DORO – METAL QUEEN RECEIVES METAL HAMMER “LEGEND“ AWARD!

Friday the 13th, 2013 for sure was a day of good luck, unlike the notorious date. At 10:30 pm, at the celebratory ceremony of METAL HAMMER AWARDS in Berlin, 48-times Berlin World boxing champion Regina Halmich announces the winner of the category “Legend”. Her name: DORO Pesch!

Now the most important female Hard Rock and Heavy Metal singer is officially named a legend in her native Germany. Just three months earlier, DORO had been awarded at the “Golden Gods Awards“ at music mecca London.

“Unbelievable”, a shining DORO states. “The prophet does not count that much in his own country. Receiving this trophy in Germany and getting it handed over by my dear friend Regina Halmich is a big, big honor.”

DORO continues: “I am ever so happy, that also two of my absolute favorite bands METALLICA and MOTÖRHEAD were present at this wonderful event to witness this. With those guys I’ve been close friends for years.”

Two “Legend“ Awards within just three months – the double-coronation for the blonde Rock-Queen and this in the year of her 30th stage anniversary.

Her fans can also take part in the celebration and enjoy the living legend live from October 12 onwards. At that time DORO will be embarking on her big 30 years Strong and Proud-Tour through Germany. Highlight: The double concert on May 2/3 2014 at her hometown Düsseldorf (CCD – Stadthalle).

Tridroid Records is pleased to announce that we will be handling the vinyl release of the new Tyrants Blood album Into the Kingdom of Graves.

Tyrants Blood were conceived in late summer 2005 , and solidified its original lineup in January of 2006. Started by ex Witches Hammer/Blasphemy guitarist Marco Banco (traditional sodomizer of the Goddess of Perversity) and local drummer Kevin Volatile, the group now consists of Marco Banco, ex Abuse drummer Matt Blood Modder, Infernal majesty vocalist Brian Messiah Langley and Bass/vocalist Vinnie Borden.

Their début album was released by Morbid Moon records out of Montreal Quebec in late 2006. Then in 2007 they were signed to Ireland’s main metal company Invictus records, where they released both the 2007 EP titled Prophecy and their latest full length album from 2009 titled, Crushing Onward Into oblivion. This latest release has also been picked up by Mutilation records out of Sao Paolo Brazil for distribution in South America.

Since their inception, Tyrants Blood have supported their efforts with live shows throughout western Canada, South America and Europe. The band recently released their latest album Into the Kingdom of Graves on CD and will be releasing the vinyl version on Tridroid Records in October 2013.

LA KISS HIRE BOB MCMILLEN AS HEAD COACH

McMillen to Bring His Football Expertise and AFL Knowledge to Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA – LA KISS Co-Owners Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Doc McGhee and Brett Bouchy have announced the inaugural Head Coach of the team as AFL veteran, Bob McMillen.

Before joining LA KISS as their new head coach, McMillen had a lengthy playing career in the AFL and retired in 2007 as the league’s second all-time leading rusher for both career yards and rushing attempts. After retiring as a player, McMillen was hired by the Chicago Rush and served as Head Coach for the team for three years. In 2013 McMillen was also elected into the AFL Hall of Fame for his services to the game.

Brett Bouchy, co-owner of LA KISS said “During our search for the first-ever head coach of LA KISS, we knew we had to get a coach with relevant AFL playing and coaching experience – someone well respected around the league and beyond”

In 2013, McMillen received Head Coach of the Year honors from the Arena Football League and was elected into the Arena Football Hall of Fame.

“I’m beyond excited to be given the honor of being named the first head coach of LA KISS,” stated Bob McMillen, head coach of LA KISS. “I’m very much looking forward to putting in the hard work with our team and owners, and in the end producing a top tier product both on and off the field.”

McMillen will be tasked with leading the charge for LA KISS on the field in their inaugural season, and expectations will be high with the new AFL franchise. LA KISS ownership is confident in his ability to lead the team and field an excellent team that will be expected to make an immediate impact.

Gene Simmons of KISS said, ‘‘We’re proud to announce Bob McMillen as head coach of our LA KISS AFL team. Bob shares our passion for bringing real, in-your-face football to the fans and he has a take no prisoner’s attitude which is the LA KISS philosophy. Go big, or go home’’

Paul Stanley of Kiss added ‘’Bob McMillen is another step in deepening our line in the sand. From the ground up we are building a team that will accept nothing less than victory. We will win’’

ALTERBEAST – Joins Unique Leader Records

ALTERBEAST – Sacramento Technical Death Metal legion ALTERBEAST is pleased to announce their union with Unique Leader Records.

