BONES – To Release “Sons Of Sleaze” On November 18th, Via Planet Metal

BONES – Chicago’s filthiest trio marches out of the sewers of hell with twelve freshly severed slabs of Death Metal sleaze! BONES is back with Sons of Sleaze, the follow-up to their 2011 self-titled release. Recorded with famed producer Sanford Parker (Lair of the Minotaur,Nachtmystium), Sons of Sleaze will be out November 18th on Planet Metal.

Sons of Sleaze delivers its unfair share of nasty surprises, incorporating violent blasts and low-tuned slime with a dirty rock-and-roll backbone that has never been more apparent, especially when it comes to Jon Necromancer’s undead belch! The impossibly heavy combination of Necromancer’s bass and Carcass Chris’s muscular guitar riffs is once again captured in all its devastating glory, and drummer Joe Warlord’s huge vocabulary of patterns and fills keeps the energy level in the red for the entire 37-minute beating that is Sons of Sleaze.

Held together by a cover that could only be called “a new low” for artist Putrid, this album is highly recommended for the rotten-hearted, ill-natured, and furious!

MAMMOTH GRINDER – Declares New Live Actions

Following several other live runs, first bashing a trail across Australia on their first tour of that continent, followed by a tour of the West Coast US including a performance at The Power Of The Riff, Texas brutalizers MAMMOTH GRINDER have declared new live actions for the coming weeks.

These new melees will begin to transpire across North America this weekend, as the MAMMOTH GRINDER crew raids Canada for shows in Montreal this Thursday, November 14th and Toronto on Friday the 15th. Next month they’ll head back out on a trek kicking off December 14th at the first annual Denver Black Sky Festival joining Dying Fetus, Ghoul, Exhumed, Skinless, Power Trip, Weekend Nachos, Iron Reagan and a pile of others. From there MAMMOTH GRINDER will rip through the Midwest and Gulf Coast states with nine more shows with Power Trip, also sharing the stage with Iron Reagan, Windhand and more along the way. The band is currently devising additional tour plans for early 2014.

TIDAL ARMS – Flood The Airwaves With “Molasses;” Song Proceeds To Aid In The Restoration Of Hurricane Sandy-Ravaged Translator Audio And The South Sound Rehearsal Studio

Brooklyn drone-strewn noise rock threesome, TIDAL ARMS, hurl forth another canticle from their forthcoming new self-titled full-length. Titled “Molasses,” the tune — based on the Great Molasses Flood, a real event where a massive tidal wave of molasses destroyed a large area of Boston’s North End in 1919 — is currently monopolizing the airwaves courtesy of Vice/Noisey. All proceeds raised from the sale of the song will be used to help restore Brooklyn’s Translator Audio and The South Sound rehearsal studios, which were destroyed in Hurricane Sandy last year.

Relays guitarist/vocalist Tom Tierney, “Andrew Schneider from Translator Audio has made some of our favorite records, recorded our first 7″ and mixed [TIDAL ARMS debut] The Sun Exploding, and shares our love for the bizarre story of the Molasses Flood. His studio, Translator Audio and The South Sound rehearsal studios, were tragically destroyed in Hurricane Sandy. They’re starting over, and we’re releasing ‘Molasses’ as a fundraiser for the rebuild. Proceeds from the sale of the song go to Translator Audio and The South Sound.”

Describes Noisey of the track, “‘Molasses’ is like a five course meal of musical genres. At first, the song starts off with an ambient spacey vibe before shifting gears into droney, stoner rock. Then all of a sudden, by the fourth minute, we are knee-deep in doomy sludge metal. Subtle changes maybe, but enough to make it feel less like a song and more like a journey through the Lands of Heavy-Ass Rock.”

THE KENNEDY VEIL – Sacramento Death Metal Legion To Release “Trinity Of Falsehood” This January

In 2009, the world bore witness to a whole new brand of brutality. Ascending from the depths of the Northern California Valley, THE KENNEDY VEIL unleashed upon the scene their own fanatical perspective of American Death Metal.

A quartet composed of Casey Childers (ex-Forktung), Gabe Seeber (Alterbeast, Decrepit Birth, ex-Wretched Dawn), Cody Walker (ex-Skribble) and Shawn Peterson, THE KENNEDY VEIL recorded their first album, The Sentence Of Their Conqueror, with engineer Josh Williams at Metal Works Studios and released a compilation of eight visceral tracks which quickly grabbed the attention of the Metal underground. With the release of this album, the band played shows relentlessly with legendary acts such as Cephalic Carnage, Exhumed, Cattle Decapitation, Macabre, Decrepit Birth, Origin, Divine Heresy and Abysmal Dawn.

In 2012, THE KENNEDY VEIL went to work on writing the follow-up to The Sentence Of Their Conqueror and prepared an onslaught of hostile yet dynamic tracks that would come together in the form of Trinity Of Falsehood – a doctrine that will enslave the ears of the lawless and govern the damned into a frenzy of panic. It is an eleven-track offering with an aggressive and unrelenting attitude. The album brings back a familiarity of big choruses and bludgeoning drums, but places its focus on structure.

