DORO To Release Best-Of Double Disc Next Month Via AFM Records

Legendary Queen of Metal, DORO PESCH, will release Under My Skin – A Fine Selection Of Doro Classics in North America via AFM Records next month. Set for release on August 14, 2012, the mammoth career-spanning retrospective — which already entered the German charts at #53 upon its first week of release overseas — includes more than 30 tracks spread across two CDs.

Compiled in close collaboration between AFM and DORO herself, the gorgeous package offers an abundance of DORO staples as well as rare B-side singles and hand-written liner notes. Under My Skin… is also available in a limited wooden fanbox edition (1000 copies; import only) which includes a two-CD digipak, flag, patch, bracelet, a postcard and a certificate of authenticity. SKELETAL SPECTRE – Doom-Death Befoulers Join Pulverised Records; Preview Track Available

Pulverised Records are pleased to welcome American/Swedish Doom-Death befoulers SKELETAL SPECTRE to their ever-expanding roster of repugnance!

Fronted by Vanessa Nocera (Wooden Stake, Scaremaker, etc.), SKELETAL SPECTRE are a ghastly hybrid of demonacy influenced by the spirits of the undead and midnight graveyard sacrifices. The band released two full-length offerings under the Razorback Records banner and are set to unleash their third studio endeavor, Voodoo Dawn — a malicious riffscape of sonic extremity — upon unsuspecting ears later this year.

Comments Nocera of the signing: “We are proud and honored to be on Pulverised Records’ roster! Definitely a label that I find to be one of the coolest around! We put a great deal of hard work into this album so that it would stand out from anything we’ve ever done. CORROSION OF CONFORMITY – To Kick Off Special Run With PRONG This Week!

Following up a triumphant stretch of West Coast dates earlier this Summer with Torche, Black Cobra and Gaza, this Wednesday, North Carolina crossover revolutionaries CORROSION OF CONFORMITY will kick off a four-date run with New York Metallers Prong. The short but epic run will commence in Huntington, West Virginiaand steamroll through Winston-Salem, Wilmington, and Savannah.The tour serves as a precursor to their Euro festival takeover this August (see full listing at THIS LOCATION)!

In addition, the band will appear on this year’s Hopscotch Music Fest. The three-day event is set to take place on September 6 – 8, 2012 on their home turf of Raleigh. The band will play alongside a throng of artists from all genres including Sunn O))), The Roots, Baroness, Yo La Tengo, The Jesus And Mary Chain and many more.

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY were also added to the colossal Barge To Hell lineup where 40 of Metal’s finest acts along with 2,000 headbangers from around the world take over a luxury cruise ship for a five-day/four-night trip to the Caribbean. Founded by three teenagers in 1982, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY began as an underground band and went on to transform heavy music, challenging boundaries and serving as what Decibel Magazine called “a crucial stylistic lynchpin in the bridge between metal and punk” that “irrevocably reshaped crossover’s sonic possibilities.” Thirty years and many changes later, COC’s original trio is back with a self-titled release for London-based independent Candlelight Records.

Released Stateside this past March Corrosion Of Conformity was recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles, produced by the band in cooperation with long-time collaborator John Custer and mixed by John Lousteau (Foo Fighters). FEAR FACTORY – Announce August Headlining Dates For The World Industrialist Tour 2012

Legendary Metal manipulators FEAR FACTORY are pleased to announce a U.S. headlining tour next month. Set to commence on August 1 in Fresno, California, the next segment of the The World Industrialist Tour 2012 will pummel its way across the country and includes a stop at this year’s Juggalo Gathering in Cave In Rock, Illinois alongside Soulfly, Static X, DMX, Onyx, and George Clinton among others. Additional dates will be announced in the coming days. Comments guitarist Dino Cazares: “We are really looking forward to getting back on tour to play classic FEAR FACTORY songs and new songs from The Industrialist!”

This will mark the FEAR FACTORY’s first official trek in support of The Industrialist, unleashed to North American fans June 5 via Candlelight Records. Bell since reuniting in 2009 after a seven-year split., The Industrialist debuted on Billboard’s Top 200 chart at position 38 and maintained the #1 spot on the CMJ charts for three consecutive weeks.

WITCHCRAFT – “LEGEND” Cover Art Revealed

Swedish Doom Metal icons WITCHCRAFT have revealed the cover art of the band’s forthcoming album, Legend, which marks the bands first after a long 5 year hiatus.

Commented singer/mainman Magnus Pelander: “A friend of mine had an idea about a cover for Legend. I developed the idea and gave it back to my friend who then passed it on to another friend who happened to be a designer. The designer then pushed it in a new direction. The result is already legendary.“

Bass player Ola Henriksson adds: “The album cover is meant to reflect the music and I think it does that with its heavy, dark & clean design.“

Legend will be released September 21 (Europe) and September 25, 2012 (North America) via Nuclear Blast.

WINDFAERER – EP From Iberian Black Metal Storytellers Streaming At Stereokiller

Solar, the brand new EP from Blackened Metalsmiths WINDFAERER, is now available. Far from simply a “tide-you-over” release between albums, the self-released EP bears an immense 35 minutes of material through six epic tales, and the best material to be released yet from this talented and original New Jersey-based outfit. Elements of contemporary Black Metal go head-on into Folk Metal territory, injecting copious amounts of violin and folk songwriting into an epic, battlestrewn environment.

This week Stereokiller, who stated in a killer 4.95/5 review of Solar “…as long as a few albums of this caliber come out every few years, I will be satisfied…”, are hosting a stream of the entire EP now RIGHT HERE.

