IMPENDING DOOM – “Baptized In Filth” Releases March 13th, Via eOne Music

Southern California Death Metal road warriors, IMPENDING DOOM are releasing their next onslaught of gorship “Baptized in Filth” three weeks from today on March 13th, 2012. Produced by Andreas Magnusson (The Black Dahlia Murder) and Machine, this is the bands fourth full length and most ferocious effort to date. Bassist David Sittig comments:

“Baptized in filth represents the mindless indulgence and self worship in the vile world we live in. This album is meant to scare the hell out of you!”

IMPENDING DOOM has also confirmed for this years Metal Alliance Tour along side acts like Devildriver, Job For a Cowboy and Dying Fetus. If that wasn’t enough the band is also playing select dates on this years VANS Warped Tour this Summer.

As I was trolling around for some cool Metal festivals for 2012, I came across Metal Hammer Presents: Destroyers Of The Faith 2012. The concert poster pic above says it all! Cannibal Corpse, Triptykon, Enslaved and Job For A Cowboy. ‘Nuff said there, when it comes to Metal of the Extreme! This potently Extreme Metal tour takes place this March    7th through the 11th out in the UK.

The new CANNIBAL CORPSE studio album TORTURE, releases on March 13, 2012 in North America, via Metal Blade Records.

SIX FEET UNDER – Announce New Bassist!

Jeff Hughell, former bassist for Brain Drill & Vile, has been chosen as new SFU bassist!

Within days of announcing the departure of Matt DeVries, SIX FEET UNDER has locked in the latest addition to the bands already heavy and extremely talented lineup. Seven-string bassist Jeff Hughell, formerly of the Santa Cruz California technical Death Metal band Brain Drill and Concord California Death Metal band Vile, will be joining the ranks as the new SIX FEET UNDER bassist. KITTIE – Trish Doan Returns As Bassist

The cat’s out of the bag!

After posting a few teasers on their facebook page about a big announcement regarding the band’s future, KITTIE have now announced the departure of their bassist Ivy Vujic and the return of Trish Doan!

In a statement on the band’s website Ivy wrote:

“After 4 amazing years of jamming with my crazy metal sisters of Kittie, I am officially resigning as their bass player.

I’ve had an incredible time touring the world with these ladies and I am very grateful for all the fun I’ve had and amazing things I’ve had the opportunity to experience.

My last appearances with Kittie will be our upcoming hometown shows in London (February 17th) and Toronto (February 18th), as well as the Soundwave festival in Australia immediately after (February 25th – March 5th). I wish the Kittie girls the best of luck in all of their future endeavours and I know they will continue to be successful in whatever they do.”

Trish comments:

“I am very happy to be reunited with the Kittie family. The girls and I have remained close friends over the last 7 years and I am excited to have this amazing opportunity. I am looking forward to seeing everyone when we go back on the road this spring. I wish Ivy all the best!”

Morgan Lander about Ivy’s departure and Trish’s return:

“Ivy has been friend and partner in crime for over 4 years, we love and respect her wishes to depart from the band and move onto another phase in her life.

Trish has been a member of our extended family since she joined the band in 2005 and we are welcoming her back into the band with open arms.  We are ecstatic that she will be returning to bass duties and are looking forward to the (US) tour this spring! We love both girls and are glad that we all remain friends, first and foremost.”

KOSHER METAL – Releases “The Kosher Komp Vol. 2” – And It’s A Free Download!

KOSHER METAL RELEASES ANOTHER COMPILATION ALBUM!

Southern California-based online Metal radio station Kosher Metal have released their second compilation album called “The Kosher Komp Vol. 2” via their website at http://koshermetal.com/kosher-komp

The compilation (along with Vol. 1) is available for free download and contains nearly 30 tracks from 16 unsigned and independent bands. An interactive PDF is included along with the compilation artwork. There is also a Limited Edition CD version available with only 150 copies made and individually numbered, for those who want something physical.

Kosher Metal founder and on-air personality ManJewky stated the following regarding the compilation series: “It’s a tough world out there for unsigned and independent Metal bands, but we at Kosher Metal are doing everything we can to help get these bands heard. I have been on both sides of the spectrum. I have been in bands but I’ve also done a lot of work on the business end of things. With all of my knowledge and experience, it would be a shame to let that go to waste. Besides, I want to be able to provide some opportunities that my old bands never had.”

GRAVEWORM – Announces Changes To Band Lineup

The Italian Dark Metal outfit GRAVEWORM announce some changes respective to the Line-Up. Founding member and guitar player Stefan Unterpertinger returns after about 10 years to the band.

He takes the guitar-part from Thomas Orgler who left the band because of personal reasons.

Keyboard player Sabine Mair left the band because of personal reasons as well.

Stefano Fiori (vocalist) commented:
“It’s a pity not to have Thomas and Sabine in the band anymore. But of course we wish them all the best for their future. All the more we are glad to have Stefan back in the band. We practise hardly and we feel that there’s still good chemistry between us. With Stefan a GRAVEWORM founding member is back, so: welcome home, Stefan!”

