Legendary Metal Queen DORO just announced the release of the official X-Mas anthem for all Metalheads!

“I had the feeling, the time was right to record a song for X-Mas.“, says Doro. “I am at recording my new album right now, which should be out by next summer. While doing this, I suddenly came up with a fitting melody and lyrics.“

The song’s called “Merry Metal X-Mas”, performed by DORO and showcases a guest appearance by SODOM’s very own Onkel Tom Angelripper.

“I definitely wanted something loud and funny”, she explains.

“Merry Metal X-Mas” will be released December 9, 2011 and will be available as digital download and limited 7” vinyl single (Christmas tree green).

A BAND OF ORCS – Release Studio Update #1

The other worldly Metal band A BAND OF ORCS has been spotted recording their new concept album about killing giants. The Orcs are working with a human known as Juan Urteaga whose most recent credit is Unto The Locust by MACHINE HEAD. The artwork is being created by Chuck Lukacs. These monsters have just released their first Studio Update for their new album which features Oog smashing his drums!

Since most earthly establishments do not accept human blood as monetary payment, the Orcs are having humans help out with the process by means of their new KickStarter Campaign. The Orcs will reward the generosity of their human fans by including their names in the albums liner notes, giving away free album downloads, autographed albums, T-shirts, Orc Miniatures, and more!

North Carolina power trio BLACK SKIES have been ravaging the North American masses since November 14 on their 2011 Fall tour excursion  in support of the recently unleashed On The Wings Of Time full-length.

“The tour is going great! We’ve played some of our favorite venues. hit some new ones and had a great first time playing Canada! The crowd, promoters and venues in Montreal and Toronto were very welcoming and we look forward to going back! We’ve been playing songs off our new record for the most part including a tune we hadn’t really played out live before and a May Blitz cover on some nights. It’s been a blast being back out. Our friends Make from Chapel Hill were on the first half of the tour with us. It’s been great to share the stage with these guys every night. BIOHAZARD – Reveal “Reborn In Defiance” Cover Art!

Legendary NYHC veterans BIOHAZARD just revealed the cover art for the bands highly anticipated new album “Reborn In Defiance“ which is set to be unleashed January 20, 2012 via Nuclear Blast.

Danny Schuler says, “Being a huge fan of vinyl records and the amazing sleeve artwork that used to come with them, I really wanted our artwork to be unique. In the spirit of being REBORN IN DEFIANCE, the album cover represents to me an interesting paradox: an embryo, not yet spoiled by the world, but already possessing the heart of a rebel.”

Billy Graziadei explains, “The innocence of youth has always been a strong subject for us, with the children playing over a crime scene on the Urban Discipline album cover to the child running with a biological gas mask on the State of the World Address cover. FAREWELL TO ARMS – Signs With Massacre Records

Landsberg am Lech back in 2007 – FAREWELL TO ARMS were born. Melodic, uncompromising, technically ambitious, versatile and curious – that’s how you could characterize the band.

Their goal is to define themselves without following any trends: FAREWELL TO ARMS are not one of those typical Metal bands and they won’t play the music you’ve heard a thousand times before! They have a unique style, which combines a lot of Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Progressive and Hardcore elements.

Their first 4-track EP “Exhalation”, which was produced by Corni Bartels (Hackneyed, End of Green), was released in late 2010.

After numerous live gigs, also at various festivals, FAREWELL TO ARMS were also finalists of this year’s New Blood Awards. So they also played at the Summer Breeze Open Air with Davidian, who are now their label mates.

In spring 2012 FAREWELL TO ARMS are going to enter the Weltraumstudios in Munich to record their debut album with Corni Bartels.

GODSIC – A METAL Band From Sweden You MUST Check Out!

GODSIC – At the end of 2010, former Construcdead members Peter Tuthill, Rickard Dahlberg, Chris Barkensjö and Thomas Wallander decided to join forces once again and founded GODSIC. Since their formation in 2010, the Metal/Melodic Death Metal band GODSIC have been hard at work writing new songs for their upcoming debut album “As the Heavens Burn”, due out in spring 2012. Vocalist Peter Tuthill and drummer Chris Barkensjö are also current members of Sweden’s Carnal Forge. (Recent developments have Carnal Forge disbanded indefinitely).

We’re proud to announce the signing of DAVIDIAN!

Those of you who attended the Summer Breeze Open Air in Germany this year may already know DAVIDIAN. They were one of the New Blood Award finalists who have opened the festival in the party tent.

The band from the Stuttgart area has played a lot of shows in the past years, some of them with bands such as Heaven Shall Burn, Whitechapel, Milking The Goatmachine or Hatebreed.

