On April 18th EDGUY’s 10th studio album SPACE POLICE – Defenders Of The Crown will hit the stores worldwide, followed by a world tour starting in September. The band have just released the cover artwork for this upcoming album.
Last Saturday several journalists had the chance to listen to an unmastered version of the new album and the reaction was overwhelming:

The tour management has just confirmed the kick off date for the European “Space Police Tour“ on September 19th. In Hamburg, Germany EDGUY will headline the Hamburg Metal Dayz.
As said the show will mark the kick off to the band‘s first full-fledged headlining European tour after the successful Age Of The Joker Tour 2011.
The Metal Dayz will be the band‘s only festival show in Germany, further tour dates will be announced soon.
UNTIMELY DEMISE are from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Thrash Metal and Death Metal collide in a fireball of gargantuan glory, on Systematic Eradication; with healthy slices of True and Speed Metal adding to the Metal delicacy! Untimely Demise is, in my Metal opinion, a Metal band that has an enormous cross-over appeal to Metal fans of widespread Metal tastes. I’m certain the majority shall agree, the cover artwork for Systematic Eradication kicks quantum ass. Ed Repka is an artistic Metal genius.
With plenty of melodic guitar solos and groove infested rhythm throughout, Systematic Eradication is a Metal release from 2013 that must be highlighted here on Metal Odyssey. This Untimely Demise album comes across with such a genuine attack of Thrash sound and energy; I cannot resist listening to Systematic Eradication, in its entirety, each time I reach for it! Vocally and musically impressive, as ALL eight songs flow seamlessly together, with each song having ample Metal uniqueness of structure and enjoyability. A fabulous Metal album! When it comes to guitar driven Power Metal, Bloodbound are an unstoppable force. Unreal. Are Metal anthems what you crave? Bloodbound will have you lighting a torch and marching down main street to city hall at midnight. In The Name Of Metal and Metalheads Unite are two Metal anthems that speaks for our Metal community. Metal victory doesn’t await us, my fellow Metal brethren, the Metal victory is here and heard throughout this Bloodbound album! All the posers that aren’t still getting all this may now leave. Lead vocalist Patrik Johansson is a pure talent, with a splendid touch of influence from Metal legends as Kai Hansen, Andi Deris and Bruce Dickinson. There’s even an obvious vocal influence of the legendary Udo Dirkschneider that I hear on Monstermind. I honestly put Patrik Johansson on a high Metal pedestal; for his range and sporadic falsetto are plenty impressive, to me. Bloodbound easily commands me to really feel the outpouring of jubilant Metal that they play so incredibly well, on In The Name Of Metal.
In The Name Of Metal never lets up on its powerful Metal momentum, from beginning to end it’s a Metal thrill! My favorite song is Black Devil, however, this entire album is relentless with its mission of in-your-face Power Metal. Bloodbound are just a complete Metal band and they’ve easily demonstrated to me their out-and-out power! Support Bloodbound, buy this album and thank me in the Metal future. Looking back on 2013, there were many, many great Metal albums released; Metal albums that should always be hailed here, on Metal Odyssey. One such album is The Rise Of Resistance and the Power Metal brilliance of Heilbronn, Germany’s Circle Of Silence. This is a Power Metal album that MUST be heard, to understand it’s true potent thunder!
Yes, once again, we have album cover artwork that matches the Metal heard within like a Metal glove! Nick on vocals comes across as the ever confident and eloquent Metal frontman, as he exhibits an attitude and grandiose vibe of pure might, with every note. The duo guitar fretwork of Tobias and Chris is a sensation to take in; with the rhythm section of Björn (bass) and Pit (drums) only exemplifies why Circle Of Silence is a Power Metal force to adhere to.
Released via Abstatt, Germany’s Massacre Records, The Rise Of Resistance is just one of many numerous Metal gems that this legendary record label offered in 2013. January 31, 2014 Cincinnati, Ohio – The Warriors of Metal, Inc. non-profit organization has confirmed the addition of West Coast heavy metallers RESISTANCE to the Warriors of Metal VII Fest. Only the third California-based act in the fest’s year history, the Lion Music Recording artists will be supporting the release of their fourth studio album, tentatively titled Knights of Doom.
Co-founder/bassist Paul Shigo states: “We are honored to be invited to perform at the 7th annual Warriors of Metal Festival. We’ve kept an eye on this Festival and watched it continually grow since it’s inception. We respect the credibility and reputation of this Festival, the organizer Datis Alaee, and the caliber of the Heavy Metal music and bands that have performed here throughout the years. LOST SOCIETY, one of the most promising up-and-coming Finnish bands of our time, has released the details to their upcoming album Terror Hungry. “LOST SOCIETY is back, and we’re angrier than ever,” commented guitarist/vocalist Samy Elbanna. “The new album Terror Hungry is a full on thrash album from start to finish, with a darker and even more aggressive feel to it! It has the signature elements that make up LOST SOCIETY and we’ve put in even more groove riffage, more mind blistering guitar shredding, and some of the fastest stuff we’ve ever done on it! Look out, this one’s gonna be faster, louder and we’re more pissed off than ever!”
Terror Hungry was produced by Nino Laurenne (AMORPHIS, ENSIFERUM, LORDI) at the renowned Sonic Pump studios (FINNTROLL, SONATA ARCTICA, OMNIUM GATHERUM). The artwork was created by Jan Meininghaus (BOLT THROWER, SICK OF IT ALL, UDO). Expect to see the release of Terror Hungry in both digital and physical formats on April 1st (North America) and April 4th (Europe) via Nuclear Blast Records.

