SAMOTHRACE – Forced To Withdraw From East Coast Tour

Posted in doom metal, Heavy Metal, heavy metal news, metal music, Music, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , on August 31, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

Seattle Doom quartet SAMOTHRACE have just issued a statement on their unfortunate but necessary withdrawal from the pending East Coast tour with Pallbearer and Royal Thunder, set to embark in just one week:

“Samothrace is very sorry to announce that we will have to cancel our part on the upcoming tour with Pallbearer and Royal Thunder due to an immediate illness in the family of a band member. The most important thing right now is family. We are stoked to have had the opportunity to do the tour and will be planning to make our way out east in the near future. We appreciate the understanding.”

SAMOTHRACE just wrapped up a five-city West Coast tour last week in support of their acclaimed sophomore LP Reverence To Stone, released via 20 Buck Spin at the end of July. The album was recorded at Soundhouse Studios in Seattle with producer Brandon Fitzsimmons (ex-Wormwood) and mastered at Earhammer by Greg Wilkinson (Brainoil, Graves At Sea).

Reverence To Stone is still streaming in its entirety via PITCHFORK:
http://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/13910-samothrace-reverence-to-stone/

“…Samothrace position themselves on a weird axis between Sabbathian doom worship and psychedelic freak out sludge (á la Cough or Rwake), along with an Isis-esque rhythmic complexity and molten tempo. 8/10” – Decibel

“…the  second full-length from Seattle quartet Samothrace for 20 Buck Spin comprises only two tracks, but they’re diverse and dynamic enough to prove that the breadth of doom is wider than a stylistic rut.” – Pitchfork

COVEN 13 – To Perform At Hammer Of Doom Festival 2012

Posted in doom metal, Heavy Metal, heavy metal festivals, metal music, Music, rock festivals, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , , on August 7, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

Legendary U.S. Doom act COVEN (also known as COVEN 13) has been confirmed to appear at Germany’s Hammer of Doom Festival on November 10, 2012 at Posthalle in Würzburg. The festival begins on November 9th for Epic Night at which ROSS THE BOSS will headline. COVEN will join PENTAGRAM, THE SKULL, SOLSTICE and others in performing the next day, appropriately called Doomsday!

Visit Hammer Of Doom Festival for more information on the fest.

Shadow Kingdom Records reissued COVEN’s legendary 1987 album Worship New Gods on July 31st of this year. This reissue marks the first official release of Worship New Gods on CD and is available at www.shadowkingdomrecords.com.

“It’s impossible to make albums that sound like this anymore, and for that we’re thankful that Shadow Kingdom are bringing back bands that sound live Coven.” Decibel

“Coven’s Worship New Gods reveals the best of the underbelly of American underground heavy metal from the Eighties. Easily recommended.” – Dangerdog

“Its antiquity will only serve in its favor, as it conjures forth a genuine nostalgia for the 80s efforts of bands like Cirith Ungol, Pentagram, Manilla Road and St. Vitus. Sword and sorcery spent in harmonious, atmospheric flesh with plenty of variation to keep the listener hooked as if he/she were smoking a bone while deeply immersed in a Fritz Leiber or Michael Moorcock story.” – From the Dust Returned

“There’s really no reason to not take the time out and hear this underground gem you probably never even knew existed.” – Apoch’s Metal Review

“Worship New Gods” is an enjoyable album of contrasts, melodic soft interludes between occult like slabs of heaviness, but at all times fresh (For the time) and interesting. Happy 25th birthday!” Destructive Music

ORCHID – Signs With Nuclear Blast

Posted in doom metal, doom rock, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Music, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , , , on July 29, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

Nuclear Blast is extremely proud to announce the worldwide signing of San Francisco based doom rockers ORCHID!

Commented the band: “After many months of talking to different labels about our future, we’re very excited to announce that we’ve decided to join forces with Nuclear Blast. We’ve been working on new material on and off for the last year and we’re feeling really good about the new songs. It seems like they’re a continuation in the same tradition of the material on our first full length, Capricorn, but also, show some new sides of our music that should surprise everyone and show that ORCHID isn’t a band that just wants to keep making the same album over and over. We’re really excited for everyone to hear it!”

