stone.

Now, onto another snapshot of my trip to Connecticut, which took place the last week of June 2014. If there ever was a theme during my trip back to Connecticut, it was to cherish the small joys of life. Enjoy!

The photo (at top of post) of Mastodon’s new CD, Once More ‘Round The Sun, depicts the actual CD I bought on my trip to Canton, Connecticut. I bought this CD at Best Buy and it was on sale for $9.99. I really, really dig Mastodon and I highly recommend their new CD. Mastodon is one of those bands that doesn’t sound like anyone else. The artwork on the CD cover is a FAR OUT TRIP man! Whoa.

Best Buy - Canton CT - 2014 - Stone:Metal Odyssey

Yes, there is a Best Buy just about everywhere! The above photo I took before I entered this Best Buy store in Canton, Connecticut; just a few minutes away from where my father lives. A very clean and organized Best Buy it is, probably the cleanest Best Buy store I’ve ever been in. Truthfully. Whoa.

My Dad - June - 2014 - Stone:Metal Odyssey

I stayed with my father on this trip and cherished every moment I shared with him. We both shared a TON of laughs together… good times, indeed. We both gabbed away with each other, for certain. That is my father, pictured above. He’s a Metalhead, a voluminous book of knowledge and now roots for the Ohio State Buckeyes Football program! Love you dad! Whoa.

Meatball Grinders - George's Pizza & Restaurant - 2014 - Stone:Metal Odyssey

My father and I went out to eat together just one time, on my visit to Connecticut. The eatery we went to was George’s Pizza & Restaurant, located in a (not so large) town called Unionville. A clean environment, pleasant waitress and  good food made us both happy. That’s the meatball grinder I ordered, pictured above. My dad ordered the same, with Bud Lights as our drinks. Neither one of us knew that the meatball grinder came as TWO 12 inch portions! We both could only eat half! Metal be thy name!

I definitely have enough photos and small stories left to deliver a third installment of Some Metal and Rock ‘N Roll Thoughts; Connecticut Edition. If you’ve missed the first edition, just click on the link below! Whoa! Thanks a Metal ton for visiting and reading my blab. – Stone

Boston - Live - Metal Odyssey - June 28 - 2014 - #00012

Boston – live at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, Connecticut, June 28, 2014. Photo credit: Stone/Metal Odyssey

It is midday here in Southwestern Ohio and the weather has done a 180. We’ve gone from Summer’s oppressive humidity to early Autumn’s cool air and crisp breezes, literally overnight. Apparently the Polar Vortex is making its comeback a little too soon. Greenhouse warming be damned. Excuse me as I crack up a bit, after that last line I wrote. I recently took a one week trip up to my original home state of Connecticut. Below is just a snapshot of what I experienced. Enjoy…

_________________________

The photo at the top is from the Boston concert that I and Best Metal Buddy Scott Coverdale went to, back on June 28th of this Summer. Cheap Trick opened the night of Classic Rock bliss, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. That above photo of Boston is the best one I took at their show, with my iPhone. My hands kept trembling while trying to get a good “shot”, plus the row of gals behind us were stomping, screaming and even handing out an unexpected back massage to Stone. Really. That’s Rock & Roll for you. I’ll write a more in-depth review on this Boston concert in the coming days, with Cheap Trick included, of course!

First & Last Tavern - Avon - Photo by Stone Metal Odyssey - 2014

Besides hooking up with Scott Coverdale in Connecticut, my goal was to spend lots of time with my Father; he lives in Canton and it’s a very nice area indeed. One town connected to Canton is Avon. I stopped by the First & Last Tavern for lunch, one afternoon. It’s just as I remembered too! Clean, great food, excellent service and a bar that screams New England. I ate the oven-baked wings with a tossed salad and washed it all down with some Sam Adams Summer Ale. Whoa.

yuengling - promo admat - #20590

Yuengling is still NOT FOR SALE in Connecticut. WTF? Go figure? Heck, Yuengling is brewed right in the grand state of Pennsylvania! I can buy Yuengling in Ohio and that is a very good thing. Whoa.

