DISPARAGED – Swiss Death Metal Warriors Signs With Apostasy Records

Apostasy Records and Swiss Death Metal act DISPARAGED have recently entered into an unholy alliance that will see the band release their upcoming fourth album on the label.

DISPARAGED exists to dispel any existing stereotypes regarding the laid-back nature of the Swiss. The quartet rounds off dynamic drums and harsh brutality with downright virtuous melodies within the solos. Their compositions are similarly conclusive and thrilling. DISPARAGED was formed in 1999 and since released a trio of well-received albums – Overlust, Blood Source and The Wrath Of God. Their most recent release featured the mixing and mastering skills of Jacob Hansen (Aborted, Destruction, Pestilence).

This is NIGHBITCH and their 3 song EP, Chainmaker, is so F’n potent that it’s a Metal gift from the Metal Gods; straight from Middle Earth.

ALL 3 songs are like tapping into a keg of Metal whoop-ass and then drinking from said keg!! There’s nothing mathematical about the way NIGHTBITCH plays their Metal; nor is there one micro-second of bullshit to hear. NIGHTBITCH covers the Deep Purple classic, Into The Fire, in jaw dropping Metal style. These 3 songs have kicked my Metal lovin’ ass into submission and I NEED to hear a full-length studio album from these dudes NOW!!

NIGHTBITCH BIO:

NIGHTBITCH formed in the summer of 2009 when Ipsissimus guitarist Ryan “His Emissary” Adams sought an outlet to reconcile his late-bloomer discovery of Ritchie Blackmore’s majestic emanations with his obsession for sleazy 70’s occult / exploitation films and plagiarized Danzig riffs. Adams soon hooked up with celebrated Doom Metal vocalist Phil Swanson (Hour of 13, Seamount, Vestal Claret and many more) through mutual friend Bill Connnolly (whose No Visible Scars label would expose the world to NIGHTBITCH via the Sex and Magic cassette). The band was quickly rounded out by the formidable rhythm section of longtime friends and veteran CT musicians Chris Taylor (Kingdom of Sorrow) and Mark Else (De Omega) on drums and bass, respectively.

In September 2010, after gigs opening for such heavyweights as Pentagram, Black Pyramid, Earthride and Midnight, NIGHTBITCH traveled to Dublin, Ireland as the back-up band for Hour of 13’s live debut at the Dublin Doom Day, playing its own gig as a part of the warm-up festivities. The band brought with it the Sex and Magic cassette, which would sell out of all 100 copies within a month of its release.

Upon returning from Dublin, NIGHTBITCH and Swanson amicably parted ways and Taylor assumed vocal duties. In December, Cyclopean Records issued Sex and Magic on vinyl limited to 350 copies, which also sold out in one month’s time. Analog formats exhausted, Sex and Magic has since entered the digital realm via Austria’s Psychedoomelic Records, where it counts the godly Reverend Bizarre among its labelmates.

With Taylor at the helm, NIGHTBITCH has composed eleven infernal odes to comprise its full-length debut and is set to release the Chainmaker EP to showcase the depravity to follow. Chainmaker contains the originals “Chainmaker” and “Disrober”, closing with a reverent cover of Deep Purple’s “Into the Fire”. It will be released as a one-sided vinyl 12″ by Ear One Productions in a limited edition of 250.

The band is currently courting distributors for both releases as well as labels interested in the full-length, all while continuing to play out, spreading its Hell-ordained gospel of traditional heavy fucking metal… riffs and sleaze with a sensual, occult bent.

PARTNERSHIP WITH REAL ALE BREWING COMPANY PRODUCES IRON SWAN BEER

Spreading their entrepreneurial wings, the band is also pleased to announce the launch of a second branded beer, Iron Swan. The beer, in partnership with Texas-based Real Ale Brewing Company, marks the band’s second foray into the beer universe following the launch last fall of Winters Wolves in partnership with Baltimore, Maryland based brewery Oliver Ales. Iron Swan will officially launch at the end of July with the four Texas shows that begin the summer tour.

Real Ale Brewing Company says the following about Iron Swan:

CIRCLE OF SILENCE – German Power Metal Act’s Fourth Album Nears Release Via Massacre Records

Massacre Records is preparing to release The Rise Of Resistance, the blazing fourth studio full-length from German Metal warriors CIRCLE OF SILENCE, the label having just confirmed July 2nd as the North American street date.

Since 2005 central Germany-based CIRCLE OF SILENCE has perpetuated their brand of rugged, classic but fresh Traditional/Power Metal with a dark edge, comparable to Iced Earth, Savatage, Brainstorm and Sanctuary, their sound growing more potent and epic with each release. Following their 2006 debut album Your Own Story, followed by 2008’s The Supremacy Of Time and most recently The Blackened Halo released in 2011, The Rise Of Resistance boasts fifty minutes of the band’s most striking, solid Metal yet.

Once again the band sanctioned producer Vagelis Maranis (ex-Sanvoisen) in his Maranis Studios (Winter’s Verge, Saidian, Suicidal Angels) for the recording sessions, and brought in Vitaly Alexius/Scitart (Evile, Gainward) for the cover design. DEUS OTIOSUS – Earns Spot At Denmark’s COPENHELL Festival

Danish Death Metallers DEUS OTIOSUS have been confirmed as the last act to complete the line-up for this year’s Copenhell Festival in Denmark.

Tak Rock – an initiative by Danish brewery Royal Beer – hosted a vote between DEUS OTIOSUS and one other Danish Metal act, to let fans decide the final band for the festival. DEUS OTIOSUS won the competition with more than 1400 votes.

