LED ZEPPELIN – ‘Celebration Day’ Double CD Releases November 19th, 2012, Via Atlantic Records

LED ZEPPELIN – Celebration Day is a historically documented Rock Music event, in which the ultra iconic Led Zeppelin performed onstage, on December 10th, 2007, at The O2 Arena in London. This was a tribute concert for the late Ahmet Ertegun, the founder of Atlantic Records.

Over two hours of Led Zeppelin classics were filmed and recorded on this amazing night of Rock Music history, showcasing the everlasting talents of Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and (the late John Bonham’s son) Jason Bonham.

Releasing on November 19th, 2012, via Atlantic Records, Celebration Day will be available as 2-CD, 2-CD + 1-DVD and 2-CD + 2-DVD formats.

With this event being the first concert for Led Zeppelin in 27 years, 20 million fans (worldwide) put in for tickets, with only 18,000 lucky fans obtaining a once-in-a-lifetime seat.

ROYAL THUNDER – Announce New Round Of Autumn North American Tour Dates

ATLANTA QUARTET SPIN MAGAZINE DESCRIBED AS “A BLUESY MIX OF LED ZEP AND SLEATER-KINNEY” ADDED TO FUN FUN FUN FEST

Sept. 2012, Philadelphia – Royal Thunder, the co-ed quartet who released their acclaimed debut album CVI this Spring, embark on their first headlining tour on Oct. 21.

The Atlanta-based band has also been added to Fun Fun Fun Fest, perform two Texas dates with Valient Thorr and will join Pig Destroyer on Oct. 19 for a show in Baltimore. Royal Thunder is currently on the road with Pallbearer, with the tour wrapping up on Sunday in Lawrence, Kan.

With the June release of CVI, Royal Thunder stepped out of the Metal underground, garnering a  great deal of praise from a variety of outlets including Spin (“a stunning breakthrough”), NPR ( “not only builds on the promise of a great EP, but it’s also a portrait of songs that have been painstakingly lived in”), Pitchfork (“Mlny Parsonz is a nontraditional blues-rock banshee of a woman, equal parts riot grrl and gospel diva”) and Revolver (“essential”).

Vocalist/guitar player Mlny Parsonz recently appeared on the cover of Decibel Magazine‘s inaugural Women in Metal issue. The album is currently streaming in its entirety at www.royalthunder.bandcamp.com.

NEW KEEPERS OF THE WATER TOWERS – Swedish Stoner Rock Band Issue Album Update

Main songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Rasmus of Sweden’s NEW KEEPERS OF THE WATER TOWERS has issued the following update regarding the long-awaited third album from the celebrated Stoner Rock outfit:

“For the past year and a half we have been working in and out of the studio on this, our third, album. It’s been a long process of developing and enriching our music with more genre defying sounds, dark lyrics about life and death, a lot of experimenting with musical directions and tinkering with richer harmonic arrangements. To put it bluntly, we’ve been recording an epic. None of us have ever put this much effort and emotion into a piece of music, so it means a lot to us and now that we are in the final steps of recording we feel very proud of what we have accomplished and I don’t think there is any doubt in our minds that we have succeeded in creating the album we set out to record.”

Song titles to be featured on the upcoming album include “Visions of Death,” “Cosmic Child,” “He Who Greets With Fire” and “The Great Leveler.” A spring 2013 release through Listenable Records has been scheduled for the album.

LOVERBOY – Rock ‘N’ Roll Revival EPK (Official); Album Releases August 24th On Frontiers Records

LOVERBOY– With their trademark red leather pants, bandannas, big rock sound and high-energy live shows, LOVERBOY has sold more than 10 million albums, earning four multi-platinum plaques in the USA, including the four-million-selling Get Lucky, and a trio of double-platinum releases in their self-titled 1980 debut, 1983’s Keep It Up and 1985’s Lovin’ Every Minute of It.

