SQUASH BOWELS – “Grindcoholism” Confirmed For Release Via Selfmadegod

Grindcoholism – the sixth studio full-length from Polish grind butchers SQUASH BOWELS – is completed and awaiting disbursement in the near weeks ahead via Selfmadegod Records.

Since the early ‘90s the trio known as SQUASH BOWELS — bassist Artur “Paluch” Grassmann, guitarist, Andrzej “Andy” Pakos and drummer Mariusz “Melon” Miernik have infected the planet with their battering tunes, their massive catalog of releases including countless demos, singles, EPs, five previous LPs under the banners of Obscene Productions, Lifestage Productions, Willowtip and more, as well as split releases with grind scene notables Malignant Tumor, Catasexual Urge Motivation, Birdflesh, Disgorge, Cock and Ball Torture, Sewn Shut, Neuropathia, Flesh Grinder and many others.

Grindcoholism is SQUASH BOWELS’ first full-length since 2009’s Willowtip-released Grindvirus album. Like an avalanche of activated jackhammers and downed power lines, the awaited new LP from the notorious assassins unapologetically overwhelms the listener with the band’s expected old-school style and their unavoidable gore persuasion. Harnessed and mixed at world-famous Hertz Studio (Behemoth, Vader, Decapitated, Dead Infection) in Bialystok, Poland by the Wieslawscy brothers.

Packing as much leveling, blastbeatdown, guttural punishment as possible into fourteen new hyper-fast, unrelenting tracks in under thirty-two minutes, Grindcoholism is easily one of 2013’s highlights of the grind scene. Those with a heart condition or apt to frequent low-potency pseudo blasting need not apply; this is true, primal, groove-strewn grind of the highest caliber.

Lethal drumming from Chris Wozniak, coupled with the tremor inducing bass playing of Nate Olp, makes me realize that underground Metal bestows some of the finest musicians within our Metal universe. It’s not the big name record label we buy, my Metal brethren; it’s the Metal artists that we support and buy into. Lair Of The Minotaur is worth every Metal cent and Metal second of your valuable Metal time. Metal be thy name.

BANGLADEAFY – Explosive Tech/Spazz NYC Duo To Release New EP

NYC-based duo BANGLADEAFY are prepared to release their new EP, a capsule of musical mayhem containing a burst of the most bewilderingly fun metallic fusion out there.

With rabid rolls and pummeling percussion fueled with nutbar fingertapping, cerebellum-convulsing time change-ups, sporadic keyboard-interloping and the vocalizations and a general disregard for rulebooks, off-the-chain twosome BANGLADEAFY fiercely perpetuates an original style of technical extreme music defying genre classifications and merging in a melee that’ll have jazz aficionados fighting prog critics while the tech metal fans bang their own faces off in their own anomalous sequences.

While dropping riffery and percussion that is jagged and technical yet at once cohesive and succinct, this duo bears more than just a whack style and catchy name. BANGLADEAFY basically breaks down the band to the core, fusing the Bangladeshi origins of blazing drummer Atif Haq with the actual physical impairment of bassist/pianist/vocalist Jon Ehlers, the multi-instrumentalist having been born with sensio-neural hearing loss, alongside his two sisters. Disability aside, the intensely technical and somehow still laid-back basslines this musical assassin drops will floor critics and fans alike paired with is cohort’s jacked-up percussive attack.

Following their self-released full-length This Is Your Brain On Bugs amidst other random recordings since their full-on inception in 2009, BANGLADEAFY has completed their newest display of jam-band-gone-homicidal musical intensity, now preparing it for disbursement as The Briefcase; a magnificent six-song EP that lays out more face-melting proficiency in under fifteen minutes than most so-called “tech” bands could ever visualize. The band will self-release the tracks through a direct cooperation with their cohorts at the oddball/prog-tech outlet Nefarious Industries on July 9th.

As more info on The Briefcase nears disclosure, BANGLADEAFY will hit the locals with a wave of live dates, playing shows in Jersey, Long Island and Brooklyn this week with Resolution 15, Torrential Downpour and headliners Car Bomb.

OTARGOS – Signs With Listenable Records

French Blackened Death Metal mongers OTARGOS have inked a worldwide deal with Listenable Records for the release of the band’s recently completed new album, Apex Terror.

Apex Terror displays a fresher, stripped down and more intense style of songwriting that draws from the catchier end of Death Metal and obscure Thrash. Lyrically, the album is an exploration of the darker side of humanity. Apex Terror will be out in North America in the fall of 2013.