Commented Nuclear Blast head of A&R, Andy Siry: “Ever since we first heard of ORCHID and witnessed their perfect way of bringing back the glorious days of Rock Music, we knew we had to work with this amazing band. After meeting them on their most recent European tour we literally were blown away by their stunningly intense performance! So here we are, proud as f*ck, welcoming one of the most hopefully and authentic bands to the Nuclear Blast family. Every single one at the label loves ORCHID and so will you! CHECK THEM OUT!”

Since their inception back in 2006, the band featuring well-known tattoo artist Theo Mindell (http://www.spidermurphys.com ) on vocals has achieved massive global awareness with their stunning debut releases Through The Devil’s Doorway (EP, 2009) and Capricorn (Full-length, 2011).

The video clip for the title track of the album, a nice video interview with the band by Rock Hard Germanys very own Goetz Kuehnemund as well as some more ORCHID tunes can be streamed at the bands Facebook profile through the “Listen”/”Videos” buttons: http://www.facebook.com/orchidsf

SKELETAL SPECTRE – Doom-Death Befoulers Join Pulverised Records; Preview Track Available

Posted in Death Metal, doom metal, Heavy Metal, heavy metal albums, metal music, Music, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , , on July 25, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

Pulverised Records are pleased to welcome American/Swedish Doom-Death befoulers SKELETAL SPECTRE to their ever-expanding roster of repugnance!

Fronted by Vanessa Nocera (Wooden Stake, Scaremaker, etc.), SKELETAL SPECTRE are a ghastly hybrid of demonacy influenced by the spirits of the undead and midnight graveyard sacrifices. The band released two full-length offerings under the Razorback Records banner and are set to unleash their third studio endeavor, Voodoo Dawn — a malicious riffscape of sonic extremity — upon unsuspecting ears later this year.

Comments Nocera of the signing: “We are proud and honored to be on Pulverised Records’ roster! Definitely a label that I find to be one of the coolest around! We put a great deal of hard work into this album so that it would stand out from anything we’ve ever done. I think it is a testament to the band’s future, and we are looking to play live, especially in Europe so watch out. We’re coming!

Adds Pulverised Records A&R Manager Calvin Chiang: “The moment we heard the beginning riff off the first track from Voodoo Dawn, it completely blew us away and somehow we already knew something filthy was brewing from within. There’s a perfect balance of those trademark Swede-eerie melodies and mammoth riffs that any sludge/doom maniac would approve of. It’s always very satisfying to discover a great hidden gem in this business, and we are definitely proud to say that SKELETAL SPECTRE is one of those gems. Keep your eyes and ears peeled; the voodoo curse shall rear its ugly head soon!”

Check out teaser track “Bone Dust” from Voodoo Dawn at THIS LOCATION. Further details, including art work and release date, will be revealed in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

WITCHCRAFT – “LEGEND” Cover Art Revealed

Posted in doom metal, Heavy Metal, heavy metal albums, heavy metal news, metal music, Music, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , on July 22, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

Swedish Doom Metal icons WITCHCRAFT have revealed the cover art of the band’s forthcoming album, Legend, which marks the bands first after a long 5 year hiatus.

Commented singer/mainman Magnus Pelander: “A friend of mine had an idea about a cover for Legend. I developed the idea and gave it back to my friend who then passed it on to another friend who happened to be a designer. The designer then pushed it in a new direction. The result is already legendary.“

Bass player Ola Henriksson adds: “The album cover is meant to reflect the music and I think it does that with its heavy, dark & clean design.“

Legend will be released September 21 (Europe) and September 25, 2012 (North America) via Nuclear Blast.

Shadow Kingdom Records is pleased to announce the July 31st reissue of COVEN’s legendary 1987 album Worship New Gods. COVEN, from Detroit, MI, is not the Jinx Dawson COVEN that is somewhat known in the underground Metal world. This COVEN, who was actually approached by Jinx to change their name to COVEN 13, is a unique 80’s Heavy Metal band that unleash a rare blend of CANDLEMASS / SABBATH Doomy Heavy Metal with a MERCYFUL FATE / CELTIC FROST black metal charm to it.

The album is quite moody and may take a little while to sink in, but once it clicks, there’s nothing quite like it. This is one of the rarest US Metal albums to ever exist because it was self released back in 1987 on VINYL only. This is the first official release of it on CD with a lot of amazing band photos.