Translating to “one who travels with the wind,” as in a vessel at sea, WINDFAERER began as a means of self-expression for guitarist/bassist/vocalist Michael Gonçalves, inspired by his Hispanic/Iberian heritage and fueled by his passion for Extreme Music. With WINDFAERER he focused his energies on creating a melodic, blasting and emotional entity and eventually recruited like-minded musicians in violinist Benjamin Karas and drummer JP Andrade.

THE FORSAKEN – Swedish Death Unit’s Fourth Album Nears North American Release

Landskrona, Sweden-based THE FORSAKEN are preparing to drop their fourth full-length assault Beyond Redemption in North America.

Beyond Redemption surges with forty minutes of the band’s modern black/thrash-infused death metal culminating here into some of the most devastating sequences from THE FORSAKEN to date. The album was recorded by the band themselves, and the final product mixed and mastered at the renowned Fascination Street Studios (Bloodbath, Opeth, Amon Amarth, Soilwork).

THE FORSAKEN formed in 1997, initially under the moniker of Septic Breed. Following several demos, lineup changes and the name change, the band signed with Century Media for the release of their 2001 debut album Manifest Of Hate, their 2002 follow-up Arts Of Desolation and 2003’s Traces Of The Past. The band parted ways with the label in 2009, and following another personnel shift, began the construction of their now pending fourth album Beyond Redemption, through new label home Masssacre Records.

Following its successful release in Europe in recent weeks, Beyond Redemption will be available to North American metallers on August 14th. View the audio teaser and more AT THIS LOCATION.

SCORNAGE – German Thrash Metal Hellions Sign To Massacre Records

We’re happy to announce that SCORNAGE will release their new album “ReaFEARance” via Massacre Records!

The band was formed in 1998 and all they wanted was to play and present hand-made, hard music. After 3 European tours supporting the Japanese chaos-core legends Terror Squad and King’s Evil in 2001, 2004 and 2007, SCORNAGE released their third long-player “Born To Murder The World” via Remedy Records in March 2009.

SCORNAGE are well-known for their incredible live presence that they have proven in countless shows, such as Kaltenbach Open Air, Metal Bash Open Air or on one of their support shows for Acts like Sodom, Hatesphere, One Man Army And The Undead Quartet and Legion Of The Damned.

SCORNAGE’s upcoming, fourth album was produced by Andy Classen at the Stage One Studio.

Wanna See Some Of My VENOM Stuff? It’s All Really Cool…

VENOM – Whoa. Check out (above) that cool front cover for my issue of Zero Tolerance. This is the December 2011/January 2012 issue – #44. Cronos, the legendary classic member, bassist and vocalist of Venom gives one hell of an interview in this issue. After reading this interview, I really admire the up-front nature of Cronos. He tells it like it is. Old school is Cronos and his band Venom is back like a pit viper!

This leads me to the most recent Venom release…

Fallen Angels. The 13th album overall from Venom, Fallen Angels was released back on November 28th, 2011, via Spinefarm Records / Universal. I actually won this CD you see above from a bet I made with Best Metal Buddy Scott Coverdale. What was the bet? It was a “straight-up” bet that my beloved New York Giants would defeat the hapless New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. My NY Giants won, 21 to 17. Thank you, Coverdale!

What an album Fallen Angels is. This is as rabidly potent a Venom lineup as there has ever been, (with no insult to the classic Venom lineup of Cronos, Mantas and Abaddon). No studio trickery. No bullshit. Just F’n old school Metal, the way it was meant to be played and heard… courtesy of Venom.

And now, I’ve saved the best for last…

How influential and pioneering is this Venom debut! Welcome To Hell was released back in 1981, via Neat. I’ve had this cassette version of Welcome To Hell for a very, very long time. This debut from Venom is 100% Metal history 101, my Metal brethren!

So many genres of Metal can thank Venom for their establishing such a raw & speed driven sound; establishing this sound so early on during the NWOBHM movement. Venom paved a Metal path for countless Thrash and Black Metal bands; it’s nearly mind-boggling to grasp.

See for yourself, how Venom is misspelled on this cassette’s spine. It reads: Venon. Who the hell was dumb enough to misspell Venom this way? Whoever was responsible for this printing error was obviously a constipated poser and a turd. Blasphemy!!

Maybe this “Venon version” of Welcome To Hell is worth a blackened fortune? I just don’t know. I’ll never part with this cassette anyways, unless someone offers me six figures for it.

ELIMINATOR – Release New Demo “You Are, You’re Not”

Once again, New Jersey’s ELIMINATOR are pushing boundaries and expanding the definition of “Heavy Metal”.  Guitarist/vocalist Warchild has been working hard with drummer Samus (DECREPIT BIRTH, ex-ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, ex-MUTINY WITHIN) on creating their latest EP titled Dream Thrash.

According to Warchild, this once again evolved sound is a first as he coins the genre “Thrashgaze”. This most recent project has the bands classic thrash sound mixed with 90’s alternative clean breaks and a melancholy vibe.  If there is anything an ELIMINATOR fan can expect, it’s certainly the unexpected and yet again, these guys deliver.

ELIMINATOR has just posted a demo of their new song “You are, You’re Not”.  With a recently formed live lineup, ELIMINATOR will continue to polarize listeners with Dream Thrash.

KISS – That’s it at the top! I bought this really cool KISS Playlist Your Way CD (about a year or so ago) at my local Super Walmart for $7 (U.S.). Due to my already having each song on this CD, I opted to keep this KISS CD as a collectible, therefore keeping it sealed. The photo card of KISS that you see atop the front of the CD has 4 guitar picks. These guitar picks can be punched out.