I hope my Connecticut Edition of Some Metal and Rock N’ Roll Thoughts has been a fun read for you. I’m planning on doing a second Connecticut Edition this week! Connecticut will always be my home; while I’ll always consider Pennsylvania and Ohio my homes as well! Grand States ALL. Metal be thy name – Stone

RAMONES - Promo album pic!

Above: Front cover for debut album RAMONES, released in 1976 via Sire Records. L to R: Johnny Ramone, Tommy Ramone, Joey Ramone and Dee Dee Ramone.

______________________________

It’s an overcast and humid Sunday morning, here in Southwestern Ohio. There are thunderstorms forecasted for later today, due to the cold front coming in from the Northwest. Reports are that some of these storms may be severe. Whoa. Temperatures are to drop to the lower 70’s for this (early) coming week too. That’s early October in July!

On a somber note, everyone at Metal Odyssey expresses condolences to the family, friends and fans of the legendary Tommy Ramone. At only 65 years of age,  Tommy Ramone passed away on July 11th. He was the original drummer for the Ramones and also contributed as a producer and songwriter for the band. Tommy Ramone was the drummer on the first three Ramones studio albums. If there’s a Rock And Roll Heaven, I’m certain the Ramones are now touring up there and making some noise. God bless them all.

Queen - debut album promo pic - #9907

On this day in Rock History, the debut and self-titled album from Queen was released back in 1973. What more can be said? The rest truly is iconic Rock History. By the way, I was only seven years old then. Whoa!

Jon Schaffer, (legendary guitarist & founder of ICED EARTH), has recently undergone neck surgery. Below is Jon Schaffer’s latest update and good news on his situation, as posted on the ICED EARTH Facebook page:

Hello friends,

I’m writing to let you know that I made it through the surgery and am steadily on the road to recovery. The surgeon informed us that everything went smooth during the operation and that I should be back in action within a few months.

Thank you all very much for your support, you truly are the best fans any band could ask for.

Take care and best to you all,

DEF LEPPARD – LEAD GUITARIST PHIL COLLEN KICKS OFF SUMMER TOUR WITH ONE-OF-A-KIND JACKSON® CUSTOM “X-STROYER” GUITAR

Posted in classic rock, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Music, music news, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , , , on July 1, 2014 by Metal Odyssey

Phil Collen with new signature model Jackson PC XSTROYER (2)

New Model Celebrates Collen’s Classic Guitars Made Popular 30 Years Ago

LOS ANGELES – When the Def Leppard summer tour kicked off a week ago on Monday, in West Valley City, Utah, Def Leppard fans in attendance were among some of the first to see the brand new Jackson “X-STROYER” guitar, custom-built for Def Leppard lead guitarist, Phil Collen. Collen decided to showcase the new guitar during the band’s 2014 summer co-headlining tour with KISS.

Collen’s original guitar was popularized by the iconic Def Leppard music videos for the hit singles, “Rock of Ages,” “Foolin’” and “Photograph.” Collen plans on playing his new, custom Jackson during those songs while on tour.

When asked about his new Jackson X-STROYER Collen stated, “This guitar isn’t an exact carbon copy of my Ibanez Destroyer; it’s aesthetically based on the one I played in Def Leppard’s classic videos ‘Photograph,’ ‘Rock of Ages,’ and ‘Foolin’’ in the 1980’s. Somehow that guitar seemed to take on a life of its own with the fans when they saw it in the videos. However, my new Jackson PC X-STROYER is the exact opposite with regards to the body outline/perimeter. The X-STROYER has a mahogany body with a maple top that looks solid black from a distance. But then when you get up close you can see the beautiful wood grain of the Trans Black finish. It has DiMarzio pickups, a Floyd Rose tremolo with FU Tone titanium block and saddles and a Jackson Sustainer/Driver pickup same as I have in my Jackson PC1s. My X-STROYER has a very thick neck, which also helps the tone. This guitar feels and sounds expensive. The intent while building the new instrument was to have a body shape that invokes the ‘spirit/enthusiasm’ of my classic model, but with a twist. Mike Shannon, Jackson senior master builder, really went overboard for me on this one and I think it’s the best Jackson guitar I’ve ever played.”