We’re happy to welcome the Progressive Rock/Metal five-piece RUSTFIELD from Italy to the Massacre Records family!

The band was formed in 2007 by guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Davide Ronfetto. He was immediately joined by his long-time friend and singer Andrea Rampa.

They soon started composing demo songs and were joined by other talented musicians to bring their music on stage. In early 2011 the line-up was completed and they played their first shows.

In the past years, they played at the Mö.-Wa. Rockt festival as well as the Italian Revenge Festival and shared the stage with famous Italian bands such as White Skull, Eldritch and Kappa. In 2012, they also played their first acoustic show.

RUSTFIELD have mastered the concept of Progressive Rock/Metal by composing melodies, which incorporate various nuances and musical atmospheres.

On the upcoming debut album you’ll find tracks, which entwine classic Heavy Metal with electronic and psychedelic ambiences; and acoustic and melodic pieces of work will merge with rhythmical joints pertaining to a more progressive style.

RUSTFIELD’s debut album Kingdom Of Rust will be released later this year via Massacre Records!

IVANHOE – Sixth Album From German Prog Metal Veterans To See Release Via Massacre Records

With a long line of releases including their early demos as well as five full-length studio recordings on their résumé, IVANHOE has toured and performed across Europe with the likes of Iced Earth, Nevermore, Queensryche the Scorpions and countless others, including sets at major festivals including Bang Your Head, Building A Force and others, helping them become a widely known and respected act over the last two decades.

With nearly an hour of brand new material, the sixth IVANHOE album Systematrix brings out some of the most powerful and professional anthems in the band’s ongoing lineage. The hard-hitting tunes on Systematrix were produced, mixed and mastered by Andy Horn at Red Room (Edenbridge, Lanfear, Rob Rock, Liv Kristine, etc.), capturing the talented act with immaculate auditory quality, and showcases the South German Prog act boasting their strongest effort so far.

DISPARAGED – Swiss Death Metal Warriors Signs With Apostasy Records

ALL 3 songs are like tapping into a keg of Metal whoop-ass and then drinking from said keg!! There’s nothing mathematical about the way NIGHTBITCH plays their Metal; nor is there one micro-second of bullshit to hear. NIGHTBITCH covers the Deep Purple classic, Into The Fire, in jaw dropping Metal style. NIGHTBITCH BIO:

NIGHTBITCH formed in the summer of 2009 when Ipsissimus guitarist Ryan “His Emissary” Adams sought an outlet to reconcile his late-bloomer discovery of Ritchie Blackmore’s majestic emanations with his obsession for sleazy 70’s occult / exploitation films and plagiarized Danzig riffs. Adams soon hooked up with celebrated Doom Metal vocalist Phil Swanson (Hour of 13, Seamount, Vestal Claret and many more) through mutual friend Bill Connnolly (whose No Visible Scars label would expose the world to NIGHTBITCH via the Sex and Magic cassette). The band was quickly rounded out by the formidable rhythm section of longtime friends and veteran CT musicians Chris Taylor (Kingdom of Sorrow) and Mark Else (De Omega) on drums and bass, respectively.

In September 2010, after gigs opening for such heavyweights as Pentagram, Black Pyramid, Earthride and Midnight, NIGHTBITCH traveled to Dublin, Ireland as the back-up band for Hour of 13’s live debut at the Dublin Doom Day, playing its own gig as a part of the warm-up festivities. The band brought with it the Sex and Magic cassette, which would sell out of all 100 copies within a month of its release.

Upon returning from Dublin, NIGHTBITCH and Swanson amicably parted ways and Taylor assumed vocal duties. In December, Cyclopean Records issued Sex and Magic on vinyl limited to 350 copies, which also sold out in one month’s time. Analog formats exhausted, Sex and Magic has since entered the digital realm via Austria’s Psychedoomelic Records, where it counts the godly Reverend Bizarre among its labelmates.

With Taylor at the helm, NIGHTBITCH has composed eleven infernal odes to comprise its full-length debut and is set to release the Chainmaker EP to showcase the depravity to follow. Chainmaker contains the originals “Chainmaker” and “Disrober”, closing with a reverent cover of Deep Purple’s “Into the Fire”. It will be released as a one-sided vinyl 12″ by Ear One Productions in a limited edition of 250.