Worship New Gods Cover Art & Track Listing:

1. Riddle Of Steel

2. Wicked Day

3. Ruler

4. Kiss Me With Blood

5. Burial Ground

6. General’s Eye

7. Jail House

8. Threshold Of The New

9. Loki

“Lament Code”, the new video from Las Vegas based Traditional/Epic Doomsters DEMON LUNG can be seen below. The song comes off DEMON LUNG’s debut EP, Pareidolia, which was released March 20th.

The video was directed by Dustin Mills, the mastermind behind THE PUPPET MONSTER MASSACRE, the low-budget 80’s style horror comedy with an all puppet cast.

“Lament Code” By DEMON LUNG

“Pareidolia” is a 22-minute blend of traditional and epic Doom Metal, rife with horror imagery and lyrics and influenced by the likes of BLACK SABBATH, CANDLEMASS, and vocalist Shanda Fredrick’s worship of COVEN’s Jinx Dawson. Physical copies are available for purchase for $5 through the band’s website and digitally for $4 via Bandcamp. Hex Records will soon be issuing a limited cassette release of Pareidolia.

Pareidolia – Track Listing:

Lament Code

Sour Ground

Forming only two short years ago, DEMON LUNG hit the ground running and demoed over 20 songs, choosing four of the best for inclusion on Pareidolia. Swedish Doomsters The Gardnerz have unveiled the track list and artwork, which comes courtesy of Daniel “Devilish” Johnsson, for their recently completed EP, entitled It All Fades.  Guitarist Wilhelm Lindh comments on the EP, which is a follow-up to the band’s debut, The System of Nature. “This time around the songs are a bit slower and darker than on The System Of Nature, we tried to continue on the path we have chosen. We have found our niche and have no reason to stray, so if you liked our first release you will like this. This time it was a bit more of a group effort and I think that made the songs stronger.”

SONS OF TONATIUH – Premiere New Track Via Ad Hoc; New Album “Parade Of Sorrow” Out Now!

Posted in doom metal, Heavy Metal, heavy metal news, metal music, Music, rock music, rock music news, sludge metal with tags , , , , , , , on June 17, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

Beckoning The End Tour Starts This Week

Atlanta-based trio SONS OF TONATIUH released their second LP, Parade Of Sorrow, via Hydro-Phonic Records last week, the album booming with nearly forty minutes of new material via ten lumbering sludge-bred numbers. Memorializing its release, today online portal Ad Hoc is hosting a stream of the massive seven-and-a-half minute album closer “Fallout,” AT THIS LOCATION.

The follow-up to their 2010 self-titled LP, Parade Of Sorrow which Creative Loafing fondly compared to “a plague of locusts swarming for the attack,” offers an even filthier, more dirge-ridden Southern-fried SONS OF TONATIUH than ever, making it a must-have for fans of Eyehategod, Buzzov*en, Floor and the like. The album was recorded in Athens, Georgia by Kyle Spence of Harvey Milk and features artwork by Chris Parry.

The band are preparing to launch their thirteen-date Beckoning The End Tour 2012  in support of the new album late this week.

“Their songs may be like sinking in quicksand, but they evoke panicked thrashing rather than resigned, churning misery.” – Exclaim

“…ten tracks of viscous, hard-livin’ Southern doom.” – Ad Hoc

PTAHIL – Fan Bites Head Off Decomposed Rodent; Live Video Footage Posted

Posted in Black Metal, doom metal, Extreme Metal, Heavy Metal, heavy metal news, Music, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , , on June 16, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

Regularly adorning the stage with lamb bones and decaying rats, Indiana Black Metal miscreants PTAHIL are known for their moody, violent and lawless exercises in live musical mayhem. At a recent ceremony at The Brass Rail in Fort Wayne, their onstage chaos led one fan to bite the head of a decomposed rodent.

Comments PTAHIL drummer, Mhaghnuis: “It is good to see that when a human being is bombarded with specific emotions, smells and sounds that they can commit actions that are normally unthinkable to them. We are proud that our music and presence helped this person do something unthinkable to any current standard of social behavior.”

Added concert attendee/rat nibbler Zac Bau: “I felt it necessary to step outside the rest of the fans behavior and show that it only takes one person to break the monotony of fist-pumping metal fans. Everybody can mosh; everybody can throw the horns but the true metal fan will eat things that the spirit of the moment moves them to no matter the rest of the world’s thoughts on it.”