They have already released 2 albums: “Abuse Of Power” (2003, self-produced) and “Hear Their Cries” (2008, Limited Access Records), which was produced by Andy Classen.

In 2010 their new shouter Tobias Brasch joined DAVIDIAN and in May they have entered the Antfarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark, to produce their upcoming third album with Tue Madsen.

NIGHTQUEEN – Signs To Massacre Records

Massacre Records are happy to announce the signing of NIGHTQUEEN from Genk, Belgium!

NIGHTQUEEN’s history began in late 2004 when guitarist and songwriter Rex Zeco decided to compose a kind of metal for everyone. The formula was simple: strong guitar riffs, upgraded with the Modern Metal beats and a melodic melody with catchy tunes that stay stuck in the head for a long time.

The band reformed a few times before the right line-up was found: Keely Larreina (Lead vocals), Daniel Kells (Keyboards), Rex Zeco (Guitar), Alan Rawson (Guitar), Steven Steele (Bass) and William Blodyn (Drums).

Only a couple of weeks to go until Christmas, that’s why NIGHTQUEEN present the ultimate Christmas metal song: “X-Mas Wonderland”.

The song was recorded at the Full Moon Studio in Genk, Tony De Block mixed the song at the Midas Recording Studios in Lokeren, where “X-Mas Wonderland” was also mastered.

CHRIS VRENNA LEAVES MARILYN MANSON – To Focus On Production And New Projects

Los Angeles, Nov. 22 – Chris Vrenna, the Grammy-award winning musician and producer who was most recently the drummer/keyboardist for Marilyn Manson, has left the band to focus on his growing film and video game scoring, production career and DJ outings as well as work on the forthcoming 2012 Tweaker release.

“I’m incredibly proud of the work I did with Manson and look forward to the release of Born Villain.  I wish my brothers well but with the recording largely completed I felt it was time to return to other facets of my career which involves production work, film scoring, and future musical collaborations,” explained Vrenna.

Vrenna rose to prominence in the early ’90s as a full-time member of Nine Inch Nails, having been a permanent member of Trent Reznor’s band since Nine Inch Nails’ inception and for the following eight years.  His production and programming credits include the aforementioned Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Marilyn Manson, Guns’n’Roses and most recently work on Evanescence’s self-titled 2011 album.  Vrenna is also a sought after remixer working on tracks by U2, Nelly Furtado, Rammstein, and Slipknot.

Infamous Philly Avant/Agro Rock trio STINKING LIZAVETA have proudly joined forces with Germany’s Exile On Mainstream Records for the release of their forthcoming seventh full-length album. STINKING LIZAVETA’s near legendary cult status and blend of improvisational and otherworldly post-jazz/rock/freakout style now hitching to the exceptionally diverse purveyance of all forms of Rock that Exile On Mainstream’s roster already bears, is an ideal alliance and both sides are extremely excited about the signing.

LOVE.MIGHT.KILL – “Down To Nowhere” Video-Clip Released & More Band Info!

German-/Italian Melodic-Metallers LOVE.MIGHT.KILL released their second video-clip “Down To Nowhere”. The track is taken from their highly acclaimed debut-album “Brace For Impact” which was released in Europe through Massacre Records this year. LOVE.MIGHT.KILLs first single “Pretty Little Mess” featured the very melodic side of the band while “Down to nowhere” is a heavy-uptempo-rocker.

“Brace For Impact” was released in Japan through Hydrant Music/EMI on November, 16th. The Japanese-edition of the album features a bonus-track called “Satans Den”.

LOVE.MIGHT.KILL also welcomes SASCHA ONNEN (ex-Mob Rules) on keyboards as a permanent member. Commented drummer and producer Michael Ehré: “We´re absolutely happy to have Sascha on board! His incredible skills will lift LOVE.MIGHT.KILL to another level!”

After touring all around the world with several bands and writing songs for German-Metallers METALIUM, Japanese-female-Metal-vocalist SAEKO or ex-ZED YAGO-founder JUTTA WEINHOLD, he realised his vision of an own band by writing, recording and producing LOVE.MIGHT.KILLs debut-album BRACE FOR IMPACT. In  addition with the brilliant Italian-singer JAN MANENTI as a co-writer, long-time-friends CHRISTIAN STÖVER and STEFAN ELLERHORST (who were both playing in German-based-Metal band CROSSROADS) on guitars and JOGI SWEERS on bass LOVE.MIGHT.KILLs outstanding line-up was completed.
