MASS PUNISHMENT – Releases New Single “God Less America”

Both lyrically and musically MASS PUNISHMENT‘s songs are written about current events, and societies around the world being divided, conquered and destroyed. They explore the need to unite people and find peace through understanding and compromise or the absolute destruction of us all. The fierce new single, “God Less America”, will be released on July 6th, 2023.

“The song was inspired by the nightmare of chaos and division that has stricken the US to the core. The lockdowns, protests and riots along economic collapse and poor leadership to the top of a corrupt government that has brought us to the brink of civil war.”

The metalcore outfit unleash a fury of driving rhythms, relentless thrashing percussion and commanding vocals in “God Less America”. Israeli Metalcore Outfit CANINE To Release New Single “Mad For The Dead”

Israeli metalcore warriors CANINE will be releasing their latest single, “Mad For The Dead”, on June 21, 2023. This is the third of many planned singles, leading up to their second full-length, Perception, due out early 2024.

The band comments on the single: “‘Mad For The Dead’ is our take on the inability to let go of a loved one, taking heavy inspiration from Stephen King’s “Pet Sematary”. If you had the power to revive that loved one, not knowing the ramifications of your actions. Would you?”

Since forming in 2009 in Modiin, Israel, CANINE have been making a name for themselves by defying convention, creating their own distinct sound and never settling for anything that was just run of the mill or ordinary. Rather, the band have stretched the boundaries of their sound, through the trials of line-up changes and military service in the IDF. CANINE has established themselves as a powerhouse of the metalcore scene, while incorporating a healthy dose of groove metal, nu-metal and post-hardcore into their signature sound.

In November 2017, CANINE released their debut The Uprising and immediately set out on tour throughout Israel. 2019 marked a new beginning for the band as a four piece, touring Russia with THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER.

As CANINE breaks new ground and forges ahead in their career, they will do so with a sense of determination and defiance. Throughout 2023, the band will explore themes of addiction, depression, the weaponized power of religion, but mostly chasing your dreams no matter the circumstances, trusting in your friends and loved ones and never backing down.

After 4 years of intense work in the studio, experimenting with different production methods and recording techniques, as well as many personal hurdles, Perception was born and will be released in 2024 marking a new page in the band’s career, both sonically and aesthetically.

Within this week marking the anniversary of the horrific events that occurred in the U.S.A. on September 11th, 2001, I will be featuring songs of hope, love, inspiration, positive vibes and goodwill towards man. These songs will be pulled from the Hard Rock and Metal genres too. Hopefully, an attack like that will never happen again upon any country.

There currently is way too much conflict and suffering happening in the world today; our life on Earth is too short for such carnage and despair. War is not the answer and I cherish life, family, music and of course… Metal Buddies. Metal be thy name.

‘Heartfelt, passionate and heavy’ is how Metalcore six-piece, Her Dying Regret describe their new EP ‘Legacy’ which will be self-released this September 19th.

Following up from their debut EP ‘The Siren’ [2012] which was a dramatic introduction to the Reading based band, ‘Legacy’, recorded at Avenue Studios, Camberley with producer Daniel Kerr shows a new side to the band and the direction they want to go in musically following the release of the first EP. “We want that to be a distant memory and for ‘Legacy’ to be what we’re remembered for”, says guitarist Craig Mayor.

“On ‘Legacy’ the lyrical content and vocal style is very different as we have two vocalists providing a new dynamic that allows us to be more creative and versatile, we’ve also taken some elements out of different sub genres of Metal to fuse it with our own sound to create something different.”

The hourglass inspired artwork designed by Abyss Art’s Vincent Bolar is an important addition to the feel of ‘Legacy’ furthers Craig. “There has a lot of emphasis on time and a few songs on our EP have the message of making the most of the time you have, the hourglass represents lifespan, the EP almost has a seize the day kind of theme to it.”

HATE SQUAD: Sixth Album Set For North American Release On Massacre Records

Having won over audiences across Europe via major Metal/Hardcore tours and massive festival appearances since their 1993 inception, German Metalcore heavyweights HATE SQUAD will drop their newest full-length, Katharsis, onto North American audiences via Massacre Records this January 17th.

The Hannover-based quartet will kick off the new year with their sixth LP to date, surging with nearly an hour of the band’s pummeling blend of death metal and hardcore. Recorded and mixed by Ralf Müller at Rape of Harmonies Studios, produced by Müller and HATE SQUAD, and mastered by Olman Viper at Hertzwerk (Hamburg), the album clearly makes the listener aware that they are a force to be reckoned with in the new year, and once again prove why HATE SQUAD remain one of Germany’s leading Metalcore exports.

IMORA – Check out below the new single If The Shoe Fits from IMORA, a Metalcore / Post Hardcore band from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. This song is from the forthcoming EP from IMORA: Happily Neverafter via Ship Out Recordings.

The balance of both vocals that rage and croon are done with impressiveness on this song. Combining the heavy and melodic comes across very credible with IMORA on If The Shoe Fits. IMORA already has shared the stage with: Chiodos, Evergreen Terrace, Stick To Your Guns and Asking Alexandria, to name a few. This band sounds like a toughened and talented unit ready for the next big step and might very well have to be reckoned with in 2012 and beyond.

If you dig If The Shoe Fits after listening to it a few times, then my Metal advice is buy this new EP from IMORA – Happily Neverafter. This EP will be available on iTunes starting January 10th, 2012.

Bastardized Recordings signs PURIFICATION

Created by Rebel Monster Inc., the app will keep fans up to date on everything UNEARTH including news, tour info, bios, new merch and more! UNEARTH – Pit-churning, Melodic Metal pioneers, UNEARTH, are currently readying to unveil Darkness In The Light, their fifth full-length in a discography that’s placed the band among the most prolific and plainly ravaging modern metal acts to come out of the U.S. Set for North American release on July 5 via Metal Blade Records, the 11-track long player — their most conceptually personal offering to date — was recorded at Zing Studios in Westfield, Massachusetts with producer (and Killswitch Engage guitarist) Adam Dutkiewicz and mixed at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, Trivium, et al). Sitting in on drums during the recording was Justin Foley of Killswitch Engage/Blood Has Been Shed.

Commented UNEARTH vocalist Trevor Phipps of the band’s latest output: “Darkness In The Light is without a doubt some of the heaviest, most dynamic and memorable tunes we’ve ever written. The disc is littered with the shred ‘n’ stomp-filled songs our fans would expect from us, as well as some added vocal hooks, guitar melodies, guitar solos and some different paths taken in style and structure. EGYPT CENTRAL – White Rabbit: Releases May 17th, 2011! Exclusive Live Concert Photos From 2011 Tour!

EGYPT CENTRAL  – Memphis Tennessee’s Alternative Metal/Hard Rock foursome of Egypt Central will be releasing their ultra-anticipated sophomore album, White Rabbit, on May 17th, 2011, via Fat Lady Music. As a follow-up to their successful self-titled debut album, White Rabbit has 12 new songs for fans to get revved up for!

Back on March 19, 2011, I had the opportunity to check out Egypt Central perform live at The Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Egypt Central opened for Modern/Alt Rock legends COLD on the: A Tour Of The American Dream, with Oceans Divide and Kopek also lending support . Local favorites and rising Hard Rockers Maddam Ink. capped off the evening of Heavy Music.

With the talented eye and lens of Metal Odyssey’s staff photographer Tom Coderre, these very cool photos (below) were taken at that show. Egypt Central kicked some major Rockin’ ass that night. ‘Nuff said. This is a band that took ownership of the stage and had their fans psyched-out beyond belief.