Jackson has announced plans to release another Phil Collen signature model that will be available to the public in August. The Jackson PC1 Stealth, a limited edition model from the prolific guitarist’s PC line with Jackson, will have two versions of this limited edition model manufactured with only 25 of each currently being built in Corona, Calif.

HELLGATE – Hard Rock / Metal Trio Release Debut S/T EP

Posted in metal music, Music, music news, music reviews, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , , on June 20, 2014 by Metal Odyssey

Helgate - promo cover pic - ep - 2014

Stone Notes: This is HELLGATE. They have earned a ton of support out in the Northwest and in their home base of Montana; and are now looking to brand themselves nationwide. HELLGATE’s debut S/T EP is available for free or name your price on their Bandcamp page (see below).

HELLGATE’s talent and credibility do all the talking on this bragworthy EP, with an impressive mix of many Heavy Rock genres that flows into one original sound. Joel Floyd West has vocals that you’ll remember, cause he’s not trying to sound like someone else. This is a standout underground band and debut EP that I’m giving you all a Metal heads-up on. I’m very pleased, to have this opportunity to feature HELLGATE on Metal Odyssey for the first time. Don’t miss out on HELLGATE. Metal be thy name.

HELLGATE HAPPENINGS:

HELLGATE – Since the bands’ formation in March of 2014, HELLGATE has accomplished a great deal, including an appearance on NBC-TV as well as write ups in a number of local and regional papers including The Lively Times and The Independent.

HELLGATE has already received some national radio airplay and has created a strong web presence in such a very short time as well.

Now, with the release of their Self-Titled Debut EP, the band is ready to go national. The KillHate Tour kicks off July 3rd, and will take the band through MT, WA, OR, CA, and NV. Proceeds from this tour will be donated to NPAP against police brutality.

Haunting grooves, aggressive hooks, and seductive textures describe the organic yet formulaic delivery that HELLGATE has to offer on this 6 song, 24 minute release.

ICED EARTH – Forced To Cancel This Summer’s Festivals And Headline Shows

Posted in Heavy Metal, metal music, music news, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , on June 7, 2014 by Metal Odyssey

Iced Earth - large classic logo - #5

As reported by the legendary Jon Schaffer, on the ICED EARTH Facebook page:

It is with sincere apologies that I write to inform you all that ICED EARTH is forced to cancel this summer’s festivals and headline shows.

As many of you know, I underwent surgery on my neck in the year 2000, due to an onstage injury that occurred in 1996. Since that time, I have battled with this problem, and it has begun to accelerate in the past several months, causing additional issues that can no longer be ignored.

In February, while on tour in Europe, I underwent highly specialized treatment in Germany from a doctor who has helped, among many others, Tony Iommi and Eddie Van Halen. This treatment helped sustain my ability to perform so that we could complete our Worldwide Plagues Tour.

However, I am now forced to take further, more invasive action sooner than I intended in order to maintain my overall health.

Surgery was originally planned to take place in September during our break, but I have now been advised to have the procedure completed sooner rather than later.

As much as it pains me and everyone else in our camp to have to cancel these dates, this is something that cannot be put aside any longer.

Once the surgery and recovery are completed, we will be back to work – healthy, strong, and ready to bring the metal to you, our fans.

Best wishes to you all,

Jon Schaffer

MIKE CAMPESE – NEW CD “CHAMELEON” OUT NOW!

Posted in Guitar, Hard Rock, Music, music news, rock albums, rock guitarists, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , on June 6, 2014 by Metal Odyssey

Mike Campese - Chameleon - promo cover pic - 2014

The long-awaited eighth studio release from Mike Campese is finally here!

Mike Campese is back with a new solo release, titled Chameleon. This is Mike’s 8th solo Cd, it contains 12 new tracks and it is a little over 60 minutes. This Cd really packs a punch! If you heard Mike’s previous Cd’s you will realize that he has really honed his writing and musicianship. The first track “To the 9’s” is slamming, it’s a blistering tune with incredible melody and alone it is worth the price of the Cd. Not only is Mike a guitar virtuoso, but he does sing on a few tracks on this disc as well.