LOVERBOY went on to win a still-record six Juno awards in 1982, and until a three-year sabbatical in 1989, were one of the Top 5 grossing touring acts in the world, performing in over 100 cities across the U.S. and Canada. Their success made them the first Canadian group ever to earn Columbia Records’ exclusive Crystal Glove Award, celebrating the sale of over five million albums outside their native country.

Aside from singer Mike Reno and guitarist Paul Dean, LOVERBOY still includes original members Doug Johnson on keyboards and Matt Frenette on drums, with Ken “Spider” Sinnaeve (a former member of Dean and Frenette’s pre-LOVERBOY band Streetheart), who replaced the late Scott Smith on bass, and continues a healthy touring schedule around the world.

LOVERBOY is now back once again, having reunited at Bryan Adams’ Vancouver studio The Warehouse, with their original engineer, legendary producer Bob Rock [Metallica, Aerosmith, The Cure, Bon Jovi], who worked under Bruce Fairbairn at the time. The band has recorded three new songs with Rock, Heartbreaker, Rock ‘N’ Roll Revival and No Tomorrow, which have been added to nine all new re-recordings of the band’s best tracks.

RUNNING THE RISK – A Rock Band From L.A. Teeming With A Modern, Edgy Sound & Contagious Vibes

RUNNING THE RISK – Founded in 2011, L.A.’s edgy and vibrant Running The Risk is a Rock band that’s brimming with musical talent and praiseworthy songs to match. Signed to In Flight Music Group; a record label & publishing company based in Los Angeles, California. There’s no doubt in my mind that Running The Risk will very soon (if not immediately) be on many (if not all) a Rock journalist’s list of “bands to get in touch with and write about.”

Regardless of this years departure of bassist Curtis Corwin, Running The Risk is moving forward writing new music, conducting bass auditions; while promoting themselves on social networks. With vocalist Nicki Taylor, guitarist Nick Bell and drummer Aaron Cohan, the future of this band appears from all angles to be 100% solid.

What’s any better for a Rock band than having your own edgy sound, obvious credibility and super memorable songs? What could be any better than having a proficient lead vocalist that also gives such band a heaping dosage of stylish identity? This is Running The Risk and the Rock Music world will take notice. After I’ve listened to their The Monster and Because We Can EP’s, I’ve become a fan. Because I can.

Nicki Taylor’s vocals conjures memories of my lifelong appreciation towards the voice of Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles coupled with Debbie Harry’s mystique; all the while Nicki stands-up as a true original. The all-inclusive sound of Running The Risk is Hard Modern, only they have apparently captured a retrospective slice of Rock history as well; one that reminds me of those days when mainstream Rock didn’t all sound the same.

The newly released, Because We Can (2 song EP) bestows the cover versions of: Black Sabbath’s War Pigs and Talk Talk’s Talk Talk. When a band messes with an ultra classic from the sacred past of Heavy Metal history, I can get a bit uneasy; this is not the case with Running The Risk covering War Pigs. Instead, this is Running The Risk celebrating (admirably) a Heavy Metal treasure of a song and band.

I very much dig the way Running The Risk covered War Pigs. This band breathed a young, fresh and still heavy life into a timeless Sabbath song. I also appreciate hearing Nicki’s vocals pouring over the lyrics to War Pigs. No… this is not Ozzy. This is Nicki. This is Running The Risk and they’re Metal on War Pigs. Take a listen for yourself:

The Monster EP is a collection of 4 demo songs. If these 4 songs are demos then I’m the next editor for Quilting and Knitting magazine. Monster, Mayday, Good Kind Of Evil and Backfire are a delicious listen into the future Rockin’ success of Running The Risk. There really is no risk at listening to The Monster EP at all! FOOLS FOR ROWAN “Who Killed Amanda Day?” – EP Flourishes And Skyrockets With Its Melodic & Modern Rock

FOOLS FOR ROWAN – While the Modern Rock world jumps up and down for the likes of Daughtry, Shinedown, Cavo, Sick Puppies and Halestorm, (and rightfully so), there is another band that deserves the same treatment: Nashville, Tennessee’s Fools For Rowan. Here’s the slick groovy part: Fools For Rowan have even outshined their last full-length Twisted. Tied Up. Tangled. and I LOVE that album. Who Killed Amanda Day? is a whole new era for Fools For Rowan and they best strap themselves in for a high-speed Rockin’ road of continued success.