Formed in 2011 under the working title Gary Busey Amber Alert (GBAA), ALTERBEAST combines influences from the likes of The Black Dahlia Murder, Necrophagist and Spawn of Possession with numerous classic Death Metal acts like Dissection and Morbid Angel, into an infuriated expulsion of animosity. After a year of dedicated song-crafting, ALTERBEAST unleashed their first demo in 2012 and played countless shows opening for Deicide, Dying Fetus, Testament, Revocation, Exhumed, Severed Savior and many others. Their crushing live assaults combined with a DIY ethos quickly earned them a revered place within the local Death Metal community.

Earlier this year, ALTERBEAST entered Augmented Audio at Sound Temple Studios to record their debut. Titled Immortal, the record was engineered by former The Black Dahlia Murder bassist Ryan “Bart” Williams. The band later enlisted Gabe Seeber (The Kennedy Veil) to the drum stool, returned to the studio – this time at Oakland’s Castle Ultimate with engineer Zack Ohren (Light This City, All Shall Perish, First Blood, Cattle Decapitation, Warbringer et al) – to record drums, mix and master the album.

Slated for release in early 2014 via Unique Leader, Immortal will feature eight tracks of brutal, uncompromising death metal mastery. Check out the band’s personal signing announcement HERE.

EXHUMER – Unleashes New Track With Apochs.net

Italian grind masters EXHUMER and Comatose Music have joined forces with Apoch’s Metal Review for the premier of a brand new track off the band’s forthcoming album, Degraded by Sepsis.

The track, entitled Vapours of Cadaveric Mucilage, has been posted for your neck-snapping enjoyment at this location.

Ruthless and calculating, Degraded by Sepsis marks the first recorded output from one of Italy’s sickest Death Metal exports since their 2008 full-length debut, Bloodcurdling Tool of Digestion. This new release displays rabid skills of technical brutality, inhuman speed and supreme aggression while leaving a trail of blood-soaked anguish in the unavoidable aftermath. Album artwork for Degraded by Sepsis by the renowned Jon Zig.

A PERFECT CIRCLE – ANNOUNCES THREE SIXTY; A GREATEST HITS COLLECTION AVAILABLE IN STANDARD AND DELUXE EDITIONS ON NOV. 19th

Sept. 17, 2013, LOS ANGELES – A Perfect Circle, the multi-platinum rock band helmed by Maynard James Keenan (TOOL, Puscifer) and Billy Howerdel (Ashes Divide), issue THREE SIXTY, the outfit’s first greatest hits collection, via Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) on Nov. 19.

The release also includes A Perfect Circle’s first new original, studio recording in a decade with the inclusion of By And Down,a song written after the band returned from their self-imposed hiatus for a series of live performances throughout 2010 and 2011.

“Billy and I created A Perfect Circle out of a now long-running friendship, and I think the music we have made reflects that personal connection and has given us the ability to further develop and trust our intuition,” explained Keenan. “I feel THREE SIXTY is an accurate representation of that friendship and those instincts.”

A Perfect Circle formed in the late ‘90s with Keenan and Howerdel making up the core of the band with a number of well-known musicians having recorded and/or toured with the outfit including James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins), Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens of the Stone Age, Failure), Paz Lenchantin (Entrance Band, Zwan), Jeordie White (Marilyn Manson), Josh Freese (The Vandals, Devo) and Tim Alexander (Primus).

The band released their first album, Mer de Noms in 2000, which debuted in the Top 5 on Billboard’s Top 200 and quickly established the group as one of rock music’s biggest bands of the new millennium. Following extensive international touring, A Perfect Circle began work on Thirteenth Step which saw a late 2003 release and landed at #2 on Billboard’s Top 200 in its debut week.

The outfit’s third release, a covers’ album titled eMOTIVe, was released on Election Day 2004 and featured re-imagined versions of songs by a varied group of artists including John Lennon, Black Flag, Joni Mitchell and Devo. Following the release of eMOTIVe, Keenan and Howerdel focused on their individual projects with Keenan working on TOOL’s 10,000 Days and launching the multimedia electro-rock outfit Puscifer and Howerdel creating Ashes Divide. A Perfect Circle has sold over five million albums worldwide.

A Perfect Circle also recently announced the release of a limited edition box set titled A Perfect Circle Live: Featuring Stone And Echo. The collection, which focuses on the band’s live outings from 2010-2011 includes a full-length DVD of the outfit’s August 2011 Red Rock’s concert (with accompanying audio) as well as a 3-cd collection of live releases, one dedicated to each of the three studio albums from the band’s discography. Big Guns are a new Classic Rock band born from the ashes of the highly regarded Twister. Renowned for their powerful live rock performances and having played extensively across Ireland on the pub, bike rally & festival circuit, Big Guns are set to inject a new leash of life into Classic Hard Rock.
