Chicago Death/Doom deviants, COKEGOAT, are pleased to spew forth their debut full-length, Vessel. Recorded at Bricktop Recording on their home turf, the album was engineered by Andy Nelson of Weekend Nachos, mastered by renowned sound serpent Carl Saff (Unsane, Red Fang, Earthless et al) and offers up eight tracks of violent, face-raping Death/Doom centered around life, death, the earth, the moon and beyond.
Comprised of three guitarists, three voices, synths, bass and drums, COKEGOAT crafts a straightforward yet intricate brand of heavy. Think Electric Wizard meets Mastodon, or Black Sabbath circa ’73 – ’76.

Swedish Thrash purists KAYSER have just signed a long-term deal with Listenable Records. KAYSER has just completed work on their Listenable debut, entitled Read Your Enemy. The album is set for release in early 2014. The band is currently working with Sinemax Productions on a video for as-of-yet-unnamed track. More details to come.
KAYSER saw the first ray of light in early June 2004 when Spice (ex Spiritual Beggars), Mattias Svensson (also The Defaced), Bob Ruben (ex The Mushroom River Band) and Fredrik Finnander decided to join forces to create a pure Metal band. The band’s sound is fully immersed in true original Heavy/Thrash Metal genre with emphasis on the muscular songwriting : hammering blistering and catchy riffs one after another, delivering the goods through scorching witty arrangements with fluid virtuosity. Focus always lies on the song, easily identifiable through the supreme vocals by Spice, though the emotional and musical expressions stretch from heavy introvert pounding to pure hate driven ferocity.
“No boundaries and no limits… and that goes for everything,” the members stated initially to set the aim straight. As for comparisons, it might be best described as a mutation of Black Sabbath/Megadeth/Slayer with dips from different good bowls of Classic and Modern Metal. Popular for their incendiary shows, KAYSER enforces the pillars of metal with absolute authority. KAYSER became a much talked about live act among the Metal fans, rampaging cities across Europe with bands like VOLBEAT and more.
REPTILIAN DEATH – TheDemonstealer (drums, guitars & bass) is the Metal mastermind behind the sheer evil that lurks within the Death Metal attack of REPTILIAN DEATH, while fronted by the sinister Vinay Venkatesh. Honestly, The Dawn Of Consummation And Emergence came upon me this year like an unexpected high from the Metal Gods of Center Earth! I had no idea about the existence of such a dark and venomous Death Metal advocate, such as Demonstealer. Now I do know and I’m a better night dweller for it.
If you think the album cover art screams bloody-cruel Death Metal nightmares from Hell… wait till you listen to this album! Yes, this is a substantial case where one can judge an album by its cover for the better. REPTILIAN DEATH have created one of the best Death Metal albums I’ve had the privilege to listen to during 2013; while standing up to being one of thebest Death Metal albums I’ve ever heard. Sometimes the best Metal surprises of 2013 come in the most dark and wicked of packages.
Make NO Metal mistake, REPTILIAN DEATH are not taking any prisoners with their Death Metal. This amazing Death Metal band from Mumbai (also known as Bombay) India, justifiably has my Metal endorsement and I’m not letting go! Relentless, furious, (of course, evil) and brain stinging Death Metal is all I hear on The Dawn Of Consummation And Emergence. The quality of musicianship, horrifying and mean-spirited vocals, combined with a trueness to the genre, are the deadly attributes I hear on this album. No over-production and no rats-ass filler; just straight-up Death Metal the way I cherish it, both musically and lyrically. Metal be thy name.
As reported on the Century Media Records Facebook page:
CALIBAN have just revealed the unique cover art for their upcoming album “Ghost Empire”. Guitarist Marc Görtz on the art of “Ghost Empire” that was created by UK artist Chris Lovell:
“Another great artist told me about Chris and his art, when I checked out his page I loved his style and amazing drawings straight away. So I wrote him a message if he would be into designing a t-shirt design for us. It turned out great, so there was no doubt whom to ask for the new album artwork for ‘Ghost Empire’! I told him what the album is about and he said that he would love to do it. It didn’t take long for him to come up with first ideas which were amazing! I hope we can work with him on other projects in the future, he is a great guy and easy to work with and I think the result speaks for itself!”
“Ghost Empire” will be out on January 27th in Europe & February 4th in North America!