The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival has 26 dates on its Metal journey across the United States this Summer of 2012! This Metal potent festival begins on June 30th at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California and finishes on August 5th at the Comcast Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut. Metal be thy name!

The main stage for this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival will feature Slipknot, Slayer and a major special guest which will be announced on March 5th. The fourth slot on the main stage will feature a rotation of The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying and Asking Alexandria.

In 2012 the tour has upgraded the production on the festival stage and this year the Jagermeister Stage will feature a special headline set by Anthrax supported by a rotation of The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying and Asking Alexandria, along with Whitechapel, High On Fire and the Jagermeister opener. KATAKLYSM – ‘The Iron Will’ DVD Cover Revealed And 2nd Trailer Posted Online!

Montreal based Extreme Metallers KATAKLYSM will release a multi-disc DVD this Spring entitled The Iron Will: 20 Years Determined, which features a documentary and bonus CD materials. The set will depict the ups and downs of the band’s long, turbulent career, as well as footage of KATAKLYSM’s performance at last year’s Summer Breeze festival, which took place August 18-20, 2011 in Dinkelsbühl, Germany. The cover art for the release was created by artist Colin Marks (ORIGIN, EXODUS, NEVERMORE) and can be viewed above.

KATAKLYSM recently recorded the single The Iron Will in Montreal, Canada with guitarist/producer Jean-François Dagenais. It will be mixed by Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, BEHEMOTH, MNEMIC) in Denmark and will be made available with a video clip on iTunes one month before the release of The Iron Will: 20 Years Determined.

The footage was taken from the bands hometown show at Club Soda in Montreal, which was part of their recent “Spread the Venom” headlining world tour. CANNIBAL CORPSE – Reigning Kings Of Death Metal Set To Release Twelfth Studio Album: ‘Torture’

America’s reigning kings of brutality, CANNIBAL CORPSE, will unleash their twelfth studio offering this March via Metal Blade Records. Aptly titled Torture, the follow-up to 2009’s Evisceration Plague offers up 12 tracks of maniacally precise, soul-searing Death Metal. Torture was again produced by Hate Eternal’s Erik Rutan at his own Mana Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida as well as Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, and features the maniacal cover art by longtime CANNIBAL CORPSE artist, Vincent Locke, viewable HERE.

While Torture marks the latest progression in the band’s sound, it also witnesses a return to what drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz accurately terms “the frenzied attack of Butchered At Birth (1991) or Tomb Of The Mutilated (1992),” infusing the band’s advanced musicianship with the raw savagery that haunted their earlier releases, and in the process conceiving the definitive CANNIBAL CORPSE record. Adds bassist Alex Webster on the outcome of the record: “We’re extremely happy with how Torture turned out. Erik Rutan did an amazing job with the production, and the songwriting and performances may be our strongest yet. We can’t wait until our fans get to hear the whole thing!”

VORE – Gravehammer Reaches #4 On Amazon.com Death Metal Charts

The iron fist of the underground, VORE, has reached a new milestone in their already legendary DIY career. Barely a month after its release, VORE’s latest symphony of destruction, Gravehammer, reached the #4 spot on Amazon.com’s Death Metal downloads chart. The long-awaited follow up to 2005’s Maleficus, Gravehammer, sees VORE’s battle-ready brand of Death Metal taken to a new level of intensity and aggression. VORE has been cranking out their unique blend of crushing, Doom-laden Death Metal since 1994. VORE draws upon Death, Thrash and Traditional Metal influences to create an onslaught of titanic power and heaviness. VORE‘s mid-paced rhythmic style is built around strong riffs and songcraft, rather than all out speed, which sets them apart from current trends in Death Metal. I bought this release on CD and it has served me right. Forever Abomination has kicked my Metal ass, many times over. I’m not bullshitting either. Below are 5 reasons why you MUST buy Forever Abomination.

Reason #1: SKELETONWITCH seamlessly unites Thrash and Death Metal grooves resulting in a Metal sound that is Skeletelextreme.

Reason #2: Chance Garnette. His vocals are drenched with Black Metal tones and he sings on this album at his most venomous best yet. Chance has to have steel reinforced vocal cords. How else could he sing at such an optimum level of aggression?

Reason #3: If you’re looking to have your ears and senses galvanized, then rest assured, Forever Abomination will have you staring into space as you wonder what just happened to you. Yes, you will yearn for more.

Set to kick off on February 24 in Barcelona, Spain, the band will mercilessly tear through 16 cities. Speakers will blow, ears will bleed, villages will crumble. You have been warned. The band will be joined by label-mates Rotten Sound and Magrudergrind.

If you don’t like blastbeats, manic energy, beer, stage-diving, rhino charges, swinging thumbjumps or Scott Carlson bass grinds, do yourself a favor and stay the fuck home! This tour, in addition to being a screaming whirlwind holocaust, will single-handedly bring the phrase ‘play fast or die!’ back en vogue.