The band is currently courting distributors for both releases as well as labels interested in the full-length, all while continuing to play out, spreading its Hell-ordained gospel of traditional heavy fucking metal… riffs and sleaze with a sensual, occult bent.

PARTNERSHIP WITH REAL ALE BREWING COMPANY PRODUCES IRON SWAN BEER

Spreading their entrepreneurial wings, the band is also pleased to announce the launch of a second branded beer, Iron Swan. The beer, in partnership with Texas-based Real Ale Brewing Company, marks the band’s second foray into the beer universe following the launch last fall of Winters Wolves in partnership with Baltimore, Maryland based brewery Oliver Ales. Iron Swan will officially launch at the end of July with the four Texas shows that begin the summer tour.

While playing in various local bands Eibhlin Palfrey and Pavol Rosa decided to reach out and find a new sound. Inhale The Fall, the duo’s first major musical exploration emerges from the ashes and takes to the Cork (Ireland) music scene. The band’s video release, Weak, released June 2013, is an eclectic version of the Skunk Anansie track . Full of melodic arrangements with soaring vocals reminiscent of Halestorm and Guano Apes, this track will do Cork proud.

Philip H. Anselmo needs no introduction to any Metal fan on this planet. Metal legend. ‘Nuff said. Now, the coveted Metal resume of Philip H. Anselmo is expanding once again with his newest band: Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals. A July 16th release date has been set for the release of his band’s album: Walk Through Exits Only.

Just the album title alone can easily sum up the path that Philip H. Anselmo has taken during his multi-brilliant Metal career. Philip H. Anselmo has persevered and stayed true to the Metal cause. I dare anyone to tell this Metal legend that “the entrance is that way, sir.” Like him or not, Philip H. Anselmo is and always will be a powerful Metal statesman and I personally could not see it any other way. Maybe my album title interpretation may differ from others; that’s what makes art such a dynamic gift upon our civilizations, I gather.

I am beyond excited, that over the years Philip H. Anselmo has continued onward with one project after another; exemplifying that stagnation is for pussies in the first place. While many Metal fans speak of Ozzy Osbourne, Rob (The Metal God) Halford, Lemmy Kilmister and Alice Cooper (for examples) as our living Metal leaders, I cannot overlook the Metal historic importance of Philip H. Anselmo and his profound contributions to our Metal genres. This Metal legend has obviously touched all of our beloved Metal genres… and he has succeeded magnificently. In my Metal opinion, Philip H. Anselmo has.

I’ll be purchasing Walk Through Exits Only on July 16th, 2013. I will be happier than a pig in the most filthy of shit too. The realization that Philip H. Anselmo gives a damn about keeping Metal true and legitimately badass will overcome me once again, as I let his new album scald my senses and knock me flat on my Metal lovin’ ass. Metal be thy name.

DEUS OTIOSUS – Earns Spot At Denmark’s COPENHELL Festival

Danish Death Metallers DEUS OTIOSUS have been confirmed as the last act to complete the line-up for this year’s Copenhell Festival in Denmark.

Tak Rock – an initiative by Danish brewery Royal Beer – hosted a vote between DEUS OTIOSUS and one other Danish Metal act, to let fans decide the final band for the festival. DEUS OTIOSUS won the competition with more than 1400 votes.

COPENHELL is Denmark’s biggest metal festival and takes place June 13th – 15th. This year’s installment will feature the likes of KING DIAMOND, DANZIG, TESTAMENT and many more. For more info, visit http://www.copenhell.dk.

“When people think of the U.S. they don’t think of the traditional metal, they think of Britain, Germany… But the United States had Manowar, they had Virgin Steele, they had Slayer… Tons of bands that really were the best out there and that’s what we wanted to showcase on our album because we are American as well.” bassist Andy Gonzalez stated in an interview with SA Musicians Talk Show Radio.

When asked in an exclusive video interview with Robb’s Metal Works to describe what Metal fans can expect to hear on the band’s new album Witching Metal Ritual vocalist and guitarist Robb Bockman had the following to say “I’d best describe it as a bunch of dudes that love Metal and we just play what we wanna fucking hear. It’s a celebration of Metal.”

“Definitely energy, power and attitude…Gotta make a statement, you know?” stated drummer Scott Palmer in an interview with Slayed In Oregon.

DYING FETUS – Announce European Summer Headline Tour 2013

Death Metal powerhouse DYING FETUS have confirmed that they will be heading back to Europe this summer on a headlining tour. The tour begins July 24th in Slovenia and runs through August 18th in France.