The critically adored new SKELETONWITCH offering, Serpents Unleashed, debuted on this week’s Billboard 200 at #62, marking the highest chart position of the band’s career! The record’s first-week sales marked a 68% jump from those of its 2011 predecessor, Forever Abomination.
Additionally, Serpents Unleashed debuted at #5 on this week’s Vinyl Albums chart, #7 on the Hard Rock Albums chart, #10 on the Independent Albums chart, #17 on the Internet Albums chart and #20 on the Rock Albums chart. Serpents Unleashed also debuted on the Top Current Albums chart at #87 in Canada, where the album reached #11 on the Hard Music chart as well.
Formed in Ohio a decade ago, SKELETONWITCH has received considerable acclaim for its trademark “blackened metal,” which Metal Hammer calls, “a potent brew of everything that makes metal so brilliant, vital and special.” The group’s relentless work ethic — personified by a 63-concerts-in-65-days test of endurance last year — is second to none in the genre, and true to form, the band is currently in the midst of an extensive North American tour with The Black Dahlia Murder. That tour will be followed by a US trek in early 2014 alongside Amon Amarth and Enslaved. International tour dates will be announced shortly.
Recorded earlier this year with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Isis, High On Fire), Serpents Unleashedfeatures artwork by John Baizley (Baroness, Kylesa, Kvelertak), who also designed the memorable cover of the group’s 2007 breakthrough Beyond The Permafrost. Subsequent releases Breathing The Fire (2009) and Forever Abomination (2011) — both of which cracked the Billboard Top 200 — cemented the group’s reputation as one of metal’s most important acts, and tours with the likes of Danzig, Arch Enemy, Children of Bodom, Cannibal Corpse and a slot on Ozzfest helped to cultivate one of the genre’s most passionate fanbases.
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of PRIMAL FEAR’s new album “Delivering the Black” on January 24th in Europe and January 28th in North America.
PRIMAL FEAR – On the heels of the general consensus met by the previous studio album “Unbreakable” which was the band’s highest chart entry in Germany at Position #31, charting in 7 other countries, PRIMAL FEAR are only getting better with time and metal fans around the world are acknowledging this.
After some very intense songwriting sessions and pre-production schedule, the band started to record the new album, “Delivering The Black” in summer 2013 at the House of Music studios in Germany, with producer Mat Sinner and engineer Achim Koehler. The idea was to create the most powerful PRIMAL FEAR album ever! The band then moved to Denmark in September to finish the album with acclaimed producer/engineer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Pretty Maids, Amaranthe) handling the mix.
“Delivering The Black” combines the strongest Primal Fear moments ever, with a well-balanced typical PRIMAL FEAR trademark riff-vibe, crushing songs and some very ambitious musical journeys. The centerpiece of the album is the two epic tracks “When Death Comes Knocking” and the 10 minute opus “One Night In December”, spiced with big orchestral arrangements and complex sound designs.
Classic and ultra-fresh PRIMAL FEAR riff-rockers like the title track, the album opener “King For A Day” or the groove monsters “Alive And On Fire” and “Road To Asylum” hit the bulls-eye just like the untamed speed killer “Rebel Faction”. The outstanding ballad “Born With A Broken Heart” shows a new side of PRIMAL FEAR with an acoustic guitar vibe and the addition of LivKristine (Leaves’ Eyes) on backing vocals.
Singer Ralf Scheepers says: “We worked hard to create our best album ever. I already felt the vibe during the pre-production, that we were working on something very special this time! And now the result is just an amazing Metal album, I’m extremely proud of!”
Producer/bassist Mat Sinner adds: “The songs, the production, the sound – this album is a very special one for me and my career. In my view, everybody in the band just did a killer job and Jacob was fantastic choice to mix the album!”
The release of “Delivering the Black” will be anticipated by the release of the digital only single / video “When Death Comes Knocking” on December 2nd – a song which sets the pace for the outstanding quality of production and songwriting displayed on the full album. You can enjoy a sample of the track below:
“Delivering The Black” will be available in regular cd edition, deluxe edition with 2 bonus tracks and – in cooperation with Soulfood Music – vinyl edition and DVD and limited edition (666 copies only!) of a Super-de-luxe version including a metallic eagle!