Notes the band in a collective statement, “We all feel that this album is exactly how we intended it to be and carries a much greater weight and impact which will lead us to be a formidable band in the Death Metal community and we, as THE KENNEDY VEIL, stand firm in the belief that our disciples will enthusiastically devour this new evolution of our sound.”

BEHEMOTH – ANNOUNCES NEW VIDEO, 12” AND SINGLE OFF “THE SATANIST”

A first new sign of life from Polish Black/Death Metal legends BEHEMOTH comes in form of the song Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel of their upcoming new record The Satanist.

BEHEMOTH – The album was produced by BEHEMOTH, Wojtek and Slawek Wieslawscy and Daniel Bergstrand in Hertz Studio. The Satanist was mixed by Matt Hyde (SLAYER) and mastered by Ted Jensen (METALLICA, AC/DC) at Sterling Sound. The cover art, which will also be revealed on December 4th, is a painting by renowned Russian painter and occultist, Denis Forkas. For the cover, Nergal’s own blood was included in the paint. Additional artwork was handled by Metastazis and Zbigniew Bielak.

The Grupa 13 produced video for Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel will also be released on December 4th. The teaser for the video can be seen now here:

The limited edition (2,000 copies: 1,000 white and 1,000 black, 180 gram vinyl) 12″ EP of Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel will be released on December 4, 2013 via BEHEMOTH /New Aeon Musick in Europe and will be released as a gatefold, with each copy hand numbered and signed by the band.

The 12″ EP can be pre-ordered via BEHEMOTH’s webstore (white vinyl and black vinyl) and will contain the first single off of The Satanist, plus two non-album tracks: If I Were Cain and a cover from Polish Post-Punk New Wave legendary band SIEKIERA – Ludzie Wschodu. LORD MANTIS – Chicago Deviants Recording Profound Lore Debut

The deviant sect known to their cult fanbase as LORD MANTIS is currently decimating the innards of hometown Chicago-based Electrical Audio and Soma Studios, harnessing the astonishing madness that is to be the group’s third full-length release.

LORD MANTIS is working in conjunction with Sanford Parker (Twilight, Voivod, Eyehategod, Samothrace), the engineer also responsible for recording the band’s previous two albums. While the newest composition has yet to bear a title, the third installment of the band’s torrid lineage will be their first release for the eclectic Profound Lore Records — following their 2009 Seventh Rule Recordings debut, Spawning The Nephilim, and subsequent 2012 full-length, Pervertor, released by Candlelight Records — and promises to be their most disturbing works yet, crawling forth from some of the darkest recesses of the human psyche.

Having revamped their lineup since their previous releases, LORD MANTIS has inducted Ken Sorceron into its ranks on guitar on this outing, the lineup rounded out by the three founding members, bassist/vocalist Charlie Fell, guitarist/vocalist Andrew Markuszewski and drummer Bill Bumgardner. Additionally, Indian guitarist/vocalist Dylan O’Toole will contribute additional vocals on several of the tracks.

Stated Fell this week in a brief recess between the punishing sessions on these new works: “This record is more serious and dark than our other stuff. We have all been through a lot of really fucked-up shit in recent years, and that’s all showing through in these sessions. We left behind anything slightly sci-fi, nightmarish or casually antagonistic, musically and visually; this time it’s all brutally realistic and ultimately much, much darker.”

More on the pending album will be available in the coming weeks as the sessions conclude, and LORD MANTIS prepares to pillage the populous with their new odes of torment with a Spring 2014 release date being confirmed.

WARFATHER – Death Metal Horde Fronted By Ex-Morbid Angel Frontman Steve Tucker, Confirms Debut Full-Length Details

After months of secrecy spent in the crypts finalizing the details on their debut recordings, today Death Metal horde, WARFATHER, finally declares their battle plans.

The new full-time project fronted by ex-Morbid Angel bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker, WARFATHER was initially announced in mid-2012, but has remained otherwise virtually a mystery until now. As the finishing touches are currently being handled on their debut album, now confirmed to bear the title, Orchestrating The Apocalypse, this band sees Tucker back to fronting a Death Metal outfit after over a decade since his departure from Morbid Angel and over two years since his participation as a vocalist and writer in the well-received Nader Sadek project.

On the impending attack, Tucker states, “I am stoked about WARFATHER and our first album! WARFATHER is more than just a metal band; it is a belief system and a meeting of the minds, the ones that can see what is truly happening in the times we are living in. Orchestrating The Apocalypse is a warning to the eyes that choose to be blind, and a call to arms to the minds that do feel the coming changes. It is pure blackened, apocalyptic Death Metal. Orchestrating The Apocalypse brutalizes in a relentless style that builds on the work laid on the three Tucker-fronted Morbid Angel albums – Formulas Fatal To The Flesh, Gateways To Annihilation and Heretic – resounding with over forty minutes of pure American Death Metal. WARFATHER delivers an intense, debilitating performance that should no doubt please fans of Morbid Angel, Nile, and Behemoth, while also sporadically infusing unique, even bizarre atmospheric elements, elevating the album to a cutting-edge status.