The title track “Chameleon” has some real nice haunting melodies and some nice lush vocal harmonies. There is some serious shredding on this Cd and plenty of melody as well. With the blistering guitar and the Paganini inspired section in the tune “Raise the Bow” and the multiple meter changes in the song “Pasta and Bananas” that progressive rock fans will love. Mike returns with his blues roots on the tune “She Burnt the House Down”, which has some incredible soaring leads that are in your face and some real nice vocal melodies.

Campese gets funky on this Cd as well, the tunes “Funky Monkey Man” and “Firefly in a Bottle”, feature some pretty awesome funk grooves and some nice vocal lines. If you have been following Mike’s music and career, you will know that Mike is known for his great sense of melody and melodic shredding on the guitar. A perfect example of this is the tune “Flashback”, this beautiful ballad was inspired when Mike was living in Hollywood and attending Mi. “Vegas”(playing the slots) is probably one of the most unique tunes on the Cd. When you are listening to this song, you will think you are in Vegas playing a slot machine. Now lets cross the Pacific Ocean, the Hawaiian volcano inspired tune “Kilauea” erupts with some incredible guitar lines with some in your face guitars.

For the first time on any Mike Campese Cd, Mike has a very special guest, his friend and guitar legend, Vernon Reid of Living Colour. Mike and Vernon are trading off with some crazy solos at the end of the jazzy tune “Do it for the Cats” Mike is a very versatile guitarist and on each Cd he incorporates a little jazz and other styles in his music, which makes him known as a musical Chameleon. The last tune “Meant to Be” is another jazzy tune with a great groove and some very catchy melodies. Mike Campese fans are going to love this Cd and it is the one they have been waiting for.

_________________________________

CHAMELEON embodies the entire essence and culmination of Mike’s years of experience as a composer, guitarist, songwriter and of course includes plenty of serious guitar shredding.

Mike’s upcoming Italy Clinics, Melodic Shred Lessons and hard-hitting progressive rock Music can be seen, heard and PURCHASED NOW here at his Official Website: http://www.mikecampese.com

The US summer is synonymous with bands going on the road and for The Dead Daisies they’ll be spending it on tour with British Classic Rock giant Bad Company led by singer Paul Rodgers and American Southern Rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd for dates in the United States starting July 10.

Following the release of their self-titled debut earlier this year, The Dead Daisies are proud to announce the Face I Love EP, out Friday 1 August. The eponymous single drops Friday 20 June along with an innovative interactive Facebook Application that will allow fans to be a part of the album cover art and music video. The Dead Daisies are happy to announce that they have signed and will release their new single and EP with local indie label Social Family Records in Australia and New Zealand.

“This is the first group of songs that Diz, Marco and I have recorded with the Daisies,” declares Fortus. “I haven’t been this excited about a recording in a long, long time and think they really capture what the band has developed in to over the last year of touring. It’s new music for classic rock fans!”

The touring lineup includes Jon Stevens (Noiseworks/INXS) on vocals, David Lowy (Mink/Red Phoenix) on guitar, Richard Fortus (Guns N’ Roses/Psychedelic Furs) on lead guitar, Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake) on bass, Dizzy Reed (Guns N’ Roses/Hookers & Blow) on keys and are pleased to announce the new addition of Brian Tichy (Whitesnake/Foreigner/Billy Idol) on drums.

“I am PSYCHED to hit, and I do mean, HIT!, the road, as well as every drum I can fit on the riser, this Summer with my buds in The Dead Daisies. We clicked the first time and we get to do it again with some of our favorite bands of all time! Bad Company with Simon Kirke! Lynyrd Skynyrd with good bud Michael Cartellone!! Yeah! My goal; groove hard, have fun, and swing for the cheap seats! I look forward to “A Dead Daisies Summer Of Rock, Volume, Ampitheaters, Power And Friends! See y’all there!!! – Brian Tichy

The Dead Daisies - Bad Company - Lynyrd Skynyrd - promo tour flyer - US - 2014

Despite being a band that consists of seasoned rock veterans, The Dead Daisies celebrate technology and are heavily integrated into social media. On Monday, June 23, 2014 The Dead Daisies will launch the “Face I Love” App on their Facebook page and as well as a mobile app. Created to represent the iconic daisy skull logo of the band, Facebook users will be able to upload an image of the face they love to the App to create a photo-mosaic portrait of The Dead Daisies skull – and make it bloom.