If an already seasoned and multi-talented band can maximize their songwriting and musicianship to a higher level than they were before; then Fools For Rowan is such a band. Yes, Fools For Rowan have recently opened for the legendary Evanescence, while also sharing the stage with the mega-famous Candlebox; only it’s a matter of time before Fools For Rowan will own the marquee on different shores and you’ll remember Stone told you so.

Led by the dynamic Erin Mullins on vocals, the melodic driven songs on Who Killed Amanda Day? are insanely memorable and relevant… and I’m an Extreme Metal loyalist who has been kidnapped by this band’s glowing Modern Rock tonality. Among my six favorite songs (on this 6 song EP) is Crave. Kelly Clarkson (my favorite AI winner ever) holds nothing over Erin Mullins when it comes to vocal resonance and prowess. Throughout Who Killed Amanda Day?, Erin steals the show and her band steals it right back… it’s incredible to hear.

The closing track is Leave, which has Erin dialing into some Stevie Nicks juju. A mellow and still dramatic vocal performance Erin gives on Leave. Back to Crave… Metal Odyssey’s Rock Song Of 2012? Just saying. I’m just enamored by Erin’s vocals and the band’s total musical output; for the simple reason I have never heard a hint of anything superficial from them on any of their songs… ever.

Refuge, Chameleon, and You Can’t Stop Me are Modern Rock charms that rise to the top; all three songs carrying their own flash and color of sonic appeal. The lead single, Killed A Man Today, is easily a song to narrow down as showcasing everything great about Fools For Rowan since the very beginning. There is a Rockin’ drive about this band that I hear and feel in their music which is without dispute; Killed A Man Today just solidifies this drive I’ve been hearing from Fools For Rowan.

Fools For Rowan has an ace in their box of talented tricks and it’s called Rockin’ passion. I hear it. I feel it. It flows through my veins. I’ve now told the world about it and I’m better off for it. Metal be thy name.

BLOOD OF THE SUN – Signs With Listenable Records

Listenable Records is chuffed to announce the signing of 70’s-tinged U.S. Hard Rock band Blood Of The Sun. The band’s newest album. Burning on the Wings of Desire, is scheduled for a late-2012 release on Listenable Records. Get ready for a catchy overdose of vintage Hard Rock!

Blood Of The Sun was formed in 2002 by Henry Vasquez (Saint Vitus, Archie Bunker) on drums and Dave Gryder (Storm at Sunrise) on keyboards. Blood Of The Sun’s goal from the beginning has been to carry on the tradition of the Classic Rock style of the ’70’s, including highly respected seventies icons Derek St. Holmes from Ted Nugent and John ‘O Daniel and Rusty Burns from Point Blank.

In 2004, the band released their self-titled, first release on the independent brain ticket label. This initial line up included Las Crucis singer Mark Zamarron, Sub Oslo bassist Miguel Veliz, as well as Archie Bunker guitarists Jay Benfield and Rich Christopher.

For their 2007 sophomore release “In Blood We Rock”, personnel changes included Richard Hurley and Ty Thompkins on guitars and Henry Vasquez on vocals. In 2008, Death Ride was released with Derek St. Holmes from Ted Nugent on vocals as well as Erik Schmidt from REO Speed Dealer and Mike Doty from The House Harkonnen on guitars.