The album was recorded and mixed at Cincinnati-based TME studios by Steve Tucker and mastered by Maor Applebaum at Maor Applebaum Mastering and is now confirmed for release via Greyhaze Records on January 21, 2014 in North America, with a European release date to be announced in the coming weeks.

Chicago Blackened Death Thrash troupe, IMMORTAL BIRD, are pleased to announce the release of their debut EP. Titled Akrasia, the abrasive manifestation of audio filth was recorded at Lo-Tech Laboratories this past summer by unsung Windy City sound sorcerer Jeff Ziolo, mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Isis, High On Fire, Skeletonwitch) at Godcity Studio, mastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, From Ashes Rise, Nails, All Pigs Must Die) at Audiosiege and delivers four scathingly visceral tracks of torment. Led by the diseased vocal oscillations of drummer/front woman Rae Amitay, IMMORTAL BIRD is at once celestial and deadly.

Comments Amitay of the offering:“‘Akrasia’ is the state of acting against one’s better judgment, or weakness of will. The EP is centered around this concept, and the tracks serve to explore feelings of rage, resentment, and anguish that have resulted from ‘akratic’ behavior — mostly my own. The riffs, lyrics, and overall tone are meant to reflect both intensely caustic anger and moments of poignant self-realization. Writing and recording this EP was initially intended to be a cathartic and one-time experience, signifying the beginning and the end of IMMORTAL BIRD, but after collaborating with my bandmates and performing live, I’ve realized that this is a project that will press onward both in the studio and on the road. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to work with Kurt Ballou and Brad Boatright, as they’re complete commanders of their craft. This music could not have been placed in better hands, and that is an amazing feeling.”

With Amitay opting to handle the mic onstage (while tackling drums and vocals on their albums), Garry Naples (Novembers Doom, Kastasyde, Without Waves) was recruited to take on all live drumming duties.

KAYSER – Swedish Metal Band Signs With Listenable Records

Swedish Thrash purists KAYSER have just signed a long-term deal with Listenable Records. KAYSER has just completed work on their Listenable debut, entitled Read Your Enemy. The album is set for release in early 2014. The band is currently working with Sinemax Productions on a video for as-of-yet-unnamed track. More details to come.

KAYSER saw the first ray of light in early June 2004 when Spice (ex Spiritual Beggars), Mattias Svensson (also The Defaced), Bob Ruben (ex The Mushroom River Band) and Fredrik Finnander decided to join forces to create a pure Metal band. The band’s sound is fully immersed in true original Heavy/Thrash Metal genre with emphasis on the muscular songwriting : hammering blistering and catchy riffs one after another, delivering the goods through scorching witty arrangements with fluid virtuosity. Focus always lies on the song, easily identifiable through the supreme vocals by Spice, though the emotional and musical expressions stretch from heavy introvert pounding to pure hate driven ferocity.

“No boundaries and no limits… and that goes for everything,” the members stated initially to set the aim straight. As for comparisons, it might be best described as a mutation of Black Sabbath/Megadeth/Slayer with dips from different good bowls of Classic and Modern Metal. Popular for their incendiary shows, KAYSER enforces the pillars of metal with absolute authority. KAYSER became a much talked about live act among the Metal fans, rampaging cities across Europe with bands like VOLBEAT and more.

SAMOTHRACE – Announces More Tour Dates Through The End Of The Month

As their currently ongoing West Coast tour with winds down, Seattle Doom Metal outfit, SAMOTHRACE, confirms their ongoing forage across the continent through the rest of November.

The current tour, booked across the West Coast with SAMOTHRACE co-headlining each show alongside SubRosa, was altered this week when SubRosa was robbed of their gear, forcing them to bow-out early. As SAMOTHRACE finishes out the tour solo, they’ll continue to tear into the Southern and Midwestern end of the country, with three more weeks of shows set to begin this Saturday in Tucson, Arizona, then snaking through Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Utah and Idaho on the way back home.

Sometimes the best Metal surprises of 2013 come in the most dark and wicked of packages.

Make NO Metal mistake, REPTILIAN DEATH are not taking any prisoners with their Death Metal. This amazing Death Metal band from Mumbai (also known as Bombay) India, justifiably has my Metal endorsement and I’m not letting go! Relentless, furious, (of course, evil) and brain stinging Death Metal is all I hear on The Dawn Of Consummation And Emergence. The quality of musicianship, horrifying and mean-spirited vocals, combined with a trueness to the genre, are the deadly attributes I hear on this album. No over-production and no rats-ass filler; just straight-up Death Metal the way I cherish it, both musically and lyrically. Metal be thy name.

So I wrote him a message if he would be into designing a t-shirt design for us. It turned out great, so there was no doubt whom to ask for the new album artwork for ‘Ghost Empire’! I told him what the album is about and he said that he would love to do it. It didn’t take long for him to come up with first ideas which were amazing! I hope we can work with him on other projects in the future, he is a great guy and easy to work with and I think the result speaks for itself!”

Additionally, Serpents Unleashed debuted at #5 on this week’s Vinyl Albums chart, #7 on the Hard Rock Albums chart, #10 on the Independent Albums chart, #17 on the Internet Albums chart and #20 on the Rock Albums chart.
