Spain’s SEPULCRHAL Releasing “From Beyond The Burial Mound” On Soulseller Records in February

Bilbao (ES) – Soulseller Records proudly presents From Beyond The Burial Mound, the full-length debut album from Spanish death metal maggots SEPULCHRAL! The album will be released February 25 on CD, vinyl LP, and digital formats.

The album’s first single, “Harbor of Drifting Souls,” is available on all digital platforms, including youtu.be/dLyjBrFb3gw.

SEPULCHRAL crawled out of the coffin when main composer Dusk wanted to release some old school death metal in the vein hof the old European bands. He composed four songs in 2015, but it was not until 2016 that he and the guitarist Wolf recorded a demo with two of those tracks called Rest In Sepulchral Darkness. After the nice reception the duo recorded a second demo the following year, Dust Of The Rotting Dead, but this time accompanied by new member Gaueko, who was in charge of the guitars and some vocals.

In 2018, Wolf left the band, and Dusk and Gaueko continued with the recording of an EP (Graveyard Repugnance) that they released in 2019. In 2020 Dusk recruited a new member to take care of the guitars and drums, leaving Gaueko in charge of vocals only.

Now, SEPULCHRAL arise from the tomb with their first full-length album, packed with catchy, putrid, crusty death metal that will make you jump from your coffin! From Beyond The Burial Mound was recorded by the band members themselves, mixed and mastered by Gorka Pérez, and features cover art by Jaime P.S.

Hellbent is a fierce five-song blast of readily identifiable IMPENDING DOOM brutality. The EP showcases the enduring trio who formed the creative core of the band in Riverside, California: Sittig, vocalist Brook Reeves, and guitarist Manny Contreras. “Satanic Panic,” “New World Horror,” “Culture of Death,” “I Must End,” and the title track are punishingly incisive entries into the band’s esteemed canon, which stretches back to their 2005 demo. As reliably as ever, the band warn of society’s inevitable destructive collapse through crushing heaviness, punishing death and grindcore riffing, impossibly guttural growls and a steadfast reverence for Christ.

Recorded with engineer Joseph Calleiro at Dungeon by the Sea in Los Angeles and mixed by longtime band collaborator Will Putney (Knocked Loose, The Ghost Inside, Thy Art Is Murder), Hellbent also comes adorned with the arresting cover art of Jim Pavelec, an illustrator specializing in the occult, sci-fi, horror and fantasy; including pieces for classic RPG Dungeons & Dragons.

The Sin And Doom Of Godless Men, IMPENDING DOOM’s devastating 2005 demo, was shocking in its urgent immediacy and its unashamed outspokenness. But that demo was merely a step toward the total devastation that was their debut album, Nailed. Dead. Risen. (2007), which shook the proverbial Earth with its uncompromising vision of what they had transfigured with elements of death metal, grind, and hardcore.

The series of increasingly diverse and intense releases that followed never compromised, always challenging, and pushing the limits of the genre, with the likes of The Serpent Servant (2009), There Will Be Violence (2010), Baptized In Filth (2012), Death Will Reign (2013), and the back-to-basics bludgeoning of The Sin And Doom, Vol. II (2018) appealing to the faithful and faithless alike.

ILIUM Release Lyric Video – EP OUT NOW!

Australian metal band ILIUM are streaming their new EP Quantum Evolution Event now! To celebrate the release, the band has released a lyric video for their track “Undergods”.

Melding dark supernatural and sci-fi themes with an exploration of the human condition and the natural world, ILIUM create a huge melodic sound combining influences from power, traditional, progressive, thrash and symphonic metal. Quantum Evolution Event follows the release of ILIUM’s 2020 album Carcinogeist and its accompanying EP Enviro-Metal.

