Death Metal war machine TrenchRot are unleashing their debut Necronomic Warfare upon the world and none will be spared. With influences ranging from other war-themed bands like Asphyx and Bolt Thrower, to the vomitous vocals and epic, soaring lead work of Obituary’s Cause of Death, this is an old school Death Metal album that doesn’t feel self-conscious about being what it is.  It just crushes everything in its path, and leaves the bloodied listener staggering away… and grinning ear to ear.

Members are in other promising new bands, such as Crypt Sermon – whose first demo will see a cassette release from Dark Descent Records soon – and Infiltrator, and promise to soon be well-known names in the underground.

Necronomic Warfare is set for a February 18 release on Unspeakable Axe Records.

FALLEN FATE – Announce New Album ‘Into The Black’

North East England’s purveyors of modern metal FALLEN FATE have announced an upcoming full album release. After storming the UK in 2011 with ‘The Virus Has Spread’ the band is back, has regrouped and is ready to utterly waste with new release ‘Into the Black’.

Recorded in part in Stymphalian Productions in York with producer James Stephenson and finished in vocalist Lee Skinner’s home studio, ‘Into the Black’ retains the Fallen Fate’s signature punishing heaviness but it’s also apparent that the band has moved on musically since ‘The Virus Has Spread’.

Comments Lee Skinner, ‘Dark, Expressive and Heavy…The sound and feel of Fallen Fate has changed quite a bit since the release of ‘The Virus Has Spread’. The band has progressed and developed a more solid metal sound while maintaining a unique mix of speed and heaviness in the music.’

‘Based on a horror movie theme around a young girl called Vespa, the concept of ‘Into The Black’ plays a big part in how the album sounds and how it is visually portrayed through the artwork and upcoming videos. It contributed to the evolving sound of the band as we introduced more keyboards and experimental sounds into the mix, giving it a different dark feel and sound.’

Talking further about the concept of the album Skinner elaborates, ‘She [Vespa] chose a life without faith and over time became possessed by a demon. The demon slowly took over her body and ultimately lead her to kill herself and her family. The drive behind the concept is to empower the listener to decide whether she was possessed by the Devil, as she has no saviour in her life, or if she was possessed by God, punishing her for her lack of faith.’

The artwork designed by both Photographer Ian Cameron and Skinner through his own Black Venom Designs compliments the album’s running theme.

Supported by a release show in The Forum, Darlington, the album is set for release January 30th 2014.

Polish Death Metal legends VADER are currently working on the follow-up to their highly acclaimed 2011 album, “Welcome To The Morbid Reich”. The new album will be titled “TIBI ET IGNI” and is set to be released in spring 2014 via Nuclear Blast. Together with producers Wojtek and Slawek Wies³awski, the band has entered Hertz Studio in Bialystok (Poland).

“The next chapter, a new bible for all those hungry for extreme massacre and dark challenges is called: TIBI ET IGNI “For You (and only You) and Fire” – so we can translate from latin this pretty symbolic title. BARISHI – Vermont’s BARISHI have just released a self-titled Progressive Metal tour de force that belies conventional thought for a debut album. Heaviness, eclecticism, and inventive melody are just a few of the descriptors one could use to begin dissecting this dynamic package of passion and creativity. BARISHI is making their mark in the New England Metal scene and beyond. Formed in 2010 as an instrumental three-piece know as Atlatl, they began writing songs influenced by fusion and progressive music. Their style quickly started getting heavier and darker while retaining some progressive influence, thus forging their own style of Heavy Psychedelic Metal. In 2012 they found a wayward vocalist wandering the streets of Keene New Hampshire. Bringing him into the fold they found that his sound melded excellently with theirs. Thus, Barishi was born!

Earth shattering grooves combined with savage vocals completed the sound that could only be born in the verdant mountains of Southern Vermont. With their debut self-titled album on the way, Barishi is truly a force to be reckoned with.