“Delivering The Black” Track Listing Includes:
Track Listing: King For a Day; Rebel Faction; When Death Comes Knocking; Alive & On Fire; Delivering the Black; Road to Asylum; One Night In December; Never Pray for Justice; Born with a Broken Heart; Innocent Man (*); Inseminoid; Man Without Shadow (*);When Death Comes Knocking (Single Edit) (*)
(*) Only available on Deluxe edition

Fuzz rockers KYLESA will soon be back in Europe! Still touring in support of this year’s new album Ultraviolet, the American gang will hit the road on January 10th, 2014 and will travel through Europe for a month.
EASTERN SPELL – Underground Doom Metal has raised its calamitous head in Southern Maine. An underground Doom Metal sound that when played at maximum volume, the vibrations are equated to a one ton sledgehammer, as it’s being struck down upon a bolstered granite ledge; crippling and destroying all other sounds around it for miles. EASTERN SPELL is this underground Doom Metal troupe that makes such sonic Sludge enormity, as they, along with their new single, Entraced, are:
Stone’s METAL Pick Of The Day!
At 11:10 long, Entraced is a Doom Metal epic, one that is capable of registering an impressive reading on the Richter magnitude scale. Seriously, no shit. This Doomed offering from EASTERN SPELL is an apocalyptic death march to a bottomless pit of hellfire; an evil hole of death that echoes the tormented souls of bubble-gum Pop fans, the sorry ones who’ve been eliminated from existence.

Currently, Orianthi is on tour with the iconic Alice Cooper. The latest issue of Guitar Interactive Magazine has featured Orianthi as their cover story. Metal be thy name.

Excerpt from Guitar Interactive magazine:
Debuting with Santana at 18, performing with Steve Vai, Michael Jackson, Prince and Alice Cooper, playing Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival, having her own signature PRS model – Australia’s Orianthi has achieved a great deal in a relatively short space of time.
JESSE JAMES DUPREE – That’s it above! That’s my Jesse James Dupree FootFetish autographed CD! His autograph is the one in the middle, with red sharpie ink. Isn’t it really cool or what? Back in 2000, the legendary JesseJames Dupree (of Jackyl fame & Full Throttle Saloon reality series) saw his first solo album released with Foot Fetish. To the best of my Metal knowledge, the other (solo) album from Jesse James Dupree is: Jesse James Dupree & Dixie Inc – Rev It Up And Go-Go (from 2008).
I luckily discovered and purchased this really cool CD back in the early Spring of this year, at a kick ass (used CD, game/movie video) store called Buyback$ Entertainment. Buyback$ is located in 10 different states, with Ohio being one of them. Lucky Stone!! My nearest Buyback$ is located in Miamisburg, Ohio. There are many of these stores scattered about Ohio too.
What did you pay for this really cool autographed Jesse James Dupree CD, Stone? Try… $10 (U.S.). $10!!! That’s a Metal steal of a deal! Hooray for Stone! Metal be thy name!
I remember semi-skipping to my car after I left Buyback$ with this CD gem in hand! Heck, the dude that cashed me out looked at the autographed liner notes, then looked at me straight in the face and said: “you know, the CD liner notes cover is autographed by Jesse James Dupree and the band?” I replied, with a touch of Metal victory in my voice: “yes, I know, dude.” The Buyback$ dude and I then carried on about how much we both really dig Jackyl and Jesse James Dupree. Good times at the Buyback$ checkout for sure.
Here’s what the back cover of Foot Fetish looks like! I guess y’all can read the (sideways) track listing on it!
Now, I do believe that this Jesse James Dupree autograph is the real deal. Why the hell would someone want to forge it? I also checked several other Jesse James Dupree autographs that are online and to my Metal eyes it’s a… match! I am believing that the other 2 autographs on this CD are the band’s guitarist John Hayes and bassist Roman Glick. Hot damn! As Kool And The Gang would sing: “Get Down Tonight!”
As for how much this Foot Fetish CD Rocks, well, it sure as hell… ROCKS! Trust my Metal judgement! Jesse James Dupree is in fine form on his solo debut here! In all honesty, this CD isn’t gonna give you the thunder-slap-to-the-face Hard Rock that Jackyl does, however, any Jackyl fan should dig the living crap out of Foot Fetish. Hell and yeah.