Hailing from Newcastle, Australia, ILIUM released their debut, self-titled EP in 2002. Working with a wealth of guest musicians and producers over the years including Mike DiMeo (RIOT, MASTERPLAN), Tommy Hansen (HELLOWEEN, PAGAN’S MIND, PRETTY MAIDS) and Lance King (BALANCE OF POWER, AVIAN), Quantum Evolution Event is no different. The new EP features long-time collaborators Tim Yatras (DUNGEON, LORD, GERM) on drums and Lord Tim (LORD, BLACKENED ANGEL, FROMBEYOND) on vocals and production.

Striving to further develop their sound with each release, the dynamic outfit deliver epic lead melodies and solos and soaring vocals, and compose arrangements designed with dramatic impact in mind. Quantum Evolution Event opens with a flourish of melodic theatrics in the title track. Harsh distortion from the guitars and powerful percussion is balanced with ethereal synths and harmony filled vocals. At long last the successor to 2017’s Deliverance from the Godless Void has been unconfined from the clandestine vaults of Dark Descent Records. Aptly titled Fires of the Dying World, Finland’s DESOLATE SHRINE delivers 46 minutes of their unique death metal possession. Blasting out of the savage underground of south-central Texas, the trio unshackle a dynamic sound born out of speed and thrash, with a riotous rock ‘n’ roll edge. Attacking with a powerful brutality, XIL’s new album speeds through the light barrier with intense energy that refuses to let up. “Speedemons” races at redneck speed following the dark entities in their mission to pillage and plunder the human species. “Breakneck” begins with a slower tempo building up to a dramatic transition into hard-hitting percussion and kick-ass guitar riffs.

Creating a wall of sound with the instrumentation, XIL’s vocals soar above the utter heavy chaos, bringing their own raw, aggressive impact into the mix. Nameless Grave Records presents Crest Of The Martyrs Demos, an alternate/demo version of TWISTED TOWER DIRE’s adored third album, making the recordings available for the first time.

In the days of olde, after classic heavy metal was supplanted by extreme music and before the current reignition of interest that the genre has enjoyed, Northern Virginia’s TWISTED TOWER DIRE tirelessly defended true heavy metal in all forms as they sought to breathe new light into a then largely dead genre. By the time their now-legendary third album Crest Of The Martyrs was written they were on top of the world, having played Wacken for the first time a couple years earlier and having released two full-lengths on The Miskatonic Foundation, run by Rich Walker of Solstice fame, as well as a wide array of EPs, splits, compilation tracks, and more.

Crest Of The Martyrs was the next step: a bigger power metal label, sleeker production, and TWISTED TOWER DIRE’s biggest hooks and choruses yet. Underneath the gleaming power metal edge provided by the production provided by the label and studio still lurked the same triumphing true metal band, however, and for the first time, Nameless Grave Records is proud to present Crest Of The Martyrs the way the band originally intended it: as a devastating, lean set of heavy metal bangers untouched by modern power metal production, and alternate studio decisions.

Old fans of the band can rejoice to have this different set of recordings available for the first time, and new fans can marvel at the powerhouse of one of America’s finest bands playing at their best. Highly recommended for fans of Visigoth, Pharaoh, and Omen.

Recorded in 2002 at Killabrew Studios, produced by Matt Crooks and TWISTED TOWER DIRE, and mastered by Dan Lowndes at Resonance Sound Studios, Crest Of The Martyrs Demos is completed with artwork personally done for this release by guitarist Scott Waldrop. The CD version features bonus tracks not included on the vinyl, including a second demo as well as a live track from Wacken 2003, and both the CD and vinyl editions bear liner notes from the band. The LP will be pressed in a total run of 500 copies, including 300 on Black and 100 on Silver. No Remorse Records (Greece) will have an exclusive 100 copies on Light Blue vinyl.

UDO DIRKSCHNEIDER – To Release New Album “My Way” On April 22nd Via Atomic Fire Records

UDO DIRKSCHNEIDER is THE constant among the German metal scene. Originally becoming world-famous as a founding member of Accept, he continues to steadily expand upon his international successes with his U.D.O. and DIRKSCHNEIDER outfits. Remaining true to himself over the years in a way few musicians could, Dirkschneider consistently bucks music industry trends in favor of following his heart and his most personal and extraordinary album to date will be released on April 22nd via Atomic Fire Records.