“I was asked to do LOST SOCIETY’s new album cover and first of all, I had to face the fact that I had to follow their debut album’s art that was created by the legendary Ed Repka; one of the true heroes of my own thrash metal days. So I decided to go a different way and create the band’s cover idea in a much darker and less cartoony mood than the debut. LOST SOCIETY’s musical style and their approach to metal is very 80’s bay area to me, so I thought it might be fun to paint something that might have been on one of those record covers these days. I listened to LOST SOCIETY and my old EXODUS, TESTAMENT and FORBIDDEN vinyls and it was a blast to come up with Terror Hungry artwork!”

January 24, 2014 Cincinnati, Ohio – The Warriors of Metal, Inc. non-profit organization is excited and privileged to announce that Massachusetts-based, Eurocentric Power Metallers ARMORY have chosen the Warriors Of Metal Fest VII to host its first and only Midwest performance in 2014. The band will be appearing in support of their sophomore release, Empyrean Realm, which came out late last year. Much like the band’s 2007 debut, Dawn of Enlightenment, this album was released independently, but this time through the band’s own label, Metavania Music. Warriors of Metal Fest VII will take place on Friday and Saturday, June 27 & 28 at O’Sheckeys LIVE Bar & Grill in Columbus, Ohio.
Band founder, guitarist and studio drummer Joe Kurland states: “It feels great to finally play a show outside of the Northeast and the timing is perfect to showcase songs from our new album, Empyrean Realms! Apostasy Records welcomes new blood to the family…
Barcelona-based ultra thrashers CRISIX have signed with Apostasy Records, becoming the first thrash metal act to join the label’s roster. With their 2011 album, The Menace the quintet released an outstanding debut full of hard-driving riffs and feisty vocals; a cocktail that feeds every pit. The band’s latest, Rise…Then Rest, was mixed and mastered by none other than Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, et. al.). Previously available in Spain only, Apostasy Records will release this masterpiece across the UK, Europe and North America. More details to come.
January 20, 2014 Cincinnati, Ohio – The Warriors of Metal, Inc. non-profit organization is pleased to announce that NWOBHM-inspired Heavy Metal/Thrash act CRUSADER has been confirmed for this year’s Warriors of Metal Fest. The Chicago-based band appeared as an 11th-hour replacement act for last year’s pre-fest showcase and will hit the main stage this year in support of their Stormspell Records release Onward into Battle. The Warriors Of Metal Fest VII will be held at O’Sheckys LIVE in Columbus, Ohio on June 27 and 28.

Fest organizer Datis Alaee comments: “Crusader was brought to my attention by the former Chicago Thrash Metal guitarist Alex Manske of Degradation who played their penultimate Live show at Warriors Of Metal Fest V Open Air in 2012 and upon contacting and subsequently booking Crusader for our Pre-Fest Showcase, I was really impressed with the way these guys re-arranged their schedules at the last-minute so that they could come down to Ohio and rock our socks off. And if that was not enough, they stuck around and supported ALL the other bands that played that night. They only left the venue because we were getting kicked out and by then most of the other bands who played that night were already gone. That was very impressive to me so right then and there I vowed to bring them back to Ohio so that they could play on our main Fest stage in 2014!”
CRUSADER drummer Colin Holmes states: “It’s an honor to be able to participate alongside such a great and growing lineup at WOM Fest for the last two years. We’re really looking forward to getting on the main stage this year hot on the heels of the release of Onward into Battle, our first full-length album through Stormspell Records.”

January 13, 2014 Cincinnati, Ohio – Warriors of Metal, Inc. non-profit organization has announced that Philadelphia thrashers, FLESH ENGINE have been confirmed for the main stage of Warriors Of Metal Fest VII at O’Sheckys LIVE Bar & Grill in Columbus, Ohio on June 27 and 28. FLESH ENGINE was a promotional monster for last year’s fest, so we’re privileged to have them back to perform again this summer, especially since they have been planning something special for us in 2014!
Band manager and guitarist, Dave Orkin states: “It’s an honor that we received the call from Datis asking us to come back in 2014, after playing the awesome Pre-Fest Showcase in 2013. This time, however, if everything is ready to go as we have been planning and Metal Gods willing, we will be doing a special pre-release show of our second upcoming full length CD Purging Existence at the Fest this summer.