Y’all never know what you’re gonna find, when y’all go out hunting for Rock ‘N Roll and Metal treasures! Whoa. Thank you for reading about my really cool Jesse James Dupree Autographed CD! Now… get out there hunting and uncover a Rock ‘N Roll and/or Metal gem too! Metal be thy name.
Here’s the artwork of the new Primal Fear single! “When Death Comes Knocking” will be released by Frontiers Records on Dec. 03 as the first single/video of the forthcoming Primal Fear album “Delivering The Black”!

Top-tier Stoner/Doom Metal band WEED IS WEED has signed a world-wide deal with Ripple Music for the release of their full-length album, Blunt Force Trauma.
Years of seismic rumbling have led way to the tectonic formation that is WEED IS WEED. Two legendary masters of Maryland Doom, Dave “Sherm” Sherman and Gary Isom, come with a stoner/doom metal pedigree second to none. Sherm and Gary have been the creative catalysts in such genre defining bands as Pentagram, Earthride, and Spirit Caravan, and now they’re set to launch their newest, blazing heavy rock venture.
Having assembled their most blazing line-up ever, this group of musicians have crafted the perfect sound track for red-eyed blazers the world over – Blunt Force Trauma. Blitzed out, stoned heaviness is the order as this collection of tales of reefer madness and alligator fights is slated to be released early 2014 by the ever impressive Ripple Music.
That’s right folks… People are about to take notice.
Sherm is completely shredding the vocals, undoubtedly turning in his best performance to date, as he is more than ably backed by the rip and tear of the triple (3!) guitar attack courtesy of Gary on slide & lead guitar teamed up with Jason Fisher and Rob Portillo’s riffing and rolling. Match that with the full on rhythmic assault of Darren Waters on bass, and the single moniker’d Cougin on drums, and this band is ready to pummel the unsuspecting ear drums of those about to burn!
With the ink just dry on their contract with Ripple Music, it is being announced that WEED IS WEED has also signed on with 313 INC Artist Management to help further their reach and plan their underground takeover.
Watch for some pre-release touring to be announced soon.
It’s no doubt that the riffs are gonna be huge, the vocals are gonna be gritty and the low-end will rumble that PBR floating in your stomach. Weed Is Weed is taking over… and it’s going to be a smoky green revolution.
Check out some sneak peeks of the upcoming release, Blunt Force Trauma (Ripple Music) now at www.reverbnation.com/WeedIsWeed.
MOTION DEVICE – I was first introduced to Bolton, Ontario, Canada’s MotionDevice via twitter earlier this year. We’ll tweet back and forth, like any twitter friends do; only I consider Motion Device more than just twitter buddies. I look upon Motion Device as an inspiration and a burning flame of sincerity, maturity and confidence that I cannot resist embracing from such a devoted and talented young band. The allegiance to Heavy Metal’s pioneers that Motion Device is influenced by, through their songs, makes me very proud.
Lead vocalist Sara Menoudakis is going on 12 years of age and she sings with such a determined and confident manner; that it’s all very impressive to hear. Amazing. Sara’s 15-year-old sister (6 string bassist & keyboardist) Andrea Menoudakis is nothing short of inspirational in her own right; Andrea lives each day of her life with a seizure disorder known as epilepsy, (in the form of absence seizures). Andrea’s musical talents would never reveal this, until it was made known by her and the band. I absolutely love the piano intro and outro that Andrea plays on their cover of Heaven And Hell; it’s a beautiful added touch to such an iconic song.
Motion Device is rounded out by Sara and Andrea’s 13-year-old brother (drummer) David Menoudakis, 19-year-old cousin (electric & acoustic guitarist) Josh Marrocco and 19-year-old family friend (guitarist & bassist) Alex Defrancesco. I honestly see an incredible future for these young and clever musicians. The Metal sky is the limit for Motion Device and I will be cheering heavily for them, as they continue forward on their musical journey. Metal be thy name.
Motion Device, along with their new cover song of Black Sabbath’s Heaven And Hell is:
Stone’s METAL Pick Of The Day!
Forever In Our METAL Hearts & Souls, Ronnie James Dio.
Sara Menoudakis – Lead Singer
David Menoudakis – Drummer
Andrea Menoudakis – Keyboards & Bass
Josh Marrocco – Electric & Acoustic Guitar
Alex Defrancesco – Guitar & Bass
Black Sabbath’s Heaven And Hell was originally released back in 1980, via Warner Bros. Records.