Titled My Way, the record contains seventeen cover versions of the very songs that have influenced the musician and singer the most. All kinds of classics from music history are among them – including those that you might not expect from Dirkschneider. Not only does a very personal story lie behind each of the tracks, but also a sometimes-surprising arrangement that, despite the very individual implementation, lives and breathes Udo’s manuscript throughout.

Udo: “Now, when I hear the song, I remember the time when, as a very young Udo, I’d go out to light up the town and lived all the stories that can only be experienced late at night in the clubs,” he recalls. Here, Alex Harvey’s “Faith Healer” allows the artist to feel those days of an era long past. The fact that “Nutbush City Limits” is also on the album reveals a secret rarely told until now, “What hardly anyone knows so far: I was a huge fan of Ike and Tina Turner, and especially Tina’s voice. We always covered this song during Accept rehearsals in the early days. It was one of the mainstays of our Accept rehearsal repertoire for years. Regrettably, there is no recording of it.”

With Wolfsheim’s “Kein Zurück,” Dirkschneider sings in German for the first time in his career, “I immediately felt like the words understood me. MESHUGGAH – Announces New Album “Immutable” For April 1st Via Atomic Fire – Album Preorders Start January 28th

For guitarist Mårten Hagström, the task of embarking on another unprecedented tech-metal odyssey was impossible to resist.

The journey begins October 29th in Anaheim, California and will wind its way through over two dozen cities, coming to a close December 9th in San Francisco, California. INDUCTION – Signs To Atomic Fire Records – New Band Lineup Revealed

Progressive power metal with symphonic influences creating an epic and heroic atmosphere topped with catchy, soaring vocals, melodic solos, thunderous drums, and massive orchestration (crafted by Peter Crowley): that’s how the soundscapes of international outfit INDUCTION could best be described.

Originally founded in 2014, the band left their first mark with first single, “The Outwitted Consecration” (2016) before officially entering the metal world with their self-titled debut album in 2019. Its enormously positive reception paved the way to touring across Europe alongside Brazilian power metallers Armored Dawn in November of the same year. It was a notable career start for the quintet that was unfortunately halted by the still-ongoing pandemic ultimately leading to a break (at least on the live front) that was to work on their sophomore album and renew their power.

Atomic Fire Records is pleased to welcome INDUCTION and their new lineup — vocalist Craig Cairns (ex-Midnight Prophecy), guitarists Tim Kanoa Hansen and Marcos Rodriguez (ex-Rage), bassist Dominik Gusch, and drummer Kian Kiesling — to its roster.

Comments Hansen of the new union, “I am very pleased to announce today that INDUCTION and Atomic Fire Records are now partnered for musical ventures in the years to come. We are confident that we have found the right partners for our music and vision. Their incredibly capable and experienced team, sharing the passion and love for our music in the same way the band does itself, lets everyone involved look forward to an amazing future where INDUCTION will be elevated to a new level and touch the hearts of many more people with our music.”

Says Atomic Fire Records CEO Flori Milz, “When I got the debut album of the guys two years ago, I was totally excited. At that time, I tried to win the band for my own label Reaper Entertainment, but Reaper was still in its infancy and unfortunately nothing came into being. So, I’m even more happy that the band have now signed a worldwide contract with Atomic Fire Records. I’m still a very big fan and I’m really looking forward to our common future and of course the new album.”

The first fruit of this partnership will be revealed in the form of a new single, “Sacrifice,” on February 4th.

PLANEPACKED – Announces New Album

Metaltronica project PLANEPACKED will release their new studio album Transactinides on April 8th, 2022. Transactinides is the first full-length release from the band since frontwoman Jessica Kagan’s gender transition and explores the experience of recreating oneself.

“Transactinides is the 2nd full length album from PLANEPACKED, scheduled to release on April 8th, 2022. It further develops and expands on the metaltronica sound of my debut (Critical Mass).