View footage from the show at THIS LOCATION.

PTAHIL recently completed the follow-up to For His Satanic Majesty’s Glory. Titled The Almighty Propagator Of Doom And Despair, their newest assault Satanic Doom/Punk/Black Metal is slated for release on December 21, 2012 through Wraith Productions and was written and recorded in acknowledgement to the prison of life and the pursuit of true freedom. Further info to be revealed in the coming weeks.

EARTHEN GRAVE – Unique Doom Sextet Release Debut Full-Length

Posted in doom metal, doom metal albums, Heavy Metal, heavy metal news, metal music, Music, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , , on June 15, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

Tour Dates Include Days of The Doomed & Stoner Hands of Doom

Distinctive Chicago-based Doom collective EARTHEN GRAVE have confirmed a plethora of Summer tour dates throughout the country in support of their electrifying self-titled debut album.

Boasting a powerful, dynamic style of plodding Doom Metal surging with classic Heavy Metal vigor, the six members of the band coalesce their Metal aptitude into one entity with EARTHEN GRAVE. Founded in 2008 by guitarist Jason Muxlow (The Living Fields, Wintering) and drummer Scott Davidson (ex-Stonehenge, owner of Rebel Radio), the duo recruited bassist Ron Holzner (formerly of Trouble, Debris Inc., Place of Skulls, etc.), vocalist Mark Weiner (Trifog), guitarist Tony Spillman (Spillage), and renowned classical violinist Rachel Barton Pine on extended range electric flying V violin.

A year after the creation of EARTHEN GRAVE, this union of talented musicians released their first recordings as the five-song Dismal Times demo, receiving immediate praise from underground Metal and Stoner Rock media outlets and fans alike. The next few years saw the band playing intimate club shows as well as providing support for international touring acts on stages around Chicago and regionally throughout the Midwest and East Coast. This has sharpened each member’s skills within the unit and had defined their roles more prominently, fueling the already intoxicating chemistry of the band to dramatic new levels.

In late April of this year, EARTHEN GRAVE entered the studio to create their mammoth first album, simply entitled Earthen Grave. Produced by Ron Holzner, and released on CD and via digital download via his own indie label Claude & Elmo Music, this layered opus showcases even more range and diversity to the band’s commanding material, clocking in with over an hour of epic music!

Stream the entire album via the band’s BANDCAMP PAGE.

This weekend EARTHEN GRAVE will take part in Days of the Doomed II Festival in Cudahy, Wisconsin, joining Solace, Blood Farmers, Earthride, Revelation, Argus and many others over the two-day event. More shows are booked throughout Chicago and abroad over the coming weeks and later in the Summer they’ll play Brooklyn on their way to take part in Stoner Hands of Doom XII Fest on September 1st. The annual four-day all-ages gathering also listing RoadSaw, Ichabod, Raw Radar War, Pilgrim, Earthride, Revelation, Pale Divine, Iron Man, Elder, War Injun and tons more at this year’s installment.

ALARIC / ATRIARCH Split LP – A Double Dose Of Spine-Chilling Heaviness You Can’t Overlook

Posted in Extreme Metal, extreme music, Heavy Metal, heavy metal albums, heavy metal news, metal music, Music, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , on May 30, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

ALARIC/ATRIARCH – This split LP of Alaric/Atriarch was released on May 15th, 2012, via 20 Buck Spin. This album serves as a Metal appetizer for fans of both bands; while new studio albums from Alaric/Atriarch are being recorded for release later in 2012. This split LP has been my introduction to both bands, here are my Metal thoughts:

Oakland California’s Alaric is an Anarcho Death Rock experience to hear. They blend Doom and Stoner vibes with an endless supply of thumping and haunting beats. Picture the scene: Hard Rock with lot’s of foreboding swirling around. Alaric isn’t bashful about being creative with their overall sound, lending guitar parts and vocals that would make perfect sense on many 80’s New Wave songs. Don’t be fooled however, cause these same guitar parts and vocals sound exceptionally terrific and gives this band a unique identity on Memory Assault, So Far Down and Weep.