In addition to touring the states, the band toured Europe extensively in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and has subsequently been preparing their newest release “Burning on the Wings of Desire” which includes John O’Daniel and Rusty Burns from Point blank and Tony Reed (Stone Axe, Mos Generator).

Indie Rock Band Delivers On Sophomore EP

Los Angeles, CA – Indie rock group Friend Slash Lover (FSL) give the world their artistic view in musical form with their second EP, The Grey Area. The EP is available to fans on iTunes and the band’s official website. The Los Angeles based band is heating up the music scene with captivating conceptual material for true radio heads everywhere.

Front man Josh Mintz, vocalist and songwriter, started out making music as a solo act under the name Stupid Human after teaching himself how to sing, write and play guitar. The former student of Rhode Island School of Design was musically inclined from the early age of 8, winning over 70 awards during his seven-year stint playing the fife in a drum corps marching band. Bassist Frank Day was with Mintz from the beginnings of FSL and since then, the band has added Jake Hayden, drums, and Greg Pajer, guitar, to the lineup.

With a complete band and the full collective sound Mintz always desired, Friend Slash Lover is about to embark on their most ambitious project yet. The seasoned performers have already hit some of the most popular nightclubs and music venues in Los Angeles such as The Roxy Theater, The Viper Room, Bootleg Theatre and Skinny’s Lounge.

Excited to deliver a second dose of musical remedy to fans, Friend Slash Lover called upon old friend Thom Flowers, who mixed the group’s debut EP As American As Ones And Zeros, to mix and produce The Grey Area. The EP was mastered by Roger Seibel at SAE Mastering and recorded at both Dave’s Room and Orangewhip Studios. Los Angeles, CA – Electrifying Rock band Fools For Rowan is back to hit fans with a second EP, Who Killed Amanda Day? debuting on iTunes on July 3rd and accompanied by a video for the lead single “Killed a Man Today.” The group has been touring nationwide while performing hits from their first release, Twisted. Tied Up. Tangled. and growing their loyal fan base. Who Killed Amanda Day?, a clever play on the title of the lead single, was produced by hit-makers and co-writers Shaye Smith (Jewel, Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney) and Ken Harrell (Stacie Orrico, Phil Everly of The Everly Brothers) and mixed by Beau Hill (Grammy winner – Ratt, Winger) and Rory Rositas. “Killed A Man Today,” a passionate story about breaking a lover’s heart and figuratively “killing” them, features enticing guitar riffs and infectious drums that dominate the track. According to Erin, the EP is “a great blend of soft Rock, Pop Rock, Hard Rock with real lyrics… it’s just fun, emotional, and real.”

Resembling an epic drama flick, the video for “Killed a Man Today” shows a young woman breaking up with her man via a hand-written note and ironically dies shortly after in a car crash. Known for powerful vocals and fierce guitar progressions, Fools For Rowan are by no means new players to the Rock scene; touring with artists like Evanescence, Halestorm, and Trapt, a national college tour, and three invitations to play Summerfest, are just a few of their many achievements. The band is comprised of five very diverse and equally talented musicians and together they bring a tough, but emotional stance to the table through their lyrics and sound.

Recorded and engineered by Stoker White at Omnisound Studios, in their hometown of Nashville, “Killed A Man Today,” arose from Fools For Rowan’s partnering with producers Shaye Smith and Ken Harrell, as well as mixing and mastering from Beau Hill (Winger and Ratt). LO-PAN: Ohio Fuzz Purveyors Kick Off Spring 2012 Tour

Ohio’s primo fuzz purveyors, LO-PAN, are kicking off their Spring 2012 in top form. The heavy rocking four-piece will embark on a trek starting March 1 that will find them hitting the East Coast and the South sharing the stage with some of rock’s finest, including Freedom Hawk, Sistered, Truckfighters, and Small Stone Records labelmates, Wo Fat!

