NOBLE BEAST – Confirmed For Warriors Of Metal Fest VII

March 5, 2014 Cincinnati, Ohio – The Warriors of Metal, Inc. non-profit organization is excited to confirm the return of one of last year’s Pre-Fest Showcase feature bands, St. Paul, Minn., Power Metal band NOBLE BEAST to perform at this summer’s Warriors Of Metal Fest VII. NOBLE BEAST will be supporting its self-titled debut full-length, which will be released on March 22. The Warriors of Metal Fest VII will be held June 26 – 28 at O’Shecky’s Live Bar & Grill in Columbus, Ohio.

Band vocalist and guitarist, Rob “Sir Robert” Jalonen states: “Last year’s WOM Fest VI Open Air was a magical experience for Noble Beast, and we are stoked to return as part of this year’s awesome line-up. Last year, Columbus gave us an incredible reception. This year, we plan on giving Columbus the kind of show that its incredible fans deserve. See you there!”

SATAN – Announces First U.S. Live Dates

Legendary NWOBHM band SATAN have announced a series of live dates in the U.S. and Europe.

SATAN is a Heavy Metal band originating from Newcastle, England in 1980, known as part of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement. Though generally obscure throughout their career, the band is considered influential for playing a form of proto-thrash metal that was fairly advanced by the standards of the early 1980s.

Their 1983 debut album, Court In The Act, is now widely acclaimed and regarded by many as the pinnacle of their career, during which the band’s line-up underwent a number of personnel changes and even changes in band name, releasing albums under the name of BLIND FURY and PARIAH, before folding in 1990. Guitarist Steve Ramsey and bassist Graeme English went on to found folk metal band SKYCLAD, while vocalist Brian Ross reformed his original band BLITZKRIEG.

SATAN remained inactive until re-assembling for a one-off gig at Germany’s Wacken Open Air in 2004, and finally reunited in their original Court In The Act line-up for 2011’s Keep It True festival. The band performed at several european festivals in 2011 and 2012 and have announced more festival shows and even a new album for 2013, to mark the 30th anniversary of Court In The Act‘s release. Bow to your knees, SATAN was back with its new album Life Sentence, released in April 2013 on Listenable Records.

Life Sentence was featured on many a “Best Of 2013” lists, and has been heralded as one of the best comeback album of the decade.

February 28, 2014 Cincinnati, Ohio – The Warriors Of Metal, Inc. non-profit organization has confirmed that Boston Power Metal veterans STEEL ASSASSIN will make a much-anticipated return to the Warriors of Metal Fest VII. The band will perform selections from their various releases such as War of the Eight Saints, WWII: Metal of Honor, In Hellfire Forged as well as a few other metallic surprises. The Warriors of Metal Fest VII will be held June 26 – 28 at O’Shecky’s Live Bar & Grill in Columbus, Ohio.

The band collectively states: “In 2013 the Warriors Of Metal Fest VI Open Air demonstrated to us true metal camaraderie, brotherhood and dedication to the art form. We are honored and excited to be part of this event again this year.”

CRYSTAL EYES – Signs With Massacre Records

We’re happy to announce the signing of Sweden’s Heavy Metal quartet CRYSTAL EYES!

The story of CRYSTAL EYES began back in 1992, when Mikael Dahl and Niclas Karlsson formed the band to keep the legacy of Heavy Metal set in the 80’s by bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath.
During the mid 90’s, the band built a strong underground reputation with the release of 4 demo tapes.

The debut album “World Of Black And Silver” was released in 1999, followed by “In Silence They March” in 2000 both via CLM. Both albums received great reviews.

“Vengeance Descending” hit the stores in 2003, released on Heavy Fidelity, and led to CRYSTAL EYES playing at the Sweden Rock Festival in the same year. Mikael handed over the microphone to Daniel Heiman, who was featured as new vocalist on the band’s 4th album “Confessions Of The Maker” (2005).

Also in 2005, CRYSTAL EYES returned to Sweden Rock as opening act. This gig was the only one with Daniel on vocals, who was then replaced by Søren Nico Adamsen in late 2005.

The two following albums “Dead City Dreaming” (2006) and “Chained” (2008) were both mixed by Fredrik Nordström, with whom the band once again worked on the upcoming album.

Søren Nico Adamsen left the band in 2009 and Mikael took over the microphone again.

CRYSTAL EYES celebrated the band’s 20th anniversary in 2012 with special gigs including former band members and songs from every record. In the past decades, CRYSTAL EYES also supported bands like Blind Guardian, Yngwie Malmsteen and Candlemass.

CRYSTAL EYES’ new album “Killer” is set to be released later this year via Massacre Records!

Band vocalist Nina Osegueda states: “Playing at Warriors of Metal is a dream come true! I’ve wanted to play this fest for years, so I’m hella-excited to finally be able to not just play with these bands, but see them too!”

EDGUY – Release Album Cover Artwork For “Space Police – Defenders Of The Crown”; Also Announce European Tour!

On April 18th EDGUY’s 10th studio album SPACE POLICE – Defenders Of The Crown will hit the stores worldwide, followed by a world tour starting in September. The band have just released the cover artwork for this upcoming album.

Last Saturday several journalists had the chance to listen to an unmastered version of the new album and the reaction was overwhelming:

With plenty of melodic guitar solos and groove infested rhythm throughout, Systematic Eradication is a Metal release from 2013 that must be highlighted here on Metal Odyssey. This Untimely Demise album comes across with such a genuine attack of Thrash sound and energy; I cannot resist listening to Systematic Eradication, in its entirety, each time I reach for it! Vocally and musically impressive, as ALL eight songs flow seamlessly together, with each song having ample Metal uniqueness of structure and enjoyability. A fabulous Metal album! BLOODBOUND are a Power Metal band from Bollnäs, Sweden and I’ll guarantee their 2012 album, In The Name Of Metal, will kick your Metal lovin’ ass into the week after next. This insane fabulous album was released via AFM Records. Yup, the album cover artwork tells you immediately, that this Bloodbound album is whiz-bang.

When it comes to guitar driven Power Metal, Bloodbound are an unstoppable force. Unreal. Are Metal anthems what you crave? Bloodbound will have you lighting a torch and marching down main street to city hall at midnight. In The Name Of Metal and Metalheads Unite are two Metal anthems that speaks for our Metal community. Metal victory doesn’t await us, my fellow Metal brethren, the Metal victory is here and heard throughout this Bloodbound album! All the posers that aren’t still getting all this may now leave. Get out.

Lead vocalist Patrik Johansson is a pure talent, with a splendid touch of influence from Metal legends as Kai Hansen, Andi Deris and Bruce Dickinson. There’s even an obvious vocal influence of the legendary Udo Dirkschneider that I hear on Monstermind. I honestly put Patrik Johansson on a high Metal pedestal; for his range and sporadic falsetto are plenty impressive, to me. Bloodbound easily commands me to really feel the outpouring of jubilant Metal that they play so incredibly well, on In The Name Of Metal.

In The Name Of Metal never lets up on its powerful Metal momentum, from beginning to end it’s a Metal thrill! My favorite song is Black Devil, however, this entire album is relentless with its mission of in-your-face Power Metal. Bloodbound are just a complete Metal band and they’ve easily demonstrated to me their out-and-out power! Support Bloodbound, buy this album and thank me in the Metal future.