A heavy band that considers melodies and being memorable is Alaric. The overall feel and vibe I walk away with, after listening to these three Alaric songs, is that this band took the “college Alternative” sound from the late 80’s and early nineties and turned it into a melancholy heaviness of their own; a Death Rockin’ style of heaviness that makes good damn sense to my ears. Alaric has sold me on their style of Rock and I will be listening to them a great deal more now.

Portland Oregon’s Atriarch is a Blackened Death/Doom band which spells: Delectable Metal. A cool listen are both songs (Oblivion, Offerings) and they serve up what’s to be expected from a band of this genre. Oblivion didn”t play out as extreme as I had anticipated and I still appreciated it nonetheless. The vocals on Oblivion include an intermittent spoken word which easily adds style points to the creep-out meter.

Offerings begins with an eerie and distant-like guitar, shredding about its sonic wall of inviting blackness, an intro that I gleefully welcomed with open ears. Offerings builds itself up to an Extreme tempo with matching vocals; a nightmarish sounding song and that is a sincere Metal compliment to this band. Metal be thy name.

The intense artistic talent of Bryan Proteau created the album cover artwork.

NOVEMBERS DOOM’s Paul Kuhr and Mike Feldman Launch CHARRED OWEN Vinyl Label

Posted in Death Metal, doom metal, Heavy Metal, heavy metal albums, heavy metal news, metal music, Music, rock music, rock music news, vinyl albums with tags , , , , , , , on May 21, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

Paul Kuhr and Mike Feldman of U.S. Death/Doom pioneers NOVEMBERS DOOM have officially launched CHARRED OWEN, a record label catering to vinyl enthusiasts and collectors. Below is a statement from Paul about the label.

Having a mutual love for what is collectable and a vinyl format now considered classic, Novembers Doom members Paul Kuhr and Mike Feldman have brought to life a newly formed record label. CHARRED OWEN was created out of nostalgia and a desire to see our own work released on a timeless format, vinyl. Not only is it collectable, but no other format has even been able to capture the full beauty of cover art, along with a tonal warmth only vinyl could bring.

We will start with a collaboration with The End Records to release select Novembers Doom titles, starting with “APHOTIC” available June 19th,  but we won’t stop there. Plans for other releases in the future are already in the works, with other bands in consideration.

As musicians in the Metal industry and fans of the same genre, our goal with CHARRED OWEN is to create collectable quality vinyl, from talented bands. We have many plans for the future, and we’re looking forward to seeing it all come to life.

For more information and pre-order information please visit: CHARRED OWEN

DEMON LUNG – Doom Metal Debut EP Pareidolia Is A Masterful Metal Listen

Posted in doom metal, Heavy Metal, heavy metal news, metal music, Music, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , on April 17, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

DEMON LUNG – From Las Vegas, Nevada, arrives DEMON LUNG. Yes, this Doom Metal band have arrived with their self-released debut EP: PAREIDOLIA. Led by vocalist Shanda Frederick, her captivating tones of doomed despair combine seamlessly with the molasses thick riffs and trudging rhythm that Demon Lung executes. Demon Lung plays their Doom Metal as if they’ve been around since the mid 70’s. Yes, Demon Lung plays that tight and are that admirably grim around the edges.

The more I listen to this four song debut EP, the more I wish it was a full-length of ten or twelve more songs. Yes, Demon Lung has sucked me into their Doom lined tunnel of sound and I am not looking for any damn place to hide. I want in. Demon Lung hasn’t gone out and tried to reinvent the Doom Metal wheel on Pareidolia. Instead, this band plays with a spirit of Doom that summons up all things splendid about this genre’s past, bringing a fresh sound to the Doom Metal present.

Crunchy, Doom inspired guitar, a ground shaking rhythm section, horror laced lyrics and Shanda on vocals. This is a recipe for future success in the world of Doom and Metal as a whole. Whoa. After several listen throughs of Pareidolia, I’m thinking I’ve been taken away to the center of the Earth, where only I know about Demon Lung and only I can celebrate with them… the sacred sound of Traditional Doom Metal.

As I come to my Metal senses here… please understand… Demon Lung is highly, highly recommended to all my fellow Metal and Doom Metal brethren. Two words of advice for your next Metal album purchase: DEMON LUNG. Metal be thy name.