“Face I Love is dedicated to all MUSIC FANS around the world especially THE DEAD DAISIES FANS, because without you, we don’t get to do what we do,” attests Stevens. “It’s like having a massive extended family seeing your smiling faces at our shows and for us that makes it all worthwhile.”

When the project comes to a close on July 27, the photo-mosaic portrait of The Dead Daisies’ floral skull, made up of thousands of images of fans of the band, will be used as the artwork for EP, music video, single and other promotional items. The promotion is a true collaboration between the band and their fans, bringing real meaning to the title of the song, “Face I Love”.

Marco Mendoza affirms, “’Face I Love,’ was written for our fans and all the faces we see out in the audience when we play. I believe it was one of the first songs that we all collaborated on in the studio for the first time and BAM!!  Magic!!”

This will be the bands second tour of the United States, The Dead Daisies were part of the massive 25-date Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival through the US and Canada, along side Alice In Chains, & Jane’s Addiction among others in August and September of 2013.

The Dead Daisies’ self-titled debut album was released in the US and Canada through Caroline/Universal in August 2013 to exceptional reviews and was a featured iTunes release. Their first single “Lock ’N’ Load”, a track co-written by and featuring legendary guitarist Slash received airplay on radio networks across the U.S. including national airplay on SiriusXM satellite radio, both Alice Cooper’s and Nikki Sixx’s popular syndicated radio programs and was named Rolling Stone’s Daily Download.

The video for the single has been shown on over 20 outlets including play on Much Music, which beams into more than 30 million homes across North America. The song also stormed the UK radio airwaves and was placed on a number of key playlists including Team Rock, Kerrang Radio, and went to number 1 on Planet Rock Radio. It has also received spins on the UK’s largest station BBC Radio 2. Their follow-up second single “Washington” was equally successful and went top 20 on the US Rock radio chart (Mediabase).

This year is set to be a busy year ahead for The Dead Daisies with more dates around the world and the global release of a brand new EP and single in July.

CINDERELLA “Stripped” – Live Album Is: Stone’s METAL Pick Of The Day!

5 Out Of 5 METAL Fists!

Metalfistredbckgrndsmall5

CINDERELLA – Any 80’s headbanger and/or Classic Rock aficionado who has seen Cinderella live during any decade knows just how fantastic a live band they are! Collectors Dream Records has released Stripped, a collection of 16 live hits from Philadelphia’s treasured Heavy Rock ‘N Roll band. The songs were recorded over the course of two nights at the Key Club, in Hollywood, during Cinderella’s “Unfinished Business” tour.

The shows took place on October 2nd and 3rd, of 1998, featuring the original Cinderella line-up, with vocalist Tom Keifer out front, along with guitarist Jeff LaBar, drummer Fred Coury and bassist Eric Brittingham. Two bonus tracks (Sick For The Cure & Make Your Own Way) were recorded live in 1991.

Tom Keifer’s sandpapered vocals sound (per usual) fabulous and the band charges out their killer hard and heavy, bluesy Rock ‘N Roll; Cinderella Rock ‘N Roll that is now considered timeless, in my Metal opinion. Even though I’ve wished and waited for a new studio album to come from Cinderella, twenty years to be exact, their back catalog celebrated live on this Stripped album, still sounds more relevant than ever, to me.

This revisit to enjoying live Cinderella from 1998 and ’91 certainly takes me on a feel-good memory trip. Just listening to these guys jam on this album only solidifies my appreciation for the music they’ve created. Metal be thy name. – Stone

MACH22 “Sweet Talk Intervention” – Debut Album From Philly Hard Rockin’ Band Is: Stone’s METAL Pick Of The Day!

5 Out Of 5 METAL Fists!

Metalfistredbckgrndsmall5

MACH22 – The self-released debut album, Sweet Talk Intervention, from Philadelphia’s MACH22 launched on May 6th and it’s a whiz-bang, dandy of a good-times Hard Rockin’ listen! With so many young Hard Rock bands not igniting my adrenaline these last few years, it’s refreshing to exclaim that: MACH22 – Sweet Talk Intervention is Stone’s Metal Pick Of The Day!