COPENHELL is Denmark’s biggest metal festival and takes place June 13th – 15th. This year’s installment will feature the likes of KING DIAMOND, DANZIG, TESTAMENT and many more. For more info, visit http://www.copenhell.dk.

I checked the U.S. Amazon website for this tour edition CD and it was not found. I checked the Best Buy website and they have it! It will be available on June 18, 2013 in the U.S. on Best Buy! The price is $24.99 (U.S.). The list price is a whopping $27.98 (U.S.)!! Whoa!!

* One confusing thing about the Best Buy U.S. website: They list “2” release dates for this Monster – International Tour Edition. Yup. June 10, 2013 is the other release date. Go figure. I’m guessing June 18th is the real release date?

However, I won’t be buying it for just that 1 song. No way. I already bought this bonus track (as a single) on the U.S. iTunes; after already owning the (regular) Monster CD version. iTunes in the U.S. has Right Here Right Now available for sale on their version of the Monster album. I definitely can live without the exclusive tour poster; especially when it’s gonna cost that much money!

Are y’all confused yet? I sure am. This bonus track should have just been released on the Monster CD, from the get-go. Them bonus tracks always seem to cause confusion anyways. Metal be thy name.

Witching Metal Ritual features eight tracks of uncompromising metal glory blending elements of Thrash, Speed, Doom, Black, and Death while anchoring their overall sound firmly within the framework of traditional Heavy Metal.

Members of WITCHES MARK recently commented on WITCHING METAL RITUAL in a string of interviews with the underground Metal press:

“When people think of the U.S. they don’t think of the traditional metal, they think of Britain, Germany… But the United States had Manowar, they had Virgin Steele, they had Slayer… Tons of bands that really were the best out there and that’s what we wanted to showcase on our album because we are American as well.” bassist Andy Gonzalez stated in an interview with SA Musicians Talk Show Radio.

When asked in an exclusive video interview with Robb’s Metal Works to describe what Metal fans can expect to hear on the band’s new album Witching Metal Ritual vocalist and guitarist Robb Bockman had the following to say “I’d best describe it as a bunch of dudes that love Metal and we just play what we wanna fucking hear. It’s a celebration of Metal.”

“Definitely energy, power and attitude…Gotta make a statement, you know?” stated drummer Scott Palmer in an interview with Slayed In Oregon.

Guitarist and founding member Robert Williams added “We were able to bring a heavier, meaner, darker sound.”

Witching Metal Ritual will be released in Enhanced-CD format and will also include bonus video content including a music video for the album’s title track.

The band initially introduced themselves to the Metal underground with a demo recording of their song “A Grim Apparition” shortly followed by an appearance on the Unbroken Metal Records compilation Tribute To Angel Witch with their rendition of “Something Wrong.” Shortly after signing with Heaven and Hell Records, WITCHES MARK released their debut EP A Grim Apparition, garnering favorable reviews from both Metal fans and critics alike.

The band’s debut full-length LP Witching Metal Ritual is set to be released in July of 2013 through Heaven and Hell Records. Blending elements of Thrash, Speed, Doom, Black and Death while anchoring their overall sound firmly within the framework of traditional heavy metal; WITCHES MARK wear their deep appreciation, understanding and pride of the Metal genre proudly on their collective sleeves.

June 7, 2013, Philadelphia – Weedeater and ASG have announced a four-week tour across the United States, kicking off on June 27 in Savannah, Ga. at The Jinx.

The tour comes as ASG celebrate their highest charting and most critically acclaimed album to date, the breakthrough release Blood Drive. The twelve-song collection landed at #15 on Billboard’s Heat Seeker chart and also had impressive debuts on the trade magazine’s Hard Music (#32) and Indie (#67) charts. DYING FETUS – Announce European Summer Headline Tour 2013

Death Metal powerhouse DYING FETUS have confirmed that they will be heading back to Europe this summer on a headlining tour. The tour begins July 24th in Slovenia and runs through August 18th in France. The tour includes appearances at numerous festivals including Brutal Assault, Party San, Bloodstock, Summer Breeze and many more. A complete list of dates can be found below.

Last week the band confirmed a string of Canadian tour dates for later this summer. This run also includes select dates in the US. A full North American headline tour will be announced shortly. The tour is set to kick off August 23rd in Clifton Park, NY and will run through September 3rd in Providence, RI.

Led by founding members Rachel Bolan, Snake Sabo and Scotti Hill, along with powerhouse vocalist and 14 year veteran of the band Johnny Solinger and new drummer Rob Hammersmith, SKID ROW will deliver the best from their catalogue of gold and platinum albums and anthemic singles like “Youth Gone Wild”, “Monkey Business”, “I Remember You”, “18 & Life” and many more. TOAD – Arizona Black ‘N’ Roll Death Miscreants To Release Endless Night LP; Preorders Available

Phoenix, Arizona’s Black ‘n’ Roll Death miscreants TOAD (Take Over And Destroy) are readying to unleash their long-anticipated Endless Night LP. Featuring five cold, cavernous, groove-strewn hymns of chaos and disillusion, the initial scripting process of Endless Night was plagued by various bouts of misfortune including lost rehearsal spaces, run-ins with the law, crippling illness and death. However through perpetual negativity came a primal, disordered source of motivation. Indeed, the malevolent energy captured on Endless Night has inarguably resulted in the band’s most sincerely powerful and cryptically profound output to date.

Endless Night was captured by returning producer/engineer Bob Hoag at Flying Blanket Recording in Mesa, Arizona who worked with the band previously on their mammoth Rotten Tide EP and offers up a strikingly grim cover by Sean R. Williams (Animetalphysical) viewable HERE.