UFOMAMMUT ‘Oro: Opus Primum’ – A Multi-Sound, Metal Mind Quest

Posted in doom metal, drone metal, Heavy Metal, heavy metal news, metal music, Music, progressive metal, rock music, rock music news with tags , , , , , , , on March 12, 2012 by Metal Odyssey

UFOMAMMUT – Oro is the title for UFOMAMMUT’s latest work and encompasses ten (tracks) movements overall. To be released separately as two albums, the first is Oro: Opus Primum, which will be released April 17th, 2012, via Neurot Recordings. The second chapter of OroOpus Alter, will be released in September of 2012. This album’s press release states Both Oro chapters are to be interpreted as a “single track” (to make a long story short) due to the way in which the music was written and flows.

For anyone unfamiliar with UFOMAMMUT, this band can get quite deep with their album concepts. I will use this album’s press release quote to sum up what Oro is conveying conceptually. Believe me, I would never be aware of this album’s concept from just listening to the music itself. Who could? Here it is:

“As with all previous UFOMAMMUT albums, the concepts behind Oro are expansive and multi-faceted, mutating the Italian palindrome which translates to “gold” with the Latin translation of “I prey.” Oro explores the concept of knowledge and its power; the magical stream controlled by the human mind to gain control of every single particle of the World surrounding us. Oro is the alchemical process to transform the human fears into pure essence; into Gold”.

Here is my honest interpretation of Oro: Opus Primum, based on the music, Metal and sounds I’ve taken in. Please note, all five (songs) movements are instrumentals:

___________________________________

EMPIREUM opens Oro: Opus Primum and swirls its ambient vibrations of spacey progressiveness throughout my thoughts. It’s Pink Floyd meets a psychotic thriller soundtrack. While building up its thick temp, the Doom atmosphere picks up mid-way through EMPIREUM, without losing grip on its creepy sound scape. I can get really, really lost in this opening track and love every second of it. At nearly 14 minutes long, EMPIREUM ends with a subdued atmosphere of sound, bringing about a melancholy affect upon me which I easily embrace.

___________________________________

AUREUM – Opens with a more crunchy guitar sound and the Metal has arrived. The drum beats and bass lines are heavier and very distinct. With a copious backdrop of synthetic sounds, AUREUM flows along like strong river rapids, only these rapids are controlled with musical precision. The overall Metal wall of sound is worthy to bang your head to while throwing down some cold brews in the process. At 12:28 long, could this be Psychedelic Metal at it’s finest? It surely can be interpreted that way by me.

___________________________________

INFEARNATURAL – Begins with an epic-like feel with its off in the distance chorus. There is plenty of Metal stomp, with chunky Doom laden guitar that never ceases throughout. Synth layers are aplenty, with more unique sounds than my ears can grasp, even after multiple listen-throughs. There are remote-like spoken words that are both audible and inaudible. Overall, this is a multi-layered movement that I found captivating and its strong Metal personality wins the day. At 7:26 this is the shortest movement on this album.

___________________________________

MAGICKON – This is by far the “foreboding entry” amongst these five movements I’ve listened to on Oro: Opus Primum. I just get that overall dark and cavernous vibe from MAGICKON. Doom, Doom, Doom and Doom again. MAGICKON just throws that Doom hammer down and covers me over in its heavy Doom blanket of sound. MAGICKON plays out at 7:57 long.

___________________________________

MINDOMINE – The tempo and repetitions of MINDOMINE could be considered by some as Drone Metal. With Doom riffs and distant screams ever the continuum, this movement can produce some chills. It’s a fine-line trying to consider some of these distant screams as being nearly “tribal-like” chants. An eerie ending to this first chapter of Oro is MINDOMINE. Picture yourself floating in outer-space (thanks to the synths) while the skull melting sounds of Drone and Doom Metal encircle your senses. Clocking in at 9:18, that’s MINDOMINE.

___________________________________

Musically complex, while consistently maintaining a Metal feel and vibe throughout its totality of sound, Oro: Opus Primum has allowed me to open my own mind to its world of unique sounds. Richly textured and layered, there is no doubt, that with each synth sound, drum beat or note, it all opens the doors to a vast wealth of other audible vibrations. Weaving itself through the Doom, Drone, Progressive, Psychedelic and Ambient Metal genres, Oro: Opus Primum is both a listening experience and Metal mind quest.

UFOMAMMUT:

Poia – guitars and effect

Urlo – bass, vocals and synths

Vita – drums

Ciccio – soundlord

Lu – visuals