There’s truly no moments on this album that are remotely near average. Between vocalist Lamont Caldwell and lead guitarist Sebastian LeBar, with the rest of this ultra-talented band in-between, Sweet Talk Intervention is a Hard Rock album I can listen to repeatedly without feeling like I’ve had enough. With BIG guitars, soulful and truly memorable vocals, coupled with body inducing GROOVES, this is an album and band that YOU NEED to get your senses wrapped around!

MACH22 is a band that has undeniable eye-popping Hard Rockin’ chemistry and it’s all proof positive from my listening to their debut album. MACH22 stands above the crowded field of up and coming Hard Rock bands due their unique ability to bridge the gap between Classic Rock and Hard Rock of 2014. There is so much relevance and Hard Rock substance happening within the songs on this album that it’s actually bewildering to me. My favorite song? Try the entire album. Metal be thy name. – Stone

Celebrating Release of Career-Spanning Box Set & Musical Memoir

Shows Include Return to Hometown of Long Island, Special PBS Taping
at The Iridium in NY and in Connecticut

_________________________________

May 6, 2014 – New York, NY – Joe Satriani will return to the east coast for three special appearances this June to celebrate the release of both, his career-spanning box set, Joe Satriani: The Complete Studio Recordings and his first-ever autobiographical memoir, “Strange Beautiful Music: A Musical Memoir” (benbellabooks.com).

The first of these three shows finds Satriani returning to his hometown, playing The Space at Westbury in Long Island on June 7th. This will be Satriani’s first appearance on Long Island in a number of years and the anticipation level is high. The following Monday, in honor of Les Paul’s 99th birthday, Joe and his band will perform a 2-hour concert at the Iridium in NYC, the home of Les Paul’s legendary, weekly performances for many years.  This event will be recorded for a fall 2014 PBS TV Special called “Front & Center”. Lastly, Joe and the band will wrap their brief east coast run with a stop in Ridgefield, CT for a show at The Ridgefield Playhouse.

Following these special engagements, Joe and his band (Marco Minnemann – drums, Bryan Beller – bass and Mike Keneally – keys & guitar) will head to Europe for a number of Festival appearances and other shows ending in late July.

Joe Satriani: The Complete Studio Recordings, a career-spanning 15-CD library box, including the most comprehensive anthology to date, is also available as a collectible limited edition USB drive, exclusively on satriani.com. The entire collection on the USB will be in 24-bit/96kHz “High-Resolution Audio”. HRA offers Joe’s audiophile fans higher resolution in bandwidth, wider dynamic range, greater detail, and more depth than a conventional CD. The HRA recordings are as close as a fan can get to both the early 1/2″ analog masters and the later high sample rate digital masters. All albums have been re-mastered specifically for HRA delivery by John Cuniberti.

The press response to the career-spanning box set and book have been tremendous with The Hollywood Reporter noting, “Joe Satriani is recognized as one of the greatest guitarists in the world,” while USA Today calls him, “(Satriani)…the raging maestro whose 1987 instrumental Surfing With the Alien won him ax-god status, who channeled every guitarist the Rolling Stones ever had while touring with Mick Jagger in 1988 and who most recently helped classic rock supergroup Chickenfoot race up the charts…”

One of the most influential and respected instrumental rock guitarists to emerge in the past three decades, Joe Satriani is that rare “musician’s musician” who’s crossed over into the mainstream with music that is both sublime and complex, appealing to a wide variety of tastes.

Joe Satriani: The Complete Studio Recordings presents brand-new digital masters, overseen by Joe Satriani, with each CD packaged in a replica cardboard jacket.  The library collection is housed in a specially designed clamshell box with a booklet filled with photos and memorabilia from across the decades.

Joe Satriani: The Complete Studio Recordings is the ideal audio accompaniment to “Strange Beautiful Music: A Musical Memoir,” Satriani’s autobiography (benbellabooks.com), coming out May 6th.
