Featuring within its ranks some of Sweden’s most esteemed musicians, THE RESISTANCE includes In Flames’ founder (and main songwriter until his departure in 2010) Jesper Strömblad on guitar alongside second guitarist Glenn Ljungström (ex-In Flames, ex-Dimension Zero), vocalist Marco Aro (ex-The Haunted, Facedown) and drummer Chris Barkensjö (Carnal Forge, ex-Kaamos, ex-Repugnant etc.).

Today VISION OF DISORDER confirms that all the proceeds from their upcoming headlining concert in Brooklyn later this month will be donated to the Red Cross, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
What was simply a headlining show for the band has now been dubbed “Picking Up Change: Hardcore For Hurricane Relief.” VISION OF DISORDER initiated this act of support to their community after witnessing the catastrophic demolition across the New York metropolitan area and beyond as Sandy surged through our region on October 29th. VOD, as well as the other bands performing at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on November 24th, will contribute donations to the Red Cross to help aid the decimated areas and many displaced local residents throughout the Northeast as the season grows colder.
In a collective statement the members of VOD had this to say: “Our hearts go out to those severely affected by this tragic incident. Being from Long Island, Hurricane Sandy has (quite literally) hit home for us. The music scene in Long Island, The New York metro area and New Jersey have been so supportive to VOD over the years that we felt donating the proceeds from the Brooklyn show was a no-brainer. We are proud to announce that the opening acts (Primitive Weapons, Yuppicide, Swarm of Arrows) have also agreed to donate their proceeds. We hope that this small gesture can add to the ongoing efforts and help rebuild these traumatized areas. We look forward to seeing you all on Nov 24th to support this cause.”
In addition to the funds generated by VISION OF DISORDER, Yuppicide, Primitive Weapons and Swarm of Arrows at “Picking Up Change: Hardcore For Hurricane Relief” going directly to the Red Cross, show attendees are invited to bring supplies – canned/non-perishable food, batteries, toilet paper, etc. – for area shelters and food banks, as donation bins will be posted outside of the venue. Supplies to aid pets and animals displaced by the storm are also acceptable and will be donated to Last Resort Animal Rescue in New Jersey.
The members of VISION OF DISORDER, in an alliance with Candlelight Records, Earsplit PR, Metal Insider, the Music Hall of Williamsburg and all parties involved with this event, are reaching out to all area hardcore and metal fans to join them on November 24th, not only to take part in what is sure to be a high-action live show, but more importantly to help contribute to this imperative objective of getting the displaced families and businesses back on their feet. The forthcoming album was co-produced by Hatebreed, Zeuss (SUICIDE SILENCE, ALL THAT REMAINS, SHADOWS FALL) and Josh Wilbur (LAMB OF GOD, AVENGED SEVENFOLD). The two tracks, “Refuse The Lie” and “Scratched Off The Map” will showcase the bands dynamic and relentless vision of Metal meets Post Hardcore. Both tracks are brutal to say the least. The B-side, “Scratched Off The Map,” will be limited to this release only.
Lead by heavy weight veterans Karl Buechner of (Earth Crisis/Freya), Mike Couls (Skarhead/ Cro-Mags/Agents of Man), Jamin Hunt (Sworn Enemy/Hatework), Eddie Ortiez (Sub-Zero/Cattle Press/Candiria ) and Pauly Antignani (Sworn Enemy), V.S. has cultivated and honed a style that embraces each member’s experience and history. V.S. unites their strengths and combines their specialized knowledge into a sound that ignites both passion and fury.
The tracks were recorded and produced by Joey Z of Life Of Agony at Method of Groove studios in Brooklyn, NY. The band plans to spend the rest of the year appearing at limited engagements including East Coast Tsunami Fest on September 29th where fans can pick up a limited color version of the release. The news giant known as CNN has finally tripped up BIG TIME my Metal brethren. CNN has messed with Hardcore/Metal legends HATEBREED in a very disturbing way. CNN has insulted HATEBREED and it’s sickening.
What CNN has done: their enormous news platform was used to accuse HATEBREED of being a “white power” band in a CNN Opinion piece, which was written by a highly misinformed Lonnie Nasatir. This unethical, immoral and flat-out WRONG “listing” of HATEBREED in a list of white power bands is more than mind-boggling… it’s defamation of character and a law has been broken. No, this isn’t about an innocent situation of a band being mislabeled. That’s a certified falsity right there. Yes, CNN, your news platform was used to slander HATEBREED and that can’t be denied.
* Here’s a shocker within this shocking story: Lonnie Nasatir is the Anti-Defamation League’s Chicago/Upper Midwest Director.
Placing HATEBREED on a “list” of white power bands is an outrage! A false label! HATEBREED has been a unifying band for all of us fellow Hardcore, Metalcore and Metal fans, regardless of race, religion or sex. The lyrics of HATEBREED have never divided nor spread hate within our Hardcore and Metal families; if anything, HATEBREED has reached out to all fans through their music, concerts and social networks on a continuous level that is stunningly admirable.

Southern Lord Hardcore henchmen NAILS‘ co-headlining tour with Cleveland Hardcore legends Ringworm is set to begin today, Saturday, July 30, at San Francisco’s 924 Gilman.
The Death Comes Ripping Tour 2011 will ruin fourteen cities in a cross-country rampage in into mid-August. In addition to headliners NAILS and Ringworm, support acts Bitter End and New Lows will take part in the melee. The tour surges towards the East Coast over the next two weeks, coming to a close at the massive four-day This Is Hardcore 2011 Fest in Philadelphia, where Nails and Ringworm will play the same night as Youth of Today, H20, Token Entry, Title Fight, Mouthpiece and a ton of other acts.
Following the tour, NAILS return to 924 Gilman as part of a React Records showcase, playing alongside Mindset, Betrayed, On, No Tolerance, Skin Like Iron and more.