Touring in support of 2011’s epic Salvador, LO-PAN are said to already have new material in the works and will take part in Small Stone’s annual SXSW showcase, set for March 16 at Headhunter’s in Austin, Texas, where they’ll perform alongside Suplecs, Dixie Witch, Gozu, Dwellers and longtime tour comrades, Backwoods Payback, among others.

PHILM SIGN WITH IPECAC – Announce May 15th Release For Debut Album “HARMONIC”

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 21, 2012 – PHILM, the Los Angeles power trio featuring Slayer’s Dave Lombardo, War’s Pancho Tomaselli and Gerry Nestler of Civil Defiance, have signed to Ipecac Recordings and will release their debut album, Harmonic, on May 15.

“When people hear about my involvement in PHILM, they automatically assume that it will compare to Slayer’s sound,” explains Lombardo. “They couldn’t be more different.  I have scaled down my drum set to a four-piece, reminiscent of the drummers from the late ’60s that influenced me. Each song is unique in itself, I like to refer to it as ‘rhythmic emotion.”  It’s almost like taking all the heavy songs of the ’60s and bringing that era to a modern plateau, then blending them with the modern trance and psychedelic sounds of today.”

“We decided to record Harmonic in the intimate setting of a home, with various vintage recording equipment. ” says Lombardo on the band’s debut album. “The music was written collectively in an improvisational manner, unlike the majority of recordings I’ve done before. This was very important given this is my first recording where I’m carrying the title of Producer and performer. The album achieves a dense, unholy convergence of tones and discords.We also touch on haunting, desolate, ambient sounds. Our music tends to be written in a manner where we never know the outcome until we listen back to what we recorded. A Harmonic journey.”

A highly anticipated release, PHILM officially took form in late 2010 with a handful of tour dates and an early four-song demo that quickly began to make the rounds of in-the-know music critics.  Noisecreep said the band “has crafted a crunchy, thrashy, yet thoroughly unclassifiable sound” and the OC Weekly said of the trio: “PHILM’s ability to melt down metal influences and mix them with the elements of funk, ambient jazz and punk… is potent and has left audiences wondering how so much noise could emanating from just three musicians.”

PHILM’s next show is Apr.28 at The Ruby Room in San Diego with  more tour dates to be announced soon.

(Los Angeles, CA) – Manraze, that powerful trio consisting of Def Leppard’s lead guitarist Phil Collen who also stands front & center on MR lead vocals, the Sex Pistol’s iconic drummer Paul Cook, and Collen’s former Girl band bassist Simon Laffy brings in 2012 with a fast paced tribute for one of Britain’s best and brightest in the world of BSB.

Tommy Hill secured the MCE Insurance British Super Bike Championship title after an epic climax during the 2011 season celebrating an emotional maiden crown at Brands Hatch back in October 2011. His pivotal journey to winning the championship is chronicled in two documentaries created by avid motorbike rider & veteran film maker Mark Sloper. In 2011 Manraze debuted their kinetic single ‘I, Superbiker’, aptly titled after the film, as the theme song for the first half of this electric series of motorbike racing and personal, introspective looks into the lives of the die-hard contenders. Director Mark Sloper continued his emotional chronicle in part 2 of the series “The Showdown: I, Super Biker II” due to be released in 135 theatres across the UK February 21, 2012. This time around Sloper places an even greater focus on Tommy Hill who lost the 2010 BSB race due to injuries sustained during a crash but manages to triumphantly emerge in the film’s sequel as the 2011 British Super Bike champion winning by 0.006of a second. Once again Mark approached Manraze about delivering a game-changing anthem that would embody the spirit of the British super bike racers.

Manraze’s new energetic rock/dance track ‘Take On The World’ featuring newcomer Debbi Blackwell-Cook, is a tribute written for the strength & unmoving dedication Tommy Hill put forth to win the 2011 BSB championship. Phil Collen states, “Tommy’s been through the ringer. I love stories about people overcoming such adversity. Writing this song for him was a no-brainer. Check out his history.
